Design and Implementation of Real-Time Monitoring System for PLGR Work (PLGR 작업을 위한 실시간 모니터링 시스템의 설계 및 구현)

  • Submarine optical fiber cable construction consists of marine survey, PLGR(Pre Lay Grapnel Run), shore-end-work, laying the submarine optical cable. This PLGR is work to ease the cable lay safely in seabed, improve the performance of Plough and ROV (Remotely-Operated Vehicle) laying work, and protect laying equipment. This paper presents the design and implementation of real-time monitoring system for PLGR work in submarine optical fiber cable construction enterprise. In this paper, we designe overall real-time monitoring system. For this purpose, the modules such as serial multiport communication module, real-time processing module, environment configuration module, real-time graph and a printout modules are designed and implemented. For the validity evaluation of this paper, serial multi port communication module, data parsing, realtime graph output are implemented and tested.

  • In this paper, we designed radio data transceiver to control the machine or equipments for automation in local areas. The designed module can transmit data with 153.6Kbps and uses 424MHz RF carrier to transmit data in the ISM band regulation. It has a processor, CPLD chip of the Altera Company, to control the data in transmitting and receiving. The processor is implemented by programming with VHDL. We will make this module with compact in dimension and higher data rate and apply to RFID technology.

  • In this paper, we implemented the communication module in the Telephone Network Access Subsystem(TNAS) of the Advanced Communications Processing System(ACPS). We defined some kinds of communication tasks and related resources like several queues which are executed in real-time operating system, and implemented the procedures for processing the user information. Through traffic modeling and simulation, the performance of the Service Processing board Assembly(SPA) is evaluated in the aspets of system utilization and buffer size. The ACPS should accommodate various public networks such as public switch telephone network, packet switchen data network, frame realy netork, and ATM network. The communications module proposed in this paper could be used inthe interface beween the SPA and the High Speed Network Adaptor of other network interface subsystems.

  • To find the module sequence that makes correction rate optimal is the goal of this paper. The Hill-climbing algorithm was used in the experiment to analyze the performance of Korean Spelling Corrector. Given the wrong eojul set, We found the module sequence that shows correction rate of 96.41%. Because of the quite high correction rate, Hill-climbing is a practical method for our Spelling Corrector.

  • This paper designs and implements a VoIP module for embedded system. Many other VoIP modules for desktop environment has widely implemented but the one for embedded system is not prevalent yet. The implemented VoIP module uses the OpenH.323 and is operated on the WinCE PDA. We use the TCP-friendly adaptation for congestion control. The experiment results show smooth communication but a little noise. Future works include the minimization of noise.

  • This is a thesis that 100W class open frame type power module of a quarter-brick size appropriate for telecommunication is reported. The input voltage is established between 36 and 75 in range in order for power module to be utilized for the telecommunication, and output were set at 3.3V and 30A. A number of parts used for transformer, inductor, and hit sink are composed of PCB in order for DC-DC converter to be lowered below 8 mm. A constant current control circuit was annexed to the system as well as basic protection prototypes such as over-voltage, over-current, and over-temperature were well considered to enhance more credibility, and were tested. As a result, high circuit performance and credibility turned out to be significant.

  • This paper proposed an efficient algorithm for tension sensing smart fence system with wireless sensor transmission module installation and alarming services. The wired transmission system demonstrates high accuracy and low latency, but the cost is expensive and transmission error may occur. For these reasons, this paper presented to use wireless transmission communication using Zigbee module technology in order to decrease delay and latency and solve the battery issues.

  • Face robots capable of expressing their emotional status, can be adopted as an efficient tool for friendly communication between the human and the machine. In this paper, we present a face robot actuated with artificial muscle based on dielectric elastomer. By exploiting the properties of polymers, it is possible to actuate the covering skin, eyes as well as provide human-like expressivity without employing complicated mechanisms. The robot is driven by seven types of actuator modules such as eye, eyebrow, eyelid, brow, cheek, jaw and neck module corresponding to movements of facial muscles. Although they are only part of the whole set of facial motions, our approach is sufficient to generate six fundamental facial expressions such as surprise, fear, anger, disgust, sadness, and happiness. Each module communicates with the others via CAN communication protocol fur the desired emotional expressions, the facial motions are generated by combining the motions of each actuator module. A prototype of the robot has been developed and several experiments have been conducted to validate its feasibility.

A Walking Aid System for Blind People by Exploiting a Haptic Feedback Equipment (햅틱피드백 장치를 이용한 시각장애인 이동보조시스템)

  • In this paper we propose a walking aid system for blind people by exploiting a haptic feedback equipment. The proposed system is a form of haptic feedback cane which is composed of MCU, communication module, sensing module and actuator. The proposed system recognizes obstacles around the blind by using ultrasonic sensors in the sensing module. Moreover, the system generates feedback information about the detected obstacle and then notifies the information to the blind through the actuator. The blind can notice the direction of the detected obstacle with the haptic feedback equipment and vibration motor. Futhermore, the proposed system controls a nearby IoT(Internet of Things) system by utilizing push buttons through the ZigBee communication. Finally, the blind can easily decide the direction of the obstacle without interference of terrain feature by using the proposed system.

  • The era of IoT in which all objects are intelligent and are connected to the Internet has been started. In order to establish and activate an IoT eco system, open services platform is very important. In this paper, we developed a BLE sensor module as a component of the open service platform based on the IoT and the open source hardware Blutooth4.0. To verify the functionality and performance of the developed BLE sensor module was built to evaluate the performance of the test environment.
