With the issuance of the ICH “Guidance for industry S7A Safety Pharmacology Studies For Human Pharmaceuticals” in July 2001 came the preference for the use of unanesthetized animals when evaluation the safety profile of new pharmaceutical agents. Telemetry provides a means of obtaining measurements of physiological functions in conscious animals without the problems associated with classical cardiovascular measuring methods. The Korea Institute of Toxicology (KIT) established the telemetric measurement of cardiovascular parameters, such as Blood pressure, Heart rate, ECG (PR, RR, QRS, QT and QTcB interval) under GLP conditions. Using a combination of nonlocal Eringen as well as classical beam theories, this research explores the thermal buckling of a bidirectional functionally graded nanobeam. The formulations of the presented problem are acquired by means on conserved energy as well as nonlocal theory. The results are obtained via generalized differential quadrature method (GDQM). The mechanical properties of the generated material vary in both axial and lateral directions, two-dimensional functionally graded material (2D-FGM). In nanostructures, porosity gaps are seen as a flaw. Finally, the information gained is used to the creation of small-scale sensors, providing an outstanding overview of nanostructure production history.

This paper proposes a systematic approach for an accurate control of the Terfenol-D actuator taking into account hysteresis, modeled by applying the classical Preisach operator with memory curve. A desired input displacement is calculated by using the hysteresis inverter, which is fed into the actuator. Then the PI compensator corrects the error between the commanded and actual displacements. Experiments with the step responses show that the PI controller settles in 70 ms and the hybrid controller in 20 ms. It means that the concurrent application of two control schemes is effective to control the actuator.

What is the semantic function of visual image in Contemporary art? This article proposes that representation is semantically still important in post-modernism as well as in modernism. The semantic function of representation has been changed by keeping pace with times. In modernism the 'outer representation' changed to 'inner representation', and in postmodernism the 'inner representation' changed to 'metaphorical representation'. The 'outer representation' means that image indicates a certain object or subject as the classical realism. In this case, the meaning of image is subordinate to an object, and a one-to-one correspond existed between the image and the object. Because this 'outer representation' is focused on an object but subject's intention, the indicative function of meaning is definite and singular. The 'inner representation' means that image exposes the fundamentals or process of an object. In this case, the meaning of image resolves itself into an absolute fundamental, and one-to-many correspond existed between the image and the object. Because this 'inner representation' is focused on essence and substance but an external form, the indicative function of meaning is inclusive and general. The 'metaphorical representation' means that image critically relates social constraint and condition as metaphor and allegory. In this case, the meaning of image is not subordinate to an object and a subject, and the image and the object indicate interactively. Because this 'metaphorical representation' is focused on interaction between subject, object, and interpreter, the indicative function of meaning is differant and ecological. This article focused on the representation because I believe that continuous thinking of totality can be opened by cognitive mapping, even though we never understand the world totally in the chaotic post modern age.

In this study, a new formula of settlement at the head of IGM was suggested and the applicability of suggested formula was verified with field test results. This suggested formula was the function of the settlement at the shaft head and the elastic compression of shaft. The applicability of suggested formula was verified with the result of in-situ load test. Also, the bearing capacity of drilled shaft with the IGM's theory was compared with those of classical theories. The results showed that classical method showed smaller values of bearing capacity than those of field load test data. The results of analysis also showed that the suggested formula and IGM's theory were applicable for the estimation of bearing capacity with the increase of shaft settlement. Especially, settlement correction factor($k_m$), which reflects ground condition and load transfer characteristics, increases as the applying load and shaft deformation increase. This suggested formula was applicable for medium density or higher density of soil condition and $k_m=1$ means yielding load for firm soil condition.

This paper proposes the modified image contrast enhancement technique for small-sized display of mobile handset. Sample images are user interface images, in which scaled up wVGA($800{\times}480$) from qVGA($320{\times}240$) that we can see easily in mobile handset. The display size of mobile handset is relatively small, so the goal of this paper is to simplify image contrast enhancement algorithm based on conventional HE (Histogram Equalization) algorithm and improve computational effectiveness to minimize power consumption in real hardware IC. In this paper, we adopt HE technique, which is classical and widely used for image contrast enhancement. At first, the input frame image is partitioned to temporal sub-frames and then analyzes gray level histogram of each sub-frame. In case that the analyzed histogram of some sub-frames deviates so much from reference level (it means that the sub-frame image components consist of too bright ones or dark ones), apply DHE(Dynamic Histogram Equalization) algorithm. In the other case, apply classical Histogram Linearization (or Global HE) algorithm. Also we compare the HE technique with gamma LUT (Look-Up Table) method, which is known as the simplest technique to enhance image contrast.

The development of digital technology constructs meaning through the narrative by digitalized story. Including mobile whole aspect movie, visual contents have the narrative structure and signification based on the digital technology. This study planned to explore the possibility that mobile movie can expand the classical narrative structure and bring up the method of signification. For this purpose, this paper proved the process to cohere narrative through redundancy and a double across of space-time structure according to the principle of causality in mobile movies such as and . According to the findings, mobile movies appeared to construct a consolidated structure through cohesion of meaning and to move the space-time doubly across at a subjective point of view of the characters for continuity of story. Such a result means the narrative structure and the method of signification of mobile movie are modifying or expanding the unique formation of classical films in accordance with mobile devices as digital media.

In this research, the main theme is the system integration of driving simulator and unmanned vehicle. The total system is composed of the mater system and the slave system. The master system has a cockpit system and the driving simulator. The slave system means an unmanned vehicle, which is composed of the actuator system the sensory system and the vision system. The communication system is composed of RS-232C serial communication system which combines the master system with the slave system. To integrate both systems, the signal classification and system characteristics considered DSP(Digital Signal Processing) filter is designed with signal sampling and measurement theory. In addition, to simulate the motion of tele-operated unmanned vehicle on the driving simulator, the classical washout algorithm is applied to this filter, because the unmanned vehicle does not have a limited working space, while the driving simulator has a narrow working space and it is difficult to cover all the motion of the unmanned vehicle. Because the classical washout algorithm has a defect of fixed high pass later, fuzzy logic is applied to reimburse it through an adaptive filter and scale factor for realistic motion generation on the driving simulator.

Miss Ki, the heroine of (취유부벽정기) is the image on which Hong-saeng's mind is projected. And the mind of Hong-saeng(홍생) is the allegory of Kim, si-seop's(김시습) mind to king Dan-jong. So I think the mind of Ki who thinks patriotism is more important than her life is the allegory of Kim si-seop's patriotic sentiment to king Dan-jong. And I think the sorrow of Hong-saeng for the ruins of Ko-choseon(고조선) means sorrow of Kim, si-seop's(김시습) for the death of Dan-jong's. They felt sorrowful because values that they considered as absolute ones were damaged. However, everything in the world are fatally changed. Although people think the most important thing they think now is never changed, after long time they cannot but see all is changed. At last people realize the thing seemed most important will disappear in vain. So the writer of (취유부벽정기) made a image of Miss Ki who is a nymph of moon and was the princess of Ko-choseon to awaken Hong-saeng. He intended to change hong-saeng's mind to king Dan-jong with the change of Miss Ki's mind to her father. But the writer knew the fact that though Hong-saeng changed his mind, he could not become happy. So he wanted to transcend the real world, but he can't. After all he expressed his wants in fantastic lunar world.

This paper investigates the layers of conflicts and the methods of presenting conflicts in Gyechugilgi written by court ladies in the middle of the Choseon Dynasty. The authors deal with court ladies' conflicts and trials with great seriousness. This means that they did not regard these struggles as problems derived from conflicts between King Kwanghae and Queen dowager Inmok. Gyechugilgi represents conflicts by quoting conversations, showing characters meditating conflicts, and describing episodes. Consequently the authors recognized the conflicts in this text as human problems that result from personal desires rather than political problems, and the literary characteristics of this text can be found in this point. This study ascertains the characteristics of Gyechugilgi from various viewpoints.
