  • Coexistence of different wireless systems that share the 2.4 GHz ISM frequency band is becoming one of the most important issue. This paper presents a model of the interference that IEEE 802.11b may experience because of IEEE 802.15.4. The packet error rate (PER) of IEEE 802.11b under the interference of IEEE 802.15.4 is analyzed. The PER is obtained by using the bit error rate (BER) and the collision time. The analytical results are validated using simulation.

초보 및 일반운전자의 교통사고유형별 위험도 비교분석 (The Analysis of Risk according to Traffic Accident Types by Novice and Experienced Drivers in Korea)

  • 초보운전자와 일반운전자의 교통사고 유형별 위험도를 비교분석 하기 위해 우리나라에서 2005년부터 2006년까지 2년간의 발생한 교통사고 자료를 바탕으로 초보운전자에 의한 사고와 일반운전자에 의한 사고로 구분하여 분석하였다. 이를 위해 초보운전자와 일반운전자의 구분을 신규운전면허 취득 후 경과연도가 1년 이하인 운전자를 초보운전자 그룹으로, 1년이 초과한 운전자를 일반운전자 그룹으로 구분하였다. 두 그룹간의 위험도 비교는 사고발생 빈도와 심각도를 함께 반영할 수 있는 위험도 모형을 설정하여 비교분석 하였으며, 이 때 사고건수와 사망사고 건수의 적절한 적용비율 산정을 위해 가중치를 설정했으며, 가중치는 두 그룹간의 $x^2$값이 가장 작을 때의 값으로 도출하여 적용하였다.($\omega=0.6$) 교통사고 유형별 위험도 분석결과, 사고위험도가 높은 사고유형은 측면직각 충돌사고, 횡단 중 보행자와의 사고, 주정차 중 추돌사고로 분석되었고, 일반운전자 그룹에 비해 상대적으로 초보운전자 그룹의 위험도가 높은 사고유형은 공작물 충돌사고와 측면직각 충돌사고 등으로 분석되었다.

  • 최근 전자태그(Radio Frequency Identification: RFID) 기술의 비약적 발전과 함께 RFID에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있다. RFID는 다양한 응용 분야에서 널리 활용되고 있으며, 응용 분야에 따라 다수의 리더기를 공간에 배치하게 된다. 이때, 만약 리더기가 잘못 배치되면 리더기간의 간섭이 발생하고, 이로 인해 RFID 인식율이 저하되는 문제가 발생하기도 한다. 따라서, 비용적인 측면이나 시스템 성능적인 측면에서 리더기의 배치는 중요한 문제이다. 본 논문에서는 임의의 도면이 주어졌을 때, 전 영역을 커버할 수 있는 최소 개수의 리더기 배치를 위한 RFID 센서 네트워크 설계 시스템을 제안한다.

Fluctuation in Plasma Nanofabrication

  • Nanotechnology mostly employs nano-materials and nano-structures with distinctive properties based on their size, structure, and composition. It is quite difficult to produce nano-materials and nano-structures with identical sizes, structures, and compositions in large quantities, because of spatiotemporal fluctuation of production processes. In other words, fluctuation is the bottleneck in nanotechnology. We propose three strategies to suppress such fluctuations: employing 1) difference between linear and nonlinear phenomena, 2) difference in time constants, and 3) nucleation as a bottleneck phenomenon. We are also developing nano- and micro-scale guided assembly using plasmas as a plasma nanofabrication.1-5) We manipulate nano- and micro-objects using electrostatic, electromagnetic, ion drag, neutral drag, and optical forces. The accuracy of positioning the objects depends on fluctuation of position and energy of an object in plasmas. Here we evaluate such fluctuations and discuss the mechanism behind them. We conducted in-situ evaluation of local plasma potential fluctuation using tracking analysis of fine particles (=objects) in plasmas. Experiments were carried out with a radio frequency low-pressure plasma reactor, where we set two quartz windows at the top and bottom of the reactor. Ar plasmas were generated at 200 Pa by applying 13.56MHz, 450V peak-to-peak voltage. The injected fine particles were monodisperse methyl methacrylate-polymer spheres of $10{\mu}m$ in diameter. Fine particles were injected into the reactor and were suspended around the plasma/sheath boundary near the powered electrode. We observed binary collision of fine particles with a high-speed camera. The frame rate was 1000-10000 fps. Time evolution of their distance from the center of mass was measured by tracking analysis of the two particles. Kinetic energy during the collision was obtained from the result. Potential energy formed between the two particles was deduced by assuming the potential energy plus the kinetic energy is constant. The interaction potential is fluctuated during the collision. Maximum amplitude of the fluctuation is 25eV, and the average is 8eV. The fluctuation can be caused by neutral molecule collisions, ion collisions, and fluctuation of electrostatic force. Among theses possible causes, fluctuation of electrostatic force may be main one, because the fine particle has a large negative charge of -17000e and the corresponding electrostatic force is large compared to other forces.

This paper presents a model of the interference that IEEE 802.11b affected by IEEE 802.15.4. The packet error rate (PER) of IEEE 802.11b under the interference of IEEE 802.15.4 is analyzed. The PER is obtained by using the bit error rate (BER) and the collision time. Further, this paper suggests a packet length to reduce the effect of the IEEE 802.15.4 interference and obtain a maximum throughput of the IEEE 802.11b. The analytical results are validated using simulation.

  • The potential use of ranging sensors for reducing the occurrence of accidents in real environment is explored by many companies and laboratories. Most of the sensors under investigation utilize the FMCW(Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave) waveforms. The automotive environment presents to the FMCW radar sensor a multitude of moving and fixed targets and the sensor must detect and track only the targets which may pose a threat of collision or passengers accident. The sensor must function accurately in the presence of background echoes generated by moving and fixed targets, ground reflections, atmospheric noises, including rains, fog, and, snow and noise generated within the receiver. False detection of the desired target in this environment may issue false alarms. That may be dangerous to the passenger and the vehicle. A high false alarm rate is totally unacceptable. The false alarm mechanism consists of noise peaks, crossing the threshold and the undesired response of the system to off lane targets which are not potentially hazardous to the radar equipped vehicle. This paper presents an improve technique safety performance for driver-less operation using FMCW radar sensors.

초음파가 전착반응에 의한 구리의 회수에 미치는 영향 (The effect of the Ultrasound in recovery of Cu by the Electrochemical deposition)

  • In this study the ultrasound which has the properties of mixing, surface cleaning effect, increasing of the effective reaction surface area and increasing of the effective collision frequency, was used to enhance the recovering efficiency of Cu from the Cu-ion containning waste water. The ultrasonic reactor used in this study was dsigned and constructed for improving the disadvantage of the existing ultrasonic reactor From the experimental result and its analysis. we obtained following conclusions. 1. The ultrasound increased the rate of electrochemical deposition to 582.2% in maximum at the Condition of 0.1M-CuSO$_4$and 2.1V-overpotential. 2. This study gave the possibility of the scale-up of ultrasonic reactor and In particular, ultrasonic reactor would be effective in treatment of waste water contains a low concentration of Cu ion.

  • 본 논문은 군 전술 무선 통신망에서의 가용 주파수 채널 확보를 위한 인지 라디오 엔진 플랫폼 구조 및 인지 라디오 무선기기를 위한 가용 주파수 채널 추론기법을 제안하였다. 현재의 군 전술 통신망은 동종 및 이종 군 무선기기 주파수의 효과적 운용을 위한 가용 주파수 확보 및 군 무선기기 간의 상호공존 방안에 대한 필요성이 빠르게 증가하고 있는 실정이다. 본 논문은 최적의 가용 주파수 채널확보 방안으로 동적 스펙트럼 접속(DSA, Dynamic Spectrum Access) 실현을 위한 인지 라디오 엔진 기술 기반의 가용채널 추론기법에 대해 소개하였다. 이를 위해 주사용자(PU, Primary User)의 채널 이용현황 모델링 및 채널 점유확률 계산을 통하여 인지 라디오 무선기기를 위한 사례 기반의 가용채널 추론기법을 제안하였으며, 성능분석 모의실험을 통하여 주사용자의 점유채널 정보 대비 인지 라디오 무전기의 가용채널 획득 정보 간의 충돌확률 변화율을 분석하였다.

Frequency-Code Domain Contention in Multi-antenna Multicarrier Wireless Networks

  • Coordination among users is an inevitable but time-consuming operation in wireless networks. It severely limit the system performance when the data rate is high. We present FC-MAC, a novel MAC protocol that can complete a contention within one contention slot over a joint frequency-code domain. When a node takes part in the contention, it generates randomly a contention vector (CV), which is a binary sequence of length equal to the number of available orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) subcarriers. In FC-MAC, different user is assigned with a distinct signature (i.e., PN sequence). A node sends the signature at specific subcarriers and uses the sequence of the ON/OFF states of all subcarriers to indicate the chosen CV. Meanwhile, every node uses the redundant antennas to detect the CVs of other nodes. The node with the minimum CV becomes the winner. The experimental results show that, the collision probability of FC-MAC is as low as 0.05% when the network has 100 nodes. In comparison with IEEE 802.11, contention time is reduced by 50-80% and the throughput gain is up to 200%.

차량 롤전복의 과도거동에 관한 시험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Transient Behavior of Vehicle Rollover)

  • Rollover accident is one of the serious traffic accident and rollover accident takes high portion of all accident. The most common type of rollover is a tripped rollover which occupy 95% of all type of single-vehicle rollover. Tripped rollover occurs when a vehicle leaves normal road way and tripped by loose gravel, soil of fixed object such as guard rail, curbs and ditches. And the rest of the type of rollover is un-tripped rollover. An un-tripped rollovers that occurs during high-speed collision avoidance maneuvers. In this paper, presents the explanation of the un-tripped rollover test method and procedure, additionally this paper deals with various occurrence in the un-tripped test such as occurring excessive tire camber in the un-tripped test, tire side-wall contact with road surface and roll oscillation. And this paper analyzes the analysis of the roll rate amplitude in specific frequency through the FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) and the roll angle at the steering reverse timing which is the Fishhook test roll rate feedback time. Finally, this paper analyzes the relations between the estimated steady state roll gain and rollover stability.
