  • This paper presents the combination resonances of FG porous (FGP) cylindrical shell under two-term excitation. The effect of structural damping on the system response is also considered. With regard to classical plate theory of shells, von-$K{\acute{a}}rm{\acute{a}}n$ equation and Hook law, the relations of stress-strain is derived for shell. According to the Galerkin method, the discretized motion equation is obtained. The combination resonances are obtained by using the method of multiple scales. Four types of FGP distributions consist of uniform porosity, non-symmetric porosity soft, non-symmetric porosity stiff and symmetric porosity distribution are considered. The influence of various porosity distributions, porosity coefficients of cylindrical shell and amplitude excitations on the combination resonances for FGP cylindrical shells is investigated.

  • The objective of this paper is to study the characteristics of combination method to correct both angle and distance errors simultaneously based on the least square adjustment methods. Changing the standard errors of distance and angle, the simulation errors of triangultion, trilateration, and combination result in some 39.8%, 33.9%, and 26.3% respectively. As the above, combination method shows more consistent accuracy than other methods. When considering the weight factor about error elements with independence, the diminishing rate of simulated average standard error represents a various change in each method. But considering them simultaneously, it shows a remarkable rate of diminishing 75.5%, 74.1%, and 69.2% in each method. And also, by growing the weight factor, accuracy of triangulation method is growing, whereas that of trilateration is diminishing. Therefore, determining the reasonable weight factors of distance and angle errors simultaneously in the analytical combination method, this method is expected to be one of more accurate and more effective methods for determining horizontal positions on the earth.

  • This study predicts the ratio of added value, which represents the competitiveness of export industries in South Korea, using various machine learning techniques. To enhance the accuracy and stability of prediction, forecast combination technique was applied to predicted values of machine learning techniques. In particular, this study improved the efficiency of the prediction process by selecting key variables out of many variables using recursive feature elimination method and applying them to machine learning techniques. As a result, it was found that the predicted value by the forecast combination method was closer to the actual value than the predicted values of the machine learning techniques. In addition, the forecast combination method showed stable prediction results unlike volatile predicted values by machine learning techniques.

  • The purpose of this research is to analyze the effects of Dansam and Sappan wood extract to perform combination dyeing on silk fabrics, with respect to color changes, fastness (washing, dry cleaning, perspiration, rubbing and light fastness), and functionality (antibacterial activity and deodorization). Combination dyeing was performed by first combining Dansam with Sappan wood, then Sappan wood with Dansam, in these orders. Given the changes in the combination ratio, pre-mordant treatment was performed. Looking at the surface colors of each dye, Dansam generally produces YR color series, while Sappan wood produces YR, R, and RP color series. The effects of changing the order in which combination dying was performed on the surface colors were as follows. First, combination dyeing (A) was performed by using Dansam before Sappan wood, to produce YR and R color series. Then combination dyeing (B) was performed by using Sappan wood before Dansam, to produce YR, R, and RP color series. By visual inspections, more similar color changes of the combination dyeing were noticed with the post-dyeing material rather than the pre-dyeing material. Therefore, it was presumably confirmed that surface color changes of combination dyeing were greatly influenced by the post-dyeing color. Individual dyeing tests for fastness showed that Dansam was comparatively superior to Sappan wood, which demonstrated lower fastness to washing, dry cleaning, perspiration, and light, relatively. The fastness of combination dyed samples was shown middle, but similar fastness to the post-dye material, The fastness of (B) method was higher than (A) method in the washing and light fastness. This confirms that color fastness from combination dyeing was considerably influenced by the post-dye material. It was found that all dyed samples had a very high bacterial reduction rate of 99.9% and high deodorization rate of 95%.

  • Among a number of factors related to the effect of acupuncture and moxibustion treatment, prescriptions do important work. Traditional eastern doctors also placed emphasis on prescriptions of acupuncture and moxibustion, and a lot of experiences have been accumulated. The method forms prescriptions of Sa-am acupuncture therapy pivots on five transport points. Studies show prescriptions are made on the basis of the theory of 'Wang Xiang Xiu Qiu Si'(旺相休囚死) used engendering and restraining of five phases, and it is considered the principle of transformed prescriptions through this theory. Because there is still no study analyzing prescriptions of Sa-am acupuncture by existing principles, we report opinion about Combination principle of points in them. 1. We studied history of acupuncture and moxibustion, development and kinds of points' Combination principle. 2. Around Combination principles of points in Classic of Difficult Issues and Internal Classic, we analyzed and compared between Combination principles of points in Sa-am acupuncture therapy and them in Korea and overall acupuncture methods. 1. There were many Combination principles of acupunture point combination in Classic of Difficult Issues, Internal Classic and Korea acupuncture methods. • Permutation and combination are the part of mathematics which can be introduced the pliability and diversity of thought. In prior studies of permutation and combination, there treated difficulties of learning, strategy of problem solving, and errors that students might come up with. This paper provides the method so that meaningful teaching and learning might occur through the systematic approach of permutation and combination. But there were little prior studies treated counting numbers that basic of mathematics' action. Therefore this paper tries to help the understanding of permutation and combination with the process of changing from informal knowledge to formal knowledge.

  • The present paper investigates the combination resonance behavior of imperfect spiral stiffened functionally graded (SSFG) cylindrical shells with internal and external functionally graded stiffeners under two-term large amplitude excitations. The structure is embedded within a generalized nonlinear viscoelastic foundation, which is composed of a two-parameter Winkler-Pasternak foundation augmented by a Kelvin-Voigt viscoelastic model with a nonlinear cubic stiffness, to account for the vibration hardening/softening phenomena and damping considerations. With regard to classical plate theory of shells, von-Kármán equation and Hook law, the relations of stress-strain are derived for shell and stiffeners. The spiral stiffeners of the cylindrical shell are modeled according to the smeared stiffener technique. According to the Galerkin method, the discretized motion equation is obtained. The combination resonance is obtained by using the multiple scales method. Finally, the influences of the stiffeners angles, foundation type, the nonlinear elastic foundation coefficients, material distribution, and excitation amplitude on the system resonances are investigated comprehensively.

  • In order to solve the problems of the existing audio fingerprint method when extracting audio fingerprints from long speech segments, such as too large fingerprint dimension, poor robustness, and low retrieval accuracy and efficiency, a robust audio fingerprint retrieval method based on feature dimension reduction and feature combination is proposed. Firstly, the Mel-frequency cepstral coefficient (MFCC) and linear prediction cepstrum coefficient (LPCC) of the original speech are extracted respectively, and the MFCC feature matrix and LPCC feature matrix are combined. Secondly, the feature dimension reduction method based on information entropy is used for column dimension reduction, and the feature matrix after dimension reduction is used for row dimension reduction based on energy feature dimension reduction method. Finally, the audio fingerprint is constructed by using the feature combination matrix after dimension reduction. When speech's user retrieval, the normalized Hamming distance algorithm is used for matching retrieval. Experiment results show that the proposed method has smaller audio fingerprint dimension and better robustness for long speech segments, and has higher retrieval efficiency while maintaining a higher recall rate and precision rate.

  • The spectral color resolution of an image is very important in color image analysis. Two factors influencing the spectral color resolution of an image are illumination intensity and lens aperture for a selected vision system. An optimal combination of illumination intensity and lens aperture for color image analysis was determined in the study. The method was based on a model of dynamic range defined as the absolute difference between digital values of selected foreground and background color in the image. The role of illumination intensity in machine vision was also described and a computer program for simulating the optimal combination of two factors was implemented for verifying the related algorithm. It was possible to estimate the non-saturating range of the illumination intensity (input voltage in the study) and the lens aperture by using a model of dynamic range. The method provided an optimal combination of the illumination intensity and the lens aperture, maximizing the color resolution between colors of interest in color analysis, and the estimated color resolution at the combination for a given vision system configuration.
