  • This study conducted a research on burn-out printing convergence technology for cellulose blend knit fabrics. Printing technology, which forms color pattern on the fabric, can be generally classified into four according to printer or printing method, e.g. screen printing, roller printing, rotary printing, digital printing. However, these printing methods are flat in design or pattern, which have limitation to overcome monotonousness of fabric, so that recently burn-out process method, which expresses three-dimensional pattern effect by treating chemical on the surface of fabric as the method to appeal its esthetics to the customers. Particularly, in case of cellulose/polyester composite material, first, it is proceeded in 2 processes, by dyeing cellulose or polyester fabric and burning out cellulose fabric, in this process, due to pollution caused by disperse dye migration, color of polyester fabric part could be discolored, which has high falt risk. This research considered coloring burn-out technique, which simultaneously proceed dyeing and burn-out by reducing dyeing and burn-out process to 1 stage, which were proceeded in 2 stages previously. As the research result, it was confirmed that reasonable depth of roller was 0.04~0.06mm in roller printing process, heat treatment condition of burn-out far-infrared radiation was $185^{\circ}C{\times}30m/min$. Color fastness to washing was confirmed to be 4-5 grade, color fastness to rubbing, 3-4 grade, color fastness to light, 4 grade. Also, it was confirmed that energy reduction effect appeared 38.19%, in case of energy cost per yard compared to the existing production, also, 19.74%, in case of production cost.

  • I designed a dietary life kitchen utensils which is focused by the shape of split bamboo that has meaning of health and safety and the shaman who is the religion and incantation performer, and who solve problems, which are impossible to solve in common methods, by borrowing the power and granting the meaning which is connected with transcendent existence and principal. Having closest relation with human being's diet culture is being changed with adding beauty instead of the part of simple practical aspect in our normal life. I tried to show incantation effect with keeping the characteristic of kitchen utensils by granting the symbolic meaning of shamanism which is the shelter that is projected the desire of human beings. the materials were produced of an ebony and steel and varnished with lacquer for coloring. For hand shape, which is hard to treat in irregular forms, the religious image of shamanism was formed by casting which expresses the touch of an ebony and the cold characteristic of metal. an overall design doesn't detail excessively distort or largely transform the form of dietary utensils, keeps its individuality, and emphasizes the image by figuring a grip part which a human can see and a body can approach. in addition, I try to show a point that shamanism has affected human life for long time and symbolic meaning of bamboo-shape shows health and safety. And these things vest with each dietary life tools and should be the role of enzyme about the effect of human life.

  • In this work, the post-treatment using organic acids during hair dyeing process was used to maintain hair color and to decrease hair damage. The effect of post-treatment using succinic acid and tartaric acid during hair dyeing process with cherry red and blue silver color on the persistence of hair color, tensile strength of hair, hair porosity, and surface characteristics of hair was investigated. After the repeated shampooing process, the experimental group with succinic acid and tartaric acid could more efficiently maintain the hair color than control group. The experimental group with succinic acid and tartaric acid could also increase the tensile strength of hair, decrease the hair porosity, and smoothen the hair surface, compared with control group. Particularly, tartaric acid was able to maintain the color of the dyed hair and protect the hair with higher efficiency than succinic acid.

  • The purpose of this experiment is to clarify the additional effect of antibiotics for the chicken breeding feed. This experiment was carried out with 6,560 individuals which were collected from four farms, Dugil, Hyubhoi, Sanggog and Kumsan. The duration of this experiment was 6 months from July to December in 1981. 1. Body weight and body gain. (1) The range of the body gain was 1.91-7.60% The most effective sections was T$_3$, and the effect was T$_2$, T$_4$, T$_1$, T$\sub$5/ in order. (2) The environmental sanitation of the Sanggog farm was not so good. In this farm the body gain was severely occurred in T$_3$ and T$_2$ sections. Mere gain obtained from T$\sub$5/ section. (3) The environmental sanitation was good in Dugil, Hyubhoi and Kumsan. A little body gain was occurred in these farms, but differences were shown according to the place or breeds. 2. Amount of feed intake feed conversion ratio. (1) Amount of feed intake was increased 0.13-3.19%, and feed conversion ratio was improved 1.68-4.62% compared with control. T$_3$ section showed high percent and T$_4$ T$_1$, T$\sub$5/, Is, C in order. (2) The keeping method of the chicken breed in Hyubhoi was floor brooding. From Hyubhoi and Sanggog farms, the efficiency was increased 9.4-9.8%. (3) From Dugil and Kumsan, the rate of improvement was low. 3. Mortality : Mortality was merely decreased in Sanggog and Kumsan farms which the sanitary and fowl caring conditions had been had, by additional antibiotics. But there was no worthy effect. 4. The ratio of carcass and the degree of skin coloration. The additional antibiotics in feed had no effect on the ratio of carcass but had the influence on the yellowish skin coloration. Skin coloring was good in T$\sub$7/ section and T$_1$, T$\sub$6/, T$_4$, C, T$_3$, T$\sub$5/, T$_2$ in order. 5. Economical efficiency (1) The addition of the antibiotics in feed increased 3.76-10.95% of gross earning. The highest earning was occurred in T$_4$ section and T$_3$, T$_1$, T$_2$, T$\sub$5/, C sections in order. (2) The earning rate was influenced by the antibiotic products. (3) In Dugil and Kumsan farms, there was no difference in earning, however, in Hyubhoi and Sanggog farms there was wide difference in earning. Conclusionally, the addition of antibiotics in chicken breeding feed is necessary. Especially in bad condition of environmental sanitation and floor brooding, the effect of additional antibiotics is clear. Selection of antibiotics from various kinds, maker's confidence and quality problems are important.

  • As most of citrus, shiranuhi mandarin ((Citrus unshiu ${\times}$ C. sinensis) ${\times}$ C. reticulata) mainly use the trifoliate orange (Poncirus trifoliata) as its rootstock which has dwarf and cold hardness in Korea. However, recently, scion root was observed in 'Shiranuhi' mandarin tree grafted onto the trifoliate orange. This study was carried out to find out effects of scion root occurrence on the fruit quality, flowering and yield of shiranuhi mandarin. For the experiment, we selected six farmers who have outbreak of scion root in their Shiranuhi mandarin orchards and surveyed the difference of fruit quality of shiranuhi mandarin hybrid between scion root and control (trifoliate orange root). In the results, flowering was severely decreased in scion root trees compared to control. As a result of survey of 174 Shiranuhi mandarins, 160 trees were proved to be scion root, and had less flowering. Fruiting of scion root also severely dropped compared to control and thus, yields of scion root (6.4 kg) reduced by 24% compared to control (26.7 kg). The fruit size, weight and soluble solid contents of scion root were significantly reduced, but there were no differences in acid contents and coloring of fruit. From the results, we concluded that scion root had negative influence on flowering, fruit size and the yields of Shrinanuhi mandarin hybrid.

  • Modern clothing is approached in the level of art, and it becomes the means of expressing individuality in modern society uniformed by the development of information society. In this modern society, modern men need the recovery of humanity and expectations of handcrafted skills for the succession of tradition culture. Prior to expressing individuality, we should examine our traditional culture and combine it with western culture. Quit started to be used for practical purpose such as life items, but it is expanded to the fields of art. Used in dress and its ornaments design, quilt is often applied to the addition of aesthetic factors or cubic material feelings by transforming its warming effect. Hereby, this study has a purpose to create high value added modern dross and its ornaments design by expressing the modern clothing is approached in the level of art, and it becomes the means of expressing individuality roe-dimensional characteristics of quilt, and applying the color combination and the surface of butterfly wings to dress and its ornaments design. The following are the results of this study. 1. The concept of quilt started for practical purposes, but it is expanded to decoration in modern times, and it is confirmed that quilt can be variously applied to handcrafted modern design. 2. Quilt removes the plane character of textile and it riches the three-dimensional material of dress and its ornaments. Applying these characteristics, the expression of transparent wings were possible with 3 transparent layers of textile. 3. The spledid color of butterfly wings are expressed by coloring oganza and felt, and the various colors of felt showed rich color gradation. 4. The form and pattern of butterfly wings are applied as modeling form and line, and the transformation. repetition and expansion of unit forms determined the form of quilting lines. By designing the characteristics of back wings for the composition line of clothing, the form characteristics of a motif could be emphasized. 5. By using felt, oganza, Damdam yarn and ostritch feathers in expressing butterfly wings, the warm material of Linbun is felt, and the tip hair of wings are expressed by croche techniques using Damdam yarn.

  • Purpose: To observe the histologic changes and clusterin expression in the acinar cells of the submandibular gland in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rat following irradiation. Materials and Methods: Mature Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into three groups: control, diabetic, and diabetic-irradiated groups. Diabetes mellitus was induced in the Sprague-Dawley rats by injecting streptozotocin, while the control rats were injected with citrate buffer only. After 5 days, rats in diabetic-irradiated group were irradiated with single absorbed dose of 10 Gy to the head and neck region. The rats were killed at 1, 3, 7, 14,21, and 28 days after irradiation. The specimen including the submandibular gland were sectioned and observed using histologic and immunohistochemical methods. Results : Morphologic change of acinar cells was remarkable in the diabetic group, but was not observed in the diabetic-irradiated group. Necrotic tissues were observed in the diabetic-irradiated group. Coloring of toluidine blue stain was most increased at 14 days in the diabetic group, however there were no significant change throughout the period of the experiment in the diabetic-irradiated group. Expression of clusterin was most significant at 14 days in the diabetic group, but gradually decreased with time after 7 days in the diabetic-irradiated group. Degeneration of clusterin was observed in the diabetic-irradiated group. Conclusion : This experiment suggests that the acinar cells of submandibular gland in rats are physiologically apoptosed by the induction of diabetes, but that the apoptosis is inhibited and the acinar cells necrotized after irradiation.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze entertainer Byeon Jeong-su's hair styles and thereby, apply the results to models. For the applications, models' hair styles were bisected into two sections, and thereby, the edges of the outsides were cut into solid points, and thereupon, into diverse bases by using vertical section, Perpendicular direction and square angles. On the other hand, the insides were cut in the same way of the outside bases by using radial section, varied combing and $45{\sim}90$ degree head angles. In addition, tops and sides were arranged in their corners, while a graduation technique was used to express a natural difference of levels. The fringes were cut by using free-hand and slicing techniques. furthermore, the quantity and mass of the hairs were treated with such techniques as thinning, swing, effect, rolling, slide and slicing, while a bridge product was used for coloring together with a highlight technique. The hair styles were rendered for straight and wave by using an magic iron machine. It was confirmed through this study that the same cutting techniques would result in different images depending on individuals' physical shapes, facial shapes, head skeletons and types of hairs. Thus, it is required of the hair designers to suggest their own custom hair designs adequate to individuals' images through continued image-wise hair design practices.

  • Turmeric is a yellow food-coloring spice containing curcuminoids, curcumin, demethoxycurcumin (DMC), and bisdemethoxycurcumin (BMC), which have several physiological effects. In the present study, the effect of microwave irradiation on the chemical properties, antioxidant activity, and cytotoxicity of turmeric were investigated. Degradation of turmeric pigments was accelerated upon increase in irradiation time or intensity at 405 nm. Residual levels of curcumin, DMC, and BMC after 5 minutes of irradiation at 700 W were 11.3, 34.4, and 71.2%, respectively. Scavenging activities of turmeric pigment against 2,2'-azinobis-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS) and 2,2-azobis (2-amidinopropane) dihydrochloride (AAPH) peroxyl radical and nitrite were enhanced significantly after microwave radiation. However, 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging activity remained unaffected. Cytotoxic activity of turmeric was significantly reduced, and hydrogen peroxide generated from turmeric increased after microwave irradiation. The results obtained indicate that microwave irradiation affects chemical stability and bioactivity of turmeric pigment. Hence, these effects should be considered when processing foods containing turmeric pigments.
