연직배수재가 설치된 정규압밀 점성토 지반의 점진적 압밀이 차후 압밀거동에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Progressive Consolidation on Consolidation Behavior of Normally Consolidated Clayey Soil with Vertical Drains)

  • 본 연구에서는 배수면으로부터의 거리에 따라 점진적으로 진행되는 압밀이 차후의 압밀 거동에 미치는 영향에 대하여 고찰하였다. 이를 위해 압밀진행에 따른 위치 별 투수계수 및 부피압축계수의 변화를 고려할 수 있는 유한차분 압밀해석기법 및 프로그램을 개발하였다. 개발된 해석 프로그램을 이용하여 간극비 변화에 따른 투수계수와 부피압축 켸수의 변화 정도가 다른 다양한 특성의 지반에 대하여 연직배수재가 설치된 모형지반의 압밀거동을 분석하였다. 또한 실제 지반조건에서의 영향 정도를 살펴보기 위하여, 낙동강 하구의 정규압밀 점성토 및 재성형 카올리나이트의 지반 특성을 근간으로 입력치를 결정, 해석을 수행하여 위치 별 점진적 압밀에 의한 영향을 분석하였다. 해석 결과 점진적 압밀 진행에 따른 압밀 지체가 현장의 압밀 거동 이해에 매우 중요하며, 또한 압밀 초기에, 소성성이 크고, 재하하중이 클수록 현저하게 나타남을 알 수 있었다.

습답(濕畓)에서의 투수속도조절(透水速度調節)이 화학성분(化學成分) 및 벼생육(生育)에 미치는 영향(影響) (Effect of Percolation Rate on Soil Chemical Properties and Rice Growth in Poorly Drained Soil)

  • 습답개량(濕畓改良)에 관(關)한 기초자료(基礎資料)를 얻기 위(爲)하여 사양토(砂壤土)와 식양토(埴壤土)에 투수속도(透水速度)를 달리한 조건(條件)에서 규회석(珪灰石) 및 생고등(生藁等) 개량제(改良劑) 시용시(施用時) 벼의 생육(生育)과 수량(收量)에 미치는 영향(影響)을 밝히기 위(爲)하여 pot 시험(試驗)을 실시(實施)한 결과(結果)를 요약(要約)하면 다음과 같다. 1. 벼 수량(收量)은 사양토(砂壤土)와 식양토(埴壤土) 두 토양(土壤) 공(共)히 투수속도(透水速度)가 클수록 많았으며 그 효과(效果)는 식양토(埴壤土)가 사양토(砂壤土)에 비(比)하여 더욱 컸다. 2. 토양용액중(土壤溶液中)의 환원생성물(還元生成物)은 투수속도(透水速度)에 따라 초기(初期)에 높았으나 생육후기(生育後期)에 많이 제거(除去)되었다. 3. 식물체중(植物體中)의 질소(窒素), 인산(燐酸), 가리등(加里等)은 투수속도(透水速度)의 증가(增加)에 따라 낮아지지만 규산(珪酸)은 오히려 높아졌다. 4. 투수속도(透水速度)가 빠를수록 수확기(收穫期) 뿌리의 양(量)도 많고 근권(根圈)이 지하(地下) 깊이까지 확장(擴張)되었다.

장기압밀시험에 의한 광양항 점성토의 응력이력 특성 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Stress History of Kwang-Yang Port Clayey Soil Based on the Long-term Consolidation Test)

  • 본 연구에서는 재성형한 광양항 점성토를 이용하여 응력이력과 OCR이 연약 점성토의 장기압밀특성에 미치는 영향을 규명하기 위해 표준압밀시험기를 개조하여 장기압밀 시험을 수행하였다. 과압밀상태의 점토 시료에 대해, OCR이 1.5를 초과한 경우, 이차압밀 및 최종침하량은 OCR이 2.0에서 3.0으로 증가함에도 큰 차이를 보이지 않았으며, 이로부터 이차압밀과 최종침하량을 저감하기 위해 현장적용 OCR은 1.5로 나타났다. 더욱이 선행하중 재하기간과 장기압밀 거동 특성사이의 관계를 알아보기 위해 광양항 재성형 점토를 이용한 실험결과로부터 압밀도 70~80%를 초과하여 재하하중을 제거하여도 장기압밀에 미치는 영향은 크지 않은 것으로 나타났다.

Micro X-ray CT 촬영을 통한 세립 점성토의 간극비 추정 방법 연구 (Study on a methodology for estimation of void ratio of very fine clayey soil by using micro X-ray CT scan)

  • In this study, a new methodology by using the X-ray CT scan is proposed for estimating void ratio of very fine clayey soil. Since the particle size of the clay is too fine to calculate the volume of void inside the clays, CT scanning tests with a number of clay specimens that were artificially set to have various designated void ratios have been carried out. From the tests, a relationship between the CT values and void ratios is given to be used for estimating the invisible void ratio of very fine clay from a representative CT value scanned. The linear relationship was able to be acquired finally. It is expected that micro X-ray CT scanning can be capable of capturing the void ratio of very fine soils without any errors inherent in the conventional specific gravity tests.

  • In this study a series of tests(bench scale test) are carried out for increasing in strength of clayey soil by EK-Injection method. In addition, the effects of strength increase in the treated sample are measured by operating the vane shear test device during 25 days at 5 days intervals in order to estimate the effect of ground improvement caused by diffusion. The test results show that the strength increase was developed approximately double to 7 times in comparison to initial shear strength, and outstanding strength increase was created as much as 7 times while injecting the sodium silicate and phosphoric acid in anolyte and catholyte. In addition, the measured shear strength with the influence of diffusion and reduction of water-content had a tendency to converge in constant value in proportion to elapsed time. As a result of this study, strength increment developed by the influence of EK-Injection and diffusion rather than the reduction of water-content were high as 1000% on average

  • Adhesion in geotechnical engineering is the interaction between cohesive soil and a solid surface which can cause clogging in mechanized tunnelling through clayey formations. Normal piston pull out and modified direct shear tests were performed on clayey soil samples to determine which type of adhesion stress, normal or tangential, could be most effectively measured. Measured values for normal adhesion ranged from 0.9 to 18 kPa. The range of tangential adhesion was 2.4 to 10 kPa. The results indicate normal adhesion results were more accurate than those for the modified direct shear test that measure tangential adhesion. Direct shear test on identical samples did not show any correlation between measured cohesion and normal adhesion values. Normal adhesion values have shown significantly meaningful variation with consistency index and so are compatible with the base of field clogging assessment criteria. But tangential adhesion and cohesion were not compatible with these assessment criteria.

  • This study was to analyze characteristics of soils reinforced by FPF(Fibrillated Polypropylene Fiber). Laboratory test, model test and field tests were performed on soils reinforced by fibers, to evaluate the shear strength characteristics. For the silty sand, clayey sand and silty clay, the influence of fiber shape, fiber length and fiber content were evaluated from compaction test, direct shear test, uniaxial test, california bearing ratio(CBR) test. Fibrillated type fiber, 5cm long with a content of 0.5% shows 5∼30% increase of friction angle and 7∼55 percent increase of CBR value.

폐 광산 지역 중금속 오염 토양의 석회안정화 적용 시 용출특성 (A Leaching Characteristics on Lime Stabilization of Heavy Metal Contaminated Soil in a Waste Mine Area)

  • Pozzolanic-based stabilization/solidification (S/S) is an effective and economic remediation technology to immobilize heavy metals in contaminated soils. In this study, quick lime (CaO) was used to immobilize cadmium and zinc present in waste mine contaminated clayey sand soils. Addition of 5% quicklime to the contaminated soils effectively reduced heavy metal leachability after 2 bed volume operation below the drinking water regulatory limits. Lime addition was revealed to increase the immobilization for all heavy metals in tested pH ranges, so it could be an optimal choice for short-term remediation of heavy metal contaminated soil. The mass balances for these column tests show metal reduction of 92% for Cd and 87% for Zn of total resolved mass in case of 5% lime application.

  • In the applying of the reinforced soil method, it would be possible to obtain reinforcement effect more than before in terms of economic if high water content clayey soils could be used as embanking material. Futhermore it would be possible to expect the expansion of the applying field of reinforced soil method too. In this study, the authors describe the analysis results on the behavior of 5 meter high walls reinforced with nonwoven geotextile having the permeability and woven geotextile or geogrid having large tensile strength on the soil ground. The behavior of the walls were investigated for about 100 days after construction and the deformations of reinforcements, lateral soil pressures, vertical and horizontal displacements of the walls were examined by automatical measuring system. It was found that this kinds of reinforcing system might effectively improve the performance of the steep walls by virtue of the reciprocal action between soil and reinforcements, and it might be concluded that construction of the clayey reinforced soil walls with three kinds of geotextiles could be done successfully even on the comparative weak ground.

  • Recently, the calculation of horizontal bearing capacity of piles foundation has been considered very important for earthquake or wind resistant design in Korea. This study deals with the lateral resistance of PHC pile instead of vertical capacity for earthquake resistant design as well as wind. As case study, the prediction values were compared with measured ones based on ASTM. During this research, Matlock & Reese, Davisson & Gill, Broms and Chang's methods were selected in calculating prediction of lateral resistance of PHC piles. In decomposed granite and clayey soils, The result showed that prediction values proposed by Matlock & Reese(Davisson & Gill), Chang and Broms were smaller values than real values. four proposed methods by Matlock & Reese(Davisson & Gill) and Chang based on lateral deflection and Broms by ultimate lateral resistance turned out valid in view of engineering practice.
