In this paper, we implement a common module that can integrate multiple biometric information for integrated patient monitoring system. Conventional biomedical instruments have many devices attached to each patient, making it difficult to monitor abnormality signs of many patients in real time. In this paper, we propose a module for an integrated monitoring system that can perform centralized monitoring using a common module that integrates multiple measurement devices. A protocol for sending and receiving packets between the measuring device and the common module is designed, and the packets transmitted through the network are stored and managed through the integrated monitoring system and provide information to various users such as medical staff. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the management of patients and efficient medical services in hospitals.

Missile system. which requires high speed/high maneuverability is getting more important as a defensive weapon system. Control technology has been making remarkable progress in electrical control (E), instrumentation & control (I) and computer control (C) field respectively. In order to rationalize system engineering and simplify system configuration and operation work, so called, EIC are now to be integrated into one system. FUJI has developed it's own E, I&C integrated system, to meet above mentioned market requirements of variety. This paper describes basic concept of FUJI's Integrated Man-Machine Interface, hereinafter called SINGLE CONSOLE, from some view points of E, I, C integration technology.

The telemedicine & distance education system that this paper suggests has been designed on the CTE(Collaborative Telemedicine & distance Education) framework, which is an integrated multimedia environment. This is a CBM-based collaborative telemedicine & distance education type, different from the conventional doctor based general practice, and is an integrated multimedia telemedicine & distance education system capable of many application developments using information super highway. This paper presents the content regarding electronic medical examination chart and data treatment for efficient medical examination and prompt treatment by realizing mutual conversation type remote medical examination system among 3 parties(patient, doctor, pharmacist) on internet base. And, The implementation of this new teaming system should be designed with multimedia application development platform base which is interfaced with computer engineering, computer network technology, CSCW (Computer-Supported Cooperative Work) technology, and education engineering.

This paper proposes an integrated scheduling mechanism for embedded system with real-time web server to meet the characteristics of real time task. The proposed scheduling mechanism may solve the so-called priority inversion problem in scheduling between urgent web requests and tasks with low priorities. The priority inversion problem happens because of operating two independent schedulers, web scheduler and operating system scheduler in a system without considering the requirements of each other. In the proposed mechanism, two schedulers are integrated in an operating system and the integrated scheduler schedules tasks for urgent web requests with real time characteristics and other application tasks together. Since all tasks are scheduled by one unified scheduler that knows the characteristics of tasks, the tasks are scheduled with their absolute priorities and thus the priority inversion problem can be eliminated. The performance is measured on a prototype embedded system with the proposed algorithm.

This paper is concerned with the integrated computer program system aiming at efficiently performing the structural analysis and design. The developed computer program system is introduced and applied to a simple two-dimensional structure to show the general concept of the integrated system. Some design modifications and re-analyses are illustrated including local mesh refinement, These show the efficiency in doing design modification and analysis.

Recently, IVS(Intelligent Vehicle Systems) or ITS(Intelligent Traffic Systems) are much concerned subjects of automotive industry. In this paper, we will introduce an Intelligent Online Driving System for a car. This system allows the driver to be able to drive the car just by operating an integrated joystick. The proposed driving system could be implemented into any car and the key point of the design is that the driver still can drive the car as normal without using the joystick. Our Intelligent Online Driving System includes the integrated joystick, steering wheel control system, brake and acceleration (B&A)pedals control system, and the central control computer system. Steering wheel and B&A pedals are controlled by AC servo-motors. The integrated joystick generates the desired positions and the embedded computer controls these two servomotors to track the commands given by joystick. The control method for two servo-motors is PID control.

For more accurate navigation, lever arm compensation is considered. The compensation method for GPS and an odometer is introduced and new compensation methods are proposed for an odometer to consider the effect of coordinate transformation errors and the scale factor error. The methods are applied to a GPS/INS/odometer integrated system and the simulation and experimental results show its effectiveness.

The current progress in computer and electrical engineering has enabled the construction industry to implement innovative technologies in design and engineering. However, the construction segment is still largely based on experience, and this makes it difficult to meet the recent rigorous specifications, especially in the highway construction. This paper describes the current progress and the findings in the development of the computer integrated asphalt paving system, which is expected to assist the equipment operators to construct the quality pavement. The technologies to collect the required information, preferably in real-time, were reviewed comprehensively, and the selected technologies are proposed for the future development. Positional and thermal data were collected at the sample project in real-time to verify the capability of the available technologies. The collected data was analyzed using multiple regression method to confirm the significant factors for the compaction of the sample project, and to develop the empirical model, which can be adopted in the future system.
