A Framework and Guidelines for Personal Data Breach Notification Act (개인정보 유출 시 통지.신고 프레임워크 및 가이드라인)

  • Recent personal data breach incidences draw the public's attention to their privacy and personal rights. The new personal data protection law effective in September 2009 imposes additional legal responsibility on personal data controllers and processors. For instance, if a data breach occurs, this new law requires that the processors must notify individuals (data subjects) and data protection authorities of the nature of incidents. This research reviews the U.S. forty six state laws and related acts, and offers a framework for managing incidents. This framework includes five major components: (1) type of personal data required to be reported and notified, (2) the ultimate subject notifying data subjects, (3) event occurrence and notification time phases, (4) notification message details, and (5) direct/indirect communication media. Along with this framework, we also offer directions for effective/manageable guidelines on data breach notification act.

Utilization of Physical Security Events for the Converged Security using Analytic Hierarchy Process: focus on Information Security (계층분석과정을 이용한 융합보안을 위한 물리 보안 이벤트 활용: 정보 보안 중심)

  • Today's security initiatives tend to integrate the physical and information securities which have been run by completely separate departments. That is, the converged security management becomes the core in the security market trend. However, to the best of our knowledge, we cannot find any solutions how to combine these two security events for the converged security. In this paper, we propose an information security object-driven approach which utilizes the physical security events to enhance and improve the information security. For scalability, we also present a systematic method using the analytic hierarchy process finding the meaningful event combinations among the large number of physical security events. In particular, we show the whole implementation processes in detail where we consider the information security object 'illegal computing system access' combined with two physical security devices - access controller and CCTV+video analyzer system.

  • In this paper, the communication method of data information accepted by underwater drones and the implementation method to console display of data information were described, and the function of integrated monitoring system interface and the design and implementation of sonar interface were explained. The operation and posture of underwater drones can be controlled using a controller connected to the console, and the distance information between underwater drones and obstacles is obtained from sonar so that they can be visually displayed on the console screen along with camera images. The integrated monitoring navigation console is implemented to suit improvements, making it convenient and easy for workers to use. In addition, by upgrading integrated monitoring and control software functions, the company added user-specific project management functions and the output of reports for hull inspection to make them different and competitive from other underwater drones.

  • This study is a study on System On Chip (SOC) that implements virtual engine sound in electric vehicles without engines, and realizes vivid engine sound by combining Adaptive Difference PCM (ADPCM) method and frequency modulation method for satisfaction of driver's needs and safety of pedestrians. In addition, by proposing an electronic sound synthesis algorithm applying Musical Instrument Didital Interface (MIDI), an engine sound synthesis method and a constitutive model of an engine sound generation system are presented. In order to satisfy both drivers and pedestrians, this study uses Controller Area Network (CAN) communication to receive information such as Revolution Per Minute (RPM), vehicle speed, accelerator pedal depressed amount, torque, etc., transmitted according to the driver's driving habits, and then modulates the frequency according to the appropriate preset parameters We implemented an interaction algorithm that accurately reflects the intention of the system and driver by using interpolation for the system, ADPCM algorithm for reducing the amount of information, and MIDI format information for making engine sound easier.

  • The robot is developing into a software-oriented shape that recognizes the surrounding situation and is given a task. Cloud Robotics Platform is a method to support Service Oriented Architecture shape for robots, and it is a cloud-based method to provide necessary tasks and motion controllers depending on the situation. As it evolves into a humanoid robot, the robot will be used to help humans in generalized daily life according to the three robot principles. Therefore, in addition to robots for specific individuals, robots as public goods that can help all humans depending on the situation will be universal. Therefore, the importance of information security in the Cloud Robotics Computing environment is analyzed to be composed of people, robots, service applications on the cloud that give intelligence to robots, and a cloud bridge that connects robots and clouds. It will become an indispensable element for In this paper, we propose a Security Scheme that can provide security for communication between people, robots, cloud bridges, and cloud systems in the Cloud Robotics Computing environment for intelligent robots, enabling robot services that are safe from hacking and protect personal information.

  • As a means to cope with the climate change crisis caused by global warming, automobile manufacturers continue to make efforts to use the driving energy of vehicles as electricity. As a result, parts industry such as battery, motor, and controller are attracting attention. China is often seen in large cities, with electric vehicles such as electric bicycles, electric motorcycles, and small electric vehicles popularized and commercialized, mainly in large cities. However, small electric vehicles are not popular in Korea, which is why the country's topography is high in hills. In order to drive the hilly domestic roads, power performance including vehicle climbing ability should be improved. In order to improve the power performance and the climbing capacity of small electric vehicles, the capacity of the motor should be increased. However, when the performance of the motor is improved, the weight of the motor becomes heavy and the price competitiveness is likely to decrease. In addition, in order to operate a high-performance motor, the power consumption of the battery is rapidly increased, so various problems must be solved. In order to commercialize a small electric vehicle for one or two people who do not emit harmful exhaust gas to the human body in a hilly domestic terrain, it is effective to have a separate transmission system. In this study, we were conducted dynamometer test to produce a continuously variable transmission(CVT) system prototype using a spring that can be applied to a small electric vehicle and to install a CVT system prototype manufactured in a small electric vehicle. The dynamometer test results showed that the maximum speed performance, acceleration performance, and climbing performance were improved.

Analysis of Engine Load Factor for a 78 kW Class Agricultural Tractor According to Agricultural Operations (농작업에 따른 78 kW급 농업용 트랙터 엔진 부하율 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to calculate and analyze the engine load factor of major agricultural operations using a 78 kW class agricultural tractor for estimating the emission of air pollutants and greenhouse. Engine load data were collected using controller area network (CAN) communication. Main agricultural operations were selected as plow tillage (PT), rotary tillage (RT), baler operation (BO), loader operation (LO), driving on soil (DS), and driving on concrete (DC). The engine power was calculated using the measured engine load data. A weight factor was applied to load factor for considering usage ratio according to agricultural operations. Weight factors for different agricultural operations were calculated to be 27.4%, 32.9%, 17.5%, 7.7%, 4.5%, and 10.0% for PT, RT, BO, LO, DS, and DC, respectively. As a result of the field test, load factors were 0.74, 0.93, 0.41, 0.23, 0.27, and 0.21 for PT, RT, BO, LO, DS, and DC, respectively. The engine load factor was the highest for RT. Finally, as a result of applying the weight factor for usage ratio of agricultural operations, the integrated engine load factor was estimated to be 0.63, which was about 1.31 times higher than the conventional applied load factor of 0.48. In future studies, we plan to analyze the engine load factor by considering various horsepower and working conditions of the tractor.

  • In this study, a customized semi-passive RFID receiver module was implemented for in-VIVO deep tissue photo-therapy. A novel wireless technique is required due to a limitation of RF communication in body environment, as internal body has a complex structure such as, skin, fat, skeleton, water, and so on. Recently, coherently incoherent beamforming (CIB) based on RFID was introduced and it is able to transmit wireless signal with high reliability under the incoherent condition such as in-VIVO deep tissue. The proposed miniature photo capsule based on RFID consists of miniature controller, ultra small LED array and wireless RFID chip. RF Reader can access with standard RFID protocol (ISO 18000-6c) using UHF RFID antenna, a control command is wirelessly writtern on USER Bank memory. With received control command, therapy LED array dims with mulilevel under timer control. The signal process of designed RFID photo therapy capsule is analyzed and evaluated under the various environments in detailed.

A Low-pass filter design for suppressing the harmonics of 2.4GHz RFID tag (2.4GHz RFID 태그용 고조파 억제를 위한 저역통과필터의 설계)

  • In the RFID system using ISM-band, The tag mounted at the object has used the DC power by rectifying the RF signals of the small antenna for operating the micro-controller and memory. The performance of the tag would be reduced because of the second harmonics generated by the nonlinearity of the semiconductor and the spurious signal excited the high order mode of the antenna. This paper has realized the novel type low-pass filter with "the Stub-I type DGS slot structure" to improve the efficiency of the tag by suppressing the harmonics. The optimized frequency character at the pass-band/stop-band has obtained by tuning the stub width and slit width of I type slot. The measured result of the LPF has the cutoff frequency 3.25 GHz, the insertion loss about -0.29~-0.3 dB at pass-band 2.4 GHz~2.5 GHz, the return loss about -27.688~-33.665 dB at pass-band with a good performance, and the suppression character is about -19.367 dB at second harmonics frequency 4.9 GHz. This DGS LPF may be applied the various application as the RFID, WLAN to improve the efficiency of the system by suppressing the harmonics and spurious signals. 

The Design of Single Phase PFC using a DSP (DSP를 이용한 단상 PFC의 설계)

  • This paper presents the design of single phase PFC(Power Factor Correction) using a DSP(TMS320F2812). In order to realize the proposed boost PFC converter in average current mode control, the DSP requires the A/D sampling values for a line input voltage, a inductor current, and the output voltage of the converter. Because of a FET switching noise, these sampling values contain a high frequency noise and switching ripple. The solution of A/D sampling keeps away from the switching point. Because the PWM duty is changed from 5% to 95%, we can#t decide a fixed sampling time. In this paper, the three A/D converters of the DSP are started using the prediction algorithm for the FET ON/OFF time at every sampling cycle(40 KHz). Implemented A/D sampling algorithm with only one timer of the DSP is very simple and gives the autostart of these A/D converters. From the experimental result, it was shown that the power factor was about 0.99 at wide input voltage, and the output ripple voltage was smaller than 5 Vpp at 80 Vdc output. Finally the parameters and gains of PI controllers are controlled by serial communication with Windows Xp based PC. Also it was shown that the implemented PFC converter can achieve the feasibility and the usefulness.
