알카리 금속염으로부터 대전방지용 수분산 폴리우레탄 코팅용액 제조 (Preparation of Waterborne Polyurethane Coating Solutions with Antistatic Property from Alkali Metal Salts)

  • Poly (carbonate diol)과 isophrone diisocyanate 그리고 dimethylol propionic acid로 부터 NCO/OH 몰 비를 0.8, 1.1, 1.3으로 각각 조절하여 수분산 폴리우레탄(waterborne polyurethane dispersion, PUD)을 합성하였다. 이 용액에 알카리 금속염인 $LiClO_4$, $NaClO_4$, $KClO_4$를 첨가하여 대전방지용 수분산 폴리우레탄 코팅 용액을 제조하였다. 이 과정에서 첨가되는 알카리 금속염의 첨가량과 종류가 코팅 도막의 표면저항에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 알카리 금속염의 첨가량이 증가될수록 코팅 도막의 표면저항은 감소하였다. 그러나 PUD에 같은 양의 알카리 금속염이 첨가될 경우에는 $LiClO_4$ > $NaClO_4$ > $KClO_4$의 순서로 코팅 도막의 이온 전도도가 우수함을 알 수 있었다. 또한 PUD 내의 NCO/OH 몰 비가 증가함에 따라 코팅 도막의 표면저항이 증가하여 이온 전도도가 감소하였다.

순환골재의 성능향상을 위한 나노실리카졸의 코팅에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Nano Silica-Sol Coating for Improving Performance of Recycled Aggregate)

  • 본 논문은 기존 순환골재 생산공장에서 새로운 설비투자나 복잡한 처리공정을 거치지 않고 비교적 용이하게 순환골재의 품질을 개선할 수 있는 효과적인 코팅처리방법을 도출하고, 도출한 코팅처리방법으로 순환골재를 코팅처리하여 그 품질개선 효과를 확인하였다. 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 순환골재를 코팅하기 위하여 코팅처리용액중 하나인 실리케이트 용액을 경제성 있게 알맞은 농도로 희석하여 사용하였으며, 골재의 코팅방법을 달리하여 12가지 종류의 코팅골재에 대한 물성평가를 실시하였다. 또한 가장 좋은 물성을 나타낸 코팅골재를 사용하여 콘크리트를 제조하였다. 이상의 실험결과 골재를 코팅처리용액에 함침 및 건조를 반복하였을 때 골재의 품질이 가장 우수하게 나타났고, 다른 코팅방법 또한 물성이 코팅처리 전 골재보다는 향상되는 것으로 나타났으나, KS 기준에는 미치는 못하는 결과를 나타내었다. 또한, 가장 좋은 물성을 나타낸 골재를 가지고 콘크리트를 제조한 결과 설계기준강도를 만족시키는 압축강도가 측정되었으며, 설계기준강도 24MPa 이하의 도로시설물을 축조할 때 활용이 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

플랜트 부품용 상용 발수코팅의 고온 환경 고장 특성 비교 분석 (Failure Analysis of Commercial Water-Repellent Coatings for High Temperature Plant)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate failure characteristic and mechanism of four commercial water-repellent coatings for elevated temperature machinery applications. Method: Thermal degradation was performed for up to 64 thermal cycles. 1 cycle consists of 15 minute holding at 523K under 300rpm revolution and 15 minute-natural cooling. Contact angle was measured and microstructure of the coating layer was observed by using a scanning electron microscope. Results: Four kinds of commercial repellent coating showed hydrophobic or super-hydrophobic property implying that all coatings are suitable for room temperature application. Contact angle of three kinds of commercial coatings decreased rapidly after thermal exposure, while only one specimen having hydrophobic surface showed extremely slow degradation. Conclusion: Observed decrease in contact angle of the coatings were attributed to formation of macro-sized pores and disappearance of micro-protrusion during thermal exposure. Optimum water-repellent coating needs to be selected under the consideration of initial contact angle as sell as service temperature.

  • 기재위에 입혀진 코팅에서 발생하는 크랙킹 현상을 파괴역학을 이용해서 분석하였다. 코팅/기재 구조에서 굽힘모드시 발생하는 코팅크랙킹을 변분법을 이용하여 분석하였으며, 본 연구에서 유도된 변위에너지 방출량을 통해 기재위에 입혀진 코팅층에서 크랙이 확장되는 것을 예측할 수 있다. 본 연구를 통해 얻어진 코팅의 임계 변위에너지 방출량은 재료의 고유성질이며 코팅크랙킹의 보다 근본적인 의미를 제공할 수 있다.

  • Thin films and coating technologies are used for an enormous and diverse set of application including mechanical and automotive components. Many of these applications require the various properties which can be used for decreasing wear, friction and cost, and increasing the long life. The relationship between the load and the stress is usually nonlinear. The material is often apt to deform plastically under the low loads. Numerical method may be used for some simple problems of the coating. If the property of coating and base materials are inhomogeneous and the geometry is complex, the numerical method may be recommended. In this paper, the contact normal stress of the coating layer has been solved using finite element method.

  • The effect of coating time on surface properties of the TiN-coated high speed steel(SKH51) by arc ion plating is and presented in this paper. Surface roughness, micro-hardness, coated thickness, atomic distribution of TiN and adhesion strength are measured for various coating times. It has been shown that the coating time has a deep influence more than 60 minites on the micro-hardness, coated thickness, atomic distribution of Ti and adhesion strength of the SKH51 steels, but that the coating time has little influence on the surface roughness.

  • Nanosized $Gd_2O_3:Eu^{3+}$ red phosphor is prepared using a template method from metal salt impregnated into a crystalline cellulose and is dispersed using a bead mill wet process. The driving force of the surface coating between $Gd_2O_3:Eu^{3+}$ and mica is induced by the Coulomb force. The red phosphor nanosol is effectively coated on mica flakes by the electrostatic interaction between positively charged $Gd_2O_3:Eu^{3+}$ and negatively charged mica above pH 6. To prepare $Gd_2O_3:Eu^{3+}$-coated mica ($Gd_2O_3:Eu/mica$), the coating conditions are optimized, including the stirring temperature, pH, calcination temperature, and coating amount (wt%) of $Gd_2O_3:Eu^{3+}$. In spite of the low luminescence of the $Gd_2O_3:Eu/mica$, the luminescent property is recovered after calcination above $600^{\circ}C$ and is enhanced by increasing the $Gd_2O_3:Eu^{3+}$ coating amount. The $Gd_2O_3:Eu/mica$ is characterized using X-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy, zeta potential measurements, and fluorescence spectrometer analysis.

  • Metal coating on ceramic powder has long been attracting interest for various applications such as superconductor where the brittle nature of high temperature ceramic superconductor was complemented by silver coating and metalloceramics where mechanical property improvement was achieved via electroless plating. More recently it has become of great interest in embedded passive device applications since metal coating on ceramic particles may result in the enhancement of the dielectric properties of ceramic-polymer composite capacitors. In our study, nickel ion-containing solution was used for coating commercial capacitor-grade $BaTiO_3$ powder. After filtering process, the powder was dried and heat-treated in 5% forming gas at $900^{\circ}C$. XRD and TEM were utilized for the observation of crystallization behavior and morphology of the particles. It was found that the nickel coating characteristics were strongly dependent on the several parameters and processing variables, such as starting $BaTiO_3$ particle size, nickel source, solution chemistry, coating temperature and time. In this paper, the effects of these variables on the coating characteristics will be presented in some detail.

저온 연소합성 후 확산 열처리한 $Ni_{3}Al$ 금속간화합물 코팅층의 미끄럼 마모거동 (Analysis of Wear Properties for $Ni_{3}Al$ Layer coated on Ferrous Materials by Diffusion Treatment after Combustion Synthesis at low Temperature)

  • Coating brittle intermetallic compounds on metal can enlarge the range of their use. It is found that intermetallic compound coating layers made by only combustion synthesis in an electric furnace have porous multi-phase structures containing several intermediate phases, even though the coating layers show good wear resistance. In this study, dense $Ni_{3}Al$ single phase layer corresponding to the initial composition of the mixed powder is coated on two different ferrous materials by the diffusing treatment after combustion synthesis. After- ward, sliding wear behaviors of the coating layer are evaluated in comparison with that of the coating layer with porous multi-phase structure made by only combustion synthesis. As a result, the wear properties of the coating layer composed of dense $Ni_{3}Al$ single phase are considerably improved at the range of low sliding speed com- pared with that of the coating layer with porous multi-phase structure, particularly in the running-in wear region. This is attributed to the fact that wear of the coating layer is progressed by shearing as a sequence of adhesion, not by occurring of pitting on the worn surface due to having dense structure without pores.

Bending Behavior of Coated Yarns

  • Cotton yarns were coated with a polymer solution to hold surface fibers to the yam body, which caused fiber-fly generation during knitting process. The physical property of the coated yarn, especially a bending rigidity was investigated in order to evaluate the performance of the coated yam during knitting. SEM images showing the surface condition of the coated yarn demonstrated that the thickness of a coating material increased as the concentration of the coating solution increased. The results of the bending rigidity measured using KES-FB2 system showed that the bending rigidity of the coated yam increased as the concentration of the coating solution increased. The results also revealed the possibility that yarn coated with a low amount of coating material should be employed for further research of reducing fiber-fly generation during knitting process.
