  • In this paper, a new coupled inductor DC-DC converter with a high step-up voltage gain is proposed. It is developed from a clamp-mode coupled-inductor boost converter by incorporating an additional capacitor and diode. The proposed converter is able to achieve the higher voltage gain, while still retaining the switch voltage clamp property of its predecessor. In the paper, operation and analysis of the proposed converter are described. Experimental results from a prototype converter are presented to verify the validity of the analysis. The prototype circuit attains the highest efficiency of 92.8%.

  • Until now, the clamp yoke of automobile has been largely manufactured by hot forging or burring process. Through the study, the precision cold forging process for clamp yoke has been analysed by using rigid-plastic finite element analysis code, DEFORM-3D. It has shown various results of the FEM simulation. An engineer should select the proper process considering the amount of product.

  • A zero voltage soft switching inverter using active clamp is presented for induction heating application. This converter have long been attractive because of its simplicity, high efficiency, and low cost compared to other schemes. In addition to those merits, Input power factor can be improved with a variable frequency control. In this paper, it describe the control method and operational principle to improve a power factor with a single stage US converter using active clamp for induction heating application.

  • Due to the enormous progress achieved in light emitting diodes (LEDs) LEDs have been become a good solution for lightings. In LED driver for lighting applications, it is required high input voltage to drive more LEDs. Therefore, high-voltage should be changed to low-voltage to supply power for drive IC. In this paper, LED drive IC using voltage clamp bias circuit, it use a hysteretic-buck converter topology was proposed and verified through experiments.

  • Active clamp forward converter provides zero voltage switching, low voltage stress and wide input voltage range. The design technique leads to getting a higher efficiency under high switching frequency and optimal operating range. It is designed for notebook computer adapter with free input voltage and 19.5V/120W output ratings. The efficiency is measured to more than 90%. One of the most important circuit parts is the filter inductor besides the transformer in active clamp forward converter. In this paper, the process of inductor design is listed optimally.

  • The zero voltage and zero current switching(ZVZCS) full bridge (FB) PWM converter using secondary active clamp is characterized by high efficiency, good ZVZCS characteristic, simple topology and low cost. But at the period for discharge of the secondary clamp capacitor, peak pulses and ringing pulse occur in rectified secondary side of the converter. In this paper, a novel secondary active clamp circuit for the ZVZCS FB PWM converter is proposed and a 50 kHz, 500 W prototype converter was experimented for verification of the converter characteristics. It was verified that high voltage peak pulses and ringing pulse on secondary rectified waveforms of the converter are decreased effectively.

  • The MOSFET synchronous rectification in the Active-Clamp Forward converter is presented. The Active-Clamp Forward converter has little dead time during the off time of the main switch and it is suitable for the MOSFET synchronous rectification comparing to the other Forward converter topologics. Using the MOSFET synchronous rectification on the Active-Clamp Forward converter with 3.3[V] output and 500[kHz] switching frequency, the improvement of efficiency is achieved comparing with the conventional Schottky barrier diode rectification.
