The fretting wear characteristics of TiN coated Zircaloy-4 tube were investigated experimentally The fretting wear experiment was performed using TiN coated Zircaloy-4 tube as the fuel rod cladding material and uncoated Zircaloy-4 tube as one of grids. TiN coating is probably one of the most frequently and successfully used PVD coatings for the mitigation of fretting wear. In this study, TiN coating by PVD was employed for improvement of Zircaloy-4 tube fretting characteristics. The fretting tester was designed and manufactured for this experiment. TiN coated Zircaloy-4 tube was used as the moving specimen, uncoated ZircaBoy-4 tube as the stationary one. The number of cycles, slip amplitude and normal load were selected as main factors of fretting wear. The results of this research showed that the wear volume of TiN coated Zircaloy-4 tube increased as number of cycles, normal load and slip amplitude increase but the quantity of volume was lower than the case of uncoated Zircaloy-4 tube pairs.

The heat and mass transfer on two kinds of tube surfaces (bare stainless steel tube and Teflon coated tube) in steam-air mixture flow are experimentally studied to obtain design data for the heat exchanger of the latent heat recovery from flue gas. In the test section, 3-tubes are horizontally installed, and steam-air mixture is vertically flowed from the top to the bottom. The pitch between tubes is 67mm, the out-diameter of tube is 25.4mm, and the thickness is 1.2mm ; blockage factor (cross sectional tube area over the cross sectional area of the test section) is about 0.38. All of sensors and measurement systems (RTD, pressure sensor, flow-meter, relative humidity sensor, etc.) are calibrated with certificated standard sensors and the uncertainty for the heat transfer measurement is surveyed to have the uncertainty within 7%. As experimental results, overall heat transfer coefficient of the Teflon (FEP) coated tube is degraded about 20% compared to bare stainless tube. The degradation of overall heat transfer coefficient of Teflon coated tube comes from the additional heat transfer resistance due to Teflon coating. Its magnitude of heat transfer resistance is comparable to the in-tube heat transfer resistance. Nusselt and Sherwood numbers on Teflon (FEP) coated surface and bare stainless steel surface are discussed in detail with the contact angles of the condensate.
This paper presents an improved performance of heat transfer for shell-and-tube and thermal analysis based on the Bell-Delaware method for single tube. Heat transfer has been compared for a smooth tube, helical tube and surface-coated tube. In general, the results showed that properly designed helical tube and surface-coated tube offer a significant improvement in heat transfer. The numerical results derived from the Bell-Delaware method for the shell-side heat transfer coefficient were verified with experimental results. The thermal analysis aids significantly in the solution of the design problem.
Purpose: $TFB^{(R)}$ CA19-9 IRMA kit uses beads coated with CA19-9 antibody. However, this mathod can not use automated equipment, and requires a long time test. Recently, CA19-9 IRMA kit developed by $TFB^{(R)}$ is coated with CA19-9 antibody to the polystyrene test tube and reaction at room temperature, and also reduced test time. This study evaluated the performance of a newly developed $TFB^{(R)}$ CA19-9 IRMA kit. Materials and Methods: This study were measured by using 56 patients sample of Boramae Medical Center and Seoul National University Hospital. We evaluated intra-and inter-assay precision, recovery rate, linearity, sensitivity and high dose hook effect of coated tube CA19-9 IRMA kit developed by $TFB^{(R)}$. The values of CA19-9 measured by $TFB^{(R)}$ bead kit were compared with those measured by $TFB^{(R)}$ coated tube kit. Results: ntra-assay coefficients of variation on three different levels were 4.1%, 4.0% and 4.2%. Inter-assay coefficients of variation were 7.6%, 4.3% and 7.8%. Recovery tests on all three different levels showed within $100{\pm}10%$. Linearity was good and sensitivity was 0.3 U/mL. High dose hook effect is not observed. There was strong correlation between bead kit and coated tube kit by $TFB^{(R)}$ CA19-9 IRMA kit. (y=0.9185x-0.953, $R^2$=0.9779) Conclusion: Coated tube CA19-9 IRMA kit developed by $TFB^{(R)}$ showed satisfactory precision, recovery rate, linearity, sensitivity and high dose hook effect.

As a preliminary experiment for the development of anode-supported tubular cell with proper porosity, we have investigated the anode substrate and the electrolyte-coated anode tube. The anode substrate was manufactured as a function of carbon content in the range of 20 to 50 vol.%. As the caron content increased, the porosity of the anode substrate increased slightly and the carbon content with proper porosity was obtained at 30 vol.%. The anode tube was fabricated by extrusion process and the electrolyte layer was coated on the anode tube by slurry dipping process. The anode-supported tube was cofired successfully. Their sintered property and microstructure were examined and the porosity of the anode tube was 35%. From the gas permeation test, the anode tube was found to be porous enough for gas supply. On the other hand, the anode-supported tube with electrolyte layer indicated a very low gas permeation rate. This means that the coated electrolyte was dense. Based upon these experimental results. we will fabricate and test the anode-supported tubular cell.

Fretting of fuel rod cladding material, Zircaloy-4 Tube, in PWR nuclear power plants must be reduced and avoided. Nowadays the introduction of surface treatments or coatings is expected to bean ideal solution to fretting damage since fretting is closely related to wear, corrosion and fatigue. Therefore, in this study the fretting wear experiment was peformed using TiAIN coated Zircaloy-4 tube as the fuel rod cladding and uncoated Zircaioy-4 tube as one of grids, especially concentrating on the sliding component. Fretting wear resistance of TiAIN coated Zircaloy-4 tubes was improved compared with that of TiN coated tubes and uncoated tubes and the fretting wear mechanisms were delamination and plastic flow following by brittle fracture at lower slip amplitude but severe oxidation and spallation of oxidative layer at higher slip amplitude.
The high-temperature oxidation behavior of ZrSi2 used as a coating material for nuclear fuel cladding was investigated for developing accident-tolerant fuel cladding of light water reactors. Bulk ZrSi2 samples were prepared by spark plasma sintering. In situ X-ray diffraction was conducted in air at 900, 1000, and 1100 ℃ for 20 h. The microstructures of the samples before and after oxidation were examined by scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The results showed that the oxide layer of zirconium silicide exhibited a layer-by-layer structure of crystalline ZrO2 and amorphous SiO2, and the high-temperature oxidation resistance was superior to that of Zircaloy-4 owing to the SiO2 layer formed. ZrSi2 was coated on the Zircaloy-4 tube surface using laser 3D printing, and the coated tube was oxidized for 2000 s at 1200 ℃ under a vapor/argon mixture atmosphere. The outer surface of the coated tube was hardly oxidized (10-30 ㎛), while the inner surface of the uncoated tube was significantly oxidized to approximately 300 ㎛.
To develop anode-supported tubular cell with proper porosity, we have investigated the anode substrate and t the electrolyte-coated anode tube. The anode substrate was manufactured as a function of carbon content in the range of 20 to 50 vol.%. As the carbon COntent increased, the porosity of the anode substrate increased slightly and the carbon c content with proper porosity is found to be 30 vol.%. The anode-supported tube was fabricated by extrusion process a and the electrolyte layer was coated on the anode tube by slurry coating process. The anode-supported tube was cofired successfully at $^1400{\circ}C$ in air. The porosity of the anode tube was 35%. From the gas permeation test, the anode t tube was found to be porous enough for gas supply. On the other hand, the anode-supported tube with electrolyte layer indicated a very low gas permeation rate. This means that the coated electrolyte was dense.

The photocatalytic oxidation of Rhodamine B(RhB) was studied using photocatalytic reactor filled with module of quartz tube. Module of quartz tube consisted of small quartz tube (inner diameter, 1.5 mm; outer diameter, 3 mm) bundle coated with powder $TiO_2$ and uncoated large quartz tube (inner diameter, 20 mm; outer diameter, 22 mm). Two 30 W germicidal lamp was used as the light source and the reactor volume was 0.5 l. The effects of parameters such as the coating materials and numbers, initial concentration, $H_{2}O_2$ dose and metal deposition (Ag, Pt and Fe) and simultaneous application of $H_{2}O_2$ and metal deposition. The results showed that the initial reaction constant of quartz module coated with powder $TiO_2$ was higher 1.4 time than that of the $TiO_2$ sol and optimum coating number is twice. In order to increase reaction rate, simultaneous application of photocatalytic and photo-fenton reaction using Fe coating and dose $H_{2}O_2$ dose increased reaction rate largely.
