백화점카드 이용자의 패션라이프스타일에 따른 의복구매행동 (Clothing Purchasing Behavior of Department Store Credit Card Users according to Fashion Lifestyle)

  • The purpose of this study was to classify the clothing purchasing behavior of department store credit card users according to fashion lifestyle. The questionnaire was administrated to 346 female department store credit card users aged over 20 living in Daegu, Frequency factor analysis, cluster analysis, one-way Analysis of Variance (ANA), MANOVA, Scheffe test, ${\chi}^2$-test and t-test were used for satistical analysis. The consumers' lifestyle was classified by fashion oriented, practical and self conspicuous. The results showed that the credit card users' clothing purchasing behavior was different according to the fashion lifestyle. The self conspicuous group showed the highest score in impulse buying.

노년기 의생활 실태 조사 (A Research on the Actual Condition of the Elderly Males and Females's Clothing Life)

  • The purpose of this research is to offer basic data for the elderly males and females's clothes design and pattern making through the questionnaires on the actual condition of their clothing life. The subject of research were 111 elderly males and 120 elderly females who aged between 60 and 79 in Pusan. The results are as follows: The elderly females take more interest in clothes and set a higher value on influence of clothes than males. The elderly males and females are extremely discontented with high price of store clothes. And most of them consider that store clothes are not suitable for their body, so it is necessary that dress shops to take a target for the aged. Princepally the elderly males do their shopping with their wives but the elderly females by themselves in a department store. When their purchasing clothes, the elderly males bear in mind 'size' but the elderly females 'design' in the highest priority. The elderly females have exacter idea of their size than males. But after buying their store clothes, most of the elderly males and females mend their clothes.

의류점포의 서비스품질이 지각된 전환장벽과 점포충성도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Fashion Store Service Quality on Perceived Switching Barriers and Store Loyalty)

  • This study attempts to understand perceived switching barriers of customers and fashion stores service quality as a core of store loyalty. Medium variations of switching barriers are interpersonal relationships, attractiveness of alternatives and switching costs. Date were collected from 485 subjects who finished their shopping with a self-administered questionnaire. The results were as follows: 1. Classified service quality of clothing stores into 4 ways: VMD of stores or atmosphere, store policy which are involved in store service, sales persons respond and sales persons conviction which are involved in sales service. 2. Service quality of fashion stores is related with switching barrier medium variations. 3. Service quality have an influence on switching barrier medium variations. Its mutual influences increase switching barriers and it gets to be related to the store loyalty. 4. Compared influences of variations to store loyalty between the H department store and the L department store which are research objects. The main difference is that the H department store evaluated personal relationships among service quality, customers and sales persons high compared with the L department store. As the results showed, service quality consists of store service of nonpersonal service area and sales service of personal service. Service quality is related with interpersonal relationships, attractiveness of alternatives and switching costs. It also affects switching barriers and store loyalty.

New Seniors' Information Sources, Store Selection Criteria, and Sales Associates' Attributes for Clothing: Based on Their Clothing Involvement

  • This study examines female new seniors' clothing consumption behaviors, such as their information sources, clothing store selection criteria, and perceived importance of sales associates' attributes, based on their level of clothing involvement. A face-to-face survey was conducted through a market research firm. The subjects of this study were female adults in their 50s and 60s residing in the Seoul metro area (N=197). Significant differences were found in the clothing consuming behaviors of new seniors depending on their clothing involvement(CI). High-CI new seniors tended to place more importance on both personal and non-personal information sources than low-CI new seniors. High-CI new seniors place importance both "merchandise assortment and store atmosphere" and "sales associates and service" when they select stores for clothing than low-CI new seniors. In terms of sales associates' attributes, high-CI new seniors tend to place more importance on customer-orientation than medium- and low-CI groups. Medium- and high-CI new seniors tend to place more importance on appearance than low-CI groups. However, there were no significant statistical differences for professional expertise among the three different CI groups.

  • The purposes of this study were to examine the effect of store satisfaction about fashion store and alternative store attraction on switching barrier perception and the moderating effect of variety seeking orientation. The questionnaire was administered to 450 women shopped in a department store in Gwan-ju during September, 12-26,2002. Data collected from 384 women were analyzed by using frequency, factor analysis, regression analysis, ANOVA and t-test by SPSS for WIN program. The result were as follows. First, the store satisfaction significantly influenced switching barrier perception. Second, the alternative store attraction significantly influenced switching barrier perception. Third, interaction effect between store satisfaction and variety seeking orientation was found out to be meaningful at switching barrier perception. Fourth, interaction effect between alternative store attraction and variety seeking orientation was found out to be meaningful at switching barrier perception.

소비자 몰입을 향상시키는 백화점 점포환경요인에 관한 연구 -백화점 간 비교를 중심으로- (A Study on Department Store Environmental Factors to Improve Consumer Commitment -Focusing on a Comparison of Department Stores-)

  • This study examines the effects of store environment on consumer commitment to department stores and the differences among department stores. A self-administered questionnaire was developed based on existing scales in the literature and the result of qualitative research. The survey was conducted on 500 female consumers in their 20s to 40s in Seoul, Incheon and Gyeonggi areas in Korea. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, factor analysis, ANOVA, and regression analysis via SPSS Win 16.0. The results were as follows: First, three department stores revealed statistically significant differences in the diversity of facilities, store atmosphere, locational convenience and policy. Second, affective commitment to department stores was affected by salesperson service, policy, diversity of facilities, product assortment, store atmosphere and locational convenience. Calculative commitment in department stores was affected by policy, diversity of facilities, store atmosphere and locational convenience. There were also significant differences on store environmental factors that influence affective commitment and calculative commitment among department stores.

이원적 인식에 따른 의류점포 서비스품질특성에 관한 연구 (Service Quality Characteristics based on Two Dimensional Recognition in Apparel Store)

  • The purposes of this study are to identify service quality elements using Kano's theory, and to examine differences in service quality characteristics among apparel store types. Women over 20 years-old from metropolitan areas in South Korea participated in the study and a quota sampling method was used. The questionnaire was composed of three sections; importance of quality, degree of satisfaction, and demographic factors. Data from 525 questionnaires were used for the statistical analysis. The results were as follows: First, four factors of service quality(sales person, variety of goods, policy, and facilities) were identified. According to Kano's quality elements, sales person was categorized into both one-dimensional quality and must-be quality, and variety of goods, policy, and facilities categorized into attractive quality. Second, sales person, in all store types, was included in one-dimension quality elements and sales person and variety of goods, in local store, were included in attractive quality element. Service policy, in chain store and local store, was included in attractive quality element. Findings of this study provide both industry and academic researchers with a guide to increase customer satisfaction in the store service strategies.

의류점포 유형에 따른 서비스품질과 점포만족도 (Service Quality and Store Satisfaction according to Apparel Store Types)

  • The main objective of this study were to develop the scale for measuring service quality and to identify the differences of service quality among apparel store types(department store, fashion specialty store and national brand independent store). Data were collected from 463 subjects who finished their shopping with a self-administered questionnaire. The results were as follows; 1. As a result of factor analysis, seven dimensions were identified for service quality: VMD, store atmosphere, pleasant enviornment, product assortment, store policy, salesperson's assurance, and salesperson's responsiveness dimensions. The first five dimensions and the last two dimensions were corresponded to store service and sales service respectively. Those dimensions explained 56.56% of service quality. Especially the salesperson's assurance had the most explaining power. 2. The fashion specially store was evaluated as the highest in five dimensions of store service, whereas the department store was evaluated as the lowest in the pleasant environment dimension. 3. Store policy, salesperson's assurance, store atmosphere, and VMD dimensions explained 38% of store satisfaction.

인터넷 매장과 오프라인 매장에서의 소비자 의복 쇼핑 성향 차이에 관한 연구 (The Difference of Clothing Shopping Orientation in Internet and Offline Stores)

  • The study is interested in the consumer's mixed choice of the internet and the offline stores. Therefore the purpose of study is to investigate if the clothing shopping orientation of consumers varies when they shop internet and offline, instead of classifying consumers into internet shoppers and offline shoppers. For the purpose, quantitative survey was carried out using 201 questionnaires from men and women in their twenties. The data were analyzed using factor analysis, Pearson's correlation analysis, Spearman's rank order correlation coefficient, t-test, and frequency analysis. The results are as following. First, the clothing shopping orientation structures of offline and internet stores were different each other. As the result of factor analysis, positive, brand oriented, economic, convenient conformity, convenient impulsive factors were extracted from offline store and rational, enjoying, goal oriented, conformity, brand oriented, convenient impulsive purchase factors were extracted from internet store respectively. Second, as the results of investigating the relationship between the clothing shopping orientation structures of offline and internet stores, positive(off)-enjoying(on), brand oriented(off)-brand oriented(on), convenient conformity(off)-conformity(on) had strong correlation s and the rest were peculiar to the each store type. Specifically, the goal oriented factor peculiar to the internet store was noticeable. Third, as the results of investigating the differences between clothing shopping orientation of offline and internet stores, the ranks of strong orientation dimension were different between two channels. As well, the mean differences were significant in goal oriented, conformity, brand oriented, and convenient impulsive purchase dimensions. This study has the significance that it investigated the variance of clothing shopping orientation according to the mixed selection trend of internet/offline.
