Purpose - As the role of salespersons in retail stores has expanded from selling products to sharing brand experiences with customers, the importance of research on the effects of salesperson-brand relationships has grown. The purpose of this research is to investigate the influences of salespersons' brand identification on conceptual fluency and customers' service and brand evaluations. It was supposed that salespersons' brand identification is affected by brand knowledge, which is a core dimension of internal branding. Research design, data, and methodology - The author developed a structural model in which salespersons' brand knowledge influences brand identification, hence customers' perception of salesperson-brand image congruence. And it is hypothesized that salesperson-brand image congruence influences conceptual fluency which affects customers' satisfaction and brand evaluation. Data were collected from five department stores in Seoul. Results - First, salespersons' brand knowledge was found to have a significant effect on brand identification. The more a salesperson knows about the affiliated brand, the higher her level of brand identification. Second, salespersons' brand identification influenced salesperson-brand image congruence. Third, salesperson-brand image congruence had a significant effect on brand conceptual fluency. Customers who perceive salesperson-brand image congruent are more likely to process information easily. Finally, conceptual fluency was found to be a significant determinant of store loyalty and brand value evaluation. Conclusions - The results of this study verify importance of salesperson's brand identification on customers' service and brand evaluations. To enhance salespersons' brand identification, retailers should emphasize the importance of internal branding and communication, especially by sharing brand vision, values, and identity with employees at customer contact points. Also, as brand conceptual fluency is a significant determinant of customer responses, retailers need to deliver consistent messages through various components of store environments, including salespersons' attitudes, appearances, and manners, as well as physical store design. With a deeper understanding of the effects of salesperson-brand relationship and brand conceptual fluency, retailers will be able to create more effective brand strategies to enhance their performances. Future studies should consider data from various retail types, such as discount stores, to generalize the findings.

Conceptual cost is estimated with insufficient information at an early stage of a building construction project, resulting in an inevitable gap between conceptual estimated cost and real constructed cost. For a project to be successful, this gap must be managed to be lower than a reliable level. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to propose a structural process for managing the reliability of conceptual cost estimates at an early stage of a building construction project. In researching this study, conceptual cost estimate experts were interviewed,and a risk management process was studied. Reliability assessment and a review process for improving the quality of conceptual cost estimate and the planning strategy of reliability management based on previous similar projects were added to the present estimate process. The proposed reliability management process will improve the chances of a successful project, by helping to decrease the risk of conceptual estimated cost.

The software pattern is knowledge representation derived from the verified solutions or the experience of the experts. On account of the design varieties of software development, however, it is not the facilitated task to discover the best proper software pattern. This situation requires that software patterns be categorized in terms of their innate concepts. This paper proposes software pattern ontology(SPO) for the systematic categorization of software patterns by means of conceptual properties of patterns after the comparative analysis of association between software pattern and ontology. The SPO presented in this paper can establish the basis for the software pattern management system at the conceptual level. This paper also shows an idea for the application by unifying conceptual properties of software pattern and ontology.

However XML languages can logically define the type of structure with their's own grammar, it is inadequate to use them as a tool for conceptual model that represents the semantics of data and the relationships between the data in the real world. In this paper, we propose conceptual modeling techniques, called CMXML, for modeling the XML schema at the conceptual level. For this purpose, we define the model formally, and provide a way to represent the model in a graphical and text form. We also propose an mapping methodology providing transformation from CMXML to XML schema to show the feasibility of the proposed model.
In this study, a conceptual pyroprocess flowsheet has been devised by combining several dry-type unit processes; its applicability as an alternative fuel cycle technology was analyzed. A key point in the evaluation of its applicability to the fuel cycle was the recovery yield of fissile materials from spent fuels as well as the proliferation resistance of the process. The recovery yields of uranium and transuranic elements (TRU) were obtained from a material balance for every unit process composing the whole pyroprocess. The material balances for several elemental groups of interest such as uranium, TRU, rare earth, gaseous fission products, and heat generating elements were calculated on the basis of the knowledge base that is available from domestic and foreign experimental results or technical information presented in open literature. The calculated result of the material balance revealed that uranium and TRU could be recovered at 98.0% and 97.0%, respectively, from a typical PWR spent fuel. Furthermore, the anticipated TRU product was found to emit a non-negligible level of $\gamma$-ray and a significantly higher level of neutrons compared to that of a typical plutonium product obtained from the PUREX process. The results indicate that the product from this conceptual pyroprocessing should be handled in a shielded cell and that this will contribute favorably to retaining proliferation resistance.
Micro reactors are increasingly being considered for utilization as distributed power sources. Hence, the probabilistic safety assessment (PSA) of a direct supercritical-CO2-cooled fast reactor, called micro modular reactor (MMR), was performed in this study; this reactor was developed using innovative design concepts. It adopted a modular design and passive safety systems to minimize site constraints. As the MMR is in its conceptual design phase, design weaknesses and valuable safety insights could be identified during PSA. Level 1 internal event PSA was carried out involving literature survey, system characterization, identification of initiating events, transient analyses, development of event trees and fault trees, and quantification. The initiating events and scenarios significantly contributing to core damage frequency (CDF) were determined to identify design weaknesses in MMR. The most significant initiating event category contributing to CDF was the transients with the power conversion system initially available category, owing to its relatively high occurrence frequency. Further, an importance analysis revealed that the safety of MMR can be significantly improved by improving the reliability of reactor trip and passive decay heat removal system operation. The findings presented in this paper are expected to contribute toward future applications of PSA for assessing unconventional nuclear reactors in their conceptual design phases.
This study investigated the effects of the level of enrichment for analogies upon students' mapping, conceptual understanding, and the types of mapping errors in concept learning about Boyle's Law. Analogical reasoning ability test was administered and the score was used as a blocking variable. Three types (simple, enriched, and extended analogies) of learning materials according to the level of enrichment for analogies were studied by randomly assigned middle school students, and a conceptions test and a mapping test were administered immediately. The retention tests of both were administered four weeks later. Analyses of the results revealed that there was no main effect in the level of enrichment for analogies, but there was interaction effect with analogical reasoning ability in the post test on mapping. And the score of enriched analogy group was significantly higher than those of simple analogy group, but the score differences among three groups were not significant in the retention test on conceptual understanding. The frequency of the total mapping errors in the simple analogy group was the highest, and the frequencies of most types of mapping errors in the enriched and the extended analogy groups were less than those in the simple analogy group. There were also some differences in the frequencies of mapping errors with respect to the level of analogical reasoning ability. Therefore, these results will help science teachers plan and practice instructions using analogy.
Population-level learning has traditionally been used to provide an explanation for the underlying mechanism of industry change. But it has yet to examine the impact on strategic decisions such as market entry. This conceptual paper aims to provide an insight into how population-level learning affects entry likelihood by acting as a tool for interpreting population-level changes. We study this in the context of the fast-paced mobile gaming industry where population-level information is salient and develop a set of propositions with regard to the likelihood of entry.
The purpose of this study was (1) to investigate changes in house and kitchen forms and behaviors in the kitchen area of Korean family houses from the Yi-dynasty to the present, and (2) to develop a housing conceptual framework on the basis of the ecosystem approach through analysis of changes in Korean family houses. The documentary research method wad used fro this study. The major findings were that the traditional Korean houses were composed of separate buildings and had various floor levels with the maru(a wooden floor) as the center of the open plan. The introduction of foreign style house forms from the era of enlightenment, in the year 1876 to the Korean war in 1950 changed traditional Korean houses into Korean-western style houses. More recent increased population and urbanization accelerated to change from the traditional Korean house form to an apartment style. At the present time, however, many kinds of house forms, from a highly modernized style with convenient facilities to a primitive style, which cannot even meet the basis needs of daily life, coexist together. The Kitchens in traditional Korean houses had no plumbing, drainage, or work centers. They had simple adobe furnaces which were used for cooking and for heating the ondol, a kind of panel heated floor by which the heat and smoke run under the floor to the chimney. This made the kitchen floor level lower than the floors of other spaces. The residents entered the kitchen through the madang(atrium). The influence of the western style kitchen, the development of technology, and improvements of nation-wide economic status have made today's kitchen space covenient and hygienic. The floor level of the kitchen was raised to the same level of other spaces. Formerly the major function of the kitchen was raised to the same level of other spaces. A housing conceptual framework was developed on the basis of these findings.
High-rise and high-density apartment complexes have been built and supplied on a large scale in the 1st period of the New Town project in metropolitan areas since the late 1980s. Now It has become necessary to improve those apartment complexes, which have serious deterioration problems for aging more than about 20 years accompanying simultaneity and a large scale. The purpose of this research is to develop the evaluating indicators to measure the level of deterioration of apartments inclusively and practically in order to regenerate apartments as sustainable residential environments. This study is composed of the following four parts; (a) establishing the conceptual model of evaluation of apartment deterioration, (b) selecting evaluation items, (c) constituting evaluation measurement, and(d)weighting evaluation indicators. First, deterioration of apartments was conceptualized by physical. social, and economical aspects in terms of sustainable development and proposed the conceptual model of hierarchy structure of evaluation of apartment deterioration by literature reviews. Second, evaluating items were selected based on literature reviews of existing indicators and preceding studies about apartments of Korea and foreign countries. The evaluating indicators were identified as a total of 77 evaluating items which were composed of three dimensions and 9 attributes on the basis of the conceptual model. They cover comprehensive scope of the apartment such as unit, building, complex, and site. Third, as the measurement, the 5 point ordinal scale measure was suggested. The evaluating measurement including measure standards, measure methods, and measure contents were developed by each evaluating items. Lastly, the weighting of evaluating indicators was analyzed by AHP method conducted by survey on the expert group. Items were identified as high contributors or low contributors. The weighting of these items could suggest several evaluations according to the situation. The evaluation of the level of deterioration can be done by both total evaluation and a specific field of evaluation. In addition, it is easy to grasp deteriorated attributes or dimensions by providing a radar and bar chart showing evaluation results. These evaluating indicators could be a useful tool to grasp actual methods for the regeneration of apartments.
