  • In community computing environments, various members cooperate with each other systematically for attaining each community's goals. Because community computing environments are organized on the basis of PAN (Personal Area Network), each member commonly uses the power of batteries. If one member in community uses up the power of battery and does not operate normally, the community will not be able to provide the ultimate service goals for its users and be terminated finally. Therefore, it is necessary for accurate community operation to prevent a specific member's lifetime from terminating, as checking each member's power consumption in real-time. In this paper, we propose WEL (WEighted Leach) algorithm for optimizing lifetime of the members in community.

  • The primary purpose of this paper is to analyze the membership of fishing community. In order to become a member of fishing community, some conditions are needed both the member of local fisheries cooperatives and resident of fishing village. Generally, many fishing communities have additional conditions such as to be a member of fishing community that is a minimum term of residence, an entrance fee, fishing abilities. These additional conditions play a critical role in making a relationship, building trust and enhancing fairness. However, the setting of excessive additional conditions make it possible to obstruct growth of fishing community.

  • Environmental problems emerged as common global Problems awaiting solution. Active collaborative efforts are required of nations and communities In order to solve environmental problems effectively. International collaboration occurs much more commonly these days than before. and European Community(EC) mumber countries are no exceptions. EC has established and executed the five-year programs on Environmental Policy Implementation, which explicated basic principles for enoronmental policy development, stance 1973. EC programs tend to emphasize that the direction of the policies should reflect a change from a remedial approach to a preventive approach. Those pro- grams have brought an awareness of the Importance of Environmental Impact Assessment(EIAI to EC member countries. France Installed an EIA system In 1976, which was the first among member countries. Several other member countries also established a system. EC decided that a common guideline was necessary. and therefore formulated the "European Community Guideline for Environmental Impact Assessment" In 1985. All member countries were required to legislate an EIA system within three years, according to the Guideline. This study will conduct a comparative analysis of the current EIA systems of different EC member counties. The findings of this study will provide helpful Information on how to Improve the efficacy of the Korean system.an system.

  • Many organizations facilitate a host of online knowledge sharing communities to assist internal knowledge sharing and operation. The permeable boundaries and voluntary structures of online communities allow individuals to span community boundaries and affect member resources and structures. Although much research has been done on members' knowledge contribution in online communities, relatively little is known about how a member's contribution to a community is shaped by the cross-level interactions of member's external boundary spanning and the community's environmental scanning or membership fluidity. Drawing from the theoretical lens of boundary spanning and the external view of online communities, we take a multi-level approach in the analysis of the activities of 1,992 members of 126 communities internal to a global company. We find that a member's external boundary spanning activity (e.g., external knowledge acquisition via reading posts) has a positive effect, though at a decreasing rate, on subsequent internal knowledge contribution (e.g., posting replies in the member's home community). This positive effect is stronger in communities that are more active in environmental scanning or have fluid membership and weaker in communities that are less active in environmental scanning or have stable membership.

  • Objectives: This study aimed to identify the effects of team-member exchange (TMX) on dental hygienists' commitment. Methods: A self-administrated questionnaire was conducted from August 22 to September, 2016 with 191 dental hygienists in Busan and Gyeongsangnam-do. Teacher-member relationships and community were evaluated with the TMX scale and community scale, respectively. A self-administered five-point scale. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-tests, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlations, and multiple linear regression analysis. Results: Overall TMX and commitment levels of subjects were $3.78{\pm}0.43$ and $3.20{\pm}0.41$, respectively. The TMX subcategories that influenced commitment and change (a subcategory of commitment) were community consciousness, and trust and respect. The TMX subcategory that influenced organization (a subcategory of commitment) was community consciousness. Conclusions: Dental hygienists' commitment was closely related to community consciousness, and trust and respect.

  • Volunteering has been defined as a form of altruistic helping behavior directed at improving other's welfare. Volunteering is, however, also identified as a type of collective action for community welfare. In this regard, this study tests whether neighborhood member's network and collective identity are more important determinants to explain participation in volunteer work than altruistic or normative motivation. This study estimates a model in which volunteering is determined by empathy, normative beliefs, neighborhood networks(friendship, contacts, and integration), and identity as a neighborhood member. This study shows that empathy, normative beliefs, and collective identity as a neighborhood member have significant impacts on participation in volunteer work. In addition, this study reveals that neighborhood member's network has an indirect impact on volunteering through identity as a neighborhood member. These results suggest that neighbor-hood community member's ties and collective identity are important sources for community welfare and collective volunteer work.

  • Design of web site must include community considerations alongside technical design aspects. The main purposes of this study are to identify the community criteria for evaluating web site and to examine how business web sites include the community factors. To identify the evaluation criteria, the author reviewed recent literatures and made a table showing a summary result(see Table 1). appendix shows a sample form NASDAQ(n=82) and KOSDAQ(n=59) which were evaluated. Using the evaluation from with 189 items(Table 3), all sites were visited and review between August 28, 2000 and September 6, 2000. The auther’s evaluations were done from the perspective of community building in business sector. Table 4, summary data on the results of the study, shows that the level of application of the community concept is very low. Among the listed 18 items, only a few items are utilized at more than 50% level. Less than 10% items are Member Profile, Group Segmentation, Backstory, Forum, Chat, Fact-to-face Meeting, and Collaborative Design. the unbalanced utilization due to the lack of community concept in businesses are found. Korea firms are superior to NASDAQ firms in terms of Bulletin Board and FAQ; But Korean firms are inferior and remain at very low level in terms of Member Login, Education Materials, Backstory, Forum, and Integrating Off-line Activities which are core factors of community building.
