We want to know the key factors which are important to make any cluster grow up. First, we make four cluster types which are national policy type, local recruit type, local network type, and existing industry transforming type. Second, We selected Austin case and Kyushu case as two local recruit type clusters. Third, this paper looks into the dynamics of two clusters. Forth, we arrive at the conclusion including the policy implication for Daegu technopolis.

The air quality simulation models in wide use for air quality impact assessmetns are reviewed. After an intensive survey and comparative study upon the environmental impact assessment reports submitted to Ministry of Environment during 1990~1998, we could identify the major common problems with the air quality impact assessment procedures. Several remedies are presented here, including use of the screening models applicable to the complex terrain.

The most important instrument to declare oneself publicly in cyberspace is to use a homepage or website. Nowadays most of Korean as well as overseas art museums have their own websites, through which they provide consumers with essential information and strive to declare themselves publicly in cyberspace. A homepage is composed of various components and the most crucial component is the interface. The objective of this paper is to present a proposal to help get a program for efficient website management and consumer satisfaction.

Metabolomics has become an important research field with many areas of applications ranging from disease biomarker discovery to global biology systems study. A key step in metabolomics is to perform metabolome analysis to obtain quantitative information on metabolic changes among comparative samples. Mass spectrometry (MS) is widely used for highly sensitive detection of many different types of metabolites. In this review, we highlight some of the more commonly used MS techniques for metabolome analysis.

This research analyzes the level of technological growth in Korean telecommunication industry and suggests a technology development strategy. Comparative analysis of technological growth with the advanced countries was performed based on a new technology classification scheme. Technology indices were calculated by applying Analytical Hierarchy Process(AHP). The result of the AHP was put into forecasting models to have a glimse of future growth pattern and to suggest a long-term development strategy for telecommunication technology.

This paper presents a Rotem's methodology for the establishment of train operation plan in Railway system. Train operation plan is the key prior plan to proceed the design of the civil and E&M relevant subsystem. But, due to the limitation of the environmental and project condition, common consensus to the key factors which make up the operation plan have not been accomplished. So, as a result of this comparative review for the general approaching method of train operation plan and application status of the major key factors being performed by Rotem, we will get the opportunities to improve the accuracy of the train operation plan.

Chromosomal microarray (CMA) is primarily recommended for detecting clinically significant copy number variants (CNVs) in the genetic diagnosis of developmental delay, intellectual disability, autism, and congenital malformations. Prenatal CMA is recommended when a fetus has major congenital malformations. The main principles of CMA can be divided into array comparative genomic hybridization and single-nucleotide polymorphism arrays. In the current CMA platforms, these two principles are combined, and detection of genetic abnormalities including CNVs and absence of heterozygosity is facilitated. In this review, I described practical assessment of CMA testing regarding to laboratory management of CMA, interpretation of CNVs, and special considerations for comprehensive genetic counseling.

It has been extensively known in the high temperature regions such as southern China and south east Asia that Korean ginseng(Panax ginseng) intake raises body heat, while American ginseng(Panax quinquefolium) lowers it, based upon oriental medicine. This is likely due to the misunderstanding of the conception that Korean ginseng shows a warm property, resulting in enhanced blood circulation and stimulation of metabolism. It's further supported by the fact that current scientific studies have shown no notable side effects. Moreover, it has been demonstrated in animal experimental test that Korean ginseng shows a complementary effect in a high temperature environment, together with scientific evidence of a preventive effect of ginseng saponin against cold conditions, suggesting it to exhibit an adaptogenic effect normalizing the body under abnormal body conditions. However, there is a shortage of studies published concerning comparative clinical and animal studies of Korean and American ginsengs, and also, on natives of high temperature countries. Therefore, a further placebo-controlled clinical study has to be considered to elucidate scientifically clinical evaluation of Korean and American ginsengs on the body heat. In this article, we summarize the scientific publications reporting the clinical comparative study of Korean and American ginsengs on body heat response.
