  • This study analyzes a medicine and iching-study(易學) and vital meaning through a me야cal science ruler called ZhangNan(章楠) of Qing-Dynasty(淸代), but has a purpose. First of all, the writer judges that the ZhangNan's medicine did not get out of a tradition of a Rui-Yi(儒醫, Confucian medicine) medicine greatly. He considered philosophy character of Rui-Yi formed after Jin-Yuan Dynsty(金元代) a purpose of own medicine. A way he kept the human life in order to realize a large meaning of Confucianism, and to stop a disease was necessary and spoke necessity of a medicine for this. Though a medicine is small, but becomes necessary thing in order to realize Confucianism whether a medicine and Confucianism are the only each other. The ZhangNan presented Zhi-zhong-he(致中和) with a way as soon as it is a purpose of a medicine, but ZhangNan is opening the point that Xing(性) was given 'Taiji(太極)'to. If Neo-Confucianism named 'Taiji(太極)-xing(性)-li(理)' is general, but ZhangNan is introducing the Taiji with Chi(氣). ZhangNan introduces the Taiji(太極) with one Chi(氣) and is rea야ng thing with another Zhu-zai(主宰) except Taiji, but cannot but recognize this with one in characteristics of a medicine ruler. A disregard is the inferior results, and this can do entrance of the Huang-di-nei-jing(業帝內經) which put a base with Han-Dynasty(漢代) iching-study(易學) and this too. It is made concrete 'Zangfu(藏府)-Taiji', and he is considering 'Dan-tian(丹田)-Taiji‘ in a discussion about the Great Absolute to be physical too more. Also, Taiji' is describing a point of contact that a spirit and the body meet with.

  • The main goal of this study is to develop a multi-metric fishway assessment model (Mm-FA) and evaluate the efficiency of fishway. The Mm-FA model has three major fishway components with nine metrics: structural characteristics, hydraulic/hydrologic features, and biological attributes. The model was developed for diagnosing and assessing fishway efficiency and tested to Juksan Weir at the Yeongsan River Watershed. Structural characteristics of fishway included slope of the fishway (M1), ratios of fishway width to stream width (M2), and the proportion of orifice clogging and orifice size (M3). Hydraulic/hydrologic characteristics included depth of fishway entrance head (M4), depth of exit tail (M5), and current velocity of inner fishway (M6). Biological characteristics included fish species ratio of inner fishway to upper-lower weir (M7), fish length distribution (M8), and the proportion of migratory fish species to the total number of species (M9). Overall, the assessment of fishway efficiency showed the total score of the Mm-FA model was 25 in the Juksan Weir, indicating "good condition" by the criteria of the five-level classification system. The Mm-FA model may be used as a key tool for the assessment of fishway efficiency, especially on the 16 weirs constructed for the "Four Rivers Restoration Project" after a partial calibration of Mm-FA model.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate if there is any regional distribution difference in the frequency of geographical location's name mentioned on the SAT Korean geography test. The reviewed items were used for geography subject test in Korean SAT exam in between 2005 and 2015. Researchers analyzed how often a location had been mentioned in the form of maps, captions, and graphs in the national college entrance exam for 11 years. The result indicated that 42% out of the 220 items were using map and about 33% of them represented a specific region. Especially, items related with climate, industries, and local area section contained a specific area information more frequently than others. Moreover, there were 76 cities mentioned in geography subject test on Korean SAT exam during 11 years and 25 places among them were referred to more than three times. The most frequently appeared city was Seoul followed by Incheon, Daegu, Busan, Gangneung, and Jeju and this result shows that there were some regional bias in geography test on the SAT Korean exam.

  • The basic experiments on the plastic sea eel pots used in fishing were carried out in order to investigate the elasticity of the funnel ribs, hydrodynamic resistance, sinking time and diffusion of the bait from June to October, 1987. The elasticity of the bamboo funnel ribs was higher than that of the polypropylene ribs up to the load 150g. The hydrodynamic resistance R (kg) of the pots towing to the head direction horizontally in relation to towing velocity V (m/sec) was expressed as following formula; R=0.36V super(2.01) and coefficient of drag C sub(D) was 0.52. The sinking times of the covered pots by tape fully or partially were late 1-2 second than the typical pots within the water depth 7.5m. The diffusion tendency through the covered pots using dye and sardine extracts solution was concentrated to the entrance more than the typical pots. However, fishing efficiency as number and weight of fish per pots for nine times fishing operation was revealed no difference between the covered pots and the typical pots.

  • The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of background variables, development stage, and perception of accountability on kindergarten teachers' adaptation to the teaching profession. The researchers surveyed 224 teachers in public and private kindergarten. The results of the study are as follows: First, in terms of age, the older they were, the better teachers adjusted to the teaching profession. As for their teaching career, the more teaching experience they had, the better teachers adapted to the teaching profession, but there were no significant differences between 6-10 years and more than 11 years. As to the level of education, four-year college graduates or graduate school graduates adjusted better than two-year college graduates. Second, teachers in the Capability Development Stage and Growth-Enthusiasm Stage showed a higher degree of adaptation than those in the Entrance-Acceptance Stage. Finally, the higher perception of accountability they have, the better teachers could adapt to the teaching profession. Among the categories of accountability, the professional accountability affected most highly the teachers' adaptation to the teaching profession.

  • Background: The objectives of this study were to establish a swimming capability model for largemouth bass using the FishXing (version 3) program, and to determine the swimming speed and feasibility of fish passage through a waterway tunnel. This modeling aimed to replicate the waterway tunnel connecting the Andong and Imha Reservoirs in South Korea, where there is a concern that largemouth bass may be able to pass through this structure. As largemouth bass are considered an invasive species, this spread could have repercussions for the local environment. Results: Flow regime of water through the waterway tunnel was calculated via the simulation of waterway tunnel operation, and the capability of largemouth bass to pass through the waterway tunnel was then estimated. The swimming speed and distance of the largemouth bass had a positive linear function with total length and negative linear function with the flow rate of the waterway tunnel. The passing rate of small-size largemouth bass (10-30 cm) was 0%at a flow of $10m^3/s$ due to rapid exhaustion from prolonged upstream swimming through the long (1.952 km) waterway tunnel. Conclusions: The results of FishXing showed that the potential passing rate of large size largemouth bass (>40 cm) through the waterway tunnel was greater than 10%; however, the passage of largemouth bass was not possible because of the mesh size ($3.4{\times}6.0cm$) of the pre-screening structures at the entrance of the waterway tunnel. Overall, this study suggests that the spread of largemouth bass population in the Imha Reservoir through the waterway tunnel is most likely impossible.

  • This study was carried out to determine the proper transplanting time of Platanus occidentalis L. (plane tree, sycamore) with 5 to 6 cm and 25 to 30 cm in diameter of breast height at the forest nursery of Chonnam National University in 1977. For that purpose, the experiment of the time of transplantation, and the moisture content and soluble sugar were analysed. The results are as follows: 1. Both its rooting and growth were slightly different in the period of January to early April (before bud-break), but remarkably declined after its bud-break (mid-April to May). 2. And also, its moisture content and soluble sugar were slightly different (January to early April), but, on the other hand, considerably increased in the content of moisture and sharply decreased in soluble sugar after bud-break (mid-April to May). 3. In comparision with healthy trees, rooting and growth of trees infected with Cankers were unusually retarded and its moisture content and soluble sugar were much less. 4. The proper time to plant sycamore was recognized to be the period of November to March, since the higher amounts of soluble sugar and the lesser amounts of moisture in that period. 5. The sudden exposure to the sun of the boles of diseased and wounded trees could be in death in case of sun-scald on the side of south-west. 6. Pruning wounds should be treated with an antiseptic, as soon as they are made, to prevent entrance of decay or disease while the wound is healing. 7. The wound and sun-scald can be presented by covering the trunk with straw ropes before transplantations.

  • To provide some suggestions on the setting of mathematics test in the College Scholastic Ability Test(CSAT), this paper analyses the result of mathematics test in the CSAT from 2005 to 2011, on which the 7th national mathematics curriculum has been applied. From the result, four suggestions are drawn out. First, the mathematics test needs to be easier to reduce the burden of test-taker. Accordingly, the number of items and their scores need to be adjusted. Second, the proportion of multiple-choice items has to be reduced whereas that of short-answer items has to be increased to enhance the function of the CSAT as a selection test. Third, the sub-item system needs to be adopted. Fourth, new item-types have to be developed.
