  • The measurement parameter of QiguㆍInyoung pulse diagnosis distinguishes the excess, deficiency and quick-temper of pulse through relative comparison of Qigu and Inyoung. We have estimated the relationship between measurement of QiguㆍInyoung pulse wave detection system and measurement of manual pulse diagnosis by means of quantifying pulse peak and Inyoung/Qigu index. The results can be summarized as follows : When standardizing manual pulse diagnosis measurement was standardized, Inyoung index of machinery measurement was more significantly correlative with the index of manual pulse diagnosis than Qigu index of machinery measurement. The ratio of Inyoung/Qigu magnitude with machinery measurement was doser to manual pulse diagnosis than that of Qigu and Inyoung pulse magnitude measured separately. A linear proportion relationship was found between measurement of QiguㆍInyoung pulse wave detection system and measurement of manual pulse diagnosis. It was necessary to adjust the output signal of pulse in order to estimate the exact relationship between measurement of QiguㆍInyoung pulse wave detection system and measurement of manual pulse diagnosis.

  • Particular attention is paid to the validity of PM-10 measurement using beta attenuation method. In this study, the inter-comparison studies were undertaken for PM-10 sampler with different measuring methods. The three beta attenuation monitoring instruments (BAM1020, FH C-14, and DIGS-150) and filter based gravitational method using High Volume Air Sampler were collocated and mass concentrations were compared from August to November, 2006. The results of the investigation show that beta attenuation monitoring instruments are comparable with gravitational method within 10% of measurement error. For specific conditions under high humidity and high concentrations, the inter-comparison results also showed a relatively good agreement and this can be explained as the effect of inlet heating of beta attenuation instrument. Subsequently, this study shows that beta attenuation monitoring instruments can be equivalently used with reasonable validity when compared gravimetric method.

  • The characteristics of hull-pieces are large quantity, comparatively large piece-size, and different each shape. For the more, in the forming process(including Line-Heating Process) of curved hull pieces, shape checking processes including initial shape measurement and forming shape measurement of the each pieces are needed to achieve a given accuracy. So, the forming process of large curved hull pieces needs efficient measurement and comparison technique to check the shape and ensure the forming-accuracy In this paper, we try to construct integrated S/W, H/W system for efficient measurement and comparison of large curved hull pieces, which can apply to above forming environment.

  • Dosimetry of radiating electromagnetic wave from mobile devices to human body has been evaluated by measuring Specific Absorption Rate (SAR). Usual SAR measurement system scans the volume by robot arm to evaluate RF power absorption to human body from wireless devices. It is possible to fast estimate the volume SAR by software deleting robot moving time with the 2D surface SAR data acquired by arrayed probes. This paper shows the principle of fast SAR measurement and the measured data comparison between the fast SAR system and the robot scanning system. Data of the fast SAR is well corresponding with data of robot scanning SAR within ${\pm}3$ dB, and its dynamic range covers from 10 mW/kg to 30 W/kg with 4.8 mm probe diameter.

  • This paper describes a design of simple and precision direction finder that can be adapted to shipboard or mobile vehicles used for Electronic support measure, ELINT and radio signal monitoring systems. The direction finding technology has improved with monolithic integrated circuit, linear array antennas, and interferometer. Interferometer uses the phase-comparison principle and has a good direction finding accuracy but it has an ambiguity problem. We suggest a simple ambiguity solver using phase-comparison technology with amplitude-comparison principle. The direction finding device that has been designed by the suggested method has 0.7 degree RMS error in azimuth angle and 0.6 degree RMS error in elevation angle in 0.5 - 2.0 GHz.

  • In this study, a 3D coordinate measurement system equipped with a laser displacement meter for digitizing rock joint surface was established and the digitized data were used to calculate several roughness parameters. The parameters used in this study were micro avenge inclination $angle(i_{ave})$, average slope of joint $asperity(SL_{ ave})$, root mean square of $i-angle(i_{rms})$, standard deviation of height(SDH), standard deviation of $i-angle(SD_i)$, roughness profile $index(R_P)$, and fractal dimension(D). The relationships between the roughness parameters based on the digitzation of the surface profile were analyzed. Since the measured value varied according to the degree of reflection and the variation of colors at the measuring point, rock joint surface was painted in white to minimize the influence of the surface conditions. The comparison of the measured values and roughness parameters before and after painting revealed the better consequence from measurement on the painted surfaces. Also, effect of measuring interval was studied. As measured interval was increased, roughness parameters were exponentially decreased. The incremental sequence of degree of decrease was $SDH\; i_{ave},\; i_{rms},\; SD_i,\;and\; R_ p-1$. As a result of comparison of parameters from pin-type measurement system and laser type measurement system, all value of parameters were higher when laser-type measurement system was used, except SDH.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the secondary school students' reasoning types in regards to measurement and to get implications for science education. The subjects were 197 middle school students and 200 high school students. The PMQ1 written instrument was used to explore students' ideas. Students' ideas about measurement were classified in two types of point and set reasoning. The reasoning types distribution were analyzed by grade and measurement step such as data collection, data processing, and data comparison. Reasoning types distribution by measurement step indicated that set reasoning type showed high figures in data processing, but point reasoning type appeared in data collection, and data comparison. Set reasoning type increased significantly by grade in data comparison. The majority of students recognized that the true value of the measurand can not be determined.

  • With approval from the Asia Pacific Metrology Program Working Group on Materials Metrology (APMP WGMM), an international comparison for sheet resistance standards for silicon wafers was firstly conducted among Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS) in Korea, CMS/ITRI in Taiwan, and NIM in China, which are national metrology institutes (NMIs), from August 2011 to January 2012. The sheet resistance values of the standards are $10{\Omega}$, $100{\Omega}$, and $1000{\Omega}$; the measurement was conducted in sequence at KRISS, CMS/ITRI, NIM, and KRISS again using the four-point probe method with single and dual configuration techniques. The reference value for the measurement results of the three NMIs was obtained through averaging the values of the three results for each sheet resistance range. The differences between the reference value and the measured values is within 0.22% for $10{\Omega}$, 0.17% for $100{\Omega}$, and 0.12% for $1000{\Omega}$. Therefore, the international consistency for conducting sheet resistance measurements is confirmed within 0.22% through the APMP WGMM approved comparison.
