This study was conducted to identify dietitians' position and role by assessing the present condition on management of human resources in contracted foodservice management company. Questionnaires were distributed to 79 contracted companies (eight large-size, 48 mid-size, 23 small-size companies) from March to May in 2002. Statistical analysis was performed with SPSSwin (version 8.0). The data were analyzed in group comparisons using frequencies and percentage for every item in the questionnaires, $x^2$-test, and oneway ANOVA. About eighty-five percent of contracted foodservice companies employed the new dietitians as full time employees, and seventy-five percent of them were promoted the dietitians by evaluation after a given period of time. As a starting payment for university graduates, large-size companies payed an average of 16,260,000 won/year, which was significantly higher (p<0.01) than those of mid-sized (11,320,000 won/year) and small-sized companies (11,620,000 won/year). The mean lengths of dietitians' service were 33.5 months in large-size companies, 26.5 months in mid-sized companies, 26.0 months in small-sized companies. It was less than 3 years in all companies (avg. 26.9 months). Fifty-four companies (68.4%) employed dietitians in each foodservice contract, whereas 25 companies didn't employ dietitians. The ratios of dietitians out of employees in each department of the companies were 42.6% in the department of contracted foodservice management, 19.9% in the department of menu development, 18.1% in the department of food safety, 8.7% in the department of distribution and purchase, 4.2% in the department of business, and 3.9% in the department of customer satisfaction. The dietitians' positions were directors in two companies (2.5%), general managers in two companies (2.5%), deputy managers in seven companies (8.9%), managers in twenty-nine companies (36.7%), assistant managers/chief clerks in twenty-four companies (30.4%), and chiefs in twenty-five companies (31.6%). The frequencies of training for dietitians were 6.2 times/year for the food safety training, 5.8 times/year for the cooking training, 4.8 times/year for nutrition-related training, and 4.7 times/year for service training.
This paper presents the safety performance of domestic small-sized construction companies including the characteristic and current status of safety management actions of the firms. Safety performance both at the head office and job sites of each construction companies, which are divided two groups by construction capacity ranking, are investigated. The investigation results on the small-sized construction companies in this study was compared with those of on the large and medium-sized construction companies studied in existing papers. General recognition that there is a wide difference of safety performance among domestic construction companies by construction capacity ranking was companies by this study. Especially, Data analysis shows that the safety performance of the small-sized companies has the larger difference than large and midium-sized companies.
This study empirically analyzes the impact of inventory management performance on the energy efficiency in Korean petrochemical companies. The concept of the distance function is used to define the energy efficiency and the estimation of the distance function is performed using the stochastic frontier analysis. The inventory turnover is selected as the variable indicating the inventory management performance of the company. The main results of this study are as follows. First, the inventory turnover has a positive impact on energy efficiency. Second, during the period over 2011~2015, while the gap in energy efficiency among the companies expanded, the average energy efficiency decreased. Third, the average energy efficiency in upstream process companies was greater than downstream process companies and the gap in energy efficiency among downstream process companies was greater than upstream process companies. Fourth, the average marginal effect of inventory turnover on energy efficiency increased gradually from 2011 to 2015. Finally, the average marginal effect of inventory turnover in downstream process companies was greater than upstream process companies, and the gap in the marginal effect of inventory turnover among downstream process companies was greater than upstream process companies. These results together imply the importance of inventory management in terms of energy efficiency.
The objective of this study is to find out whether Korean companies which are doing a lot of commercial transactions with Indian companies can consider appointing ICA as a trustworthy institution and using ICA arbitration rules as a governing arbitration rule, when a dispute between Korean companies and Indian companies occurs. Up to now, in the case of dispute with Indian companies, Korean companies are hesitant to utilize ICA as well as ICA arbitration rules as a alternative dispute resolution, owing to lack of understanding on its rules. But, it is obvious that Korean companies which come to have better knowledge on ICA and its rules may consider more positively using ICA as well as ICA arbitration rules as a dispute resolution rather than using other arbitration institutions like ICC and KCAB etc. in the case of disputes with Indian companies because ICA arbitration rules are very objective and similar to other arbitration rules like ICC rules as well as KCAB(Korean Commercial Arbitration Board) international arbitration rules which are frequently being used by Korean companies and also have other several advantages like cheaper cost of arbitration and fast track arbitration procedures. In conclusion, ICA and its rules can also be recommended as a public-trustworthy arbitration option if Korean companies want to resolve some dispute cases with Indian companies.

There have been many studies that open innovation activities have positive effects on firm performance. However, the previous studies have shown conflicting results, depending on the characteristics of companies or the timing of the product launch. This study empirically compares open innovation performance of first-mover companies and follower companies. The analyses are performed on the samples of the Korean Innovation Survey 2010 companies that explored external information and performed R&D cooperation. The results indicate that open innovation activities can have different effects depending on a company's status in the market. For the first-mover companies, the intensity of utilizing external information has greater impact on the firm's performance than the diversity of it. By contrast, for the follower companies, the diversity of utilizing external information has greater impact on the firm's performance than the intensity of it. In terms of R&D cooperation, the external cooperation is found not to have significant effects on a first-mover company's performance. However, external R&D cooperation of a follower company is showing positive impact on the firm's performance. The implication of the study is to analyze the firm's Open-Innovation performance by comparing first-mover companies with follower companies. Therefore, companies need to execute the Open-Innovation strategy by considering firm characteristics or the timing of the product launch.

Big data was associated with three key concepts, volume, variety, and velocity. Securities and investment services produce and store a large data of text/numbers. They have also the most data per company on the average in the US. Gartner found that the demand for big data in finance was 25%, which was the highest. Therefore securities and investment companies produce the largest data such as text/numbers, and have the highest demand. And insurance companies and credit card companies are using big data more actively than banking companies in Korea. Researches on the use of big data in securities and investment companies have been found to be insignificant. We surveyed 22 major securities and investment companies in Korea for activating big data. We can see they actively use AI for investment recommend. As for big data of securities and investment companies, we studied open API. Of the major 22 securities and investment companies, only six securities and investment companies are offering open APIs. The user OS is 100% Windows, and the language used is mainly VB, C#, MFC, and Excel provided by Windows. There is a difficulty in real-time analysis and decision making since developers cannot receive data directly using Hadoop, the big data platform. Development manuals are mainly provided on the Web, and only three companies provide as files. The development documentation for the file format is more convenient than web type. In order to activate big data in the securities and investment fields, we found that they should support Linux, and Java, Python, easy-to-view development manuals, videos such as YouTube.

This study examines whether oil and gas companies comply with the requirements of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) 6 on Exploration and Evaluation (E&E) of Mineral Resources. For this purpose, a comprehensive checklist divided into eight different parameters was prepared by including every requirement of IFRS 6. While building on the previous studies, the annual reports of the top five Indian and top five Global companies engaged in this business have been investigated in detail against the checklist using content analysis as the research method. Results show that a majority of the companies (both Indian as well as global companies) have not been complying with the requirements of IFRS 6. In five out of eight parameters the companies have not complied with even half of the requirements. The overall compliance ratio is as low as 41.54 percent and 43.68 percent for Indian and Global companies respectively. While analyzing the non-compliance, it has been observed that despite having distinct accounting standards, different kinds of companies are reporting differently. Thus, it is not in line or consistent with the goal of IFRS i.e., to establish a universal language for the companies to prepare the accounting statements. The research findings identify the exact area of non-compliance while citing the relevant paragraph number of IFRS 6.
The purpose of this study is to create the program for efficient inventory management and reduction, investigating the present conditions and factors of the inventory throughout current apparel industry. The research method applied in this study is to survey 92 domestic companies which were randomly selected with respect to the kinds of goods produced : men′s wear, women′s wear, and unisex wear. The research can be summarized as follows : 1. The seasonal stock rate of current apparel industry was 28.75%, and the rate of men′s wear companies was higher than that of women′s and unisex wear companies. 19.43% of stock cost reflection rate was applied, and the stack cost of men′s and women′s wear companies was higher than that of unisex wear companies. 2. Periodic bargain sale was the most frequently used way of stock clearance, and "uniform price sale"and outlet stores were the second and the third irrespectively. Unisex wear companies appeared to be more enthusiastic in stock clearance than the companies belonging to the other two categories. The main places for the stock clearance were department stores, outlet stores and enterprises specialized in the stock clearance. 3. QR production was proved to be the most commonly adjusted method of stock reduction, and the emphasis on development of new design and the utilization of stock management system through computer network were the next, While unisex wear companies had established the positive policies, men′s wear companies took lukewarm altitudes in every aspect. The companies selling on an order were 18.64%, and unisex wear companies showed the higher rate. The lead-time after QR production was 10.91 days, and it seemed to take more time for men′s wear companies than for women′s and unisex wear companies. The rate of the chance in stock was proved to decrease by 12.94%, and there was found no meaningful difference among the three categories of apparel companies.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to provide baseline data for the assessment of exposure to indium and to prevent adverse health effects among workers engaged in the electronics and related industries in Republic of Korea. Methods: Total (n = 369) and respirable (n = 384) indium concentrations were monitored using personal air sampling in workers at the following 19 workplaces: six sputtering target manufacturing companies, four manufacturing companies of panel displays, two companies engaged in cleaning of sputtering components, two companies dedicated to the cleaning of sputtering target, and five indium recycling companies. Results: The level of exposure to total indium ranged from 0.9 to 609.3 ㎍/m3 for the sputtering target companies; from 0.2 to 2,782.0 ㎍/m3 for the panel display companies and from 0.5 to 2,089.9 ㎍/m3 for the indium recycling companies. The level of exposure to respirable indium was in the range of 0.02 to 448.6 ㎍/m3 for the sputtering target companies; 0.01 to 419.5 ㎍/m3 for the panel display companies; and 0.5 to 436.3 ㎍/m3 for the indium recycling companies. The indium recycling companies had the most samples exceeding the exposure standard for indium, followed by sputtering target companies and panel display companies. Conclusions: The main finding from this exposure assessment is that many workers who handle indium compounds in the electronics industry are exposed to indium levels that exceed the exposure standards for indium. Hence, it is necessary to continuously monitor the indium exposure of this workforce and take measures to reduce its exposure levels.
This study aims to suggest the ways of mutually beneficial cooperation between large companies and small companies in the field of telecommunication services. To achieve this goal, it attempts to introduce mutually beneficial cooperation plans based on horizontal relationships rather than vertical relationships among large companies and small companies. Research contents will suggest the similarities and differences of individual telecommunication companies by analyzing mutually beneficial cooperation plans of large companies and small companies based on domestic three telecommunication companies. It examines the perceptions of people who are engaged in large companies and small companies in order to enhance the recognition on the mutual cooperation of large companies and small and medium companies. Based on research results, it attempts the activation methods of mutual cooperation of large and small companies.
