  • In the domestic game development field, game system planning is the work that game designers design the gameplay mechanics system to satisfy the game concepts in the perspective of creative design by data structural methods. But the programmers work to design the game system based on the results of the game system planning in the perspective of engineering design by object-oriented methods. This work process is a high risky way for high occurring probability of communication errors between the game designers and programmers, and mismatching errors in their work results. In this study, we propose an object-oriented design method of game system for the game designers in order to resolve this problem. The proposed method is a customized one of GRAPPLE object-oriented SW development guidelines to suit the game system planning. To investigate the effectiveness of the proposed planning method for the game designers, we carried out a survey targeting 10 game system designers working in the domestic game industry. The survey results show that the necessity and effectiveness of the proposed method is "a little over" for almost the game designers.

  • With the recent introduction of HMD devices, there is a growing interest in simulator games that are difficult to experience directly like a FPS, racing game. However, because these gaming require a large volume consol and a additive user manipulating devices for the more reality experience, most of these games are very expensive. Therefore, we propose the Arduino Air Mouse for a sniper simulator game, which maximizes realism and can be enjoyed with small volume and low cost devices. The implemented Arduino Air Mouse uses an acceleration sensor and gyro sensor. Specially, after this device was tested in the a sniper simulator game that is applied the ballistics in the Unity3D environment, the implemented game showed more reality.

  • We analyze the types of Web3 business model innovation (BMI) of the six major Korean game companies by market size. As a result of the analysis, Nexon is watched as the adapter. It introduces blockchain (BC) layer 2, 'Polygon' to the extended ecosystem such as the creator's secondary creation, item utility, and compensation experience using the existing core intellectual property (IP). KakaoGames and Neowiz are watched as the adventurers. KakaoGames introduces BC layer 2, 'Polygon' and 'Near Protocol' to various experiments using tokenomics models in casual games and massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs) using several existing popular IPs. Neowiz also introduces BC layer 2, 'Polygon' and 'Avalanche' to the IntellaX platform using existing game IPs. As the reinventor, Netmable positions as a game publisher that releases third-party games based on multi-chain infrastructure such as Klaytn, BNB Chain, Near Protocol, Aptos Foundation, and introduces BC to new core IPs. Finally, there are Wemade and Com2us as the mavericks. They aim to be the Web3 platform operators that create a BC layer 1 ecosystem and provide services that encompass BC games, GameFi, and non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Here are the implications of the four types of BMI. In terms of infrastructure, Nexon, KakaoGames, and Neowiz try to introduce a part of cross-chain, whereas Netmable tries to move toward a complete multi-chain strategy, and Wemade and Com2us also try to consider multi-chain, even if they have the full BC introduction. In terms of defending against market decline, Nexon and Netmable have a different position. Nexon which has a greater market dominance, only tries to continuously experiment, but Netmable is aggressively focusing on monetizing new products. Attacks on growth aspirations also show two different positions. KakaoGames and Neowiz only try to aggressively explore, while WeMade and Com2us try to set new standards for industrial innovation.

  • This study presents the unit control of a PC (Personal Computer) program using multiple smartphones based on ad hoc communication. A design of the data packet that multiple smartphones send to a computer, and a framework that manages and controls the unit in a computer after analyzing the data packet, are proposed. As a result, multiple users are able to control their own units using their smartphones while seeing the monitor connected to a computer. In other words, multiple users can share the same game in a computer or control their units embedded in a system using their smartphones. An experimental result shows that a racing game in a PC can be realized by the proposed communication interface, where four iPhones are used to control their units in a computer. Thus, the proposed framework can be effectively used for unit control in a PC using multiple smartphones.

  • Device-to-Device (D2D) communication is one of the enabling technologies for 5G networks that support proximity-based service (ProSe) for wireless network communications. This paper proposes a power control algorithm based on the Nash equilibrium and game theory to eliminate the interference between the cellular user device and D2D links. This leadsto reliable connectivity with minimal power consumption in wireless communication. The power control in D2D is modeled as a non-cooperative game. Each device is allowed to independently select and transmit its power to maximize (or minimize) user utility. The aim is to guide user devices to converge with the Nash equilibrium by establishing connectivity with network resources. The proposed algorithm with pricing factors is used for power consumption and reduces overall interference of D2Ds communication. The proposed algorithm is evaluated in terms of the energy efficiency of the average power consumption, the number of D2D communication, and the number of iterations. Besides, the algorithm has a relatively fast convergence with the Nash Equilibrium rate. It guarantees that the user devices can achieve their required Quality of Service (QoS) by adjusting the residual cost coefficient and residual energy factor. Simulation results show that the power control shows a significant reduction in power consumption that has been achieved by approximately 20% compared with algorithms in [11].

  • Achievement systems have proliferated so quickly in gaming that it's hard to find a game that doesn't have them. However, their introduction has come with a number of drawbacks, including a lack of sense of accomplishment and immersion, and a lack of difficulty setting. There is a genre of achievement games that have managed to turn the downsides of achievement systems into unique features of their games, but they are dwindling in number. In this situation, we developed 'Achievement Run', an achievement game that can meet the needs of achievement enthusiasts by fixing the shortcomings of existing games. This paper introduces the development process of a new achievement game called 'Achievement Run' and conducts in-depth interviews with gamers to find out what kind of experience it provides, and concludes that the game's achievement system provides a generally positive player experience. Therefore, this paper will provide useful guidance not only for achievement-oriented game enthusiasts, but also for game development in general.
