과학적 논문의 기초가 되는 과학 데이터들은 국가 차원에서 체계적으로 관리가 되지 않아 원활하게 유통 및 재활용이 되지 않고 있으며 논문 원문과 데이터들이 서로 연계, 통합되지 않아서 과학 데이터의 유통이 더욱 어려워지고 있다. 이 연구에서는 유통 측면에서 과학 논문과 데이터를 비교하고 연계, 통합을 위한 영구식별자의 도입 및 제도적 측면에서 데이터 기탁 및 데이터 리파지토리의 활성화 방안에 대해 논의한다.

개별논문 평가를 위해 제안된 altmetric가 주목받고 있다. altmetrics에서는 개별 논문의 트윗의 건수를 평가요소 중 하나로 활용한다. 그러나 여러가지 목적으로 작성된 트윗을 단일하게 처리하는 것은 문제가 있다. 본 논문은 과학 논문에 달린 트윗들을 분석하여 기능의 범주를 정의하고 분류체계를 제시하였으며, 기존의 논문의 인용기능 분류 실험을 실시하여 그 결과와 비교 분석을 수행하였다. 향후 도출한 트윗 기능 분류에 대한 개선과 추가적인 연구를 수행할 계획이다.

The citation analysis is not applied to group measurements but to individual papers finding their impact factors among citation chains which are created by tracing citing-cited relationship between any two papers in data set. The individual impact factor is measured by adding each value derived from citation chain. Each paper's impact factor index is calculated by adding the values of each index by direct citing-cited relationship, and the values of each impact factor made by indirectly influencing to the papers in the citation chain. The research introduces a grace period, in which the system holds the papers not cited by other papers yet, but are expected to be cited within this period. Eventually not cited papers after the grace period would be eliminated by the system. The experiment suggests a reasonable database in which the highly influenced papers are gathered, and could be serviced in stead of buying databases filled with worthless not-cited-papers.

A new technique for revealing the research fronts of a interdisciplinary discipline has been developed. Citation image makers profiling (CIMP) determines the relationships between research papers with the title words of the citing documents. We adapted this new technique to analyze the research fronts and hot topics in women's studies of Korea. By Korean Citation Index (KCI) data in 2015, we selected 148 papers cited more than 9 times as the core documents of women's studies. Analysis of intellectual structure using citation image makers profiling was performed with the 148 core documents and those citing papers. Document co-citation analysis was hindered by citation data sparsity, while CIMP method successfully revealed the structure of research fronts of Korean women's studies including 2 divisions and 6 subdivisions. The CIMP method suggested in this study has good potential to discover the characteristics of research fronts of interdisciplinary research domains.

The purpose of this study was to Identify the similarities and differences between the hyperlinking practice of scholarly e-journal authors and conventional citing practice. 230 scholarly e-journal articles containing at least two hyperlinks and their authors were selected as the sample for the study. A mail questionnaire survey of the authors of the sampled e-journal articles was conducted (with a response rate of $70\%$) to collect quantitative data on the authors' hyperlinking motivations. In addition, a content analysis of the e-journal articles and the source documents hyperlinked in the articles was conducted to examine the patterns of hyperlinks. A comparison between the quantitative results of this hyperlinking study and previous citation studies was made. The results revealed not only some similarities but also several significant differences between them.

There have been little comprehensive research for studying impact of foreign journals on Korean scientists. The main reason for this is because there was no extensive citation index database of domestic journals for analysis. Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI) built the Korea Science Citation Database (KSCD), and have provided Korea Science Citation Index (KSCI) and Korea Journal Citation Reports (KJCR) services. In this article, citing behavior of Korean scientists on foreign journals was examined by using KSCD that covers Korean core journals. This research covers (1) analysis of foreign document types cited, (2) analysis of citation counts of foreign journals by subject and the ratio of citing different disciplines, (3) analysis of language and country of foreign documents cited, (4) analysis of publishers of journals and whether or not journals are listed on global citation index services and (5) analysis for current situation of subscribing to foreign electronic journals in Korea. The results of this research would be useful for establishing strategies for licensing foreign electronic journals and for information services. From this research, immediacy citation rate (average 1.46%), peak-time (average 3.9 years) and half-life (average 8 years) of cited foreign journals were identified. It was also found that Korean scientistis tend to cite journals covered in SCI(E) or SCOPUS, and 90% of cited foreign journals have been licensed by institutions in Korea.

In the face of globalization and other recent developments, flagship universities in developing countries must deal with significant challenges to come up with new strategies to serve their respective countries better. They have to confront the issue of international university ranking and its implication on social relevance. They have to remain at the forefront of research as research universities and must lead in promoting internationalization of higher education. More importantly, flagship universities must engage actively in industry-academe-government collaboration as a necessary approach towards strengthening their nations’ innovation systems. This paper is at best conceptual and takes a cursory look at the role of flagship universities in developing countries, citing the case of the University of the Philippines and its strategy towards fulfilling its role as the country’s only national university.

The issue of adjuncts has long been a neglected field of linguistic study whether it be syntactic or semantic. It is only in Pustejovsky (1995) that we find a brief mention of adjuncts. In addition to what the author calls true arguments, default arguments, and shadow arguments, he sets up a class of true adjuncts citing the following sentence, Mary drove down to new York on Tuesday. We will take up a small lexical item sugiru in Japanese, and we will argue that we should posit the notion of implicit adjuncts in describing the properties with the small Japanese lexical item sugiru. Throughout the discussions that follow we will demonstrate how the notion is independently motivated irrespective of what linguistic theory we are going to adopt.

A citation-based method of estimating the life span of a patented technology is proposed In this study. The suggested framework Includes : (1) estimation of citation frequency of an individual patent within a technology group. (2) calculation of a mutual citation frequency between citing patent and cited patents, (3) calculation of the period for cited patents from the year of registration to the year of being cited most recently and (4) description for technology group using descriptive statistics such as mean, median, mode, etc. The framework suggested in this study was applied to the US patent data between 1976 and 2004 for 5 communications areas.

The objective of this study is to provide the basic data for the elements and form of bibliographic reference for citing internet sources. The analysis study through various styles were conducted for the purpose. In this paper, documentation styles recommended by MLA APA, CBE and Chicago manual, IS0690-2, SIST-02 are introduced. And, elements and forms of documentation styles for documenting information are carefully analyzed. Also, examples of reference for documenting internet resources were followed.
