Optimum compositions for piezoelectric properties of $(Bi_{0.5}Na_{0.5})_{(1-x)}Ba_xTiO_3$ ceramics were investigated in the range of $x=0{\sim}0.1$ covering rhombohedral to tetragonal phase regions. No impurity phases other than a perovskite phase were found and the grain size decreased with increasing x. A two-phase coexisting morphotropic phase area rather than boundary dividing rhombohedral and tetragonal phase regions appeared to exist at $x=0.05{\sim}0.08$. As for piezoelectric properties within morphotropic phase compositions, the piezoelectric constant ($d_{33}$) and the electromechanical coupling factor ($K_p$) showed peak values at x=0.065, 192 pC/N and 34%, respectively, indicating x=0.065 as an optimum composition for piezoelectric $(Bi_{0.5}Na_{0.5})_{(1-x)}Ba_xTiO_3$ ceramics.
SPME (Soild phase microextraction) has been used in the analysis of many volatile organic compounds, such as geosmin and 2-methylisoborneol (2-MIB), trihalomethanes (THMs) in drinking water. SPME fiber is characterized by high adsorption capacity (DVB/CAR/PDMS, DVB/PDMS etc.). Although the highly active adsorption capacities of the SPME fiber are often to the chemical functional group, surface properties play a significant role in determining the surface adsorption capacities. The objectives of this study were to evaluate effect of residual chlorine on analysis of geosmin and 2-MIB. Image taken by SEM before preloaded with chlorine, the surface and porous media was almost perfect spherical shape and no clogging of pores. However, after preloaded with chlorine the surface was aggregated and pore was blocked. The recovery rate of geosmin and 2-MIB coexisting with chlorine was reduced by 35 to 62%. The recovery rate with preloaded with chlorine was reduced by 25 to 43%. The lower concentration of geosmin and 2-MIB and the higher concentration of chlorine existed in water, the lower the recovery rate was.
A back propagation artificial neural network model with one hidden layer is established to correlate the liquid-liquid equilibrium data of hydrocarbon-water systems. The model has four inputs and two outputs. The network is systematically trained with 48 data points in the range of 283.15 to 405.37K. Statistical analyses show that the optimised neural network model can yield excellent agreement with experimental data(the average absolute deviations equal to 0.037% and 0.0012% for the correlated mole fractions of hydrocarbon in two coexisting liquid phases respectively). The comparison in terms of average absolute deviation between the correlated mole fractions for each binary system and literature results indicates that the artificial neural network model gives far better results. This study also shows that artificial neural network model could be developed for the phase equilibria for a family of hydrocarbon-water binaries.

In this paper, we propose an efficient congestion control scheme for interworking between 5GS(5G system) and LTE(Long-Term Evolution), called ECC(Efficient Congestion Control). The proposed congestion control scheme (ECC) is considered for coexistence of 5GS and legacy LTE systems and provides a prompt service connectivity based on overriding method while the backoff timer is running in the UE. Also, we briefly introduce Rel-15 5GS from a congestion control perspective and the proposed ECC and simulation results for the existing legacy congestion control mechanism and ECC in the 5GS-LTE coexisting environment are presented. Lastly, the improvement direction is considered in future 3GPP 5GS phase 2 standard in this paper.
Although there are many possible mechanisms for the intrinsic seismic attenuation in composite materials that include fluids, relative motion between solids and fluids during seismic wave propagation is one of the most important attenuation mechanisms. In our previous study, we conducted ultrasonic wave transmission measurements on an ice-brine coexisting system to examine the influence on ultrasonic waves of the unfrozen brine in the pore microstructure of ice. In order to elucidate the physical mechanism responsible for ultrasonic wave attenuation in the frequency range of 350.600 kHz, measured at different temperatures in partially frozen brines, we employed a poroelastic model based on the Biot theory to describe the propagation of ultrasonic waves through partially frozen brines. By assuming that the solid phase is ice and the liquid phase is the unfrozen brine, fluid properties measured by a pulsed nuclear magnetic resonance technique were used to calculate porosities at different temperatures. The computed intrinsic attenuation at 500 kHz cannot completely predict the measured attenuation results from the experimental study in an ice-brine coexisting system, which suggests that other attenuation mechanisms such as the squirt-flow mechanism and wave scattering effect should be taken into account.
The white aluminum phases in acid mine drainage usually precipitates when mixed with stream waters with relatively high pH. The minerals in white precipitates play important roles in controlling the behavior of heavy metals by adsorbing and coprecipitation. By the phase transition of these minerals in white precipitates, dissolution and readsorption of heavy metals may occur. This study was conducted to obtain preliminary information on the phase transition of the mineral phases in white precipitates. In this study, the mineral phase changes in the white precipitates collected from the stream around Dogye Mining Site over time were investigated with different pH values and temperatures. White precipitates consist mainly of basaluminite, amorphous $Al(OH)_3$ and a small amount of $Al_{13}$-tridecamer. During aging, the incongruent dissolution of the basaluminite occurs first, increasing the content of the amorphous $Al(OH)_3$. After that, pseudoboehmite is finally precipitated following the precursor phase of pseudoboehmite. At $80^{\circ}C$, this series of processes was clearly observed, but at relatively low temperatures, no noticeable changes were observed from the initial condition with coexisting basaluminite and amorphous $Al(OH)_3$. At high pH, the desorption of $SO{_4}^{2-}$ group in basaluminite was initiated to promote phase transition to the pseudoboehmite precursor. Over time, the solution pH decreases due to the dissolution and phase transition of the minerals, and even after the precipitation of pseudoboehmite, only the particle size slightly increased but no clear cystal form was observed.

The semi-solid forging is a new forging technology in which the billet is heated to the semi-solid state coexisting liquid and solid phase for making globular microstructure and subsequently formed. As the semi-solid forging is compared with conventional casting such as die casting and squeeze casting for the characteristics of its process, the product without inner defects such as gas porosity and segregation can be obtained and its microstructure is globular grain. Simutaneously, its mechanical properties are improved by globular microstructure and the lower temperature of the slug causes the cycle time of manufacturing to be shortened and the die life to be lengthened. As it is compared with conventional cold and hot forging, it is possible to minimize the equipment of production owing to a lower forming load and reduce the number of process by a followed treatment for complex shaped product. Therefore it is needed to confirm the quality of a semi-solid forged product by defining its characteristics quantitatively under these advantages. This paper investigates the formability of a master cylinder by its forming variables. And the microstructural characteristics and mechanical property of it is also studied.
An ion-association chromatography was applied for the separation and determination of individual rare earth elements (REE) contained in mineral monazite. Prior to the determination, the group separation of REE was achieved by a cation exchange column of Dowex 5OW-X8 resin. The quantitative recovery of REE by the resin column, free from coexisting elements in monazite, was confirmed with radioactive tracers as well as with ICP-MS. Individual REE at ppm level was separated on reversed-phase column ($\mu$-Bondapak $C_{18}$) using gradient elution from 0.05 to 0.3 M $\alpha$-hydroxyisobutyric acid at pH 4.6. The individual REE was detected at 546 nm following post-column reaction with PAR (4-(2-pyridylazo)-resorcinol monosodium salt).

As the national interest in sports has been increased over time, sports facilities and sports complex are considered more than just physical environments for training athletes or watching games. Sports facilities now become symbolic spatial devices to represent the national and cultural pride of any countries. The existing national training camp located in Taenung, Seoul is gotting outdated and degraded. The polluted air in the city risks athletes' health condition. The government planned to construct the second training camp at Jincheon, Chungbuk at the area of $2,171,910m^2$. The Korea Sports Council called for proposals to envision the future training camp, and they held a design competition from August to November, 2005. The first phase was to present the masterplan for the entire site including training buildings, outdoor training facilities, dormitories, a visitor center, a research center, education and administration buildings. Considering the size of the site, the planning process required a strong relationship between landscape and architecture. This study tries to provide general explanations on the winning proposal focused on the landscape-related issues. It also attempts to have reference points for contemporary planning and design issues to situate the project in the stream of continuing design effort to avoid the dichotomy between nature and culture. The landscape proposal for the new national taming camp suggests four main strategies; 1) The camp has two intersecting and interweaving parks which represent the natural and urban order. 2) The entire site is organized and networked by the flow of landscape called landscape ribbon in terms of topography, vegetation, and water flow. 3) The landscape is choreographed through the time and process. 4) The ecological process and the digital contents are juxtaposed in the landscape. This winning proposal is the first step to portray the national vision for the sustainable environment coexisting with sports industry. Landscape in this proposal is an active agent to network various parts of the site which enables landscape to be infrastructure. Landscape design in this proposal should be considered open-ended strategies rather than determined concrete forms and its engaging further development will be tested in following Design-Build phase.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the crystalline structure and optical properties of (GaZn)(NO) powders prepared by solid-state reaction between GaOOH and ZnO mixture under $NH_3$ gas flow. While ammoniation of the GaOOH and ZnO mixture successfully produces the single phase of (GaZn)(NO) solid solution within a GaOOH rich composition of under 50 mol% of ZnO content, this process also produces a powder with coexisting (GaZn)(NO) and ZnO in a ZnO rich composition over 50 mol%. The GaOOH in the starting material was phase-transformed to ${\alpha}$-, ${\beta}-Ga_2O_3$ in the $NH_3$ environment; it was then reacted with ZnO to produce $ZnGa_2O_4$. Finally, the exchange reaction between nitrogen and oxygen atoms at the $ZnGa_2O_4$ powder surface forms a (GaZn)(NO) solid solution. Photoluminescence spectra from the (GaZn)(NO) solid solution consisted of oxygen-related red-emission bands and yellow-, green- and blue-emission bands from the Zn acceptor energy levels in the energy bandgap of the (GaZn)(NO) solid solutions.
