We setup the system to measure the noise characteristics of the 5M complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) image sensor by generic measurement indicator of Standard mobile imaging architecture (SMIA) which is one of internal standard of mobile imaging architecture. To evaluate the effect of environment and setting parameters, such as temperature and integration time, we measure the variation of the dark signal, dynamic range and fixed pattern noise of image sensor. We also detect the number of defective pixels and cluster defects defined as adjacent single defect pixels at 5M CMOS image sensor. Then, we find the existence of some cluster defects in experiment, which are not expected in calculation.
The fragmentation pattern of four hindered phenol antioxidants was investigated using ammonium and lithium ions as the additives for ionization. Due to different binding geometries and interactions, they underwent different characteristic fragmentation reactions providing useful complementary information for structural analysis of hindered phenol antioxidants. Ammonium ion adducts were fragmented successively until all t-butyl groups were lost in the form of isobutylene and allowed the estimation of the number of t-butyl groups present in the molecule. Lithium ion adducts produced fragment ions from major backbone cleavage, on the other hand, which provide more crucial information for the identification of detailed backbone structure.
This paper presents a light exposure correction algorithm for less pleasant images, acquired with a light metering failure. Since conventional tone mapping and gamma correction methods adopt a function mapping with the same range of input and output, the results are pleasurable for almost symmetric distributions to their intensity average. However, their corrections gave insufficient outputs for asymmetric cases at either bright or dark regions. Also, histogram modification approaches show good results on varied pattern images, but these generate unintentional noises at flat regions because of the compulsive shift of the intensity distribution. Therefore, in order to sufficient corrections for both bright and dark areas, the proposed algorithm calculates the gamma coefficients using primary parameters extracted from the global distribution. And the fusion weights are adaptively determined with complementary parameters, considering the classification information of a binary segmentation. As the result, the proposed algorithm can obtain a good output about both the symmetric and the asymmetric distribution images even with severe exposure values.
Multi-carrier waveforms have several advantages over single-carrier waveforms for radar communication. Employing multi-carrier complementary phase-coded (MCPC) waveforms in radar applications has recently attracted significant attention. MCPC radar signals take advantage of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing properties, and several authors have explored the use of MCPC signals and the difficulties associated with their implementation. The sidelobe level and peak-to-mean-envelope-power ratio (PMEPR) are the key issues that must be addressed to improve the performance of radar signals. We propose a scheme that applies pattern-based scaling and geometric progression methods to enhance sidelobe and PMEPR levels in MCPC radar signals. Numerical results demonstrate the improvement of sidelobe and PMEPR levels in the proposed scheme. Additionally, autocorrelations are obtained and analyzed by applying the proposed scheme in extensive simulation experiments.

In this parer, parabolic edge planar monopole antenna for UWB communication is presented. The antenna have broadband property structurally through planar monopole and ground which have parabolic edge. It is designed close to self-complementary structure as changing curvature of edge of monopole and ground. Monopole and ground of proposed antenna exist on coplanar plane, and excite as coaxial feeding. It used FR4 dielectric substrate of ${\varepsilon}_r=4.4$, and the size is $26{\times}31{\times}1.6mm$. Return loss is more than 10 dB in $3.1{\sim}10.6GHz$. Radiation pattern is about the same that of dipole antenna at all frequency. At measured result, max gain is $1.37{\sim}6.02dBi$ at E-plane.

Measurement of deflections of certain bridges is usually hampered by corruption of the GPS signal by multipath associated with passing vehicles, resulting to unrealistically large apparent displacements. Field data from the Gorgopotamos train bridge in Greece and systematic experiments revealed that such bias is due to superimposition of two major effects, (i) changes in the geometry of satellites because of partial masking of certain satellites by the passing vehicles (this effect can be faced with solutions excluding satellites that get temporarily blocked by passing vehicles) and (ii) dynamic multipath caused from reflection of satellite signals on the passing trains, a high frequency multipath effect, different from the static multipath. Dynamic multipath seems to have rather irregular amplitude, depending on the geometry of measured satellites, but a typical pattern, mainly consisting of a baseline offset, wide base peaks correlating with the sequence of main reflective surfaces of the vehicles passing next to the antenna. In cases of limited corruption of GPS signal by dynamic multipath, corresponding to scale distortion of the short-period component of the GPS waveforms, we propose an algorithm which permits to reconstruct the waveform of bridge deflections using a weak fusion of GPS and RTS data, based on the complementary characteristics of the two instruments. By application of the proposed algorithm we managed to extract semi-static and dynamic displacements and oscillation frequencies of a historical railway bridge under train loading by using noisy GPS and RTS recordings. The combination of GPS and RTS is possible because these two sensors can be fully collocated and have complementary characteristics, with RTS and GPS focusing on the long- and short-period characteristics of the displacement, respectively.
Ambidexterity in organizations, in general, is interpreted as flexibility that enables organizational innovation, which is important for survival in a competitive market. It applies to individual workers as well since the ambidexterity of explorational and exploitational IS use will enable the flexible transition between dynamic and operational work, and hence, increase the work performance. The current study will therefore investigate the individual levels of exploratory and exploitative IS use, as well as the complementary relationship between exploratory and exploitative IS use. In a third step, the differential influence of IS on work performance will be evaluated. The current study validated that complementary fit of IS use exploration and IS use exploitation increases performance. Polynomial regression and surface analysis are used to validate the incongruence of IS use pattern. They showed that the incongruence of ambidexterity is composed of two types of divergent vs. convergent ambidexterity which depends on the type of work that need dynamic or operational capability.

In MPEG-2 video standard, there are many parameters to support profiles and levels. It is necessary to verify that a decoder is compliant with the MPEG-2 standard. This paper proposes a design principle of the test bitstreams which confirms that an MPEG video decoder is correct by observing the final image of the decoder under test. The presented test bitstream is composed of two parts. The first part generates a test pattern by varying a selected test parameter. And the following predictive coded picture generates a complementary pattern to the previous image by motion compensation and DCT coefficients. Then it will result in a uniform pattern. We present several bitstreams following the proposed principle. Also we analyze and compare the characteristics of the test bitstreams presented in the MPEG conformance test and the proposed test bistreams.

Objective : Biologic responses to color stimulation was observed and analyzed in relation with Korean medicine diagnostics. Methods : Twelve volunteers participated and completed the questionnaire on Hanyeol or Joseup patterns of Korean medicine diagnostics. Standard deviation of RR intervals (SDNN), an overall indicator of heart rate variability, was measured while wearing partially transparent acetate film glasses of various colors: (1) transparency or black, (2) red, green, or blue, or (3) cyan, or yellow. Results : Different responses to the color environmental stimulation were observed. Yeol pattern score was inversely related with the SDNN value under red color stimulation. Conclusion : This line of observations may serve as a basis of clinical application of color therapy, in particular, in relation with pattern diagnosis of Korean medicine, and may be applied in combination with existing electrodermal meridian measurement systems for better evaluation of Gi (life energy) phenomenon.

Background: There has no known epidemiologic survey on the frequency of complementary-alternative medicine (CAM) use in the treatment of adult asthma in Korea. This study examined the current use of CAM by asthma patients in Korea. Methods: One hundred adults with asthma, who had been admitted to Kyunghee university hospital between January 2000 and December 2003, were enrolled in this survey. They received a structured questionnaire interview and a clinical assessment of prevalence and pattern of CAM use. Results: 53% patients had an experience of at least one type of CAM during their asthma management. Users of CAM had more hospital visits than those who had never used CAM($1.46{\pm}0.68$ vs. $2.11{\pm}1.20$, p=0.001). Those in their $50^{th}$ decades had more experience of CAM (80%) than the other age groups. The methods of CAM used by our patients are as follows: Diet/nutritional therapy in 35 patients(69%), herbal therapy in 28 patients(53%), acupuncture in 9 patients(17%), moxa treatment in 6 patients(11%), breathing exercises in 1 patient(2%). Conclusions: More than 50% of patients with bronchial asthma have used CAM. A more detailed and large scaled study will be needed to define the actual status of the use of CAM in the treatment for asthma. Inaddition, further research on the scientific validation of the clinical efficacy of CAM in asthma management should be followed.
