화상 회의, 개인 인터넷 방송 등의 실시간 응용 시스템을 위해 오버레이 멀티캐스트 트리가 충족 시켜야 하는 조건은 크게 두 가지이다. 트리상의 노드의 차수가 적절한 상한이어야 하고, 멀티캐스트 트리의 지름, 즉 트리 상의 경로 거리로 볼 때 가장 먼 두 사용자 간의 거리가 작아야 한다는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 위의 두 조건을 고려한 실시간 방송 IPTV 방송서비스를 전송하는 시스템을 구성하고, 실시간 방송 서비스에 적합한 오버레이 멀티캐스트 트리를 구성하는 알고리즘을 제안하고자 한다. 이 알고리즘은 Cost값을 각 End-User들의 가용대역폭과 이웃 End-User들과의 Delay, 그리고 요구대역폭을 제안하는 Cost-Function에 적용한 후, M.S.T(Minimum Spanning Tree) 알고리즘을 활용하여 최적의 트리를 구성하게 된다.

The theoretical foundations of GA are the Schema Theorem and the Building Block Hypothesis. In the Meaning of these foundational concepts, simple genetic algorithm(SGA) allocate more trials to the schemata whose average fitness remains above average. Although SGA does well in many applications as an optimization method, still it does not guarantee the convergence of a global optimum. Therefore as an alternative scheme, there is a growing interest in a co-evolutionary system, where two populations constantly interact and co-evolve in contrast with traditional single population evolutionary algorithms. In this paper, we propose a new design method of an optimal fuzzy logic controller using co-evolutionary concept. In general, it is very difficult to find optimal fuzzy rules by experience when the input and/or output variables are going to increase. So we propose a co-evolutionary method finding optimal fuzzy rules. Our algorithm is that after constructing two population groups m de up of rule vase and its schema, by co-evolving these two populations, we find optimal fuzzy logic controller. By applying the proposed method to a path planning problem of autonomous mobile robots when moving objects exist, we show the validity of the proposed method.

Generally, in jack up rig design for harsh environment, its leg height is a major factor for achieving a sufficient serviceability & operability in terms of the worst environment and the workable depth. Due to difficulties in constructing such a high-slender leg, inaccessibility of yard fabrication equipment, etc. the construction of Jack up rig fur harsh deep sea has not been common. Method using heavy crawler crane, fabrication tower or extension by the floating crane vessel is still conventional construction but, considering high cost fur mobilizing heavy lift vessel (HLV) or additional marine work for implementing preload / full height test at sea, the ground-base construction is much advantageous. Air skidding method (ASM hereafter) is ground-based construction methodology, newly developed due to such requests. ASM could also be extended to similar engineering fields. This paper presents the operating sequence, design parameters and procedure which were verified through successful operation at the end of May 2002.

During the operation of a nuclear power plant (NPP), the generation of radioactive waste, including dry active waste (DAW), concentrates, spent resin, and filters, mandates the implementation of appropriate disposal methods to adhere to Korea's waste acceptance criteria (WAC). In this context, this study investigates the potential use of polymer concrete (PC) as a high-integrity container (HIC) material for solidifying and packaging these waste materials. PC is a versatile composite material comprising binding polymers, aggregates, and additives, known for its exceptional strength and chemical stability. A comprehensive analysis of PC's long-term integrity was conducted in this study. First, its compressive strength, which is crucial for ensuring the structural stability of HICs over extended periods, was evaluated. Subsequently, the resilience of PC was tested under various stress conditions, including biological, radiological, thermal, and chemical stressors. The findings of this study indicate that PC exhibits remarkable long-term properties, demonstrating exceptional stability even when subjected to diverse stressors. The results therefore underscore the potential viability of PC as a reliable material for constructing high-integrity containers, thus contributing to the safe and sustainable management of radioactive waste in NPPs.

Factorial designs with two-level factors represent the smallest factorial experiments. The system of notation and confounding and fractional factorial schemes developed for the $2^N$system are found in standard textbooks of experimental designs. Just as in the $2^N$ system, the general confounding and fractional factorial schemes are possible in $3^N,5^N$, .... , and $\rho^N$ where $\rho$ is a prime number. Hence, we have the $\rho^N$ system. In this article, the author proposes a new algorithm for constructing fractional factorial plans in the $\rho^N$ system.

WADGPS 또는 Beacon DGPS를 이용하여 해상준설선의 유도와 측량을 위한 실시간 준설관리시스템을 구축하고자 하였다. 이 시스템은 GPS에 의한 선박위치측정, GPS/Gyro 통합장비에 의한 선박방향측정, 그라브 위치측정, 준설심도측정 및 보정의 기능을 갖도록 하였다. 또한 구축된 준설공정관리시스템을 제어 운용하기 위한 프로그램을 개발하였다.

Engineering problems are inherently imprecision tolerant. Biologically inspired soft computing methods are emerging as ideal tools for constructing intelligent engineering systems which employ approximate reasoning and exhibit imprecision tolerance. They also offer built-in mechanisms for dealing with uncertainty. The fundamental issues associated with engineering applications of the emerging soft computing methods are discussed, with emphasis on neural networks. A formalism for neural network representation is presented and recent developments on adaptive modeling of neural networks, specifically nested adaptive neural networks for constitutive modeling are discussed.

For constructing an intelligent multimedia database system for medical diagnosis, we are focusing on two technological points. One is a retrieval algorithm of databases, and the other is a coding algorithm of multimedia contents. For the first, previously we proposed a front-end database preprocessor called“keyword-network”, and in this paper we present its extended model providing an intelligent logical AND searching function especially for medical differential diagnosis. For the second, we present examples of multimedia intellectual coding methods for cardiovascular examination records.

This paper deals with the development of benchmark systems based on the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) system. A novel procedure for constructing a dynamic equivalent system of the KEPCO system is proposed. By using such a system, various scenarios can be simulated and compared with the original system. The results of the simulation show the benefits of the proposed equivalent system and its validity is confirmed by applying it to the KEPCO system.

The symmetric dual filters are essential for the construction of biorthogonal multiresolution an analyses and wavelets. We propose an algorithm to seek for dual symmetric trigonometric filters $\tilde{m}_0$ for for the given symmetric trigonometric filter $m_0$ and illustrate our algorithm by examples.
