Voltage transformer(VT) comparison measurement system is usually used for measurements of ratio error and phase angle error of VT made in industry. Both ratio error and phase angle error in VT are critically influenced by values of burden of VT used. External burden effects on both ratio error and phase angle error in VT are theoretically calculated. From the theoretical calculation, a method of evaluation for linearity of ratio error and phase angle error in VT measurement system have been developed using the standard capacitive burdens, with negligible dissipation factor less than 10$^{-4}$. These burden consists of five standard capacitors, with nominal capacitance of 1.1 $\mu$F, 1 $\mu$F, 0.1 $\mu$F, 0.01 $\mu$F, 0.001 $\mu$F. The developed method has been applied in VT measurement system of industry, showing in good consistency and linearity within 0.001 $\%$ between theoretical and measured values.

This study focuses on the comparison of measured data from 6-DOF motion sensor and strain gauge installed in the IBRV ARAON during 2015 summer voyage in the Arctic. Procedures to calculate the global ice load from MotionPak II inertial measurement system and the local load from stain gauge system are discussed. The ship's speed and peak load are determined in the concept of an ice collision "event". It is found that the peak values in the global ice calculated form whole ship motion analysis fall in the range of 1.5~3 times of the local ice load based in strain gauge measurement.
In clinical settings, researchers often want to assess agreement between two measurements (or tests) of the same continuous variable. For example, when new point-of-care analyzer for testing blood glucose level were introduced clinicians need to compare results from standard or established laboratory method of measurement to those of new or point-of-care analyzer. The question in a method-comparison study would either of two different methods be used to measure the same variable equivalently. In this paper common misuse of statistical methodologies seen in the medical literatures such as correlation coefficient and paired t-test are discussed. The Bland-Altman technique has been widely used for this purpose and provides a graphic in presentation of the findings from a method-comparison study, with a mean value of measurement, this bias and the limits of agreement. For ease of application and interpretation of this technique we discussed the analysis procedure and illustrated with two worked examples. Finally, a number of alternative ways in which data can be analysed and reported in such studies were reviewed.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the weight measurement tasks according to children's ages and whether 4-to 6-year-old children use proper measurement equipment to measure weight. The study subjects were 105 preschool children: 37,38, and 30 4-, 5-, and 6-year-old children, respectively. The results showed that young children use 3 to 4 strategies. They used a strategy to estimate objects visually on the first step in measurement by direct comparison. On the second step, in measurement by nonstandard unit, they held up objects with one hand or two hands. That is, two strategies were shown in measuring objects with hands in this second step. On the third step, which is measured by standard unit, they used a strategy to choose the equal arm balance out of suggested measurement equipment.

Purpose: To verify the usability of tympanic temperature measurement for adults, a comparison of tympanic and axillary temperatures was done. Method: The study was conducted during October 2008, and participants were 110 female nursing students. Axillary temperatures were taken with glass mercury thermometers for 5, 7 and 10 minutes. Tympanic temperatures were taken with Infrared Thermometer IRT 4520 on both ears, twice at a 5-second interval. The data were analyzed using the SPSS 12.0 program. Results: In the 1st measurement, the mean for right tympanic temperatures ($0.06^{\circ}C$) and for left ($0.03^{\circ}C$) were significantly higher than the 2nd. A comparison of mean temperatures for right and left, showed that the mean for the left side on the 1st measurement was significantly higher ($0.01^{\circ}C$) than the right. Also the temperature on left side in the 2nd measurement was higher ($0.04^{\circ}C$) than the right 2nd, but not significantly higher. The mean temperature for right and left tympanic on 1 st and 2nd measurements were significantly higher than axilla for 5 minutes ($0.58^{\circ}C$), for 7 minutes ($0.52^{\circ}C$), and for 10 minutes ($0.43^{\circ}C$). The tympanic temperature was the most closely correlated with the axillary temperature at 10 minutes. Conclusion: Findings indicate that measurement of tympanic temperature is a useful alternative to axillary temperature taken for 10 minutes.

Non-destructive testing methods for composite materials (e.g., carbon fiber-reinforced and glass fiber-reinforced plastic) have been widely used to detect damage in the overall industry. This study detects defects using optical infrared thermography. The transient heat transport in a solid body is characterized by two dynamic quantities, namely, thermal diffusivity and thermal effusivity. The first quantity describes the speed with thermal energy diffuses through a material, whereas the second one represents a type of thermal inertia. The defect detection rate is increased by utilizing a lock-in method and performing a comparison of the defect detection rates. The comparison is conducted by dividing the irradiation method into reflection and transmission methods and the irradiation time into 50 mHz and 100 mHz. The experimental results show that detecting defects at 50 mHz is easy using the transmission method. This result implies that low-frequency thermal waves penetrate a material deeper than the high-frequency waves.

It is commonly recognized to need performance management for successful construction project. PPC measurement of Last Planner System is one of construction project measurement method. PPC measurement is quantitatively assessment to go through construction, and that is not completely to be trusted when compare a project with another or an individual case work with another in same project. According to, purpose of this study is comparison indicator establishment that compare project with another or an individual case work with another it is not use PPC measurement for quantitatively assessment to go through construction. The procedure of this study is derive of the point at issue of existing PPC measurement for a aim PPC measurement in this study expenditure and select weight about that and it is applied to actually construction.

Measurement of noise is not only to know the information of acoustic pressure but to assess human response to noise. To find human response to transportation noise through the laboratory study we have to measure and reproduce noise. The method of noise reproduction is largely divided into monaural and binaural techniques. But human fundamentally hears sound through both ears, referred as binaural hearing. Binaural signal is different from monaural signal because it includes more information of physical phenomena like acoustical reflection, diffraction and refraction. Especially head and pinna play an important role in perceiving change of signal origin. So, the amplitude of binaural signal is higher than that of monaural signal and spectrum of both signals is discriminated. Most of assessment and regulation of transportation noise are, however, based on monaural measurement techniques. The quantitative difference between monaural and binaural measurement is investigated in this study. Comparison on several transportation noisesshows defect of information in monaural measurements.

The demand for personal training (PT), through which high exercise effects can be achieved within short-term, has recently increased. PT can achieve an exercise amount improvement effect, only if accurate postures are maintained upon performing PT, and exercise with inaccurate postures can cause injuries. However, research is insufficient on exercise amount comparisons and judging exercise accuracy on PT. This study proposes an exercise accuracy measurement algorithm and compares differences in exercise amounts according to exercise postures through experiments using a respiratory gas analyzer. The exercise accuracy measurement algorithm acquires Euler anglesfrom major body parts operated upon exercise through a motion device, based on which the joint angles are calculated. By comparing the calculated joint angles with each reference angle in each exercise step, the status of exercise accuracy is judged. The calculated results of exercise accuracy on squats, lunges, and push-ups showed 0.02% difference in comparison with actually measured results through a goniometer. As a result of the exercise amount comparison experiment according to accurate posture through a respiratory gas analyzer, the exercise amount was higher by 45.19% on average in accurate postures. Through this, it was confirmed that maintaining accurate postures contributes to exercise amount improvement.
The wind field measurement of severe winds such as hurricanes (or typhoons), thunderstorm downbursts and other gales is important issue in wind engineering community, both for the construction and health monitoring of the wind-sensitive structures. Although several wireless data transmission systems have been available for the wind field measurement, most of them are not specially designed for the wind data measurement in structural wind engineering. Therefore, the field collection is still dominant in the field of structural wind engineering at present, especially for the measurement of the long-term and high-frequency wind speed data. In this study, for remote wind field measurement, a novel wireless long-term and high-frequency wind data acquisition system with the functions such as remote control and data compression is developed. The system structure and the collector are firstly presented. Subsequently, main functions of the collector are introduced. Also novel functions of the system and the comparison with existing systems are presented. Furthermore, the performance of this system is evaluated. In addition to as the wireless transmission for wind data and hardware integration for the collector, the developed system possesses a few novel features, such as the modification of wind data collection parameters by the remote control, the remarkable data compression before the data wireless transmission and monitoring the data collection by the cell phone application. It can be expected that this system would have wide applications in wind, meteorological and other communities.
