  • This research has been conducted under the premise that private records can supplement public records. It recognized that important records of a university could be supplemented with not only administrative records, but also with private records of persons related to the university. The analysis of the founders' life history research was used to establish the classification system of private records and collection strategies. The life history of the founders of the university was analyzed and utilized for the classification system of records and the construction of the collection strategy. This research proposes a multiclassification system with function, subject, and type as the criteria of the classification system, and uses keywords derived from the classification system as a starting point of searching for future record collection and deducing them as potential collectors and producers. Although it cannot be a standard for all private records, it can be considered a significant attempt that takes the diversity of private records into account.

  • Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) suffer from not only a short lifetime due to limited energy but also an energy imbalance between nodes close to the sink and others. In order to fundamentally solve the short lifetime, recent studies utilize the environmental energy such as solar power. Additionally, WSNs using mobile sinks are being studied to address the energy imbalance problem. This paper proposes an improved CTP (Collection Tree Protocol) scheme which uses these two approaches simultaneously. Basically, it is based on a CTP scheme which is a very popular data collection strategy designed for the typical battery-based WSNs with a fixed sink. Therefore, we tailored it for solar-powered WSNs with a mobile sink. Performance verification confirms that our scheme reduces the number of blackout nodes significantly compared to the typical CTP, thus increases the amount of data collected by the sink.

  • Quality criteria for interaction between a pantograph and overhead contact wire is a most important requirement to assess of the performance for the current collection system. Interaction performance between pantograph and catenary system is subject to approval by the infrastructure manager when a new design and contraction of overhead contact line and pantograph are installed. Among the various performance, percentage of arcing at maximum line speed is a simple test method compared with contact force of pantograph due to direct sensing of pantagraph, calibrations, installations of train, and etc. On the other hand, percentage of arcing is need to reliable arcing detector and general requirements with accordance with EN 50317. In this paper, percentage of arcing are investigated on the function of duration of arc and proposed which is satiable of percentage of arcing. As a results, we proposed which duration of arcs are unsuitable from infrastructures point of view as performance testing for quality of current collection.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the establishment and administrative strategies for shared repositories for academic libraries in Korea, using the US ReCAP (Research Collections and Preservation Consortium) Project as a case study. The US ReCAP Project was a collaboration between the New York Public Library and the university libraries of Columbia University, Harvard University, and Princeton University. In-depth interviews were conducted with librarians and administrators in charge of the ReCAP Project to understand the original vision of the project, as well as how the strategy and approach evolved over the years. The analysis results revealed that shared repositories for libraries have evolved into shared collections enabling shared use. But shared repositories require a central management system to be successful in the long-term. Additionally, findings showed that the shared repository filled more quickly than anticipated. This in turn required collaborative planning on shared collection development and selection policies to determine which materials to send to the shared repository.

  • If an underground accident occurs, the cause must be quickly identified and human and material damage reduced. The Underground Accident Investigation Committee is responsible for identifying the causes of accidents and preparing response plans to prevent similar accidents from occurring in the future. The law stipulates that the Underground Accident Investigation Committee can operate from a minimum of 6 months to a maximum of 9 months after an accident occurs. However, the operation schedule of the Underground Accident Investigation Committee seems difficult to cite the accident investigation report to the construction project currently in progress at the same time project. In this study, the Underground Accident Investigation Committee seeks to establish a strategy for developing technology that can shorten data collection and analysis, which previously took 3 months, to less than 1 month. As a result of the research, five areas of technology development identified, ground data collection and transmission technology, ground safety data generation technology, digital twin-based underground safety analysis and visualization technology, digital twin-based geo-ambulance construction and operation technology, and digital twin-based geo-ambulance standardization and legal system. research was able to be conducted. If the proposed technology is developed, it is expected to contribute to reducing accident scenes through faster decision making than before.

  • To explain the horizontal expansion of a rhizomatous perennial, Convallaria keiskei(lily-of-the-valley), in a study site of Chunchon, Kangwon Province, Korea, ramet growth and clonal structure were studied. Remarkable growth stategies were clarified. First, the timing for the successive phenological events such as sprouting. flowering and rhizome growth for lily-of-the-valley was fitted to exploit early spring when the canopy of overstory was opened. Second, these events were supported by effective matter allocation pattern: for example, two-year investment for new rhizomes enabled the first year ramets to mature in six weeks after sprouting and to grow up to 85% of the leaf area of perennial ramets. Finally, the ramet population was increased by local disturbances such as freezing, herbivory and collection by human. The rule that a clone was supposed to produce one new thizome per year was broken by occasional disturbances. Then, up to 5rhizomes from latent bur could be redeveloped. Based on clonal structure, 80% or total clones have from 1 to 4 ramets. this means there have occurred minor disturbances. Therefore, in conclusion, the successful flourishing of lily-of-the-valley came from its effective frowth strategy to take advantage of site disturbance.

  • Focusing on complex diseases of public health significance, strategic issues regarding the on-going Korean Genome Cohort were reviewed: target size and diseases, measurements, study design issues, and follow-up strategy of the cohort. Considering the epidemiologic characteristics of Korean population as well as strengths and drawbacks of current research environment, we tried to tailor the experience of other existing cohorts into proposals for this Korean study. Currently 100,000 individuals have been participating the new Genome Cohort in Korea. Target size of de novo collection is recommended to be set as between 300,000 to 500,000. This target size would allow acceptable power to detect genetic and environmental factors of moderate effect size and possible interactions between them. Family units and/or special subgroups are recommended to parallel main body of adult individuals to increase the overall efficiency of the study. Given that response rate to the conventional re-contact method may not be satisfactory, successful follow-up is the main key to the achievement of the Korean Genome Cohort. Access to the central database such as National Health Insurance data can provide enormous potential for near-complete case detection. Efforts to build consensus amongst scientists from broad fields and stakeholders are crucial to unleash the centralized database as well as to refine the commitment of this national project.
