현대섬유예술에 나타난 몸의 확장성과 인체기호로서의 상호 텍스트성 - 아바카노비치의 아바칸을 중심으로 - (Extensibility of Human body Inter-textuality as Body-signs in Contemporary fiber Arts - Abakanowiz Abakan -)

  • Body has been high-lightened as one of the most important theme since the philosophy and the arts are focused on it in the late 20 century. Resurgence of interests in human body has been based on the skepticism on rapid digitalization and do-materialization currently undergoing in electronic media environments. Artists have been endeavoring more and more to find a synthesis which links the conceptual and the sensuous in their works as digitalization gets faster and faster. The Bodily-oriented art uses its visceral qualities, either literally or metaphorically, to engage our total being, not just our mental consciousness, in building a sensuous, evocative statement. Its transcendent ideas are inter- mixed with the fabric of the world. We are touched by this art not only because we understand it cognitively, but because we "feel"it. These characteristics of textile arts caused gradual increase of soft-sculpture works using textiles and implies possibilities of inter-grade of physical and mental world. Ann Hamilton, Magdalena Abakanowiz, Folly Apfelbaum and Pallid Dougherty are, for example, related to the fiber arts. It would be of worth to study the characteristics of contemporary faber-art works, especially done by Abakanowiz who has been regarded as a dominant pioneer in the contemporary fiber arts from the viewpoint of inter-grade of the physicals and the mental. This paper, therefore, deals with the Abaknowiz′works in the context of human body and body-signs. Life and works might be classified into 5 stages; first, learning period since her birth in 1930, second, creation period of Abakan, third, remodelling period of Abakan, fourth, composition and dissolution period of Abakan and the last and fifth, new transformation period of Abakan. ′Abakan′through her whole life as an artist has been a plastic language and based ultimately on external human body but in various materials and forms.

A Qualitative Case Study of an Exemplary Science Teacher's Earth Systems Education Experiences

  • The purposes of this case study were (1) to explore one experienced teacher's views on Earth Systems Education and (2) to describe and document the characteristics of the Earth Systems Education (ESE) curriculum provided by an exemplary middle school science teacher, Dr. J. All the essential pieces of evidence were collected from observations, interviews with the experienced teacher and his eighth grade students, informal conversations, document analysis, and field notes. The $NUD^*IST$ for MS Windows was used for an initial data reduction process and to narrow down the focus of an analysis. All transcriptions and written documents were reviewed carefully and repeatedly to find rich evidence through inductive and content analysis. The findings revealed that ESE provided a conceptual focus and theme for organizing his school curriculum. The curriculum offered opportunities for students to learn relevant local topics and to connect the classroom learning to the real world. The curriculum also played an important role in developing students' value and appreciation of Earth systems and concern for the local environment. His instructional strategies were very compatible with recommendations from a constructivist theory. His major teaching methodology and strategies were hands-on learning, authentic activities-based learning, cooperative learning, project-based learning (e.g., mini-projects), and science field trips. With respect to his views about benefits and difficulties associated with ESE, the most important benefit was that the curriculum provided authentic-based, hands-on activities and made connections between students and everyday life experiences. In addition, he believed that it was not difficult to teach using ESE. However, the lack of time devoted to field trips and a lack of suitable resource materials were obstacles to the implementation of the curriculum. Implications for science education and future research are suggested.

국내 아파트 단지 외부공간의 디자인 특성 분석 - 최근 10년간 굿 디자인(Good Design) 수상 아파트 단지를 대상으로 - (A Study on the Design Characteristic of Outdoor Spaces in the Apartment Complex - Focused on the Good Design Awarded Apartment Complex in the Past Decade -)

  • The subject of this research is to analyze the design characteristics of outdoor spaces in Good Design awarded apartment complexes in the past decade. The results are as follows. First, the overall outdoor space design theme, one of the conceptual elements, is focused on both 'nature' and 'story of various subject' that are similar to each other. Second, the case study object with the visual openness, which is secured between apartment blocks, is shown frequently in case box-shaped apartment blocks are arranged in a row. However, in case of Y-shaped block arrangement, the visual openness secured within an apartment complex is considered more important. Third, according to the result of circulation/ inner path element, the most frequently appeared inner path form is a grid pattern with straight path emphasis. While apartment complexes with the parking lot on the ground are only 3 out of 18 cases, it with circulation path for vehicle on the ground level are over 61%. Fourthly, the design characteristic of social space of physical outdoor design appears to be 'central link facility type'. In this case, the central community facilities are more likely to be combined with various functions, such as green, water, and social connection. Fifthly, in case of natural space, most of the apartment cases are shown over 45% green area ratio with wide green and water space provision. Especially, the differentiation is to provide the space where can stimulate a resident's participation.

  • 전시는 사회의 미래지향적인 변화와 기존 문화와의 상호영향에 관한 이해를 우선적으로 요구한다. 전시기획과 설계와 관련된 기초적이고 일반적인 연구에 대해서는 많은 문헌이 존재한다. 그러나 국제적 규모로 개최되는 박람회장의 전시에 대한 구체적인 연구사례는 극히 미미한 실정이다. 이와 관련하여 본연구에서는 특히 박람회장 내의 특수전시연출과 전시기획에 초점을 맞추었다. 전시연출기범에 혁신을 일으키며 환상적인 공간창출을 한 적절한 사례로 일본 국제 과학기술박람회(THE INTERNATIONAL EXPOSITION ' 85 TSUKUBA), 세계 디자인박람회(THE WORLD DESIGN EXPOSITION ' 89 NAGOYA), 국제 꽃 박람회(THE INTERNATIONAL GARDEN AND GREENERY EXPOSITION ' 90 OSAKA)등을 선정하여 개념적 특성을 검토하였다. 전시기획의 사례로 대전 엑스포 ' 93중 정부관을 선정하여 기본이념과 주제를 가장 효율적으로 표현할 수 있는 전시설계의 기본방향과 구성, 전시배치, 특수효과 시스템 개념에 대헤 총체적 연구를 수행하였다.

패밀리 레스토랑 운영 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Efficient Operational System of Family Restaurants in Korea)

  • The purpose of this was to solve conceptual problems of family restaurant through theoretical approach, to improve problems associated with managing restaurants, and to suggest plans for family restaurant chains. First of all, in order to improve the problems of franchising, the contents of contract were analyzed by showing the examples, and the methods were illustrated to analyze the overall contents. Hereafter, family restaurants will be categorized as either 'Casual Dining' or 'Theme Restaurant', some of the nicknames for family restaurant. However, the fundamental categories will be in accordance with the categories of NRA of the U.S.A. as 'Family Chain Restaurant', 'Grill-Buffet Restaurant' and 'Dinner House'. It is hoped that the future study categorize these three in more details. The problems of restaurant management were considered to be concerned with the owner and the managerial problems. As a way to overcome the problems associated with restaurant chain concept, the importance of manual and food & beverage production, the analysis on different methods of store development, the characteristics of manual, the interested items when filling-out, and the methods were presented. The basic systems of commissary food service were introduced and their effects were presented as well in this study. The stages of store development and the models of expansion were presented for an analysis. The main focus of this study was to grasp the flow of organizational and store expansion by analyzing on-site stores and headquarters office hence find out the reason why the current portion of family restaurant is decreasing and not increasing among dining out industry. Therefore, it has brought a great opportunity to seize the problems of structual systems of family restaurant. A family restaurant is no longer perceived as an ordinary restaurant, yet it represents a whole new cultural environment due to the unique characteristics of family restaurant such as its food culture, protocol, and various shapes and sizes. The researcher of this study extends his wish that the future study reinvestigates differently categorized family restaurant and gives much attention to a systematically independent research subject.

동시대 예술 형식의 상호성과 공유 가능성 -니콜라 부리오의 포스트프로덕션 개념을 중심으로- (Collaborative Dispositions of Participatory Arts in Contemporary Practices -Based on Nicolas Bourriaud's Notion of Postproduction-)

  • 본고는 니콜라 부리오(Nicolas Bourriaud)의 포스트프로덕션(Postproduction) 개념에 토대하여 동시대 예술 형식의 상호성과 공유 가능성을 통시적 관점에서 분석하였다. 표본 사례로 예시한 올라퍼 알리아슨(Olafur Eliasson), 리크리트 티라바니자(Rirkrit Tiravanija,), 아이 웨이웨이(Ai WeiWei)의 근작에서 예술은 전지구적 현안에의 관여를 유도하는 실행 체계이자 협업 시스템으로서 제시된다. 이러한 형식주의 작업 양상은 탈중심을 넘어 사용자 중심으로 재편되고 있는 동시대 IT 네트워크 환경과 경험을 투영한다. 예술과 비예술의 경계가 모호해진 시장주의 현실에 대한 대응 방안으로서 예술가들은 공유와 확장성을 지향하는 사용자 문화를 적극 포용하고 있다. 작품의 생산과 유통 과정에 수용자가 직접 개입할 수 있도록 작업체계는 분산적으로 구축되는데, 이는 기존의 관객 참여형 예술과 궤를 함께 하면서도 매체 실험을 넘어서는 것이다. 여기서 온오프라인을 넘나들며 탈정형적 연대를 추구하는 사용자들이 서로에게 잠재된 가능성을 일깨워내는 쇄신 주체로 상정된다. 참여 양식이 집단 지성에 대한 상호 신뢰를 토대로 유무형의 자원 공유와 네트워킹에 기반하면서, 예술은 대안적 현실을 모색하는 공론장이자 플랫폼으로 제시되고 있다.

현대미술에 나타난 사진의 활용과 그 유형학적 분류 (Application and Its Typological Classification of Photographs Shown in Contemporary Art)

  • A photograph, which was applied to contemporary art, plays a very important role in the whole of the multiplied and diversified contemporary arts today. The application of photos, which were shown in contemporary art following the 1950s, can be classified into five types according to role and function of a photo in the process of developing a work. However, this classification is shown a little ambiguously. That is because photos of being utilized by artists are indicated very diversely depending on their artistic strategy and situation. As the first type, a few painters utilize a photo as mirror of reality in order to materialize a challenging and revolutionary idea with going against traditional picture in their pictorial practice. As the second classification, especially American painters utilize a photo as material component of forming their picture like photo-montage or collage. The combined application of this medium is first doing genre de-construction and hybridization of post-modernism in the 1980s while ultimately aiming at social criticism or political satire. The third type implies particularly a case that avant-garde artists utilize a photo as evidence of a work. In this case, a photo is employed as evidence of a work, which disappears in the temporal space essentially like body art, land art, and performance. Also, as the fourth type is a case of utilizing a photo for artistic concept of a work, not pictorial practice of picture, it is utilized often as important artistic strategy of conceptual artists. The final type of utilizing photo is a case of applying photo as formative tool on behalf of dye-stuffs or crayon in order to record a section of reality, which always continues regardless of event or meaning any more, in the traditional picture. In this case, a work is indicated as a photo of having a form of picture, namely, as Forme-tableau. The main subject is indicated there as a daily case of being repeated always the extremely common and revived theme.

  • 빅데이터 분석은 기존 데이터베이스 관리 도구로부터 데이터를 수집, 저장, 관리, 분석할 수 있는 역량을 말한다. 또한 대량의 정형 또는 비정형 데이터 집합으로부터 가치를 추출하고 결과를 분석하는 기술을 의미한다. 많은 연구자들이 동일한 주제로 발표된 연구결과들을 요약해서 설명하는 방법이 메타분석이다. 메타분석은 여러 실증연구의 정량적인 결과를 통합과 분석을 통해 전체 결과를 조망할 수 있는 기회를 제공해 주는 통계적 통합 방법이다. 따라서 본 연구는 콜라겐 섭취가 인체에 미치는 영향 요인을 알아보기 위해 문헌적 고찰을 통해 선행연구를 살펴보고 열거된 요인에 관한 실증 분석된 연구들을 메타분석하기 위해 2000년-2016년 국내 학술지에 게재된 연구 21개 논문을 대상으로 하였다. 분석결과를 바탕으로 연구의 한계와 시사점을 제시하고자 한다.

전문직 정체성 형성 및 촉진을 위한 의학교육 현황과 고려점 (Current Status and Directions of Professional Identity Formation in Medical Education)

  • Professional identity formation (PIF) is an essential concept in professional education. Many scholars have explored conceptual frameworks of PIF and conducted empirical studies to advance an understanding of the construct in medical education. Despite its importance, it is unclear what educational approaches and assessment practices are actually implemented in medical education settings. Therefore, we conducted a literature review of empirical studies reporting educational practices for medical learners' PIF. We searched the Web of Science database using keywords and chose 37 papers for analysis based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Thematic analysis was conducted. Most empirical papers (92%) were from North America and Western Europe and used qualitative research methods, including mixed methods (99%). The papers reported the use of reflection activities and elective courses for specific purposes, such as art as an educational activity. Patient and healthcare experiences were also found to be a central theme in medical learners' PIF. Through an iterative analysis of the key themes that emerged from the PIF studies, we derived the following key concepts and implications: (1) the importance of creating informal and incidental learning environments, (2) ordinary yet authentic patient experiences, (3) a climate of psychosocial safety in a learning environment embracing individual learners' background and emotional development, and (4) the reconceptualization of PIF education and assessment. In conclusion, research on PIF should be diversified to include various cultural and social contexts. Theoretical frameworks should also be diversified and developed beyond Kegan's developmental framework to accommodate the nonlinear and dynamic nature of PIF.

국내외 학술지를 토대로 분석한 화학교육 연구의 최근 동향 비교 (Comparison of the Recent Trend of Chemistry Education Research Based on the Analysis of the Domestic and Foreign Journals)

  • 화학교육 연구의 최근 동향을 파악하기 위하여 국내와 국외 화학교육 학술지에 게재된 논문을 비교 분석하였다. 국내 학술지로는 대한화학회지와 한국과학교육학회지를 선택하였고, 국외 학술지로는 Journal of Chemical Education을 선택하였다. 세 학술지에 2000년에서 2009년까지 10년간 게재된 논문을 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 연구 주제로 '교수법 및 교육공학', '학습자 특성', '화학 개념 및 실험' 순서로 많이 연구되었고, 한국의 사회적 특성이 반영된 '교육과정 및 교과서' 연구도 종종 이루어졌다. 연구에서 다루어진 화학교육 목표는 '개념 이해 및 개념 변화'가 가장 많았고, 국외의 경우 '성취도 또는 성적'이, 국내의 경우 '실험·탐구 능력'과 '태도, 흥미, 동기'가 두 번째로 많았다. 연구 대상으로 국내에서는 중학생과 고등학생을 대상으로 하는 연구가 많은 반면 국외에서는 대학생을 대상으로 하는 연구가 많아, 국내 연구에서 고등교육에 대한 관심이 요구된다. 연구 방법으로 '조사 및 검사'가 가장 많이 사용되었고, 국내의 경우 '자료 분석 및 내용 분석'과 '실험 연구', 국외의 경우 '실험 연구'가 두 번째로 많았다. 미래의 화학교육 연구에 대한 시사점을 논의하였다.
