  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of foot orthotics on the overall comfort and muscle activity during running. The subjects were 10 members from the joggers' club which consisted of 2 women and 8 men. These individuals ran on the treadmill by 4.0m/s speed with and without the custom foot orthotics. The data concerning the overall comfort was collected by a questionairre that examined the overall comfort, heel cushioning, forefoot cushioning, medio-lateral control, arch height, heel cup fit, shoe heel width, forefoot width, and shoe length The MegaWin ver. 2.1(Mega Electronics lid, Ma. Finland) was used to gain electromyography signals of the muscle activity; Tibialis anterior, medial gastronemius, lateral gastronemius, vastus lateralis, vastus medialis, biceps femoris, and rectus femoris were measured. The results of the study were as follows. 1. During running the overall comfort was higher for the foot arthotic condition than the nonorthotic condition. Among the inquiries the overall comfort showed the biggest difference comparing the two conditions. and the shoe heel width showed the highest score for contort. 2 The muscle activity of the biceps femoris, and vastus lateralis in the stance period decreased. due to the foot orthotics. The muscle activity of the vastus medialis in the swing period also decreased and the muscle activity tibialis anterior in the stance and swing stance decreased as well During running, orthotics showed positive result in foot comfort. The foot comfort related to decreased stress, muscle activity, and foot arch strain. Overall comfort and the adequate decrease of muscle activity were associated with injury prevention and the best method to prevent injury semms to be the maintenance of foot comfort.

  • This study organized a Science Improvement Activity Program designed for the excellent students in science in 5th and 6th grades. After application the effect of the program on science process skills was analyzed. The Science Improvement Activity Program was applied to the experimental group as a club activity after school during the semester. The results of this study were as follows: First, the students participated in the Science Improvement Activity showed an increase in the science process skills compared with those who didn't. Second, it was found have improved in enhancing their science process elements of observation, measurement, data analysis, forming hypotheses, and controlling variables. It is expected that the development of activity programs and their active application should be done in order for schools to provide science education according to each student's capacity from various angles.

  • The purposes of this study were to develop the activity based STEAM education program and to investigate the effects of the developed program on students' interest in science learning. The program was applied to 7th grade science club. This study was planned to single group pre-post test design. Test tool was the questionnaire of interest on science learning. In the results of t-test, there was statistically significant difference on the pretest and posttest of interest in science learning. Also there was significant difference on attitude toward science, recognition and strategy on science learning that were subdomains of interest on science learning. The results indicated that activity-based STEAM education program was effective in improving students' interest in science learning. In future, studies should be conducted that examine the effect of STEAM program on creativity and problem-solving activity. Therefore studies on the effectiveness of activity-based STEAM education programs should be made continuously.

The social effects were set to creativity and self-esteem at the individual factor and community involvement and exchange at the social factor, this effects were tested by the method of participation in living culture activities. We used SPSS 22 to analyze this effects, factor analysis, analysis of variance, and logistic regression analysis were used. The results showed that participation in lecture programs increased the effects of community involvement and exchange at the social factor. Participation in the club activities showed a decrease in creativity, and further analysis of the club activities was necessary. Participation in cultural art events increases self-esteem. Participation in performances and exhibitions of cultural art events increased creativity. Through these analysis results, first, development of living cultural programs to improve the characteristics of local residents and community of village culture. Second, revitalization through support of various community club activity programs. Third, support for the formation of village cultural community through exchange and cooperation between local Culture and Art Activists and local residents. • Objectives: The purpose of the study was to examine the correlation between leisure activity recognition and campus life satisfaction of dental hygiene students in the Chungnam area. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 494 dental hygiene students at eight universities from January 11 to January 29, 2016. The questionnaire used a five point Likert scale to measure campus life satisfaction and perception towards leisure activities. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics of variables, independent t-test, one way ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficient analysis. Results: The mean for satisfaction with campus life and perception towards leisure activities were 3.15 and 3.73, respectively, wich were both higher than the average. The campus life satisfaction of facilities, study, life showed positive correlations with leisure activity recognition. Conclusions: Perception towards leisure activities was associated with satisfaction with campus life. These results suggest that university authorities should encourage students to use active leisure time such as by establishing leisure programs and club activities in order to improve students' awareness of leisure activities and encourage them to make the most of university life.

  • In an effort to obtain basic data of carbohydrate metabolism during spermiogenesis of the sexually-matured Jindo dog, the glycogen distribution in the testis was investigated by light and transmission electron microscopy. Periodic acid thiocarbohydrazide silver proteinate physical development(PA-TCH-SP-PD) staining method provided better results in the detection of glycogen granules from Sertoli cells and germ cells than the periodic acid schiff(PAS) staining method did. Pre-treatment of the tissue sections with ${\alpha}$-amylase elicited a significant decrease in PA-TCH-SP-PD stained granules, which suggested that the stained granules were of glycogen origin. High concentration of the glycogen granules were observed in the Sertoli cells, especially in its column, sheet-like processes, club-like processes, and tubular processes. The glycogen granules were unevenly distributed in some Sertoli cell columns. These results strongly indicated that the Sertoli cells of Jindo dogs showed vigorous activity of carbohydrate metabolism.
