The purpose of this study is to conduct a comparative analysis on the mental health and health-related quality of life of the community residents who have been affected by the Sewol ferry disaster and to provide a basis for future aids for potential human-caused catastrophe. The study utilized the big data, Korean community health survey data of 3,632 (1,803 in 2018 and 1,829 in 2014) residents in Ansan and Jindo, a victimized community of Sewol ferry disaster, and compared the subjective level of health, amount of appropriate sleep, subjective stress level, stress consulting, depression, depression consulting, and health-related quality of life before and after the disaster. According to the findings, community residents who have been affected by the Sewol ferry disaster did not show any significant difference in terms of subjective health level, amount of appropriate sleep, subjective stress, and health-related quality of life. The study aims to serve as a foundational data for developing a prevention program or policy that aims to support future potential disasters by comparing the mental health and health-related quality of life of the victimized community before and after the disaster. The study suggests that the need for continuous monitoring of mental health and health-related quality of life of the victimized residents is significant, and further studies should be implemented in order to provide better supports for the local community.

This study examined the relationships among financial capability, self-esteem and money relationship. For empirical analysis, the study conducted a survey of 429 users from 6 community center users in Seoul, Gyunggi and Chungnam areas in South Korea. Frequency analyses and structural equation modelling were carried out. The main findings are as follows: Firstly, household income had no statistically significant effect on the users' self-esteems. Second, the users' financial capabilities increased their self-esteem. Third, the users' money relationship problems lower their self-esteem. Fourth, the impact of financial capability on self-esteem was partially mediated by money relationship problems.

In a seminal judgment of November 2002 (Case C-476/98) relating to the compatibility with Community laws of the 'nationality clause' in the 1996 amending protocol to the 1955 U.S.-German Air Services Agreement, the European Court of Justice(ECJ) decided that the provision constituted a measure of an intrinsically discriminatory nature and was thus contrary to the principle of national treatment established under Art. 52 of the EC Treaty. The Court, rejecting bluntly the German government' submissions relying on public policy grounds(Art. 56, EC Treaty), seemed content to declare and rule that the protocol provision requiring a contracting state party to ensure substantial ownership and effective control by its nationals of its designated airlines had violated the requirement of national treatment reserved for other Community Members under the salient Treaty provision. The German counterclaims against the Commission, although tantalizing not only from the perusal of the judgment but from the perspective of international air law, were nonetheless invariably correct and to the point. For such a clause has been justified to defend the 'fundamental interests of society from a serious threat' that may result from granting operating licenses or necessary technical authorizations to an airline company of a third country. Indeed, the nationality clause has been inserted in most of the liberal bilaterals to allow the parties to enforce their own national laws and regulations governing aviation safety and security. Such a clause is not targeted as a device for discriminating against the nationals of any third State. It simply acts as the minimum legal safeguards against aviation risk empowering a party to take legal control of the designated airlines. Unfortunately, the German call for the review of such a foremost objective and rationale underlying the nationality clause landed on the deaf ears of the Court which appeared quite happy not to take stock of the potential implications and consequences in its absence and of the legality under international law of the 'national treatment' requirement of Community laws. Again, while US law limits foreign shareholders to 24.9% of its airlines, the European Community limits non-EC ownership to 49%, precluding any ownership and effective control by foreign nationals of EC airlines, let alone any foreign takeover and merger. Given this, it appears inconsistent and unreasonable for the EC to demand, $vis-{\grave{a}}-vis$ a non-EC third State, national treatment for all of its Member States. The ECJ's decision was also wrongly premised on the precedence of Community laws over international law, and in particular, international air law. It simply is another form of asserting and enforcing de facto extraterritorial application of Community laws to a non-EC third country. Again, the ruling runs counter to an established rule of international law that a treaty does not, as a matter of principle, create either obligations or rights for a third State. Aside from the legal problems, the 'national treatment' may not be economically justified either, in light of the free-rider problem and resulting externalities or inefficiency. On the strength of international law and economics, therefore, airlines of Community Members other than the designated German and U.S. air carriers are neither eligible for traffic rights, nor entitled to operate between or 'free-ride' on the U.S. and German points. All in all and in all fairness, the European Court's ruling was nothing short of an outright condemnation of established rules and principles of international law and international air law. Nor is the national treatment requirement justified by the economic logic of deregulation or liberalization of aviation markets. Nor has the requirement much to do with fair competition and increased efficiency.

In many countries of the world, cultural activities are introduced as a popular means of promoting local economies and identities. In many places of Japan, a traditional cultural activity, "Machtskuri" (meaning "Vilige Making," literally) has been practiced in the past several decades. A small town, Nagahama of Shiga Prefecture, with 50,000 people, started restoring an old castle and historical build, art exibition, traditional fashion festivals, etc. Based on the successful experience from the cultural activities, community leaders of Nagahama made success in creating other projects, such as construction of a baseball stadium, a hotel and a community college. It can be concluded that Nagahama has been successful in creating making the place famious and the people confident.

Together with the increase of public housing complex, the issues of community following residential environment under contemporary society has become an important issue and the collapse of traditional community has long been emerged as an important social issue. In order to facilitate communities within the public housing complex, various discussions have been continued, and for addressing such an issue under this study, the public housing complexes n Seoul, the capital region and other major cities have been surveyed and analyzed to draw following conclusion as the design-type study to propose a model of community facilities. It displays that there is certain limitation with respect to the diversity of programs when comparing the community facility standard defined under the public housing related laws and regulations. This is attributable to the fact that it is a limitation to satisfy the level of satisfaction for residents that expect the improvement in quality of leisure life, and the facility standard that is standardized around the physical facility environment has certain limitations to enhance the level of satisfaction for residents when the demand has been on the rise with respect to quality. For this fact, the approach in consideration of diversity for the facility standard has to be made in advance. As the utility of external space for the public housing is increased, it is reasonable to consider the plan to secure environment through the architectural factors, and it has the strength in enhancing the utility of internal and external space of the community facilities.

This study was performed to determine the quality characteristics of Jeungpyun with added modified starch. The addition of modified starch did not change the pH level of the samples, but it did increase the volume. The b-value of Jeungpyun with 3% modified starch was significantly lower than that of the control group. The addition of 3% modified starch also significantly increased the hardness, adhesiveness, gumminess and chewiness of the experimental group over the control group. In the test of sensory characteristics, the cell size of Jeungpyun with 2 and 3% modified starch was larger than that of the control group. Cell uniformity of Jeungpyun with 2% modified starch was lower than that of the control group. The hardness of Jeungpyun with modified starch was significantly higher than that of the control group. In the test of taste preference, Jeungpyun with modified starch beat the control group substantially. The quality of Jeungpyun with 1 and 3% modified starch showed a higher overall score than that of the control group.

This paper examines the unique features of Korean farmer's music-or nongak-in Hawaii by exploring three nongak groups from different decades beginning in the 1970s. The first community-based nongak group began in the 1970s, with the establishment of the Wahiawa Korean Seniors Club. In the 1980s, there was another group supported by the Kalihi-Palama Immigrant Service Center. And in the 1990s, the Hawaii Korean Farmer's Music Assoiation, which is still active, was founded. I ullustrate the overall changes made by the three nongak groups as follows. First, they show a shift from social groups playing music to a music group doing social activities. Second, from a group of people negotiating their music, through a group led by musical leadership, to a group with a leader who created his own musical leadership. Third, from a music group began out of a pseudo-shaman ritual, through a group purely playing music, to a group adding samulnori and further creating a new rhythmic pattern. These changes occurred because, while the members are all first-generation immigrants, their experience of nongak in the motherland was different because of their age differences. In addition, they emerged because the level of awareness and acceptance of samulnori-which has gained huge popularity in Korea-were different.

Purpose: This study is to verify and analyze the influencing factors of successful aging with social support, self-efficacy, community environment and subjective health status on middle and old aged men. Methods: The survey was performed to the men between the ages of 50 and 79 in Seoul and Kyunggi province, Korea. 144 questionnaires were collected and analyzed by SPSS 18.0 program. Stepwise multiple regression was used to identify significant predictors of successful aging. Results: The most influencing factor for successful aging was social support, the second was self-efficacy, the third and the fourth was community environment and subjective health status. This regression model explained 56.7% of the variance in successful aging. Conclusion: The result shows that these variables should be considered in intervention and program of successful aging for middle and old aged men. It can be an important consideration in enhancing promoting care and welfare for the successful aging.

In order to cultivate the talents acquired in the fourth industrial revolution, developed countries' government are actively engaged in the campaigns encouraging K-12 students to participate in the maker movement. Maker education is regarded as one possible solution based on high tech in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, and it is spreading widely along with STEM education. In South Korea, STEAM education was actively conducted nationwide, and since 2017, STEAM and maker education have been linked showing mutual development. However, compared to STEAM education linked to the curriculum, comparison and activity-based research on maker education for teenagers is still insufficient. Therefore, this study aimed to suggest implications for STEAM education and maker education by analyzing the motivation of Korean youth to participate in maker activities. The subjects of this study are high school students who participated in maker education programs in student community for the first time in Korea. In this study, students were classified into engineering-related career group and non-engineering-related career groups based on their career intentions, and the motivation and understanding of participation in maker activities were compared. As a result of the study, male students participated more in maker education community activities than female students, and the engineering-related career group had a higher intention to participate in games, outdoor activities, IT equipment, digital production, and electrical/electronic production activities than the non-engineering-related career group. In addition, in the fields of handicraft/art, home baking, installing, and horticultural agriculture, there was no difference in the intention of participate in the engineering-related career group and the non-engineering-related career group. It was found that the engineering-related career group believed that there was a strong relationship between the maker education community activity, career exploration and future career choice, while the non-engineering-related career group believed that the relationship is less strong. It was also found that the engineering-related career group was participating more actively in the maker activity than the other group.

This study investigates the impact of personalization recommendation systems on customer loyalty in e-commerce, focusing on the role of information presentation, system interaction, and social community functions. It examines how these elements influence flow state, word of mouth (WOM), and repurchase intention (RPI). Using structural equation modeling (SEM) and data collected from 500 respondents in SPSS and AMOS, the study finds that all three personalization aspects significantly enhance flow state, which, in turn, positively affects WOM and RPI. System interaction directly boosts both WOM and RPI, while information presentation and social community functions influence only one of these loyalty measures. Flow state mediates the relationship between personalization factors and loyalty outcomes. These findings suggest e-commerce platforms should enhance system interaction and embed social community features to foster customer loyalty.
