Next generation wireless receivers demand low computational complexity algorithms with high computing power in order to perform fast signal detections and error estimations. Several signal detection and estimation algorithms have been proposed for next generation wireless receivers which are primarily designed to provide reasonable performance in terms of signal to noise ratio (SNR) and bit error rate (BER). However, none of them have been chosen for direct implementation as they offer high computational complexity with relatively lower computing power. This paper presents a low-complexity power-efficient algorithm that improves the computing power and provides relatively faster signal detection for next generation wireless multiuser receivers. Measurement results of the proposed algorithm are provided and the overall system performance is indicated by BER and the computational complexity. Finally, in order to verify the low-complexity of the proposed algorithm we also present a formal mathematical proof.
The use of network coding in wireless networks has been proposed in the literature for energy efficient broadcast. However, the decoding complexity of existing algorithms is too high for low-complexity devices. In this work we formalize the all-to-all information exchange problem and shows how to optimize the transmission scheme in terms of energy efficiency. Furthermore, we prove by construction that there exists O(1) -complexity network coding algorithms for grid networks which can achieve such optimality. We also present low-complexity heuristics for random. topology networks. Simulation results show that network coding algorithms outperforms forwarding algorithms in most cases.

In recent years, container techniques have been broadly applied to cloud computing systems to maximize their efficiency, flexibility, and economic feasibility. Concurrently, studies have also been conducted to ensure the security of cloud computing. Among these studies, moving-target defense techniques using the high agility and flexibility of cloud-computing systems are gaining attention. Moving-target defense (MTD) is a technique that prevents various security threats in advance by proactively changing the main attributes of the protected target to confuse the attacker. However, an analysis of existing MTD techniques revealed that, although they are capable of deceiving attackers, MTD techniques have practical limitations when applied to an actual cloud-computing system. These limitations include resource wastage, management complexity caused by additional function implementation and system introduction, and a potential increase in attack complexity. Accordingly, this paper proposes a software-defined MTD system that can flexibly apply and manage existing and future MTD techniques. The proposed software-defined MTD system is designed to correctly define a valid mutation range and cycle for each moving-target technique and monitor system-resource status in a software-defined manner. Consequently, the proposed method can flexibly reflect the requirements of each MTD technique without any additional hardware by using a software-defined approach. Moreover, the increased attack complexity can be resolved by applying multiple MTD techniques.
In this paper, we examine the relations of two closely related concepts, the digital Lusternik-Schnirelmann category and the digital higher topological complexity, with each other in digital images. For some certain digital images, we introduce κ-topological groups in the digital topological manner for having stronger ideas about the digital higher topological complexity. Our aim is to improve the understanding of the digital higher topological complexity. We present examples and counterexamples for κ-topological groups.

With limited computing and storage resources, many network applications of encryption algorithms require low power devices and fast computing components. CHESS-64 is designed by employing simple key scheduling and Data-Dependent operations (DDO) as main cryptographic components. Hardware performance for Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) and for Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC) proves that CHESS-64 is a very flexible and powerful new cipher. In this paper, the security of CHESS-64 block cipher under related-key differential cryptanalysis is studied. Based on the differential properties of DDOs, we construct two types of related-key differential characteristics with one-bit difference in the master key. To recover 74 bits key, two key recovery algorithms are proposed based on the two types of related-key differential characteristics, and the corresponding data complexity is about $2^{42.9}$ chosen-plaintexts, computing complexity is about $2^{42.9}$ CHESS-64 encryptions, storage complexity is about $2^{26.6}$ bits of storage resources. To break the cipher, an exhaustive attack is implemented to recover the rest 54 bits key. These works demonstrate an effective and general way to attack DDO-based ciphers.

Election is a fundamental problem in the distributed computing. We consider n nodes in the network with f maximum number of faulty links incident on each node, where $f{\le}{\llcorner}(n-1/2){\lrcorner}$. In general, electing a leader, finding the maximum identifier and constructing a spanning tree belong to the same class in the distributed computing because of the same order of the message complexity. Using a spanning tree, we prove that the lower bound of message complexity for a leader election algorithm in an asynchronous complete network with intermittent link faults is $O(n^3)$.

Increase in computational cost and exhaustive search can lead to more complexity and computational energy. Thus, there is need for effective and efficient scheme to reduce the complexity to achieve optimal energy utilization. This will improve the energy efficiency and enhance the proficiency in terms of the resources needed to achieve convergence. This paper primarily focuses on the development of hybrid swarm intelligence scheme for reducing the computational complexity in binary optimization. In order to reduce the complexity, both artificial bee colony (ABC) and particle swarm optimization (PSO) have been employed to effectively minimize the exhaustive search and increase convergence. First, a new approach using ABC and PSO has been proposed and developed to solve the binary optimization problem. Second, the scout for good quality food sources is accomplished through the deployment of PSO in order to optimally search and explore the best source. Extensive experimental simulations conducted have demonstrate that the proposed scheme outperforms the ABC approaches for reducing complexity and energy consumption in terms of convergence, search and error minimization performance measures.

Salient information extraction from multi-view videos is a very challenging area because of inter-view, intra-view correlations, and computational complexity. There are several techniques developed for keyframes extraction from multi-view videos with very high computational complexities. In this paper, we present a keyframes extraction approach from multi-view videos using entropy and complexity information present inside frame. In first step, we extract representative shots of the whole video from each view based on structural similarity index measurement (SSIM) difference value between frames. In second step, entropy and complexity scores for all frames of shots in different views are computed. Finally, the frames with highest entropy and complexity scores are considered as keyframes. The proposed system is subjectively evaluated on available office benchmark dataset and the results are convenient in terms of accuracy and time complexity.

Classical cryptography with complex computations has recently been utilized in the latest computing systems to create secret keys. However, systems can be breached by fast-measuring methods of the secret key; this approach does not offer adequate protection when depending on the computational complexity alone. The laws of physics for communication purposes are used in quantum computing, enabling new computing concepts to be introduced, particularly in cryptography and key distribution. This paper proposes a quantum computing lattice (CQL) mechanism that applies the BB84 protocol to generate a quantum key. The generated key and a one-time pad encryption method are used to encrypt the message. Then Babai's algorithm is applied to the ciphertext to find the closet vector problem within the lattice. As a result, quantum computing concepts are used with classical encryption methods to find the closet vector problem in a lattice, providing strength encryption to generate the key. The proposed approach is demonstrated a high calculation speed when using quantum computing.
The standard of evaluating function of speech coder for mobile telecommunication can be shown in channel capacity, noise immunity, encryption, complexity and encoding delay largely. This study is an algorithm to reduce complexity applying to CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) mobile telecommunication system, which has a benefit of keeping the existing advantage of telecommunication quality and low transmission rate. This paper has an objective to reduce the computing complexity by controlling the frequency band nonuniform during the changing process of LSP(Line Spectrum Pairs) parameters from LPC(Line Predictive Coding) coefficients used for EVRC(Enhanced Variable-Rate Coder, IS-127) speech coders. Its experimental result showed that when comparing the speech coder applied by the proposed algorithm with the existing EVRC speech coder, it's decreased by 45% at average. Also, the values of LSP parameters, Synthetic speech signal and Spectrogram test result were obtained same as the existing method.
