  • The main purpose of this paper is analyzing long-term growth possibility of a telecommunication Company (Telco) H. First of all, to achieve this purpose, the precise understanding about causal relations among growth and decay factors of Telco H is required. Based upon the causal analysis, a basic computer simulation model is developed. Finally, several predictive examinations about growth possibility and pattern of the Telco H are conducted using three scenarios. From simulation results, the most important policy leverages are capabilities of market share sustenance, improvement of service quality and squeezing current network facility to elevate profitability and efficiency. Recently, telecommunication industry has become more and more competitive due to introduction of Internet and deregulation. Internet has brought about global competition as well as confusion between telecommunication and broadcasting industries. At the almost same time, deregulation is a universal tendency and a catalyst of unlimited competition. Telco H has been a dominant company in Korea for last century. However, the dominant position of Telco H has been threatened by the change of competition environment. The competitive environment has many elements and keeps changing dynamically. Therefore, System Dynamics simulation methodology is adopted to examine the problem.

  • The growth of internet infrastructure and a tremendous increment of internet users lead actively to found internet newspaper publishing companies, which are able to dig up and publish own news articles. In disregard of these quantitative growth of internet newspaper companies, the qualitative growth of them doesn't coincide with the quantitative growth. Therefore, to require social responsibility and to build healthy media environment, Korean government has put in force registration system of internet newspaper company. According to this system, internet newspaper companies have to produce at the inside over 30 percent of weekly publications, and this requisite increases the needs of its verification. This paper investigates technologies to measure the self-supplied news volumes of internet newspaper company, examines validity of them, and presents appropriate method to measure. To compare huge amount of news articles rapidly, the presented method is based on the modified edit-distance, which reflects human cognition of word and empirical information related with it. To prove correctness of our presented method, we show experimental results for some real internet news articles.

  • This study aims to identify the elasticities and casualties of financial performance and determinants of the mining and extractive companies listed in Jordan's stock market over the 2005-2018 period. The conceptual framework is based on the Resource-Based View theory and Arbitrage Pricing theory is used to describe the relationship between the external environment and the financial performance of the companies. Profitability ratio (return on assets) is utilized as a proxy of financial performance measurement. Meantime, the company's characteristics, macroeconomic variables, and non-economic factors are utilized as independent factors. Data sources are panel data set for mining and extractive companies over the above period. Fully Modified Ordinary Least Square (FMOLS), Dynamic Ordinary Least Squares (DOLS), and Pooled Mean Group (PMG) methods are applied. The empirical findings indicated that company size, sales growth, financial leverage, liquidity, and GDP growth were the critical determinants of mining and extractive companies' financial performance in the Amman Stock Exchange. Thus, the findings conclude that company characteristics and GDP growth mainly drive financial performance. Moreover, the findings reveal that a bidirectional causal elasticity exists between GDP and financial leverage and return on assets (ROA). Sound financial performance can be obtained by paying more attention to GDP growth and firms' characteristics.

As a result of the research, it was discovered as a policy alternative to enhance the independence of technology-owned subsidiaries, develop outstanding talents, and expand the marketing of support programs to create results based on technology holding companies. Conclusion - In previous studies, alternatives to technology commercialization policies have been suggested, but studies on the role and status of detailed technology holding companies are insufficient, and the operation system of technology holding companies and discovery of future growth models are insufficient compared to overseas cases. • The paper examines the impact of information about cash flow from operating activities of firms listed on Vietnam's stock market to the decision making of individual investors. Data were collected from interviews with 160 individual investors about their investment decisions based on information on profit growth and cash flow growth from operating activities. T-test was conducted to research on Vietnam's stock market - a market considered as information that is not really public, transparent and ineffective. The research results show that: (1) investors do not care about cash flow from operating activities when making investment decisions if the company's profits grow positively, (2) information about cash flow from operating activities only affects the decisions of individual investors once profit growth is negative, and (3) conflicting information between profit growth and cash flow growth from business activities significantly affects the confidence and comfort of investors in Vietnam's stock market when they make investment decisions. Then, the study points out the mistake of investors when making investment decisions, and offers recommendations to investors when making investment decisions, not only concerned with profit growth, but also paying special attention to cash flow growth, especially cash flow from the company's business operations.

  • P Leasing Company was a steady growing company with positive net income in most years since 1985 when it was established. However, it suddenly experienced a minus net income of 6.8 billion won in 1996. The reason of its deficit was known to be the financial distress of its two major leasing contracts. The total amount of two contracts was 58 billion won witch is about 8% of total amount of its leasing contracts. In this paper, we analyse how the disability of lease payments from the two leasing contracts influence P Leasing Company's financial stability, growth opportunity, and profitability. In addition, by performing ROI analyse, we point out the financial reasons of P Leasing Company's deficit in 1996. We hope our case analysis to help students understand the cash flow of leasing companies. The P Leasing Company case also illustrates the fact that bad leasing contracts would seriously affect the profitability of leasing companies as bad loans would seriously do the profitability of commercial banks.

  • Recently, the government has provided support such as entering new markets, expanding sales channels, and supporting manpower, not just in the form of funding, to efficiently and effectively support limited national resources to improve corporate performance. In this study, we tried to find out the effect of government support for companies that have benefited from the Excellent Technology Research Center Project (ATC Project) and the World Class 300 project using propensity score matching. As a result of the analysis, the effect of government support for the ATC project became visible after the appointment period, while the effect of the World Class 300 project was insignificant. This means that when the size of the company is small, the effect of government support is more pronounced. This suggests that in order to maximize the effectiveness of government support, appropriate national policy interventions such as government innovation funding are needed when the size of the company is small. In this study, differences in the timing, performance indicators, and company size of policy support effects were found in the growth stage of a company from a mid- to long-term time series perspective, suggesting that support policies based on this need to be adjusted and redesigned.

  • This study analyze empirically how the characteristics of a venture business' founder and company development stage will affect on B2B transactions and business management difficulties based on "2012 Survey of Korea Venture Firms". According to this study, there are different frequencies of difficulties in B2B transactions depending on the founder's age and educational background as well as different recognitions about business management difficulties with considering the founder's age, educational background, major and other factors. It is analyzed that in educational background factor, master's degree and in major factor, humanities and social science show comparatively frequent business management difficulties. On the other hand, it is analyzed that there is not meaningful difference in the recognition about the difficulty-frequency in B2B transactions in each company growth stage. It is considered that the difficulties occur frequently in every company growth stage but, these types of difficulties are solved routinely. At the Exit phase, however, there is high recognition about business management difficulties as the transaction with the companies in this stage is avoided.

  • Since the stock price is a measure of the future value of the company, when analyzing the stock price, the company's growth potential, such as sales and profits, is considered and invested in stocks. In order to set the criteria for selecting stocks, institutional investors look at current industry trends and macroeconomic indicators, first select relevant fields that can grow, then select related companies, analyze them, set a target price, then buy, and sell when the target price is reached. Stock trading is carried out in the same way. However, general individual investors do not have any knowledge of investment, and invest in items recommended by experts or acquaintances without analysis of financial statements or growth potential of the company, which is lower in terms of return than institutional investors and foreign investors. Therefore, in this study, we propose a research method to select undervalued stocks by analyzing ROE, an indicator that considers the growth potential of a company, such as sales and profits, and predict the stock price flow of the selected stock through deep learning algorithms. This study is conducted to help with investment.
