  • Recently in the automotive brake industry brake squeal noise has become one of the top automotive quality warranty issues. The contact pressure is used to predict friction coupling in the brake squeal analysis. The formulation of friction coupling has performed by nonlinear static analysis prior to the complex eigenvalue analysis. This paper proposes a validation methodology of squeal analysis using modal testing and contact analysis and examines the effect of predicted contact pressure that leads to the discrepancy between unstable complex mode and squeal frequency. This studies compose a three step validation process : examining the modal characteristics of component and assembly loaded contact pressure using modal testing and FEM analysis and verifying the contact pressure distribution using nonlinear static analysis and experiment. Finally, the unstable modes from complex eigenvalue analysis and realistic squeal frequency from the noise dynamometer are investigated.

  • The paper focuses on conception and development of complex systems composed mainly by a pump syringe subsystem and an electronically injector that facilitates patients saving data operation for medical staff use. We successfully developed conventional approaches for medical system staff requirements, such as system boundary conditions. Decisions at a given level are studied. We propose a complex system architecture, based mainly on patients collected data and ordered stepper injection parameters. System is successfully simulated and prototyped. Design and implement tests are accomplished, the proposed system ensures both the electric syringe pump and the electric injector operation. In addition, this new system introduces several additional options as patient database development and automation injection operation. Development and software operating tests to create a visualization control interface are validated. The solution performs syringe function and electronic injector. User can manage a syringe in two C modes of technology. We propose a program composed of two linked parts. If an error such radiologist bad target selection is made, an image with lower intrinsic quality emerges. Developed Shoot syringe different electronic cards are simulated and prototyped, in addition, maps are driven, prototype. All tests results are accomplished.

  • Remarkably high and stable separation performance for olefin/paraffin mixtures was previously reported by facilitated olefin transport through ${\pi}$-complex membranes consisting of silver ions dissolved in poly(hexamethylenevinylene) (PHMV). In this study, the ${\pi}$-complex formation of $AgBF_4,\;AgClO_4\;and\;AgCF_{3}SO_3$ with PHMV and their ionic interactions were investigated. FT-Raman spectroscopy showed that the C=C stretching bands of PHMV shifted to a lower frequency upon incorporation of silver salt, but the degree of peak shift depended on the counter-anions of salt due to different complexation strengths. The symmetric stretching modes of anions indicated the presence of only free ions up to [C=C]:[Ag]=1:1, demonstrating the unusually high solubility of silver salt in PHMV. Above the solubility limit, the ion pairs and higher-order ionic aggregates started to form. The coordination number of silver ion for C=C of PHMV was in the order $AgBF_4$ > $AgClO_4$ > $AgCF_{3}SO_3$, but became similar at [C=C]:[Ag]=1:1. The different coordination number was interpreted in terms of the different transient crosslinks of silver cations in the complex, which may be related to both the interaction strength of the polymer/silver ion and the bulkiness of the counteranion.

  • In the first paper of this research$^{(1)}$. a new time series method. directional ARMAX (dARMAX) model-based approach. was proposed for rotordynamics identification. The dARMAX processes complex-valued signals, utilizing the complex modal testing theory which enables the separation of the backward and forward modes in the two-sided frequency domain and makes effective modal parameter identification possible. to account for the dynamic characteristics inherent in rotating machinery. In this second part. an evaluation of its performance characteristics based on both simulated and experimental data is presented. Numerical simulations are carried out to show that the method. a complex time series method. successfully implements the complex modal testing in the time domain. and it is superior in nature to the conventional ARMAX and the frequency-domain methods in the estimation of the modal parameters for isotropic and weakly anisotropic rotor systems. Experiments are carried out to demonstrate the applicability and the effectiveness of the dARMAX model-based approach, following the proposed fitting strategy. for the rotordynamics identification.

  • Modern production systems are very complex by request of automation, and failure modes that occur in thisautomatic system are very various and complex. The efficient fault diagnosis for these complex systems is essential for productivity loss prevention and cost saving. Traditional fault diagnostic system which perforns sequential fault diagnosis can cause catastrophic failure during diagnosis when fault propagation is very fast. This paper describes the Real-time Intelligent Multiple Fault Diagnosis System (RIMFDS). RIMFDS assesses current machine condition by using sensor signals. This system deals with multiple fault diagnosis, comprising of two main parts. One is a personal computer for remote signal generation and transmission and the other is a host system for multiple fault diagnosis. The signal generator generates various faulty signals and image information and sends them to the host. The host has various modules and agents for efficient multiple fault diagnosis. A SUN workstation is used as a host for multiple fault modules and agents for efficient multiple fault diagnosis. A SUN workstation is used as a host for multiple fault diagnosis and graphic representation of the results. RIMFDS diagnoses multiple faults with fast fault propagation and complex physical phenomenon. The new system based on multiprocessing diagnoses by using Hierarchical Artificial Neural Network (HANN).

  • The solution of anisotropic plate via the classical methods is limited to relatively load and boundary conditions. If these conditions are more complex, the analysis becomes increasingly tedious and even impossible. For many plate problems of considerable practical interest, analytic solutions to the governing differential equations cannot be found. Among the numerical techniques presently available, the finite difference method and the finite element method are powerful numerical methods. The objective of this paper is to compare with each numerical methods for the buckling load and modes of anisotropic composite laminated plates considering shear deformation. In applying numerical methods to solve differential equations of anisotropic plates, this study uses the finite difference method and the finite element method. In determining the eigenvalue by Finite Difference Method, this paper represent good convergence compared with Finite Element Method. Several numerical examples and buckling modes show the effectiveness of various numerical methods and they will give a guides in deciding minimum buckling load and various mode shapes.

  • This study details grain-size distributions (GSDs) of carbonate and biogenic opal fractions of the sediments retrieved from the South Korea Plateau in the East Sea and draws paleocanographic implications from them. The opal-fraction GSDs show fine modes of 10.3 ㎛ and coarse modes of 102.5 ㎛ on average. The fine-mode grains of opal fractions mainly consist of small diatoms and radiolarians including their broken frustules, while the coarse-mode grains are mostly comprised of large warm-water diatoms and radiolarians. Significant positive correlation between opal contents and abundances of the coarse-mode GSDs in the total GSDs suggests that the abundances of the coarse-mode GSDs were controlled by the increased surface productivity of warm-water diatoms during interglacial stages. The carbonate-fraction GSDs show fine modes of 2.4 ㎛ and coarse modes of 99.1 ㎛ on average. The fine-mode grains mainly consist of coccolithophores, while the coarse-mode grains are mostly comprised of intact or broken planktonic foraminifera. The abundances of coarse-mode and fine-mode GSDs were not correlated with carbonate contents, suggesting a complex control exerted by both the degree of carbonate dissolution and the productivity of coccolithophores on the carbonate-fraction GSDs.

  • An aircraft wing or fuselage panel of skin-stringer assembly can fail in a variety of instable modes under compression loads. Instability modes can be buckling of the panel, local buckling of the stringer, flexure, torsion, wrinkle and combined flexural/torsional buckling of the panel assembly. Although researches on these buckling behaviors have been carried out for a long time, there are some difficulties to apply to the practice because of complex theoretical and empirical equations. Accordingly, It is well known that leading aerospace companies are using their own in-house programs for the convenience of practical usage, but our domestic situation is that no such program has been ever developed. In this study a comprehensive program has been developed, which can identify the instability modes and the magnitude of reserve factor of the modes for the skin/stringer panel assembly under compression load. The developed program is based on the theory manual of the Airbus program APA114. For the verification, calculation of the instable reserve factors for the A320 wing panel and A380 low wing panel sections were carried out and compared with results by APA114.

  • We need two operation modes to obtain the complex hologram without bias and the conjugate image in the modified triangular interferometer(MTI). To solve the problem, we proposed the optimized MTI with one wave plate, which can obtain cosine and sine functions by the combination of one wave plate and one linear polarizer. In the extraction of phase term using the combination of polarization components, the phase error occurs, and we simulated such potential phase errors in the optimized MTI.

  • In the present study a mesh generation program is developed for three dimensional flow analyses with complex geometry. By the present program one can define vertices using various coordinate systems and cells for finite volume approach. Rendered display of the generated mesh can be also available in both orthographic and perspective projection modes. Through perspective projection mode, one can check the quality of generated mesh by moving around inside the mesh like a virtual reality. The examples of the program execution is given in the paper.
