To investigate the relationship of skeletal maturity among the normal occlusion group and each malocclusion groups, the author used hand and wrist X-ray of 133 Korean 13 year old boys (normal occlusion 30, Class I malocclusion 35, Class II malocclusion 35 and Class III malocclusion 33) and assessed their skeletal maturity. In this study, fourteen skeletal maturity stages were selected from; Radius, Hamate, Pisiform, Ulnar sesamoid of the metacarpophalangeal joint of the first thumb, proximal phalanges of the first, second and third finger, middle and distal phalanx of the third finger. The difference of skeletal maturity of each malocclusion groups in relative to normal occlusion group and that of each malocclusion groups were analyzed. The findings of this study can be summerized as follows: 1. Average skeletal maturity stage of each groups were MP3cap stage in normal occlusion group, H-2 stage in Class I malocclusion group, midstage between S and H-2 stage in Class II malocclusion group, MP3cap stage in Class III malocclusion group. 2. There was no significant difference in skeletal maturity of Class I malocclusion and Class III malocclusion groups in relative to normal occlusion group. 3. There was significant retardation of skeletal maturity in Class II malocclusion group in relative to normal occlusion group. 4. There was no significant difference in skeletal maturity between Class I and Class II malocclusion groups. 5. There was no significant difference in skeletal maturity between Class I and Class III malocclusion groups. 6. There was significant retardation of skeletal maturity in Class II malocclusion group in relative to Class III malocclusion group.
The purpose of this study was to compare mandibular teeth development of Angle Class I malocclusion group with that of Angle Class III malocclusion group. The studied subjects consisted of 217 Angle Class I malocclusion patients and 235 Angle Class III malocclusion patients. Two study methods were used. One was to evaluate tooth development degree by means of Nolla stage method, the others was to measure tooth length on panoramic radiograph. The following results were obtained, in 7, 8 and 9 years, tooth development of Angle Class III malocclusion group was significantly faster than that of Angle Class I malocclusion group. in 6 year and 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 years, the difference of tooth development degree between Angle Class III malocclusion group was not significant.
The Purpose of this study was to investigate the differences in soft tissue characteristics according to the dental or skeletal dysplasia. For this purpose, lateral cephalogram of 153 children (Hellman dental age IIIB: control group 32, Angle CIII. div. 1 malocclusion group 55, Angle Cl III group 66) were traced and measured. For these measurements, following conclusions were made. 1. FH A, FH Sn, FH UL, AA' of the Class III group were thicker than those of the normal and Class II group, but FH B, FH LL, BB' of the Class III group were not significantly different from those of the normal group. 2. FH B, FH LL, BB' of the Class II group were thicker than those of the normal and Class III group, but FH A, FH Sn, FH UL, AA' of the Class II group were not significantly different from those of the noraml group. 3. Ans-Sn, FH P were not significantly different in three groups, while PP' of the Class III group was thicker than those of the other groups. 4. The lower lips of the Class II group were more anterioly everted with respect to the lower incisor inclination than those of the other groups. 5. The severity of skeletal dysplasia was partly camouflaged by the soft tissue.
This study was undertaken to find out oropharyngeal movement of the class III malocclusion patients during swallowing by using the cinefluoroscopic method. The experimental group was composed of fifteen male adults with class III malocclusion whose mean age was 24.4 yrs. The control group was composed of fifteen male adults with normal occlusion whose mean age was 24.8 yrs. The results were as follows: 1. The horizontal position of the tongue tip was more anterior in the class III malocclusion group than in the normal group through all stages. 2. The tongue level was lower in the class III malocclusion group than in the normal group during stage 1, stage 3, and stage 4. 3. The horizontal position of the hyoid bone was more anterior in the class III malocclusion group than in the normal group during stage 1 only. 4. The tip of the soft palate was lower in the class III malocclusion group than in the normal group during stage 1 only, and there was no significant difference in the velar movement between the class III malocclusion group and the normal group during swallowing. 5. There was a significant difference in the interincisal distance, but no significant difference in the intermolar distance between the class III malocclusion group and the normal group through all stages. 6. Among 4 stages of each group, there was a significant difference in the movements of the dorsum of the tongue, the hyoid bone, and the soft palates And there was a significant difference in the movement .of the tongue tip of the normal group, but no significant difference in the movement of the tongue tip of the class III malocclusion group.
The research objective was to identify the effect of various instruction media on improving students' foodservice management competencies and for increasing class satisfaction. The research involved a comparison of two student groups. One group consisted of students who attended a lecture-based food purchasing class (Group A). The other group was students who attended the same class, and who also used various media as well as receiving the lecture (Group B). The results were as follows: 1) After a 16 week program, Group B perceived their procurement management competencies to be higher than those of Group A, especially in setting up purchasing goals, marketing research, and using computer systems for procurement; 2) In terms of class satisfaction, it was also observed that Group B was more satisfied with food purchasing class than was Group A. Group B gave high scores, especially in effective utilization of media, increasing motivation, and understanding; 3) Group B perceived that various instruction media was helpful for developing their procurement management competencies. Respondents evaluated the usefulness of media in the following order: using Power Point watching videos, visiting web-sites for food purchasing class, and surfing the World Wide Web. The results of the research show that using various instruction media for food purchasing classes would improve students' foodservice management competencies. Therefore, instructors who teach foodservice management related courses should consider developing teaching strategies that apply various instruction media for students to enhance their foodservice management competencies and to increase class satisfaction.
Being in Learning-accomplishing rate on mutual cooperation studies of small group by different class, we can find that the sujective class of high group is much more efficient than the compared class of high group and that the subjective class of low group is more efficient than the compared class of low group as times goes. Moreover, in analysis of all directions on mathematical attitude, high group appears to be a great efficient in all areas such as confidence, flexibility, reaction, value, etc. and low group seems to have a little effect, by comparing the subjective class with the compared class. A. The result of a scholastic ability test High group had a great effect in the result of the first (Number and an expression) and second(An equation of a figure) scholastic ability test. As the time of research goes, the difference of average between the subjective class and the compared class has increased. Low group had no effect in the result of the first (Number and an expression) and the second (An equation of figure) scholastic ability test. But the difference of average grade between the subjective class and the compared class proved to be some efficient as time goes. (the first test is 0.94 and the second test is 3.33)We can find that the result of the third test (An exponent and log function) turned out be efficient. B. The change of mathematical attitudeHigh group had a great effect in confidence(+1.21), fiexibility(+1.92), will(-0.06), curiosity(+2.64), reaction(+1.50), value(+1.44). Low group appeared to be a little efficient in comparison between the subjective class and compared class. the average of both the subjective class and the compared class in low group decreased if not the result of pre-test but in that of pose-test. Therefore, we can find that the difference between mathematics of maddle school and that of high school gets bigger in Low group.C. The result of a question examinationAfter this research, the reaction that It is helpful to studying accomplishm- ent is 33.7%, the reaction that It is not helpful is 14.7%. After all, this research appears to be a positive reaction. After this study, the change of studying will seems to be much more not in Low group but in High group.
This study was designed to analyse vertical dysplasia such as open bite or deep bite in persons with skeletal Class III malocclusion. The subjects consisted of 60 control patients, 40 Class III open bite patients and 40 Class III deep bite patients. The mean age was 19.8 years in the control group, 17.8 years in the Class III open bite group and 16.5 years in the Class III deep bite group. The results were as follows: 1. In Class III malocclusion patients, the characteristics of the vertical dysplasia are under the palatal plane. 2. In Class III malocclusion patients, the items showing the characteristics of the vertical dysplasia are mandibular plane angle, lower gonial angle, lower facial height, dental height & inclination of the upper first molar, interincisal angle, maxillary & mandibular occlusal plane angle. 3. In Class III malocclusion patients, LPFH/LAFH ratio shows the highest significance among the facial height ratios. 4. In Class III malocclusion patients, open bite group has a upward cant of maxillary occlusal plane & downward cant of mandibular occlusal plane. And deep bite group has a downward cant of maxillary occlusal plane & upward cant of mandibular occlusal plane. 5. In Class III malocclusion patients, the molar teeth of the open bite group are measially inclined and those of the deep bite group are upright.
For the purpose of investigating mesiodistal axial inclination of posterior teeth in normal occlusion group, open bite and deep bite group and investigating the correlationship between the axial inclination of posterior teeth and overbite of anterior teeth, a cephalometric study was performed on the subjects consisted of normal occlusion group(40), open bite group(71 : Angle's Class I, Class II, division 1 25, Class III 25) and deep bite group(64 : Angle's Class I 23, Class II, division 1 21, Class III 20). Mesiodistal axial inclination of posterior teeth to occlusal, mandibular and palatal plane were measured. The findings of this study were as follows : 1. Upper and lower posterior teeth were more mesially inclined to occlusal plane in open bite group than in deep bite group. 2. Lower posterior teeth were more mesially inclined in deep bite group than in open bite group in Angle's Class II, division 1 malocclusion but there were no significant differences in Angle's Class I and Class III malocclusion. 3. There was no significant correlationship between the axial inclination of posterior teeth to each plane and overbite of anterior teeth in open bite group. 4. There was a significant correlationship between the axial inclination of upeer and lower second premolar to occlusal plane and overbite of anterior teeth in Angle's Class I, Class II, division 1 and Class III malocclusion.
