  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of online ballet community-based teacher-parent computer-mediated communication (CMC) on four achievement goals of ballet students. We used a randomized post-test only control group design. In order to test whether teacher-parent CMC has a positive impact on the improvement of achievement goals, multivariate analysis of covariance were performed with the ages of ballet students as the covariates. Teacher-parent CMC had significant effects on achievement goals. The mastery-approach goals of the experimental group were significantly higher than of the control group. In contrast, the performance-avoidance goals of the experimental group were significantly lower than those of the control group. There were no differences between the two groups in mastery-avoidance and performance-approach goals. Above all, this study is significant because the focus was placed on the inter-relationship between the two settings of school and family in regard to ballet student improvement, rather than on one setting only.

  • During 50 years, the chaotic theory has begun to research with concerning in Mathematics and physics, and it has extended the fields to of engineering and social science. Recently, chaotic theory has progressed as a type of fusion research fused with natural science and social science. Such fused research includes problems for addiction, happiness of human, problem happened between family and love affairs between man and woman. In this paper, we consider the external environment based on love model which is one among fusion research, and when we consider colored noise in the external environment, we verify how the chaotic pattern is affected in the love model through time series and phase portrait.

Students' mental health level was compared by region, sex, grade, and other familial and economic factors. Results: Familial and social factors such as economical and educational level of parents, number of family members were different between rural and urban area. Also, students of rural area got lower scores at self-esteem, self-efficacy, but higher scores at extroverted problem behavior than their urban counterparts. In pre-school students, high grade students' self-esteem, and family cohesion scores were lower than low grade students. And sexual differences were found across problem behavior domain and region in middle school students. Especially, the students of single-parent family and lower economic family got insistently low scores at various mental health related scales. Conclusion: These results should be considered, when the HPS model is designed and applied in Korea.

  • This study aims at investigating how middle school students perceive the content of the 'Me and My Family Relations' unit in the technology and home economics textbook, act on such perceptions and how this connects with their healthy family relations. In addition, the study also points at inquiring into what kind of differences and mutual influences can be found in the above-mentioned three factors according to family environment. With this objective. this research has analyzed survey data conducted on 401 7th grade middle school students residing in Incheon Greater city, collected by the random sampling method. The findings are as follow: First, the students were found to have positive perceptions on the 'family relations and communication' unit in the technology and home economics text book. However. they were also found to perceive that the content was not as realizable in their everyday family lives. Second, the number of students who perceived their family lives to be healthy was found to be quite high. The students perceived their family lives to be healthy projecting from such aspects as the degree of gratification and affection, extent of family bonding, communication patterns, and problem solving abilities, in the same order. In addition, the higher the families' socio-economic level, and in the cases that the students had working mothers and the fathers held higher degrees, the degree to which the families were perceived to be healthy was higher. Third, in investigating the influence that such factors as the students' family environment, the degree that students perceived the text book content positively, and the degree that the students perceive the content to be realizable have on healthy family relations, among these factors, the students' perceived degree of how healthy their family relations are had the most bearing over the above-mentioned factors. The second influential factor on how healthy family relations are was the family's affectional environment, found to be more influential than such factors as family type, the mother's employment status, living standards, and the parents' educational level. On the other hand, the perceived level of realizability was found to have a lower influence on the students' family relations than the perceived positivity.

  • This study investigated relationships between the importance and satisfaction of rice-based menu selection attributes at family restaurants. For data collection, a total of 250 copies of questionnaires were distributed to 4-year college students who had an experience of a rice-based menu at casual dining restaurants, and finally 221 surveys (88.4%) among them were analyzed by using SPSS Win ver. 11.5. Twenty selection attributes were used to test the level of importance and satisfaction for rice-based menu. The factor analysis identified six dimensions of the importance of rice-based menu selection attributes; variety of items, menu information, recommendation & atmosphere, food quality, preferred menu, and price. Also, five dimensions of satisfaction were identified as nutrition & taste, menu information, preferred menu & atmosphere, variety of items, and cooking. Canonical correlation analysis revealed that preferred menu factor of importance was highly correlated with preferred menu and restaurant atmosphere factor of satisfaction of rice-based menu selection. The managerial implications of these results for rice-base menu selection attributes are as follows: There seems to be a need to develop a variety of rice-based menus, because rice-based menus tend to be considered as an additional menu, not a main course. Aggressive marketing and communication strategies are necessary to position rice-based menu as a main course for college students and as a major maket segment to family restaurants.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between maternal knowledge of childcare and mother-teacher communication. The participants consisted of 240 mothers whose children were enrolled at seven childcare centers in Seoul. Respondents were asked to complete a series of questionnaires reporting the important aspects of their childcare, the frequency of mother-teacher communication, and individual characteristics. Information about childcare's structural and procedural characteristics were obtained through interviews with the directors of those centers. The results indicated that mothers only answered 45.5% of questions correctly, and reported a lack of knowledge about childcare services in their respective centers. In particular, mothers didn't have information about caregivers (e.g, education, year of job experience, license, etc). Actual maternal knowledge was significantly correlated with the length of time which mothers were associated with their childcare and the frequency of mother-teacher communication. In addition, there were significant differences in the maternal knowledge regarding childcare services according to mothers' educational level. The results of this study imply that effective parent education programs are needed for mothers who want to enroll their children in childcare centers.
