Objective: Clinical and Experimental Reproductive Medicine (CERM) converted its language to English only beginning with the first issue of 2011. From that point in time, one of the goals of the journal has been to become a truly international journal. This paper aims to identify the position of CERM in its scholarly journal network based on the journal's metrics. Methods: The journal's metrics, including citations, countries of author affiliation, and countries of citing authors, Hirsch index, and proportion of funded articles, were gathered from Web of Science and analyzed. Results: The two-year impact factor of 2013 was calculated at 0.971 excluding self-citation, which corresponds to a Journal Citation Reports ranking of 85.9% in the category of obstetrics and gynecology. In 2012, 2013, and 2014, the total citations were 17, 68, and 85, respectively. Authors from nine countries contributed to CERM. Researchers from 25 countries cited CERM in their articles. The Hirsch index was six. Out of 88 original articles, 35 studies received funds (39.8%). Conclusion: Based on the journal metrics, changing the journal language to English was found to be successful in promoting CERM to international journal status.

Korean Journal of Sport Biomechanics(KJSB) is facing down by a great challenge. Following the long-term plan of the Korean Society of Sport Biomechanics, the KJSB has entered a new era in 2010 in the sense that the some papers are published in English. Immense efforts are needed to accomplish the original goal of KJSB becoming an internationally recognized journal. The 2009 Spring International Conference of the KSSB was held in this connection with the subject of the vitalization of the KJSB. A special topic were presented at the Conference and vigorous discussions followed. The Editor-in-Chief of KJSB presented strategies to improve the number of suggestion to the KJSB. The Manager of Thomson Reuter gave a presentation on how KJSB can grow into the SCI-expanded journal. This manuscript is presented on the basis of the presentations and the discussions at the meeting for the purpose of finding the way in aiming the direction of the long-term goal of the KJSB. Other evaluation criteria such as journal self-citation rate. SCI citation rate and SCI impact factor need to modify the score ranges.

본 연구는 산업기술정보원이 보유하고 있는 산업기술분야 학술지 이용에 관한 것이다. 학술지 이용 연구의 대상은 1995년부터 1999년까지 과거 5년간 복사 이용된 통계를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 학술지 장서의 19%가 전체 복사 요구의 93%를 충족하였다. 그리고 본 연구를 통하여 학술지 이용 패턴도 파악되었다. 학문 주제분야별 분석 결과는 화학 및 화학공학 분야가 가장 빈도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 학술지 복사빈도 순위와 SCI 순위와의 비교 결과, 복사빈도 순위와 SCI 인용빈도 순위와는 상관성이 있었으나, 영향계수 순위와는 상관성이 없는 것으로 나타났다.

현재 국내학술지의 경우 급격한 양적 성장에도 불구하고 학술지의 내용과 질적 수준을 평가할 수 있는 객관적이고 계량적인 기준이 미비한 상태이며, 국내 연구 성과 측정 시 SCI 등 해외인용지수에 의존함으로써 우수논문의 해외 유출 및 우리말 논문 등한 시 등의 문제가 발생하고 있다. 이에 한국학술지인용색인(KCI)에서는 국내 학술단체가 발간하는 학술지를 대상으로 학술지 정보, 게재논문 정보 및 참고문헌을 DB화하여 논문 간 인용관계분석 등을 실시하고, KCI 홈페이지를 통해 논문 및 학술지의 기본정보 및 각종 인용지수 등을 공개하고 있다. 본 연구는 회계학 관련 국내 학술지들이 어떠한 수준의 영향력을 가지고 있는지를 다양한 KCI 인용지수를 이용하여 비교해보고, 상호인용 빈도를 활용하여 학술지 간 연결망을 사회네트워크분석 관점에서 조망해 보았다. 그 결과 회계학 관련 학술지들이 지금보다 더욱 발전적인 위치를 갖기 위해서는 다양한 학제적 연구를 관련 학회차원에서 장려할 필요가 있으며, 이를 통하여 타 학문분야와 활발하게 교류가 이루어진다면, 이는 분명 회계학 관련 학술지의 위상이 크게 강화될 것으로 기대해 본다.

본 연구에서는 보다 많은 국내 학술지가 SCI에 선정될 수 있도록 하는 연구의 일환으로서 원자력분야의 국내 대표적인 학술지인 \"원자력학회지\"를 대상으로 다각적인 측면에서 분석하였다. \"원자력학회지\"는 학술지로서의 기본적인 기준을 제대로 준수하고 있으며 학술지 자체를 영문으로 발행함으로써 국제 학술지를 지향하고 있지만 몇가지 측면에서 SCI의 선정기준에 크게 부합 되지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 즉 1) 게재된 논문이 일부 연구기관과 대학에 지나치게 편중되어 있다는 점, 2) 논문인용도가 SCI의 평균치인 0.764에 훨씬 못미치는 0.097의 인용도를 보이고 있을 뿐만 아니라 자기인용이 거의 50%에 이르고 있다는 점, 3) 외국의 대학이나 원자력관련 기관의 도서관에 거의 배포하고 있지 않다는 점, 4) 편집 인물 모두 내국인들로만 구성함으로써 국제성을 전혀 고려하지 않았다는 점 등이다. 한편 본 고에서는 \"원자력학회지\"에 대한 분석결과를 SCI 선정기준에 대응시킴으로써 \"원자력학회지\"를 포함한 국내 학술지가 SCI에 선정되기 위해서 어떠한 노력이 필요한지 그 방안을 제시하였다.

과학 기술 분야의 경우 국제적으로 영향력 있는 핵심 학술지는 인용색인인 SCIE를 통해 파악될 수 있다. SCIE에 등재된 학술지 8,300종 가운데 국내 학회나 연구소가 발행하는 학술지는 모두 82종으로 그 숫자는 많지 않다. 이 연구는 SCI의 등재 기준을 고찰하고, 이 기준에 비추어 이미 등재된 국내 학술지의 출판 현황에 관하여 상세히 분석하였다. 학회나 학술지의 웹사이트에서 데이터를 수집하여 분석한 결과, 국내 학술지는 대체로 인용이 활발하지 않았고, 국제성도 우수하지 않았으며, 웹사이트를 통한 이용자서비스도 미흡한 점이 많았다. 따라서 이미 등재된 학술지라 하더라도 이러한 점들을 계속 보완하여 국제 학술지로서의 위상을 높여야 하고, 등재를 시도하는 학술지는 우수한 논문의 확보, 해외 연구자와의 교류 증진, 국내외 홍보 강화 등에 보다 힘써야 할 것으로 보인다. 현재의 수준에서 벗어나 국제적으로도 인정받는 우수 학술지를 출판하기 위해서는 국가 차원에서 장단기 방안을 수립해 적극 실천하는 노력도 동반되어야 할 것으로 보인다.

Objectives: Citation analysis provides a unique insight into how scientific interests and research trends have changed over time. The aim of this study was to report on the 50 top-cited papers in dental stem cell research using the Science Citation Index Expanded provided by the Web of Science database to determine the academic importance of each contribution. Materials and Methods: After the screening, article title and type, total citations and citations per year, publication journal, publication year, first and senior authors, country of origin, institution, and university of reprint author were documented for the 50 top-cited articles in dental stem cell research. Keyword analysis was performed to determine which keywords were most/least popular. Results: Top 50-cited articles were cited between 179 to 2,275 times. The majority of papers were published in 2008 and originated from the United States with the highest contribution from the National Institute of Dental & Craniofacial Research. Journal of Dental Research published the highest number of top-cited articles, followed by Stem Cells and Journal of Endodontics. The greatest number of articles was published by two individual authors, Shi and Gronthos. Among 197 unique keywords, dental pulp stem cells and mesenchymal stem cells were the most frequently used. Thirty-eight of the 50 most cited articles were original articles, and 37 of them were in the field of basic science. Conclusions: Basic science studies in dental stem cell research published in high impact factor journals had the highest citation rates.

Objectives: Advancements in nanotechnology have led to the widespread usage of nanoparticles in the endodontic field. This bibliometric study aimed to determine and analyze the top 100 most-cited articles about nanoparticles in endodontics from 2000 to 2022. Materials and Methods: A detailed electronic search was conducted on the "Clarivate Analytics Web of Science, All Databases" to receive the most-cited articles related to the topic. Articles were ranked in descending order based on their citation counts, and the first 100 were selected for bibliometric analysis. Parameters such as citation density, publication year, journal, country, institution, author, study design, study field, evidence level, and keywords were analyzed. Results: The top 100 most-cited articles received 4,698 citations (16-271) with 970.21 (1.91-181) citation density in total. Among decades, citations were significantly higher in 2011-2022 (p < 0.001). Journal of Endodontics had the largest number of publications. Canada and the University of Toronto made the highest contribution as country and institution, respectively. Anil Kishen was the 1 who participated in the largest number of articles. The majority of the articles were designed in vitro. The main study field was "antibacterial effect." Among keywords, "nanoparticles" followed by "Enterococcus faecalis" were used more frequently. Conclusions: Developments in nanotechnology had an impact on the increasing number of studies in recent years. This bibliometric study provides a comprehensive view of nanoparticle advances and trends using citation analysis.

Altmetrics is an emergent research area whereby social media is applied as a source of metrics to evaluate scientific impact. Recently, the interest in altmetrics has been growing. Traditional scientific impact evaluation indictors are based on the number of publications, citation counts and peer reviews of a researcher. As research publications were increasingly placed online, usage metrics as well as webometrics appeared. This paper explores the potential benefits of altmetrics and the deep relationship between each metrics. Firstly, we found a weak-to-medium correlation among the 11 altmetrics and visualized such correlation. Secondly, we conducted principal component analysis and exploratory factor analysis on altmetrics of social media, divided the 11 altmetrics into four feature sets, confirming the dispersion and relative concentration of altmetrics groups and developed the altmetrics evaluation model. We can use this model to evaluate the scientific impact of articles on social media.

목 적: 최근 6년간 한국의학학술지 인용색인 정보(KoMCI)를 분석하여 대한방사선종양학회지의 학술 인용 추이를 알아보고 학술지 영향력 지표(IF) 개선방안을 찾아보고자 하였다. 대상과 방법: 2000년에서 2005년까지 KoMCI 자료에서 대한방사선종양학회지의 연간 게재 논문 수, 인용한 국내외 참고 문헌 수, 자체 및 타 학술지의 인용 빈도, 대한방사선종양학회지를 인용한 다른 국내 학술지 종류, IF 및 자체 학술지 인용을 제외한 영향력 지수(ZIF) 등의 변화를 알아보고, 이를 KoMCI 등재 국내 학술지 평균과 비교하여 학술 인용 색인 추이 변화 양상의 차이를 살펴보고 IF 개선을 위한 방안을 찾아보았다. 결 과: 연간 게재 논문 수의 감소는 국내 학술지 전반에 걸쳐 공통된 현상이었고, KoMCI 등재 국내 학술지 평균에서는 32%, 대한방사선종양학회지에서는 최대 38%의 감소 추세였다. 논문당 국내 논문 인용빈도는 KoMCI 학술지 평균치는 2.0편에 비해 조금 낮은 1.6편이었다. 대한방사선종양학회지의 논문당 전체 발간 논문에 대한 인용 빈도는 1.333으로 KoMCI 학술지 평균 1.694에 비해 낮았으나, 2000년의 1.000에 비해 20005년에는 1.670으로 67% 증가하였다. 논문당 자체 학술지 인용은 KoMCI 학술지 평균에서는 전체 인용빈도의 61%였으나, 대한방사선종양학회지에서는 72%로 조금 더 높았다. 6년간 대한방사선종양학회지의 IF값은 2000년의 0.144에서 2003년 0.107까지 감소 후 2005년에는 0.203으로 개선되었다. 자체 학술지 인용을 배제한 ZIF값은 2004년의 0.044를 제외하고 2000년의 0.038에서 2005년의 0.013으로 감소 경향이었다. 결 론: 대한방사선종양학회지의 IF는 점진적 개선되고 있으나, 매우 작은 인용빈도를 바탕으로 산출된 한계가 있다. 자체 학술지 인용을 보다 적극적으로 확대하고 타 학술지로부터의 인용증대를 위한 노력(교차인용 확대 및 영문 논문 게재 증가)들이 지속적인 학회지의 IF 개선에 필요하며, 이를 위해 학회 회원들의 학술지 IF 중요성 인식 및 개선에 대한 적극적인 홍보 노력이 요구된다.
