연속회분식 공정에서 COD부하에 따른 질산화/탈질율 및 유출질소 분휴 (Nitrification/Denitrification Rate and Classification of Output Nitrogen according to COD Loads in SBR)

  • In this study, we investigated the nitrification/denitrification rate and classification of output nitrogen of a sequencing batch reactor (SBR) system with the variation of COD loads ; COD loads of 0.3, 0.4, 0.6, 0.7, 0.8, 1.0 and $1.2kgCOD/m^3{\cdot}d$ were tested to determine the optimum conditions for the operation of the SBR and increase its nitrogen removal efficiency. As the COD loads increased, the nitrification rate at aerobic(I) period and the denitrification rate at anoxic(I) period were decreased. With the variation of COD loads, the amounts of nitrogen removed in the clarified water effluent were 63.9, 54.2, 34.7, 22.5, 13.7, 12.5 and 26.5 mg/cycle, respectively. The amounts of nitrogen removed during the sludge waste process were 19.5, 26.6, 41.0, 47.3, 58.1, 72.4 and 88.1 mg/cycle, respectively. The amounts of nitrogen removed by denitrification were 66.8, 69.3, 68.9, 56.5, 39.5, 7.3 and 0.0 mg/cycle, respectively, indicating that COD load more than $0.7kgCOD/m^3{\cdot}d$ decreases the amounts of denitrified nitrogen. The nitrogen mass balances were calculated as the percentages of nitrogen removed in the clarified water effluent or by denitrification and sludge waste processing in each cycle of SBR operation and were 99.0, 98.5, 95.4, 82.1, 73.0, 60.5 and 74.8% for COD loads of 0.3, 0.4, 0.6, 0.7, 0.8, 1.0 and $1.2kgCOD/m^3{\cdot}d$, respectively.

  • Acid and alkali pretreatments were applied to tofu processing waste (TPW) to increase the solubility of ingredients in TPW. Pretreatment at 1.0% of HCl and 2.5% of NaOH condition resulted in the increase of SCOD concentration from 3.2 g COD/L to 27 g COD/L and 33 g COD/L, respectively. The acid and alkali-pretreated TPW was studied for its fermentative $H_2$ production capacity in batch mode using a thermophillic mixed culture. Alkali pretreatment on presence of 2.5% NaOH exhibited more soluble portion released compared to acid pretreatment using HCl, however the $H_2$ production from acid pretreated TPW was better than alkali-pretreated TPW probably due to the sodium inhibition on microbial activity. In addition, sewage sludge was externally added to the acid-pretreated (1.0% HCl) TPW by 20% (on volume basis). Average H2 production rate was increased from 31 to 78 ml/L-broth/hr, and it was attributed to the high buffer capacity and abundant nutrients especially divalent cation in sewage sludge.

  • In the industrial wastewater that occupies a large proportion of river pollution, the wastewater generated in textile, leather, and plating industries is hardly decomposable. Though dyeing wastewater has generally been treated using chemical and biological methods, its characteristics cause treatment efficiencies such as chemical oxygen demand (COD) and suspended solids (SS) to be reduced only in the activated sludge method. Currently, advanced oxidation technology for the treatment of dyeing wastewater is being developed worldwide. Electro-coagulation is highly adapted to industrial wastewater treatment because it has a high removal efficiency and a short processing time regardless of the biodegradable nature of the contaminant. In this study, the effects of the current density and the electrolyte condition on the COD removal efficiency in dyeing wastewater treatment by using electro-coagulation were tested with an aluminum anode and a stainless steel cathode. The results are as follows: (1) When the current density was adjusted to $20A/m^2$, $40A/m^2$, and $60A/m^2$ under the condition without electrolyte, the COD removal efficiency at 60 min was 62.3%, 72.3%, and 81.0%, respectively. (2) The removal efficiency with NaCl addition was 7.9% higher on average than that with non-addition at all current densities. (3) The removal efficiency with $Na_2SO_4$ addition was 4.7% higher on average than that with non-addition at all current densities.

  • In order to utilize marine processing waste which would normally be discarded, cod liver protein was hydrolysed by ${\alpha}$-chymotrysin, and the hydrolysate was investigated for the new angiotensin I converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. Thy hydrolysate was separated into three major types, with molecular weight cut-off (MWCO) values less than 10 kDa, 5 kDa and 1 kDa of ultrafiltration membranes, respectively. ACE inhibitory peptides were isolated from the fractions passed through MWCO 1 kDa membrane, and purified by using ion-exchange chromatography on a SP-Sephadex C-25 column, gel filtration on a Sephadex G-15 column, and HPLC on an ODS column. The purity was identified with capillary electrophoresis. The amino acid sequences of two peptides were Met-Ile-Pro-Pro-Tyr-Tyr (IC50=10.9 ${\mu}$M) and Gly-Leu-Arg-Asn-Gly-Ile (IC50=35.0 ${\mu}$M)

진동막 분리장치를 이용한 제지폐수의 재이용에 관한 연구 (A study on the pulp and paper mills waste water Recycling by VSEP membrane system)

  • Conventional membrane systems was difficult to treatment for pulp and paper mills waste warter. Technological advances in membrane filtration systems have created opportunity for pulp and paper mills to treat effluent streams in order to meet stricter environmental constraints. "Vibratory Shear Enhanced Processing(VSEP)" developed by new logic international makes if possible to filter effluent streams without the fouling problems exhibited by conventional membrane systems. Various kinds of waste water occurred to and paper mills experiment with "VSEP" set up conventional membrane. The results were as followes : Excepting ultra filter($0.1{\mu}\textrm{m}$ Teflon, C-100, G-50), Nano filter(NTR-7450, DS-5, PVD-1) and reverse osmosis(ACM-4) was treated with very excellent weight of treatment, electric conductivity, removal COD, TDS, turbidity.

  • 식품공장 폐수에는 각종 유기물을 다량 함유하고 있다. 이와 같은 식품공장 폐기물의 미생물학적 처리효과를 검토하는 동시에 폐수 중에서 배양된 곰팡이 균체 단백질을 분리 회수함으로 해서 폐수처리비용을 절검하고, 단백질 함량이 높은 균체단백사료를 개발할 목적으로 식품공장 폐수의 BOD 및 COD를 낮은 수준으로 감소시키고 증식속도가 빠르며 균체수율이 높고 고농도의 단백질을 함유하며 소화율이 높은 균체를 생산할 수 있는 곰팡이로 Aspergillus fumigatus를 분리 선발하였고, 선발된 균주의 최적배양조건인 $35{\sim}40^{circ}C,\;pH\;4.0{\sim}4.5$에서 pilot plant의 연속배양장치를 이용하여 주정공장 폐수를 기질로 하여 일정시간 동안 배양하여 폐수의 BOD, COD를 90% 이상 감소시켜 폐수정화를 도모할 수 있었으며 균체단백질을 기준 배합사료에 첨가하여 실시한 동물사양 시험 결과, 사양동물의 체중증가량과 단백질 이용율이 대조표준 시험구에 준할 수 있는 효과를 보여 주었다.

음식물 소멸기에서 발생하는 응축폐수의 Polyethylene 침지형 중공사막을 이용한 처리 특성 (Processing Characteristics of the Condensed Wastewater Resulting from Food Waste Disposal using a Submerged Polyethylene Hollow Fiber Membrane)

  • 연구는 음식물 쓰레기를 음식물 소멸기에서 미생물에 의해 발효하여 유기물을 감량화하고, 음식물 발효시 발생되는 가스를 냉각기에서 기체와 수분으로 분리하여 기체는 반응기로 다시 보내고 수분은 응축하여 침지식 MF 중공사 분리막이 장착된 MBR 시스템에 적용하여 처리하는 시스템에 관한 연구이다. (주)바이오하이테크에서 제작한 음식물 소멸기와 수처리 장치에 침지식 MF 중공사 모듈을 설치하여 90일간 H연구소 직원식당에서 발생되는 음식물 쓰레기를 연속 투입하여 처리하였다. 음식물 소멸기 초기 Seeding를 위하여 수분조절제로 미강, 왕겨, 톱밥을 305 kg 투입하였고 음식물은 운전기간동안 1,648 kg투입하였고 응축폐수는 1,600 L 발생되었다. 음식물 소멸기 운전 종료 후 배출된 발효 부산물은 386 kg으로 감량율은 약 80%로 조사되었다. 침지식 MF 중공사 분리막 모듈을 응축폐수의 MBR 시스템에 적용하여 유기물 처리한 결과 제거율은 각각 BOD 99.9%, COD 97.5%, SS 98.6%, T-N 54.6%, T-P 34.7%였으며, 총대장균은 100%가 제거되었다.

고도산화공정을 이용한 고농도 무전해 니켈도금 폐액 처리방안 연구 (A Study on the Highly Effective Treatment of Spent Electroless Nickel Plating Solution by an Advanced Oxidation Process)

  • 본 연구에서는 고농도 무전해 니켈도금 폐액을 처리하기 위한 고도산화공정 기술을 개발하였다. 추출, 농축 공정을 이용한 니켈 금속 회수보다는 폐수를 방류수 수준으로 처리할 수 있는 기술 개발을 위하여 차아인산염과 아인산염을 침전이 용이한 인산염으로 효과적으로 전환시킬 수 있는 공정 개발에 초점을 맞추었다. 광화학적 방법인 $UV/H_2O_2$ 방식을 채택하여 COD, $PO_4-P$ 변화 효율 및 과산화수소의 소모량을 분석함으로써 고농도 무전해 니켈도금 폐액의 고도산화처리 특성을 평가하였다. 특히, $UV/H_2O_2/O_3$ 방식으로 오존산화법을 추가함으로써 과산화수소 사용량을 30% 가량 절감하고 처리시간을 약 6 h 단축시킬 수 있었다.

Various kinds of waste water occurred to and swine wastewater experiment with "VSEP" set up conventional reverse osmosis membrane (ACM-4, ESPA, BW-30). The results were as followes : Treatment efficiency for the input COD(From $332mg/{\ell}$ to $4,968mg/{\ell}$) was 98%. Treatment efficiency for the input SS(From $140mg/{\ell}$ to $4,040mg/{\ell}$) was 100%(All together). Treatment efficiency for the input T-N(From $155mg/{\ell}$ to $934mg/{\ell}$) was 97%~99.8%. Treatment efficiency for the input T-P(From $28.6mg/{\ell}$ to $132mg/{\ell}$) was 99.7% and up. ESPA membrane excels three types of reverse osmosis membranes applied VSEP in removal efficiency.
