Successive iteration of geometrical optics(GO)is suggested to calculate wedge diffraction fields. For a wedge and given source, the GO field may be obtained when the fields by the half spaces are found and the shadow regions are determined. Furthermore, one may caluculate the sources which are equivalent to the discontinuities of the GO field along the shadow boundaries and form a new wedge problem with the equivalent sources instead of the original one. It is shown that the field by the wedge and the equivalent sources equals to the diffraction field which GO requires for the complete solution. Also, it is shown that the field generated by the equivalent sources in the unbounded space, or the incident field in the new wedge problem, equls to the diffraction field approximated by the physical optics. The new wedge problem is solved here by another application of the GO to approximate the diffraction field and the result is compared with that by the physical optics. For a validity of the successive iteration of GO , infinite iteration of GO is performed analytically and the convergence is examined ofr conducting wedges, of which the exact solution is available.

Under ubiquitous environment, applications can gather and utilize various sensing information. There are many issues such as energy management, protocol standardization, independency on sensor fields, and security to be resolved for the complete ubiquitous computing. Especially, the independent information access in the sensor field is one of the most important issues to maximize the usability of sensors in various sensor fields. However, existing frameworks are not suitable for the ubiquitous computing environment because of data heterogeneity between data elements in sensor fields. Existing applications are dependent to sensor fields and sensors in the existing ubiquitous computing on environment is dependent to the application in the sensor field. In other word, an application can utilize just information from a specific sensor field. To overcome this restriction, many issues from a hardware or software view must be resolved. In this paper, we provide the design and implementation of the Metadata Registry-based framework (UbiMDR) of the Ubiquitous environment. This framework can provides the semantic interoperability among ubiquitous applications or various sensor fields. In addition, we describe comparison evaluation between conventional Ubiquitous computing framework and UbiMDR framework with data accuracy of interoperability.
In recent years, the importance of proteomic works, such as protein expression, detection and identification, has grown in the fields of proteomic and diagnostic research. This is because complete genome sequences of humans, and other organisms, progress as cellular processing and controlling are performed by proteins as well as DNA or RNA. However, conventional I protein analyses are time-consuming; therefore, high throughput protein analysis methods, which allow fast, direct and quantitative detection, are needed. These are so-called protein microarrays or protein chips, which have been developed to fulfill the need for high-throughput protein analyses. Although protein arrays are still in their infancy, technical development in immobilizing proteins in their native conformation on arrays, and the development of more sensitive detection methods, will facilitate the rapid deployment of protein arrays as high-throughput protein assay tools in proteomics and diagnostics. This review summarizes the basic technologies that are needed in the fabrication of protein arrays and their recent applications.
The automatic construction of large, high-resolution image mosaics is an active area of reasearch in the fields of photogrammetry, computer vision, image processing, and computer graphics. In this study, we describe a automatic mosaicing method that makes a panorama from images by placing camera in a emitted-grid. In the images captured by cameras, there must be a matched area and the area is in the particular area of the image. Initial transformation matrix, there(ore, is calculated from points searched in the partial area. It is possible to find best transformation matrix by Levenberg-Marquardt method. Finally, each images are multiplied by blending function and stitched by the transformation matrix to complete panoramic image.
To investigate the structure of internal flow hydrodynamically, the complete vertical equation of motion should be assembled into the model. In the present study a numerical simulation model not hydrodynamically approximated is established. From the comparison of the predicted results with the computed results from k-$ two equation turbulence model by Huh et. al.(1991)and the experimental data by Nakatsuji(1984), the vertical acceleration and its effects on the development of buoyant surface jets are evaluated quantitatively.
This paper shows the analysis of the inductive power transfer system in conjunction with series resonant converter operating variable high frequency. Of particular interest is the sensitivity of the complete system to variations in operational frequency and parameters. In inductive power transfer system, electrical power is transferred from a primary winding in the form of a coil or track, to one or more isolated pick-up coils that may relative to the primary. The ability to transmit power without contact enables high reliability and easy maintenance that allows inductive power transfer system to be implemented in hostile environments. This technology has found application in many fields such as electric vehicles, PRT(Personal Rapid Transit) etc. The coupling between the primary and secondary is then presented to include the effects of parameter and operational frequency variation.
The position vector field x is the most elementary and natural geometric object on a Euclidean submanifold M. The position vector field plays very important roles in mathematics as well as in physics. Similarly, the tangential component $x^T$ of the position vector field is the most natural vector field tangent to the Euclidean submanifold M. We simply call the vector field $x^T$ the canonical vector field of the Euclidean submanifold M. In earlier articles [4,5,9,11,12], we investigated Euclidean submanifolds whose canonical vector fields are concurrent, concircular, torse-forming, conservative or incompressible. In this article we study Euclidean submanifolds with conformal canonical vector field. In particular, we characterize such submanifolds. Several applications are also given. In the last section we present three global results on complete Euclidean submanifolds with conformal canonical vector field.

TSP(Traveling Salesman Problem) is a famous problem in Operations Research fields due to its applicability to various problems. It is also well-known that the problem is hard to solve in reasonable time, since it is in the NP-Complete class. Hence it is desired to develop heuristics which have polynominal complexity and also solve the problem to near-optimality. This paper presents a heuristic algorithm for TSP using the concept of dynamic programming. The proposed method has the complexity of O(N$\^$3/), and gives improved solutions than other well-known algorithms in our extensive computational experiments.

Space development program is a large and complex system consisting of a multi-disciplinary high-end technologies and it is important to implement a program management system connected with systems engineering as well as to develop critical technologies. Major organizations in space fields carry out effective budget execution management and operation according to the strategy and objective of space development using information systems. Korea Space Launch Vehicle II(KSLV-II) has adopted a cost management plan using a system engineering to complete the program within the assigned schedule and budget. This paper introduces the budget execution management system applied to KSLV-II budget management and the budget execution dashboard system for supporting program decision making.

In this work we first review the statistical data on large fires in urban areas, presenting a detailed list of causes of fires, the type of damage to concrete and reinforced concrete structures. We also present the modern experimental approach for studying the fire-resistance of different structural components, along with the role of numerical modeling to provide more detailed information on quantifying the temperature and heat flux fields. In the last part of this work we provide the refined models for assessment of fire-induced damage in structures built of concrete and/or reinforced-concrete. We show that the refined models of this kind are needed to provide a more thorough explanation of damage and to complete the damage assessment and post-fire evaluations.
