  • A solar cell is an element to transform the solar light energy into the electric energy in a moment. The single crystal element of high quality on which many studies were conducted in the past has a high efficiency of energy transformation, but its price competitiveness is so poor that it has failed to be popularized However, recently, in terms of an environment-friendly alternative energy, studies on applicability of the polycrystal solar cell have been actively under way. Among subject substances for such solar cell, $CuInSe_2$ has several good physical properties so that the greatest attention is paid to it as an optical absorption layer material for a low-cost solar cell of high efficiency. In order to manufacture the $CuInSe_2$ compound thin film, the unit element was deposited by using the sputtering method and the evaporation method and the heat treatment process was used in an electric furnace. Thereby, we intended to get a single-phase $CuInSe_2$ compound thin film.

In vitro and In vivo Effects of Gelidium amansii on Intestinal Immune System

  • Purified compound with intestinal immune system-modulating properties, GWE-2c, was isolated from methanol extract of Gelidium amansii by sequential procedures with silica gel column, LH-20 Sephadex gel column, and thin-layer chromatographies. In the presence of GWE-2c, strong immunoactivity in Peyers patch cell-mediated bone marrow cells was observed in vitro. In vivo intestinal immune-modulating activity was also enhanced by crude phenolic compound (GWE) of G. amansii in a dose-dependent manner. Investigation of production of several cytokines in Peyer's patch cells upon stimulation with GWE in vivo revealed the levels of granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) and interleukin (IL)-6 increased. Results suggest that the phenolic compound from G. amansii represents immunopotentiator and biological response modifier at in vitro and in vivo levels.

Sn-Bi-Ag계 땜납과 Cu기판과의 젖음성, 계면 반응 및 기계적 성질에 관한 연구 (A Study on Wetting, Interfacial Reaction and Mechanical Properties between Sn-Bi-Ag System Solders and Cu Substrate)

  • Solderability, interfacial reaction and mechanical properties of joint between Sn-Bi-Ag base solder and Cu-substrate were studied. Solders were subjected to aging treatments to see the change of mechanical properties for up to 30 days at $100^{\circ}C$, and then also examined the changes of microstructure and morphology of interfacial compound. Sn-Bi-Ag base solder showed about double tensile strength comparing to Pb-Sn eutectic solder. Addition of 0.7wt%Al in the Sn-Bi-Ag alloy increase spread area on Cu substrate under R-flux and helps to reduce the growth of intermetallic compound during heat-treatment. According to the aging experiments of Cu/solder joint, interfacial intermetallic compound layer was exhibited a parabolic growth to aging time. The result of EDS, it is supposed that the soldered interfacial zone was composed of $Cu_6Sn_5$.

Monoterpenoids Concentration during Decomposition and Their Effect on Polysphondylium violaceum

  • The total monoterpenoid content of the pine litter layer and the availability of these compounds as inhibitors/stimulators on Polysphondylium violaceum of cellular slime molds were investigated. In order to determine the several monoterpenoids in the natural environment, we examined their concentrations in fresh, senescent, and decaying needles from 3 pine species (Pinus densiflora, P. thunbergii, P. rigida) by litter bag method. Total monoterpenoid content was highest in the fresh needles, but also remained relatively high in senescent needles. The effect of monoterpenoids identified from Pinus plants on the growth of P. violaceum was studied. We tested four concentrations (1, 0.1, 0.01, and $0.001\;{\mu}g/{\mu}L$) of each compound by using a disk volatilization technique. Each compound was treated after germination of spores of P. violaceum. All of the compounds at $1\;{\mu}g/{\mu}L$ concentration had a very strong inhibitory effect on cell growth of P. violaceum. Fenchone at all concentrations, myrcene, verbenone, bornyl acetate, and limonene at low concentrations stimulated the growth of P. violaceum. These results suggest that inhibitory or enhancing effects of selected monoterpenoids depend upon the concentration of the individual compound.

Effects of the buffer layer annealing and post annealing temperature on the structural and optical properties of ZnO nanorods grown by a hydrothermal synthesis

  • The zinc oxide (ZnO) material as the II-VI compound semiconductor is useful in various fields of device applications such as light-emitting diodes (LEDs), solar cells and gas sensors due to its wide direct band gap of 3.37eV and high exciton binding energy of 60meV at room temperature. In this study, the ZnO nanorods were deposited onto homogenous buffer layer/Si(100) substrates by a hydrothermal synthesis. The Effects of the buffer layer annealing and post annealing temperature on the structural and optical properties of ZnO nanorods grown by a hydrothermal synthesis were investigated. For the buffer layer annealing case, the annealed buffer layer surface became rougher with increasing of annealing temperature up to $750^{\circ}C$, while it was smoothed with more increasing of annealing temperature due to the evaporation of buffer layer. It was found that the roughest surface of buffer layer improved the structural and optical properties of ZnO nanorods. For the post annealing case, the hydrothermally grown ZnO nanorods were annealed with various temperatures ranging from 450 to $900^{\circ}C$. Similarly in the buffer layer annealing case, the post annealing enhanced the properties of ZnO nanorods with increasing of annealing temperature up to $750^{\circ}C$. However, it was degraded with further increasing of annealing temperature due to the violent movement of atoms and evaporation. Finally, the buffer layer annealing and post annealing treatment could efficiently improve the properties of hydrothermally grown ZnO nanorods. The morphology and structural properties of ZnO nanorods grown by the hydrothermal synthesis were measured by atomic force microscopy (AFM), field emission scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and x-ray diffraction (XRD). The optical properties were also analyzed by photoluminescence (PL) measurement.

작약 식물체 부위별 성분 함량 변이 (Variation of Bioactive Component Contents in Plant Parts of Paeonia lactiflora Pall.)

  • 4년생 의성작약을 재료로 하여 작약의 주 이용부위인 약근 외에 뇌두, 줄기, 잎과 같은 작약 식물체 각 부위로 시료를 구분하고, 또한 작약근의 경우 관행적 법제시 박피를 통해 제거되는 코르크층과 코르크층의 유 무에 따라 유피근 및 거피근으로 구분하여 각 시료에 함유된 작약 주요 생리활성 성분의 함량 분포를 검토한 결과 작약 식물체 부위별 paeoniflorin, albiflorin 및 phenolic compounds의 각 함량은 뇌두가 뿌리보다 높은 양상을 나타내었다. 또한 기능성 물질로 평가되는 gallic acld 및 benzoic acid는 작약의 잎과 줄기에도 상당히 많은 양이 존재하였고, 특히 잎에는 paeoniflorln도 약 2.3%가 존재하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 현재까지 번식용으로만 이용되어온 작약의 뇌두도 약재로서의 이용 가능성을 체계적으로 검토할 필요가 있을 것이며, 작약의 잎 및 줄기도 gallic acid 및 그 유도체들의 source가 될 수 있으므로 이들 부위의 이용성도 체계적으로 검토되어야 할 것이다. 한편 작약근에 함유된 유용 생리활성 성분들은 목부와 껍질부위의 코르크층에 함께 존재하였다 특히 albiflorin, gallic acid, benzoic acid 및 (-)-epicatechin 성분은 코르크층에 많이 존재하였고, 목부에 더 많은 양이 존재하는 성분은 paeoniflorin, (+)-taxifolin $3-O-{\beta}-D-glucopyranoside$ 및 (+)-catechin이었다. 결국 작약근 이용시 코르크층을 벗기면 albiflorin을 포함한 유용성분의 손실이 발생되고, phenol 성 물질의 분비로 외면의 갈변이 유도되므로 상품의 질을 떨어뜨리는 원인이 된다. 그러므로 작약근의 이용 시 거피를 하지 않는 것이 유용성분의 활용 면에서도 유리하고, 수치작업에 대한 노력이 감소되므로 경제적 측면에서도 유리한 것으로 평가된다.

시효 처리에 의한 42Sn-58Bi 솔더와 무전해 Ni-P/치환 Au UBM 간의 계면 반응 (Interfacial Reaction between 42Sn-58 Bi Solder and Electroless Ni-P/Immersion Au UBM during Aging)

  • 42Sn-58Bi 솔더(이하 wt.$\%$에 의한 표기)와 무전해 Ni-P/치환 Au under bump metallurgy (UBM) 간의 계면 반응을 intermetallic compound (IMC)의 형성과 성장, UBM의 감소, 그리고 범프 전단강도의 영향 관점에서 시효 처리 전 후에 어떠한 변화가 생기는 지를 알아보고자 하였다. 치환 Au 층을 $5{\mu}m$ 두께의 무전해 Ni-P ($14{\~}15 at.\%$ P)위에 세 가지 각기 다른 두께, 즉 $0{\mu}m$(순수한 무전해 Ni-P UBM), $0.1{\mu}m$, $1{\mu}m$로 도금하였다. 그 후 42Sn-58Bi 솔더 범프를 세 가지 다른 UBM 구조에 스크린프린팅 방식으로 형성하였다. 범프 형성 직후에는 세 가지 다른 UBM구조에서 솔더와 UBM 사이에 공통적으로 $Ni_3Sn_4$ IMC (IMC1) 만이 형성됐다. 하지만, 이를 $125^{\circ}C$에서 시효 처리를 할 경우 특이하게 Au를 함유한 UBM 구조에서는 $Ni_3Sn_4$ 위로 또 다른 4원계 화합물 (IMC2)이 관찰되었다. 원자 비로 $Sn_{77}Ni{15}Bi_6Au_2$인 4원계 화합물로 확인되었다. $Sn_{77}Ni{15}Bi_6Au_2$ 층은 솔더 조인트의 접합성에 매우 치명적인 영향을 미쳤다. 시효 처리를 거친 Au를 함유한 UBM 구조에서 솔더 범프의 전단 강도 값은 시효 처리 전에 비해 $40\%$ 이상의 감소를 보였다.

  • 유기화합물인 alkyl sulfonate를 층상이중수산화물에 삽입시킨 화합물을 합성하였다. X-선 회절 데이터와 alkyl sulfonate의 분자의 크기를 비교하여 층간 삽입된 alkyl sulfonate의 공간배열을 확입하였다. 층간 삽입된 alkyl sulfonate의 분자 사슬이 이중수산화물의 층에 수직되며 서로 반대 방향으로 배열되어 있음을 확인하였다.

위성 열제어 부품 이차면경상의 수상돌기 성장 매카니즘 분석 (Dendrite Growth Analysis of Satellite SSM(Second Surface Mirror))

  • 본 연구는 위성 열제어 주요 구성품중 하나인 SSM(이차면경) 표면에서 나타난 수상돌기(Dendrite) 현상에 대한 고장탐구 수행 내역과 그 결과를 정리한 것이다. 본 고장탐구 시편 시험을 통하여 SSM 표면의 은도금 층은 황 또는 염소 화합물이 함유된 환경에 장기간 직접 노출시키는 경우, 은도금 층이 황화 변색되는 현상이 나타날 수 있음을 확인하였으며 SSM 수상돌기(Dendrite) 현상을 방지하기 위해서는 가황 처리된 고무 패드와 직접 접촉하지 않도록 격리 보관할 필요가 있음을 알 수 있었다.

  • Acidic polysaccharide from Korean red ginseng was found to inhibit pancreatic lipase activity and cause reduction of plasma triglyceride level after oral administration of corn oil emulsion to rats. Thus acidic polysaccharide may reduce plasma triglyceride through its inhibitory action on pancreatic lipase and successive inhibition of intestinal absorption of fat due to reduction of lipolysis. In the course of this experiment, we found an unknown ninhydrin positive substance in Korean red ginseng. The unknown substance was identified to be arginyl-fructosyl glucose(Arg - Fru - Glc). Coment of this new compound was $5.37\%$ in Korean red ginseng powder. Sucrase and maltase activities in mucous layer of rat jejunum were found to be inhibited by Arg-Fru-Glc. Physiological significance of the new compound was discussed based on these experimental results.
