Portland cement pervious concrete has been expected to have good water permeability, mechanical properties and abrasion resistance at the same time when Portland cement pervious concrete is applied to the actual vehicle pavement. In this study, the coarse aggregate and cement were replaced by the fine aggregate and the silica fume to improve actual road performance Portland cement pervious concrete. The Mechanical properties, the water permeability and the abrasion resistance of Portland cement pervious concrete were investigated. The results show that the compressive strength, the flexural strength and the abrasion resistance are increased when the fine aggregate and the silica fume are added to Portland cement pervious concrete separately. However, the porosity and the water permeability are decreased simultaneously. With assistance of silica fume and fine aggregate simultaneously, Portland cement pervious concrete could achieve a higher strength. The compressive strength, the flexural strength and the abrasion resistance of Portland cement pervious concrete mixed with 5% fine aggregates and 8% silica fume are increased by 93.1%, 65% and 65.2%, respectively. The porosity and the water permeability are decreased by 22.4% and 85% when Portland cement pervious concrete is mixed with 5% fine aggregate and 8% silica fume. Therefore, the replacement ratio of the fine aggregates and the silica fume should be considered comprehensively and determined on the premise of ensuring the water permeability coefficient.

Various tests are performed with the recycled concrete including compressive strength, flexural strength, splitting tensile strength, bonding strength and chloride ion penetration test. The basic data obtained from the presented test could be accumulated for the purpose of utilization in concrete structure. Most of the strength tests show that strength decrease a little extent with increasing substitution ratio of recycled coarse aggregate except splitting tensile test for the concrete with $100\%$ recycled fine aggregate. But in case of the $50\%$ substitution of recycled coarse aggregate, compressive strength, flexural strength and bonding strength are almost equal to the normal concrete. Chloride ion penetration test shows that the penetration amounts of chloride ion becomes more in proportion to the substitution ratio of recycled aggregate. But most of the results show that the permeability of recycled concrete is proper to use. The results of present study nay imply that the use of recycled aggregate for steam curing concrete is possible but the substitution ratio of recycled aggregate should be determined through further studies.

Recently, it is increased on the concern for the reuse of waste concrete because of the shortage of natural aggregate and the increase of waste concrete. And recycled coarse aggregate is used variously, but the existing wet method producted recycled fine aggregate has problem like the high price facilities, the long time progress of the work and the poor of recycled fine aggregate. The aim of this study is to investigate outline and performance evaluation of the drying specific gravity separation method to product high duality recycled fine aggregate. Finally, this study is shown investigate process flowing of drying separation type with gravity manufacture, producte system and function of detail devices. The performance of the method of drying specific gravity separation is certificated as the qualities of recycled fine aggregate satisfied the KS

The pavement is generally used on the highways, local loads, roads for bicycle riding and neighborhood living facility such as parking lot, plaza, park and sports facilities. However, the pavement material that is usually used on the most of roads is impermeable asphalt-concrete and cement-concrete. If the pavement material is impermeable, many problems can be happened on the drainage facilities in the rainy season. Additionally, a lot of rainwater on the pavement surface cannot permeate to the underground and flows to the sewage ditch, stream and river, etc. If a lot of rainwater flows at once, the floods can be out along the streams and rivers. So, underground water can be exhausted. Micro organisms cannot live in the underground. Recently, many studies has been conducted to exploit the permeable concrete that has high performance permeability. However, it is required to develop the permeable concrete which has high strength and durability. In this study, permeable and strength tests were performed to investigate the permeable characteristics of porous concrete according to fine aggregate content and substitution ratio of blast furnace slag. In this test, crushed stones with 10~20 mm and sand with 5~10 mm were used as a coarse aggregate and a fine aggregate respectively. The substitution ratio of blast furnace slag to cement weight is 0 %, 15 %, and 30 %. The ratio of fine aggregate to total aggregate is 0 %, 18 %, and 35 %. As a result, permeability coefficient was decreased according to fine aggregate ratio of total aggregate. Compressive strength was also decreased according to substitution ratio of blast furnace slag.
Conductivity is an important thermal property which governs heat transfer in a solid medium. Generally, the determination of conductivity in concrete is very difficult, because concrete is a heterogeneous material composed of cement, water, aggregate, et cetera and time dependent material of which properties change with curing age. In this study, influencing factors on thermal conductivity of concrete are quantitatively investigated by QTM-D3, a conductivity tester developed in Japan. Then, a prediction equation of thermal conductivity of concrete is suggested from the regression analysis of test results. To consider the factors influencing thermal conductivity of concrete, mortar, and cement paste, seven testing variables (age, amount of cement, types of admixtures, amount of coarse aggregate, fine aggregate ratio, temperature, and humidity condition) of the specimens are used. According to the experimental results, the amount of coarse aggregate and humidity condition of specimen are the main factors affecting the conductivity of concrete. Meanwhile, the conductivity of mortar and cement paste is strongly affected by the amount of cement and types of admixtures. However, the curing age has minor effect on the conductivity variation. Finally, the prediction formula of concrete conductivity as a function of aggregate amount, fine aggregate ratio, specimen temperature, and humidity condition is developed.

As a manufacturing process of recycled aggregate improves the quality of recycled aggregate shall be sufficient enough to be used for structural concrete. This study characterized compressive strength and elastic modulus of concrete that used recycled coarse and fine aggregate. Before the strength tests, the fundamental characteristics of recycled aggregate were preliminarily analyzed and the recycled aggregate satisfied the class 1 requirements in KS F 2573. As the replacement ratio increased, the compressive strength and elastic modulus of recycled aggregate concrete decreased. When the coarse and fine aggregates were completely replaced with the recycled, the compressive strength and elastic modulus were decreased by 13% and 31%, respectively. Based on the test results, this study suggests equations for predicting the compressive strength and elastic modulus of the recycled aggregate concrete with respect to the replacement ratio. The values from the equations were in good agreement with the test data from this study and others.

Previous study on recycled aggregate(RA) has largely been limited to the manufacture of nonstructural-grade concrete due to undesirable physical properties of them such as, high water absorption leading to high water demand of concrete. The restriction seriously limits its market and consequently diminishes the use of RA as a construction material. This paper presents the mechanical properties of recycled concrete substituted by both waste foundry sand(WFS) and recycled coarse aggregate replaced with fine and coarse aggregate concurrently. The result shows that the compressive and tensile strength decrease with the increment of substitution ratio of RA and WFS while bending strength of RA concrete increase.
In recent years the field application of high performance concrete has been increased to improve the quality and reliability of concrete structures. The mix design of the high performance concrete includes the 2 set-off mixture theory of mortar and coarse aggregate and that of paste and aggregate. The 2 set-off mixture theory of mortar and coarse aggregate has a problem of having to determine its value through repeated experiments in applying the rheological characteristics of mortar. The 2 set-off mixture theory of paste and aggregate has never been applied to high performance concrete since it doesn't take into account the relationship between optimum fine aggregate ratio and unit volume of powder nor does it consider the critical aggregate volume ratio. As the mixture theory of these high performance concretes, unlike that of general concrete, focuses on flowability and charge-ability, it does not consider intensity features in mix design also, the unit quantity of the materials used is determined by trial and error method in the same way as general concrete. This study is designed to reduce the frequency of trial and error by accurately calculating the optimum fine aggregate ratio, which makes it possible to minimize the aperture of aggregate in use by introducing the maximum density theory to the mix design of high performance concrete. Also, it is intended to propose a simple and reasonable mix design for high performance concrete meeting the requirements for both intensity and flowability. The mix design proposed in this study may reduce trial and error and conveniently produce high performance concrete which has self-chargeability by using more than the minimum unit volume of powder and optimum fine aggregate with minimum porosity.

Generally, aggregate may limit the strength of concrete, and aggregate with undesirable properties including strength, shape and grading etc. cannot produce good concrete. Also, the properties of aggregate greatly affect the durability and structural performance of concrete. Recently, it has increased the using of crushed aggregate for concrete due to the exhaustion of good natural aggregate. In case of Korea, the using ratio of crushed stone occupies about 97% of whole coarse aggregate, and ratio of crushed sand occupies about 18.3% of whole fine aggregate. This is an experimental study to compare and analyze the properties of crushed sand for concrete in capital region and concrete according to the replacement ratio of crushed sand to do suitable mix design and improve the concrete quality. According to results, it was found that nearly all the properties of crushed sand satisfied with the value recommended by KS.

Aggregate occupies about 70 to 80 percent by volume in concrete as skeleton of concrete, but recently, it has been insufficient in quantity to collect good natural aggregate because of exhaustion of aggregate resources. In case of Korea, in 2002, the using ratio of crushed stone occupies about $97\%$ of whole coarse aggregate, and ratio of crushed sand occupies about $18.3\%$ of whole fine aggregate. This is an experimental study to compare and analyze the properties of concrete according to the grading of crushed stone to improve quality and mix design of concrete using crushed stone. According to results, it was found that grading level of crushed stone in the range of G42 to G60 was better than any other grading level in terms of fluidity and compressive strength. And it is considered to be in the range of 6.52 to 6.85 in terms of FM.
