망점색인쇄물의 분광측색법과 자극치직독측색법에 대한 비교분석 (Camparision and Analysis about the Weighted-Ordinate Colorimetric Method and the Direct Colorimetric Method of Halftone Dot Printing Colors)

  • Test colors are halftone dot printed at the rate of 10% halftone dot area by process inksblack, cyan, magenta and yellow ink. Reproduced colors are measured by the weighted-ordinate colorimetric method and the direct colorimetric method. The weighted-ordinate colorimetric method compare favorably with the direct colorimetric method, because the former has good regular changes of tristimuIus values, chromacity coordinates, excitation purities, value functions and has smaller errors of dominant and complementary wavelengths than the latter. All test colors classify with the Munsell renotation.tation.

  • This study is to set a new standard for using of the colorimetric method through grasping the character of the colorimetric method, and measuring the chloride concentration at the place of the change of color. Also, to predict chloride concentration around rebar and time reaching limit chloride concentration through measuring the chloride concentration of concrete surface by the colorimetric method and this study presents the new program of concrete degradation and diagnosis of the durability by salt damage. First the use of the colorimetric method was examinated, second the chloride concentration through slicing concrete submerged in artificial seawater for 6 months was measured. And the chloride concentration at the place of the change of color was calculated by using colorimetric method. Finally, the cloride concentration of the concrete surface was calculated.

  • Chloride diffusivity is one of the important properties of concrete affecting the durability of a structure. The diffusivity for porous materials is determined conventionally by immersion in a solution. However, this method is complicate and time-consuming, often requiring months or years to obtain results. Thus, the application of colorimetric method to estimate the apparent diffusivity of chloride ion was verified in this study. The result reveals that the apparent diffusivity of chloride ion can be predicted to use colorimetric method. Additionally the colorimetric method is capable to predict the profile of chloride ion.

  • A number of different nanoscale zero-valent iron (nZVI) materials have been prepared and compared depending on the desired properties for the particular application, but different physicochemical properties of this prepared nZVI make it difficult to universally compare and standardize them to the same scale. In this study, we aimed to demonstrate a simple microplate-based colorimetric assay using 4-chlorophenol as an indicator with respect to the remediation of real treatment targets, such as trichloroethylene (TCE), 1,1,1-trichloroethane (TCA), and atrazine. Effect of nickel contents on 4-chlorophenol reduction was successfully investigated by the miniaturized colorimetric assay. In the same manner, the effect of nickel contents on dehalogenation of TCE, TCA, and atrazine was investigated and the pseudo-first-order kinetic constants were compared with the results for 4-chlorophenol. The similar pattern could be observed between 4-chlorophenol reduction obtained by colorimetric assay and TCE, TCA, atrazine reduction obtained by a traditional chromatographic method. The reaction kinetics does not match perfectly, but the degree of reaction can be estimated. Therefore, the colorimetric assay can be a useful and simple screening tool to determine nZVI reactivity toward halogenated organics before it is applied to a particular remediation site.

Role of Gel to Fluid Transition Temperatures of Polydiacetylene Vesicles with 10,12-Pentacosadiynoic Acid and Cholesterol in Their Thermochromisms

  • This study demonstrates gel-to-fluid transition temperatures of polydiacetylene bilayer vesicles could play important roles in their colorimetric transition temperatures. We prepared five types of polydiaceylene vesicles with 10,12-pentacosadiynoic acid (PCDA) and cholesterol (0-40 mol % of total content). From temperature-dependent observations of the optical signals (colors and UV-vis spectra), the blue-to-red colorimetric transition temperatures of polydiacetylene vesicles were decreased with the cholesterol contents. A further study with microcalorimetry and dynamic light scattering revealed that the polydiacetylene vesicles first underwent gel-to-fluid transitions, which were followed by event(s) responsible for the colorimetric transitions. Energies required for each event were quantified from analysis of the peaks in the microcalorimetry thermograms. The inclusion of cholesterol in the vesicles decreased both the gel-to-fluid and the colorimetric transition temperatures, suggesting that the colorimetric transition of the polydiacetylene vesicles was mediated by the former event although the event was not the direct reason for the color change.

  • A colorimetric sensor was investigated to achieve a low-cost warning device for harmful gaseous formaldehyde (HCHO). The sensor is based on selective reactions between hydroxylamine sulfate and HCHO, leading to the production of sulfuric acid. The produced acid results in color-changing response through the acid-base reaction with dye molecules impregnated on a solid membrane substrate. For attaining this purpose, sensors were fabricated by drop-casting a dye solution prepared using different pH indicators on various commercially available polymer sheets, and their colorimetric responses were evaluated in terms of sensitivity and reliability. The colorimetric sensor using bromophenol blue (BPB) and nylon sheet was found to exhibit the best performance in HCHO detection. An initial bluish green of a sensor was changed to yellow when exposed to gaseous formaldehyde. The color change was recorded using an office scanner and further analyzed in term of RGB distance for quantifying sensor's response at different HCHO(g) concentrations. It exhibited a recognizable colorimetric response even at 50 ppb, being lower than WHO's standard of 80 ppb. In addition, the sensor was found to have quite good selectivity in HCHO detection under the presence of common volatile organic compounds such as ethanol, toluene, and hexane.

  • 지난 수십년 동안, 환경오염물질에 대한 광학적 전기화학적 검출 방법에 관한 다양한 연구가 진행되었다. 최근에는 저렴하고, 장치가 불필요한 육안 식별 가능한 환경색센서가 개발되고 있다. 시각적 정성분석은 대상물질에 대한 즉각적인 정보를 제공하여, 실시간 현장 분석이 가능하게 해준다. 또한 정량분석이 가능한 색센서에 대한 관심도 높아지고 있다. 환경색센서는 기상의 VOC, 액상의 중금속 분석용으로 주로 개발되고 있다. 이에 본 총설에서는 다양한 환경색센서의 활용분야를 살펴보고, 기존 색센서의 문제점을 파악한 다음 환경색센서 기술의 발전방향에 관하여 전망하였다.

Analysis of Dimethylamine and Trimethylamine in Fishes by Gas Chromatography

  • To develop a rapid analytical method of dimethylamine(DMA) and trimethylamine(TMA) in fish, the contents of DMA and TMA in squid(Illex illecebrosus and Sepiell maindroni), cod(Gadus marcrocephalus) and plaice (Paralichthys olivaceus) by gas chromatographic (GC) and colorimetric method were determined. Recoveries for DMA in fish were 86.8~102.5% by GC and 74.2~94.5% by colorimetric method, while those for TMA were 93.0~101.1% by GC and 62.9~117.5% by colorimetric method. The contents of DMA and TMA in fish by GC were 29.7~325.3mg/kg and 145.6~356.0 mg/kg, respectively, and these by colorimetric method were 20.0~241.2mg/kg and 139.1~304.3mg/kg, respectively. The analysis of DMA and TMA in fishes by GC after the solvent extraction was simpler and faster and showed better recovery than colorimetric method.

Photochromic 렌즈의 광변색 이동 (Change of color transfer of Photochromic lens)

  • Photochoromic lens에 광을 조사하면 darkening 상태와 fading상태에서photo-transmittance는 감소한다. 광의 조사를 제거하면 fading 상태가 되어 photo-transmittance는 원래 상태로 회복하는 가역과정을 갖는다. 자체 제작한 Photochoromic lens에서 darkening과 fading 과정에서 Photochromism의 분광측색계를 이용하여 CIE $L^*a^*b^*$의 색 좌표을 얻는다. darkening과 fading상태에서 색 좌표($a^*-b^*$)는 일차 곡선이고 (-) 기울기를 이며, 선형적으로 변한다. 색 좌표 이동량은 Blue ${\rightarrow}$ Yellow, Red ${\rightarrow}$ Green형태이다. fading상태에서 색 좌표는 darkening 상태보다 $b^*$ 값이 낮고, Photochromism 좌표의 이동은 darkening 상태와 반대로 이동한다. Photochoromic lens에 대한 Photochoromism 평가 방법은 darkening과 fading에 대한 색 좌표 이동으로 이용 할 수 있다.

  • A new colorimetric method established for the determination of ampicillin was based on the reductions of phosphomolybdic acid by ampicillin to be resutled in a molybdenum blue which showed a mezimal absorbance at 770nm. The pH effects on a molybodenum blue solution was dependent significantly on temeprature, but the wave-length shift was not effected by the molybdenum blue.
