프랑스의 신인상파 화가 쇠라(Seurat)는 캔버스위의 독립 색채들은 망막위에서 재조직된다는 이론을 바탕으로 점묘화를 개발하였다. 점묘화는 캔버스에 작은 브러시 스트로크로 가득 채워서 그림을 그리는 방식이다. 이렇게 그려진 그림을 멀리 떨어져서 보면 각각의 브러시 스트로크는 보이지 않고, 혼합된 색상으로 보이게 된다. 이것을 색상의 병치혼합이라고 불린다. 본 논문에서는 점묘화 표현을 위한 회화적 렌더링기법을 제안한다. 우리는 점묘화에 나타나는 무수히 작은 점들을 자연스럽게 표현하기 위해서 왕타일링(Wang Tiling)기법을 활용한 계층적인 점 구조를 제안한다. 또한 신인상파의 팔레트 사용방법을 기반으로 사용자가 정의한 안료로 표현가능 한 팔레트를 설계한다. 마지막으로, 우리는 설계된 팔레트를 기반으로 계층적인 점구조로 샘플링 된 입력영상을 점묘 화가들이 했던 방식을 사용하여 병치혼합 시킴으로써 최종결과영상을 얻게 된다.

제품의 LIFE CYCLE이 짧아지고 있는 추세에 이미 출시된 제품에서 칼라 변경만을 통해 신제품과 같은 효과를 볼 수 있는데 칼라변경은 기능추가나 금형 수정에 비해 상대적으로 비용이 적게 들어가기 때문에 그 효용성은 더욱 크다고 할 수 있다. 본 연구는 현재 판매되고 있는 A사의 가습기를 Trend 분석을 통해 칼라와 그래픽 요소의 변경만으로 신 제품화하여 가습기 칼라 변경에 대한 경쟁력을 높이기 위한 디자인 사례연구이다.

In this paper, we present a method to define a color similarity between color images using Octree-based quantization and similar color integration. The proposed method defines major colors from each image using Octree-based quantization. Two color palettes to consist of major colors are compared based on Euclidean distance and similar color bins between palettes are matched. Multiple matched color bins are integrated and major colors are adjusted. Color histogram based on the color palette is constructed for each image and the difference between two histograms is computed by the weighted Euclidean distance between the matched color bins in consideration of the frequency of each bin. As an experiment to validate the usefulness, we discriminated the same clothing from CCD camera images based on the proposed color similarity analysis. We retrieved the same clothing images with the success rate of 88 % using only color analysis without texture analysis.

The purpose of this study is to develop the color palettes which are applicable to the color deign process for residential interiors according to the image types. To achieve this purpose, review of literature, questionnaire survey, and contents analysis were used. The major results of this study are as follows : The interior color images are clearly divided into 4 types, such as 'sophisticated', 'natural', 'gorgeousl', and 'casual'From the results of color palette, these 4 color image types are found to be very closely related to the interior image. It means that color image is very important element in Interior design process. Therefore, it is helpful to plan the color design according to the image types of interior color for good interior design.

A purpose of this study is to suggest color palette of outdoor environment of international students' dormitory in Yonsei university in order to improve the residents' satisfaction with the physical and mental factors. With the advent of the age of International and Global, more and more international students are coming to Korea studying Korean, so each university makes an effort to enhance the level of the university and establishing the internal boarding for the comfort of foreigners. This study draws problems of the color which lack to show internal boarding's identity and communicate with environment around the dorm both. The results of the study show, firstly, dominant color which is used on this project is based on Korean traditional color used in the International students' dormitory are harmonized with environment color and, next, accent color can reveal the identity of the dorm in Yonsei university.

The CMYK is the mathematical color model and the Musell system is an intuitive color model. CMYK color model needs to be proposed in the information age. These two models need to be integrated for convenience of color design. This paper deals with CMRK values, which have appeared in interior design, in association with the Munsell code. Firstly, color samples have been extracted from the cases of interior design. Secondly, the CMRK values of the color sample and the Munsell code have been found. Thirdly, relationship between the CMRK values has been formularized in comparison with the Whelan's color pallette by using the regression method. This paper concludes by proposing the formular which can be used to develope color palette in further research.

The purpose of this study is to ascertain the color design element in traditional palaces among those in the neighboring three nations of East Asia, notably Korea, China and Japan. Undoubtedly the ultimate goal to be pursued, by so doing, has to be inquiry into the identical prototype of Korean color design element. The East Asian color palette is rich in symbolic meaning, mostly these color are in harmony with the nature and human life. In this study, the color of the traditional palace is characterized by the actual color use. The colors of China are various, but they concentration R～G, middle/high level of chroma. In Korea, the colors in palace are distributed in YR/GY, middle/low chroma, relatively higher value. While the major features of Japan color are YR/achromatic with middle/low levels of value and chroma.

In this paper, the technical analysis and characteristics of screen content coding (SCC) based on High efficiency video coding (HEVC) are presented. For SCC, which is increasingly used these days, HEVC SCC standardization has been proceeded. Technologies such as intra block copy (IBC), palette coding, and adaptive color transform are developed and adopted to the HEVC SCC standard. This paper examines IBC and palette coding that significantly impacts RD performance of SCC for screen content. The HEVC SCC reference model (SCM) 4.0 was used to comparatively analyze the coding performance of HEVC SCC based on the HEVC range extension (RExt) model for screen content.

산업디자이너에게 있어서 색채의 선정과 사용은 매우 중요한 분야이다. 현재 색채는 디자인 업무의 주변조건에서 핵심적인 분야로 도약하였다. 색채는 감성, 관리, 심리의 세 가지 분야 로 주로 사용된다. 그러나 사용상에 있어서는 세 가지 분야 모두를 포함하여 실질적인 디자인을 하게 된다. 국내 색채디자인의 현실로 볼 때 기초적인 연구를 기반으로 한 실용적인 연구분야는 낙후된 실정이다. 특히 색채 감성분야와 색채관리 분야는 대우 중요한 분야이며 이 중에서도 색 이름과 관계된 영역이 가장 중요하다고 할 수 있다. 색 이름은 감성과 관리 를 포함하기 때문이다. 본 연구는 기존에 발표되거나 공식적으로 기록된 국제적으로 호환되는 색 이름을 모두 조사, 분석하고 검색하여 정확한 데이터를 구축하는 것이다. 결과적으로 색 이름을 이용하여 아이디어의 창출과 디자인의 결과물 생산시 정확성을 기하기 위함이다. 연구에 사용된 국내 자료로는 한국산업규격, 관련문헌, 현장조사 등 근거 있는 색채를 중심으로 조사하고 국제적인 자료로는 미국의 ISCC-NBS를 기반으로 일본, 유럽 등의 각 나라의 공식적 자료를 모두 취합하는 기본 조사 연구를 실시하였다. 조사 결과 약 11,000개의 색 이름과 33,000개의 색 이름을 수집 분류하였다. 수집법과 분류법은 국제 기호에 따르고 사용자 중심으로 배열하였다. 또한 산업 디자인 실무에 도움이 될 수 있도록 사용빈도가 높은 색채 체계인 Munsell, RGB, CMYK, XYZ 등 모든 국제규격 색값을 표기하여 디자인의 각 분야에서 모두 적용 될 수 있도록 활용성을 높였다. 현재 한국산업디자인진흥원의 홈페이지에서 운용 중이며, 폐속 개선과 발전을 해나가며 더욱 가치 있는 연구가 될 것이다.

The purpose of this study is providing a systematic method of exterior, interior finish materials and color scheme for elementary school and the actual color plans of elementary schools in Busan was analyzed to support the study. As a powerful design tool, a finish materials and a color are very effective to alter the perception of a building and a view. Most of the school, a shape and a material of elevations are monotonous and uniform and it makes students are hard to attach to their schools. As a place for learning and school life, the inner space of elementary classroom needs to be considered very important. The new basic guideline for developing and planning of architectural design could be achieved by researching a current plan and a finish material in elementary school. As a result, this study will benefit in planning both the exterior and interior environments of color.
