  • Neighbor path selection is to pre-select alternate routes in case geographically correlated failures occur simultaneously on the communication network. Conventional heuristic-based algorithms no longer improve solutions because they cannot sufficiently utilize historical failure information. We present a novel solution model for neighbor path selection by using machine learning technique. Our proposed machine learning neighbor path selection (ML-NPS) model is composed of five modules- random graph generation, data set creation, machine learning modeling, neighbor path prediction, and path information acquisition. It is implemented by Python with Keras on Tensorflow and executed on the tiny computer, Raspberry PI 4B. Performance evaluations via numerical simulation show that the neighbor path communication success probability of our model is better than that of the conventional heuristic by 26% on the average.

  • In this paper, we propose a multiplay Thompson sampling algorithm in multipath communication system. Multipath communication system has advantages on communication capacity, robustness, survivability, and so on. It is important to select appropriate network path according to the status of individual path. However, it is hard to obtain the information of path quality simultaneously. To solve this issue, we propose Thompson sampling which is popular in machine learning area. We find some issues when the algorithm is applied directly in the proposal system and suggested some modifications. Through simulation, we verified the proposed algorithm can utilize the entire network paths. In summary, our proposed algorithm can be applied as a path allocation in multipath-based communications system.

  • This paper aims to investigate data features for neighbor path selection (NPS) in computer network with regional failures. It is necessary to find an available alternate communication path in advance when regional failures due to earthquakes or forest fires occur simultaneously. We describe previous general heuristics and simulation heuristic to solve the NPS problem in the regional fault network. The data features of general heuristics using proximity and sharing factor and the data features of simulation heuristic using machine learning are explained through examples. Simulation heuristic may be better than general heuristics in terms of communication success. However, additional data features are necessary in order to apply the simulation heuristic to the real environment. We propose novel data features for NPS in computer network with regional failures and Keras modeling for computing the communication success probability of candidate neighbor path.

  • In this paper, we proposed effective algorithm that do Availability of communication network account using total probability formula. Use path tracing method about PSTN linked with MSC in WCDMA considering occasion that do not consider mobility of terminal and Availability did account. First, express minimum path series gathering by structure function after network that do modeling by stochastic graph for communication network saves all minimal path sets between particular two abutments and we gain Availability value in angular variable after express structure function by Boolean operation form and Availability between two abutments did account.

  • Wireless signal transmission is influenced by environmental effects. These effects have also been challenging for Vehicular Ad hoc Network (VANET) in real-time communication. More specifically, in an urban environment, with high mobility among vehicles, a vehicle's status from the transmitter can instantly trigger from line of sight to non-line of sight, which may cause loss of real-time communication. In order to overcome this, a deterministic signal propagation model is required, which has less complexity and more feasibility of implementation. Hence, we propose a realistic path loss model which adopts ray tracing technique for VANET in a grid urban environment with less computational complexity. To evaluate the model, it is applied to a vehicular simulation scenario. The results obtained are compared with different path loss models in the same scenario based on path loss value and application layer performance analysis. The proposed path loss model provides higher loss value in dB compared to other models. Nevertheless, the performance of vehicle-vehicle communication, which is evaluated by the packet delivery ratio with different vehicle transmitter density verifies improvement in real-time vehicle-vehicle communication. In conclusion, we present a realistic path loss model that improves vehicle-vehicle wireless real-time communication in the grid urban environment.

  • In this paper, we deal with a novel path planning algorithm to find collision-free path for a moving robot to find an appropriate path from initial position to goal position. The robot should make progress by avoiding obstacles located at unknown position. Such problem is called the path planning. We propose so called the subgoal generation algorithm to find an effective collision-free path. The generation and selection of the subgoal are the key point of this algorithm. Several subgoals, if necessary, are generated by analyzing the map information. The subgoal is the candidate for the final path to be pass through. Then selection algorithm is executed to choose appropriate subgoal to construct a correct path. Deep and through explanations are given for the proposed algorithm. Simulation example is given to show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

  • This paper presents millimeter-wave (mmWave) propagation characteristics and channel model parameters including path loss, delay, and angular properties based on 28 GHz and 38 GHz field measurement data. We conducted measurement campaigns in both outdoor and indoor at the best potential hotspots. In particular, the model parameters are compared to sub-6 GHz parameters, and system design issues are considered for mmWave 5G Giga communications. For path loss modeling, we derived parameters for both the close-in free space model and the alpha-beta-gamma model. For multipath models, we extracted delay and angular dispersion characteristics including clustering results.

  • This paper deals with the network reliability problem that decides the communication line between main two districts while the k districts were destroyed in military communication network that the n communication lines are connected in m districts. For this problem, there is only in used the mathematical approach as linear programming (LP) software package and has been unknown the polynomial time algorithm. In this paper we suggest the heuristic algorithm with O(n) linear time complexity to solve the optimal solution for this problem. This paper suggests the flow path algorithm (FPA) and level path algorithm (LPA). The FPA is to search the maximum number of distinct paths between two districts. The LPA is to construct the levels and delete the unnecessary nodes and edges. The proposed algorithm can be get the same optimal solution as LP for experimental data.

  • Different from the existing works on coverage problems in wireless sensor networks (WSNs), this paper considers the exposure-path prevention problem by using the percolation theory in three dimensional (3D) WSNs, which can be implemented in intruder detecting applications. In this paper, to avoid the loose bounds of critical density, a bond percolation-based scheme is proposed to put the exposure-path problem into a 3D uniform lattice. Within this scheme, the tighter bonds of critical density for omnidirectional and directional sensor networks under random sensor deployment-a 3D Poisson process are derived. Extensive simulation results show that our scheme generates tighter bounds of critical density with no exposure path in 3D WSNs.
