점토층 지반에 설치 가능한 8MW급 해상풍력발전기 하부구조물 개발 (Development of Foundation Structure for 8MW Offshore Wind Turbine on Soft Clay Layer)

  • 신재생에너지 신규설비 보급이 매년 꾸준히 증가하고 있으며, 그중 개발 확장성이 풍부하고 생산유발계수가 큰 해상풍력 시장이 급성장하고 있다. 특히 서남해 권역은 최고 수준의 해상풍력 잠재량을 보유하고 있으며, 관련 프로젝트들이 추진 중이다. 본 연구는 점토층 지반에 효과적인 해상풍력 하부구조물의 개발에 있어 EUROCODE에 의한 구조물의 설계 절차를 제시하고 구조 안전성을 고찰하여 관련 기술 분야에 이바지함을 목표로 한다. 선행연구에서는 풍력발전기 용량이 5MW급을 주요 대상으로 하였으나, 서남해 해상풍력발전기 시장의 기술 추세에 부합하는 발전 용량 8MW급을 연구 모델로 선정하였다. 이에 본 연구에서는 서남해 지질 조건에 부합하는 하부구조물을 개발하고, 구조 안전성을 유한요소법을 활용하여 검증하였다. 초기 설계안에서 일부 구간을 보강하여 구조 안전성을 확보하였다. 본 연구 결과를 기반으로 하여, 향후 다양한 형태의 하부구조물에 대한 구조 안전성 평가가 가능하며, 전문화된 구조 설계 및 평가 기준을 확립하였다.

동적 원심모형실험에 의한 점성토 지반에 근입된 말뚝지지 기초의 응답 스펙트럼 분석 (Assessment of Response Spectrum by Dynamic Centrifuge Test for the Pile Foundation into the Clay)

  • 현재 국내 내진설계기준에서 제시하고 있는 지반분류 방법 및 지반 증폭계수는 기반암이 주로 30m 이내에 위치하는 일반적인 국내 지반특성을 제대로 반영하지 못하고 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 점성토 지반에 근입된 비정형 말뚝기초(PHC 500, 중심 간격 3D)에 대한 동적 원심모형 실험을 실시하여 자유장과 기초판의 응답 스펙트럼 결과를 비교하였다. 장주기 영역에서는 SE 지반의 설계 스펙트럼 가속도보다 기초와 자유장에서 계측된 실제 스펙트럼 가속도가 작게 나타났고, 기초에서 발생한 스펙트럼 가속도는 지진 하중이 커지면 SD 지반의 설계 스펙트럼 가속도와 유사해지는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이것은 연약한 지반(SE 지반)에 대한 현행 설계기준이 지진 하중을 과대평가하고 있으며 비경제적 설계를 할 수 있음을 의미한다. 1.5초 이상의 장주기 영역에서는 실험에서 측정된 스펙트럼 가속도가 SC 지반의 표준설계응답스펙트럼 가속도보다 작게 나타났고 기초 및 자유장 조건에 의한 스펙트럼 가속도 차이가 거의 발생하지 않았다. 따라서, 실제 아파트에 해당하는 1.5초 이상의 장주기에서는 국내 지반조건을 고려하여 실험에서 측정된 스펙트럼 가속도를 설계에 적용하면 표준설계스펙트럼을 적용할 때 보다 경제적인 설계가 가능한 것으로 나타났다.

토목기유(土木機維)로 보강(補強)된 연약지반(軟弱地盤)의 압밀(壓密) 및 Creep 거동(擧動)에 관한 연구(研究) (A Study on the Consolidation and Creep Behaviors of Soft Foundations Reinforced by Geotextiles)

  • 방조제(防潮堤)와 같은 토공구조물(土工構造物)을 연약 지반위에 건설(建設)할 때에 두꺼운 퇴적층(堆積層)의 해성(海成) 실트질 점토(粘土)로 이루어진 기초지반(基礎地盤)은 압밀(壓密)과 Creep으로 변형(變形)이 발생한다. 연약지반(軟弱地盤) 위에 축조(築造)된 토공구조물(土工構造物)의 안정화(安定化)를 위하여 보통 매트리스를 사용하게 되며 이는 제체(堤體)의 하중(荷重)을 분산(分散)시킴으로 인하여 극한지지력(極限地支力)을 증가(增加)시키는 중요한 역할(役割)을 하게 된다. 본 연구(硏究)에서는 토공구조물(土工構造物)의 장기적인 변형(變形)을 합리적(合理的)으로 예측(豫測)하여 방조제(防潮堤) 설계(設計) 및 사후관리(事後管理)에 기여(寄與)하고자 한다. 따라서 실험(實驗)에 의하여 해성점토(海成粘土)의 유변학적(流變學的) 모델을 결정(決定)하고 선정(選定)된 모델에 맞는 기존 프로그램인 압밀과 Creep이 각각 해석 가능한 S/W를 두 가지가 동시에 해석가능한 S/W로 수정하여 장기(長期) 응력(應力)-변형거동(變形擧動)을 구명(究明)하였다. 연구결과(硏究結果) 내용(內容)을 요약(要約)하면 다음과 같다. 1. 개발(開發)한 프로그램은 압밀(壓密)과 Creep을 동시에 해석(解析)할 수 있다. 2. Creep 시험 결과(結果), Rheology 모델은 Vyalov 모델로 나타났다. 3. 연약지반(軟弱地盤)이 보강(補強)된 경우는 비보강(非補強) 경우 보다 압밀(壓密) 및 Creep 변위(變位)가 작게 나타나 토목 섬유의 효과(效果)가 어느 정도 있음을 알 수 있었다.

Analytical solutions for geosynthetic tube resting on rigid foundation

  • Geosynthetic tubes inflated with water, clay slurry or sand have been widely used for large dike construction in land reclamation projects. In this paper, analytical solutions for geosynthetic tube resting on rigid foundation is presented by adopting an approach similar to that presented by Leshchinsky et al. (1996). The proposed method allows a quick preliminary design to be made for using a closed-form solution. To simplify the analysis, relationships between geometrical parameters and pumping pressure are established using numerical method. The analytical solutions were compared with several existing solutions and good agreements were achieved.

Performance of novel dynamic installed anchors during installation and monotonic pullout

  • This paper examines the results from three-dimensional dynamic finite element analysis undertaken to develop a new dynamically installed anchor (DIA). Several candidate shapes of new DIAs were selected after an investigation into previous researches of existing DIA designs. The performances of selected DIAs during the installation and loading in non-homogeneous clay were investigated through large deformation finite element (LDFE) analyses. Findings were compared to the current anchors in operation (i.e., Torpedo and Omni-Max DIA) to assess the viability of the new designs in the field. Overall, the anchor embedment depths of the novel DIAs lied under the results of OMNI-Max DIA. And also, the tracked anchor trajectory confirmed that, the novel DIAs dove deeper with stiffer travelling angle, compared to the OMNI-Max DIA. These elements are more critical and beneficial especially in a field where the achieved embedment depths are generally low.

A two-dimensional hyperbolic spring model for mat foundation in clays subjected to vertical load

  • This study proposes a two-dimensional hyperbolic soil spring model for mat foundations in clays subjected to vertically uniform loads to simplify the complexity of three-dimensional finite element analysis on mat foundations. The solutions from three-dimensional finite element analysis were examined to determine the hyperbolic model parameters of the soil springs underneath the slab. Utilizing these model parameters, normalized functions across the middle section of the mat were obtained. The solutions from the proposed model, along with the approximate finite difference analysis of the mat in clays under vertical load, were found to be consistent with those from the three-dimensional finite element analysis. The authors conclude that the proposed method can serve as an alternative for the preliminary design of mat foundations.

수평재하시험을 이용한 철도교 기초의 P-y 곡선에 관한 연구 (Back-Calculated P-y curves from Lateral Load Tests for Railway Bridge Foundation)

  • A significantly larger lateral load and moment are applied on a high speed railway bridge foundation than other bridge foundations. Therefore most of bridge foundations on Honam high speed railway project were designed by high strength steel pipe piles to resist lateral load and moment, which caused the increase of construction costs. In order to perform optimum design, it is important to estimate accurate lateral resistance when designing this type of structure. Lateral load tests were carried out based on the field design data with the purpose of examining the lateral behavioral characteristics of a railway bridge foundation. The standard load test method(ASTM D 3966) was used for field tests by applying twice of design load. Total four load tests were performed on high speed railway bridge foundations with strain gages installed by every 1m along piles to measure load-resistance characteristics under applied lateral loads. The back-calculated P-y curves from strain gages were compared with estimated P-y curves using theoretical methods based on geotechnical investment data. Back-calculated P-y curves from field tests for sand and clay ground conditions were presented in this paper, which are different from theoretical P-y curves. By using the research results of this study, more accurate estimations of pile design under lateral loads can be available for similar geotechnical conditions.

Analysis of load-settlement behaviour of shallow foundations in saturated clays based on CPT and DPT tests

  • Static Penetration Test (CPT) and Dynamic Penetration Test (DPT) are commonly used in-situ tests in a routine geotechnical investigation. Besides their use for qualitative investigation (lithology, homogeneity and spatial variability), they are used as practical tools of geotechnical characterization (resistance to the penetration, soil rigidity) and modern foundation design as well. The paper aims at presenting the results of an extensive research work on the evaluation of the 1D primary consolidation settlement of saturated clayey soils on the basis of the CPT or DPT tests. The work is based on an analysis of the correlations between the tip resistance to penetration measured in these tests and the parameters of compressibility measured by the compressibility oedometer test, through a local geotechnical database in the northern Algeria. Such an analysis led to the proposal of two methods of calculation of the settlement, one based on the CPT test and the other one on the DPT. The comparison between the predicted settlements and those computed on the basis of the oedometer test showed a good agreement which demonstrate the possbility to use the CPT and DPT tests as reliable tools of computation of foundation settlements in clayey soils.

연약지반상에 축조된 호안의 측방유동에 따른 안벽말뚝의 변위 (Displacement of Quaywall Pile by Lateral Movement of Revetment on Soft Ground)

  • Recently, the lateral displacement of the passive piles which installed under the revetment on soft ground is very important during the land reclamation work along the coastal line. The revetment on the soft clay develops the lateral displacement of the ground when the revetment loading is exceeded a certain limit. The lateral displacement of ground causes an excessive deformation of under structure itself and develops lateral earth pressure against the pile foundation as well. Especially passive piles subjected to lateral earth pressures are likely to have excessive horizontal displacement and large bending moment, which induces structural failure of pile foundation and harmful effects on superstructure. The subject of study is to investigate the later displacement of pile foundation during the construction of container terminal at the south port of Incheon. Actual field measurement data and finite element method(FEM) by AFFIMEX Ver 3.4 were used to analyze the displacement of pile and the vertical settlement of soft ground. This analysis was carried out at each sequence of construction work.

  • Piled raft foundation is a geotechnical composite construction to support the superstructure by pile-soil-raft interaction. General conventional design for piled raft doesn't consider the contribution of a raft. This is very conservative and requires more piles to satisfy the factor of safety. It is important to evaluate the load sharing features of piled raft. In this research, this characteristics of piled raft evaluated using both centrifuge and numerical modelings. The ultimate bearing capacity of piled raft foundation was also evaluated and predicted through comparisons of ultimate bearing capacity of single pile (SP), unpiled raft (UR), freestanding pile group (FPG) and piled raft (PR). $\xi_{pr}$ and $\eta$ were determined by centrifuge model tests to simply evaluate the ultimate bearing capacity of piled raft and bearing capacity of piled raft was predicted using the calibrated numerical model based on the centrifuge tests and laboratory tests data.
