So this study compares and analyzes the merchandising process of textile clothing also it of fur clothing by merchandising steps. Fur clothing has so many change factors at time of purchase by scarcity of raw material, price fluctuation, exchange rate and others. Therefore it is primarily about securing of raw material. As soon as plan of product is finished, the purchase of fur raw material has to be started while progress of design products for commercializing the fur clothing. The design of fur clothing is consist of material design, color design and shape design. And It makes a new trend & market as we are developing new & various treatments. The some of imported materials are transferred to the factory for being treated first dressing, fabric treatments and dyeing processing according to the design. The first treated materials are transferred to the sewing factory again for secondary treatments and finally inspected and shipped. During secondary treatments the fur has gone through various manufacturing process for using like fabric materials and it takes long time because almost work is running manually. Unlike fabric clothing, fur clothing's manufacturing method is complicated and various from material process to shape process as per feature. Therefore the merchandising with fur cannot make mass production also needs detail craftsmanship depending by expert's skills. On this wise the fur clothing takes long time to the completion thus it has been risky and costly.

This paper is to analyze the effect of demographic factors on children' wear buying pattern, media and information utilization, and design preference. A total of 355 usable data was collected from house wives in three metropolitan cities(Seoul, Daejon, Bundang) in Korea. Correlation analysis showed that there were statistically significant correlation between demographic factors and clothing buying behavior, information utilization, and design preference. Also, Regression results showed that 8 Demographic Factors are significant predictors. The results with ANOVA showed that there were significant relationships between PURCHASE OCCASION and DISPLAY INFORMATION UTILIZATION, and showed that there were significant relationships (F=28.625, p=<.001) between PURCHASE MOTIVATION and SALES PERSON ADVICES UTILIZATION. Thus, both visuality and friendliness of service were affected by consumers. The purposes of this article are segmenting consumers by brand attachment motives and discovering the differences among the segmented groups in relation to clothing involvement and clothing behavior (ready-to-wear satisfaction, brand loyalty, purchased items, and purchased places). The subjects of this study were male and female consumers, who were residents in Seoul, Korea. The data had been collected during May, 2007, and statistical analyses used for the study were factor analysis, cluster analysis, t-test, and chi-square test. The results showed that brand attachment motive is composed of two factors: brand personality/individuality expression and conformity/status improvement. Based on cluster analysis, there were two brand attachment motive groups: individuality expression and status improvement segments. T-test showed that brand attachment motive segments were significantly different in terms of clothing involvement and clothing behavior (ready-to-wear satisfaction, brand loyalty and purchased items). For example, the individuality expression group was more interested in clothing, was more satisfied with ready-to-wear clothing, had higher brand loyalty, and usually purchased casual wear. Meanwhile, the status improvement group had a higher perceived risk in clothing involvement, was less satisfied with ready-to-wear clothing, had a lower degree of brand loyalty, and preferred to purchase formal wear. The results implied that brand attachment motive is an important variable in market segmentation, in which specific marketing strategies should be implemented for each targeted consumers.
The purpose of this study is to analysis men's measurement and index to provide the fundamental information for he clothing design which can reflect the characteristic of their bodies The items of study were composed 34 items in measurement and 3 1items in index. An anthropometric database used for this study was the 1992 national anthropometric survey of Koreans. The range of sample was 1,059 men from 25 to 55 years old. The results obtained are as follows. 1) Men showed statue to waist height was 5 to 3, statue to trochanter height was 2 to 9 and waist height to torso was 5 to 2.1. 2) We have obtained 8 factors from the result of factor analysis in index. 3) As the result of cluster analysis about somatotype, men were types tow which were contrary to each other. And as the result of t-test between type 1 and type 2, upper body (factor 5), at factors(factor2, 6), and body proportion (factor 4) were intent to each other. Therefore type 1 was peculiar about the factors of 2, 5, 6, and type 2 was about factor.
The aim of this study is to find out the way the future curriculum of clothing and textile studies should be composed. For this purpose, this study examines the perception of students as consumer of university teaching. For students, who are studying in the department of clothing and textiles, have academic and practical interest in this area. But they also anticipate the demand of clothing and textile market in the future in which they will work. The sample of survey research was 607 students of 20 universities. First, this study asked the students what are important areas of study at present. Majority of student answered that clothing construction and fashion design are the most important ares of clothing and textile studies. This perception of the students seems to reflect the fact that most university departments have placed importance on such subjects. Secondly, students think that fashion marketing and fashion have placed importance on such subjects . Secondly , students think that fashion marketing and fashion design should be emphasised in the future. This finding is consistent with the current trend in the fashion industry which has gone beyond simple clothing construction to fashion design and marketing which yield higher profit than clothing construction. Although there are many other factors which should be considered in the composition of future curriculum, this study shows that fashion marketing and design should be at the core of university teaching in department of clothing and textile studies.

This study compares the benefits for online clothing purchases between Korean and U.S. consumers. A total of 464 usable questionnaires were obtained from respondents who resided in Korea (n=253) and the United States (n=21l). Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, factor analysis, and MANOVA. For online clothing purchases, the benefit consisted of five factors: product attribute, transaction services, security, country of origin, and brand symbolism. Results showed that the main effect of nationality and gender on the benefit factors were significant; there was an effect of nationality on product attributes, transaction services, and country of origin. Compared with Korean consumer, U.S. consumers were more likely to consider the benefits of product attributes, transaction services, and country of origin for clothing in online purchases. In addition, there was a gender difference in benefit factors of product attributes, transaction services, country of origin, and brand symbolism. Females were more likely than males to consider the benefits for clothing in online purchases. An interaction effect of nationality and gender was not significant in online purchases for clothing. This study was intended to identify the constructing factors and the evaluative dimensions of clothing images. A questionnaire consisted of 110 words expressing clothing images was developed, and eight clothing photographs were selected as stimuli. 298 female subjects aged between 22 to 37 responsed to the 110 words for two photographs during September in 1991. After survey, 110 words were reduced to 62 words based on their independence, then factor analysis was conducted. As a result of factor analysis,6 factors-grace, modernity, unattractive- ness, activeness, dressiness, and youthfulness were found out as constructing factors of clothing images. One additional interest was the effect of design line to the formation of clothing images. ANOVA identified that curved line designs were perceived to be more graceful, modern, dressy, and youthful, and straight line designs were perceived to be more unattractive and active. The other interest was the effect of image factors to the total evaluation. So, regression was used. Consequently, the most influential factor to the total evaluation was found out as grace, followed by unattractiveness, modernity, youthfulness and activeness in a descending order. To identify the evaluative dimensions of clothing images, nine words of unattractiveness image factor were eliminated, and multidimensional scaling analysis was employed. Here, three dimensions were judged to be appropriate to explain the result. The first dimension in the multidimensional space was the evaluation in 'mannish image versus feminine image'. The second was the evaluation in 'simple image versus decorative image'. The third was the evaluation in 'pastoral image versus urbane image'.
This study analyzed the buying patterns of American and Korean female college students in terms of criteria for clothing selection; store preferences; criteria for store selection; fashion information sources; expressions of customer dissatisfaction; purchasing frequency and motivations for purchasing clothes. The study was implemented through self-administered questionnaires which were back translated for validity. The samples consisted of 730 female college students majoring in the fields related to clothing and textiles: 310 U.S. and 412 Korean students. Likert scales were used for most measures with 1=never or very unimportant and 5=always or very important. Data were analyzed by factor analysis, analysis of covariance, Duncans multiple comparison, and t-test. Results are as follows: 1) Design factor was the most important criteria in clothing selection with no differences between country groups. There were, however, significant differences for psychological exhibition factors, practical and economic factors. 2) Both groups preferred specialty and department stores, with department stores more popular in Korea. 3) Merchandise was the most important store selection criterion and fashion magazines and self-experience were rated as the most important information sources for the both groups. 4) Korean group expressed their dissatisfaction with and observable problem with a product before purchase more often than U.S. group, but the U.S. group was more vocal about color loss or shrinkage after care procedures. 5) Some clear differences between the two countries emerged. Marketers targeting American consumers should pay more attention to practicality and service; to Korean consumers more symbolic meaning of products.
