The regular quality assurance (RQA) of X-ray images is essential for maintaining a high accuracy of diagnosis. This study was to evaluate the modulation transfer function (MTF), the noise power spectrum (NPS), and the detective quantum efficiency (DQE) of a computed radiography (CR) system for various periods of use from 2006 to 2015. We measured the pre-sampling MTF using the edge method and RQA 5 based on commission standard international electro-technical commission (IEC). The spatial frequencies corresponding to the 50% MTF for the CR systems in 2006, 2009, 2012 and 2015 were 1.54, 1.14, 1.12, and $1.38mm^{-1}$, respectively and the10% MTF for 2006, 2009, 2012, and 2015 were 2.68, 2.44, 2.44, and $2.46mm^{-1}$, respectively. In the NPS results, the CR systems showed the best noise distribution in 2006, and with the quality of distributions in the order of 2015, 2009, and 2012. At peak DQE and DQE at $1mm^{-1}$, the CR systems showed the best efficiency in 2006, and showed better efficiency in order of 2015, 2009, and 2012. Because the eraser lamp in the CR systems was replaced, the image quality in 2015 was superior to those in 2009 and 2012. This study can be incorporated into used in clinical QA requiring performance and evaluation of the performance of the CR systems.
The purpose of the study was to present basic data to evaluation of the spatial resolution for exposure class(EC) in computed radiography(CR) by using the modulation transfer function(MTF). In this study, MTF was measured the edge method by using image plate(IP) of $100{\mu}mm$ pixels. A standard beam quality RQA5 based on an international electro-technical commission(IEC) standard was used to perform the X-ray imaging studies. Digital imaging began to set the sensitivity to EC 50, 100, 200, 300, 400, 600, 800, 1200 in X-ray irradiated to IP. The MTF 50% and 10% in the final images was analysis by using an authorized image analysis program the Origin 8.0 and the image J. As a results, the EC 200 was the best spatial resolution at MTF 50% ($1.979{\pm}0.114lp/mm$) and MTF 10% ($3.932{\pm}0.041$). Therefore, the EC 200 could be useful for the diagnosis of diseases that require high spatial resolution such as fractures.
As the use of digital radiographic system has been expanded, there are some concerns an increase about in patient of radiation dose. Therefore, International Electro-technical Commission (IEC) has been proposed a standard foe exposure index (EI). In this study, the EI was measured on human chest model using computed radiography (CR). Radiation quality used RQA5 of IEC62494-1. After acquiring the chest anterior posterior image (Chest AP) by using the phantom, the EI was obtained by applying the system response. In this study, we have analyzed the images with the detector size (Full filed ROI) and the optimized image (Fit filed ROI). The EI increased proportionally with radiation dose increase. Due to the discrete increase in pixel value, the EI showed an exponential increase. The discrete increase in noise equivalent quanta (NEQ) resulted in a discrete increase in the EI. The EI of the two images used in this study increased with increasing NEQ but showed different increments. For the measurement of the EI, IEC standards must be followed. The EI should be used as an index to evaluate the image quality for quality control of X-ray image rather than as an indicator of exposure dose. When calculating the EI, the system response should be applied depending on whether or not the grid is used. The size of the field should be obtained by including only the necessary parts.
Purpose : To find out the proper compression ratios without degrading image quality and affecting lesion detectability on diagnostic images used in dentistry compressed with JPEG 2000 algorithm. Materials and Methods : Sixty Digora periapical images, sixty panoramic computed radiographic (CR) images, sixty computed tomographic (CT) images, and sixty magnetic resonance (MR) images were compressed into JPEG 2000 with ratios of 10 levels from 5:1 to 50:1. To evaluate the lesion detectability, the images were graded with 5 levels (1 : definitely absent; 2: probably absent; 3: equivocal; 4: probably present; 5: definitely present), and then receiver operating characteristic analysis was performed using the original image as a gold standard. Also to evaluate subjectively the image quality, the images were graded with 5 levels (1 definitely unacceptable; 2: probably unacceptable; 3: equivocal, 4: probably acceptable; 5· definitely acceptable), and then paired t-test was performed. Results : In Digora, CR panoramic and CT images, compressed images up to ratios of 15 : 1 showed nearly the same lesion detectability as original images, and in MR images, compressed images did up to ratios of 25 : 1. In Digora and CR panoramic Images, compressed images up to ratios of 5 : 1 showed little difference between the original and reconstructed images in subjective assessment of image quality In CT images, compressed images did up to ratios of 10: 1 and in MR images up to ratios of 15 : 1 Conclusion : We considered compression ratios up to 5 : 1 in Digora and CR panoramic images, up to 10 : 1 in CT images, up to 15 : 1 in MR images as clinically applicable compression ratios.

A reliable detection of regions in radiography is one of the most important task before the evaluation of defects on welded joints. The extracted features is to be classified into distinctive clusters for each segmented region. But conventional segmentation techniques give unsatisfactory results for this task due to the spatial superposition of intensity and low signal-to-ratio(SNR) in radiographic images. The usage of global or local processes not only provide the necessary noise resistance but also fail in classification of regions. In this paper, we presents an appropriate approach for segmentation of region-based indications in industrial Computed Radiography(CR) images. The geometric differences between welded and non-welded area which is generated on radiography as the representative regions(background, thickness, middle and welded region in steel tube image) have constructed the hierarchical structure. Although this structure is contaminated by noise, the scheme between regions can be selected by the help of local clustering based on distinctive geometric property of each region. Because of the geometric nature of the considered region and so that the region is selected layer by layer, and that the real class represents the boundary between regions, the vertical and horizontal clustering process in each layer must be judicious. In order to show the effectiveness of this approach, a comparative experiment of various segmentation method is performed on industrial steel tube CR images.

Before entering 21st Century, modern medical science is requiring more precise display which is highly estimated in diagnostic value as radial science technology is achieving sharp development. And it is also trying to contribute to improve national health and to offer better service by reducing radial exposure. General projection and Fluoroscopy which are most difficult to be displayed in digital tend to change their way ; from analog to digital with development of Electronic Engineering and Computer Technology, Introducing to CR system in 1994, SMC have displayed General projection and Fluoroscopy 100% in digital using CR system. This study searched differences between repeat rate, repeat type in the exam using Film/Screen and those in the exam using CR system. According to the analysis of repeat types and repeat rate of Film which was reused by using CR system in general projection room and Fluoroscopy room of SMC, we found that total 192,813 films were used and 2,097 films, 1.09% of total were reused. However, actual repeat covers 0.76% to 1,461 sheets with the exception of 636sheets. As above, display process using CR system is 0.76% much lower than general repeat rate 2$\sim$4% of Film/Screen exam. Besides decreased under/over exposure, it is appeared that position failure rate in repeat rate 0.76% covers relatively high 31%. Noticing that repeat caused unskilled devices handing was found many times, sufficient understanding seems to be required to reduce repeat.
The purpose of this study was to present simulation training model for general X-ray examinations and to analyze the errors that occur during the simulation training. From 2012 to 2018, a total of 183 students (77 men and 106 women) participated. The simulated X-ray system used computed radiography (CR) system. The contents of simulation training were patient's care, X-ray examinations accuracy, images stability, etc. As a result, it were found that the patient's position setting error, the accuracy error of the X-ray beam central ray, the image receptor's size and setting error, the error of the grid use, the marking error, and the error of X-ray exposure technical factors. It is expected that improved practical general X-ray examinations training of radiographer will be needed, focusing on these errors, so that we could contribute to the health care of the people by providing precise examinations and high quality medical service.
In this study, the influence degree of the scattering of the line depending on the incident energy of the radiation objective was to evaluate a new method of quantitative methods of PSNR is provided.Value of MSE and PSNR of the DR and the Target is placed at the left when there was no change in CR Target, the change appeared to ttaran MSE and PSNR value in tube voltage. Both CR and DR seen that there is a variation of the MSE and PSNR depending on the tube voltage change Computon showed that the scattered radiation effects. If the CR and DR 80 The changes in the MSE and PSNR experience the symptoms suddenly occur in areas kVp was found to affect the optoelectronic Computon E, and at the same time, the scattered radiation detector Computon Computon by scattering due to the photoelectric effect. CR and DR of the imaging device in the future on the basis of the energy bands of the photoelectric effect of 60 kVp 70 kVp, 80 kVp, 90 kVp, compares the value of the PSNR and MSE 100 kVp in accordance with the change of the tube voltage of the CR and device DR proposes jigil scattering study of the degradation of the line quality is achieved.

This paper proposes the use of decision tree classification for the measuring pattern recognition from industrial Computed Radiography(CR) images used in nondestructive evaluation(NDE) of steel-tubes. It appears that NDE problems are naturally desired to have machine learning techniques identify patterns and their classification. The attributes of decision tree are taken from NDE test procedure. Geometric features, such as radiative angle, gradient and distance, are estimated from the analysis of input image data. These factors are used to make it easy and accurate to classify an input object to one of the pre-specified classes on decision tree. This algerian is to simplify the characterization of NDE results and to facilitate the determination of features. The experimental results verify the usefulness of proposed algorithm.
