Chloride Meter(CL-2Z형)를 이용한 담배잎 중 chloride의 신속한 검정방법 (Rapid Quantification of Chloride in Tobacco Leaves by a Chloride Meter (Model: CL-2Z))

  • The aim of this study is to develop a simple and rapid field method for the determination of chloride content in tobacco green or cured leaves. To set up a practical process, several factors such as the proper sampling position of each leaf, the size of leaf lamina pieces for blending, the substitution of deionized water fur the extracting solution, 0.1N $HNO_3$, the submerging durations before blending, and the standing times before measuring were studied using flue-cured and burley tobacco with a stable and reproducible Chloride Meter, KRK CL-2Z. From the results, chloride contents of tobacco leaves could be analyzed with the Chloride Meter(CL-2Z) using the suspension of 14 mm diameter leaf disks after soaking in distilled water for 30 min., blending with a mini-blender for 30 seconds. The chloride contents measured in this way showed highly significant correlations with ones by the conventional potentiometric method using an ion meter-chloride electrode and $AgNO_3$ titration. In our method, the procedures such as drying, powdering and weighing samples, and using chemical reagents for extraction (0.1N $HNO_3$) and titration(0.028N $AgNO_3$) could be eliminated. These results suggest that the newly constructed method using the Chloride Meter is more efficient to determine the chloride content of tobacco leave in comparison with the one by the Ion $Meter:AgNO_3$ titration.

Chloride penetration in anchorage concrete of suspension bridge during construction stage

  • Steel corrosion in embedded steel causes a significant durability problems and this usually propagates to structural degradation. Large-scaled concrete structures, PSC (Pre-stressed Concrete) or RC (Reinforced Concrete) structures, are usually constructed with mass concrete and require quite a long construction period. When they are located near to sea shore, chloride ion penetrates into concrete through direct or indirect exposure to marine environment, and this leads durability problems. Even if the structures are sheltered from chloride ingress outside after construction, the chloride contents which have been penetrated into concrete during the long construction period are differently evaluated from the initially mixed chloride content. In the study, chloride profiles in cores extracted from anchorage concrete block in two large-scaled suspension bridge (K and P structure) are evaluated considering the exposure periods and conditions. Total 21 cores in tendon room and chamber room were obtained, and the acid-soluble chlorides and compressive strength were evaluated for the structures containing construction period around 3 years. The test results like diffusion coefficient and surface chloride content from the construction joint and cracked area were also discussed with the considerations for maintenance.

해양콘크리트의 내구성 설계를 위한 재료 매개변수의 시간단계별 해석 (Time Evolution of Material Parameters in Durability Design of Marin Concrete)

  • 표면염소이온량, 투수계수, 염소이온 확산계수, 임계 염소이온량과 같은 재료 매개변수는 콘크리트의 내구성능을 이해하는데 매우 중요한 재료 매개변수이다. 지난 수십 년간, 해양성 콘크리트 구조물의 내구성 설계에 대한 많은 연구가 이루어졌으나 그 결과는 서로 상이하다. 콘크리트의 통합적인 내구성 설계 시스템을 개발하기 위해서 염소이온의 침투에 영향을 미치는 재료매개변수를 정립하는 것은 반드시 필요한 연구이다. 본 고의 목적은 콘크리트의 재료 매개변수를 시간단계별로 추정할 수 있는 기초적 접근방법을 정리하는 것이다. 미세구조 모델 및 시멘트의 경화특성을 기초로 표면 염소이온량 $[Cl]_s$, 투수계수 K, 염소이온 확산계수 $D_c$, 임계 염소이온량 $[Cl]_{cr}$ 을 산정할 수 있는 해석적 기법이 소개되었다. 이는 시멘트 경화체의 수화단계별 특성을 고려하여 시간의 함수로 표현하였다. 본 고에서 소개한 재료 매개변수의 정립은 시간경과에 따른 염소이온 침투를 시뮬레이션하기 위한 필수적인 선행연구로서, 향후에는 침투 특성을 묘사할 수 있는 지배방정식 등과 같은 다양한 해석적 기법들이 개발될 예정이다.

통배추의 염절임 방법에 따른 특성변화 (Characterization of Chinese Cabbage during Soaking in Sodium Chloride Solution)

  • 김치제조의 산업화로 현장에서 도움이 될 수 있는 배추의 절임조건의 영향을 보고자 절임수의 온도 및 절임 시간, 절임시 적재높이, 세척조건, 탈수조건 등을 달리하여 실험하였다. 절임시간이 길수록 그리고 절임수의 온도가 높을수록 절인 배추의 소금농도가 높아짐을 관찰할 수 있었다. 적재 높이를 고려한 배추의 염도 측정에서는 하단의 염도가 상단보다 더 높게 나타났다. 세척과 탈수를 할수록 염도가 떨어지는 경향을 나타냈다. 높이에 따른 배추의 미세구조 변화에서 절인 배추의 세포조직은 높이에 따라 서로 차이를 나타냈다. 염절임을 한 배추는 세척을 할수록 원래의 상태로 회복되는 경향을 나타내었다.

해사를 잔골재를 사용한 콘크리트의 촉진중성화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Accelerated Carbonation of the Concrete Using Sea Sand for Fine Aggregate)

  • In this study, we executed fundamental experiment to investigate properties of accelerated carbonation with changing chloride content of concrete used sea sand in order to examine durability. So we obtained the results of following properties of mechanics, durability, concrete with sea sand, determined concrete w/C 30%, 40%, 50%, and fine aggregate 40% and changing containing chloride 0, 0.3, 0.6, $0.9kg/m^3$ by the experiment of accelerated neutralization. The results of this study as follows: 1) As result of changing chloride content of concrete used sea sand augmented in stages $0.3kg/m^3$, accelerated carbonation was increased as increment chloride content. The increment depth was decreased as it went long term age. It was shown the chloride content effected increment of carbonation depth in concrete 2) As a result of changing W/C of concrete used sea sand augmented in stages 10% at a time from 30% to 50%, accelerated carbonation depth of concrete was increased as W/C ratio. 3) As the carbonation concrete used sea sand, compressive strength between 8 weeks and accelerated carbonation depth of 1 weeks, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 8 weeks was inversion proportion.

침지처리법에(浸漬處理法)있어서 목재함수량(木材含水量)이 염화아연 흡수율(吸收率)에 미치는 영향(影響) (A Study on the Effect of Moisture Content of Wood upon the Absorption on Zinc Chloride Solution)

  • This experiment has been made to investigate the absorption of watersoluble zinc chloride by Pinus densiflora S. et Z. at different moisture content, under soaking process, to decide the optimum content condition for the maximum absorption of zinc chloride by the wood tested and to investigate the concentration of zinc chloride affecting each moisture content of wood. Material was cut in the Dept. of Forest, College of Agr. S.N.U. Suwon, Korea. Sample was divided into sap and heartwood group and cut $2{\times}2{\times}2\;cm$ in size, having exact three dimensions, using the part of D.B.H. The numbers of sample were 20 pieces for each moisture content condition for both sap and heartwood. Especially, the samples were protected from exposure to keep moisture content in green condition. The ranges of moisture content tested were as the table 3 and 4. The conclusions were as follows: 1. With 3% zinc chloride solution, the rate of absorption decreased with the time increased, if the air seasoned Korean red pine (Pinus densiflora S. et Z.) was treated in steeping process. Initial absorption for 30 minutes was more than 50% of total absorpon for 24 hours. 2. Rate of absorption was same under the green condition, while rate of absorption under the moisture content 7 to 30% varied. 3. Although it was not quite proportional change in the absorption with the difference of moisture content, the great change in the absorption occured by seasoning. With exception sap green condition, sapwood twice more permeable than the heartwood in the oven dried condition and it has been observed the nearly same amount of absorption at the moisture content of 7%, 10% and 15% respectively in heartwood. 4. It was better from water in wood from view-point of absorption of zinc chloride solution, but it was difficult practically to obtain the smallest moisture content, and then it was decided that values of allowable moisture content, on the basis of mean absorption, were 15% to 20% in the sapwood, and in the heartwood, 10% to 15%. The mean absorption for each moisture content in the sap and the heartwood were as following. 5. In general, the concentration of zinc chloride after steeping was nearly same between moisture content and sap and heartwood respectively.

  • The antiwashout concrete which is a type of specific concrete is manufactured by using a plenty of superplasticizer with the non-dispersible underwater concrete admixture, and the application of it on construction site is being increased. But when we measure choride ion content by using the potentiographic tester, because it is over total chloride ion content(0.3kg/㎥ under) of Korean Concrete Specification, the claim of construction site is being presented on the quality of antiwashout concrete. Accordingly, hte aim of this study is to verify actual chloride ion content of antiwashout concrete by chloride ion analysis due to chemical admixtures by performance of antiwashout concrete. In conclusion the actual chloride ion content of antiwashout concrete is overestimated by anion($OH^-, SO4^{-2}, S^{-2}, etc) of chemical admixtures, and is proved to be as low as that of ordinary concrete.

콘크리트내 염소이온량이 전기저항에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Chloride Content of on Electrical Resistivity in Concrete)

  • 콘크리트의 전기저항은 철근부식 개시 이전인 잠복기와 철근부식되는 진전기 두과정과 유관된다. 염소이온에 노출된 콘크리트 구조물의 전기저항은 초기 부식율의 위험도를 표현할 수 있는데, 낮은 전기저항은 빠른 염소이온 침투와 높은 부식속도를 의미하기 때문이다. 콘크리트의 전기저항은 인가된 전압과 전류간의 비율인 전기저항으로 표현된다. 이전의 연구에 의하면 콘크리트의 전기저항은 콘크리트내 수분량, 미세구조 및 탄산화 등에 크게 의존하였다. 습윤량과 전기저항의 관계를 다룬 연구가 적지만 존재하는 반면, 염소이온이 전기저항에 미치는 연구를 행한 연구는 매우 드물다. 본 연구의 목적은 염소이온이 콘크리트의 전기저항에 미치는 영향을 고찰하는 것이다. 실험결과에 의하면 염소이온량은 전기저항을 떨어뜨리는 것으로 나타났으며 이는 선형의 관계가 성립되었다. 초기 양생 50일 이전까지 전기저항의 감소추세는 뚜렷하였으며, 이후로는 염소이온량과 상관없이 일정하였다. 결과적으로 본 연구는 염소이온량을 함유한 콘크리트의 전기저항을 표현하는데 결정적인 방법을 제안하였다.

An Experimental Study on the Properties of Concrete using High Volume of Coal Ash

  • Recently, the coal-ash production has been increased by increase of consumption of electric power. So it is important to secure a reclaimed land from pollution and develop practical application of coal ash. This is an experimental study to compare and analyze the properties of concrete using high volume of coal ash (including fly ash and bottom ash) as a part of fine aggregate. For this purpose, the mix proportions of concrete according to replacement ratio of coal ash (10, 20, 35, 50%) were selected. And then air content, slump, setting time, bleeding content, chloride content, compressive strength and carbonation test were performed. According to test results, it was found that the bleeding content of concrete using the coal ash decreased according to increase of replacement ratio. And the chloride content of concrete using the bottom ash as a part of fine aggregate increased as the replacement ratio of bottom ash increased, but it is satisfied with the total chloride content of concrete recommended by KCI - $0.3kg/m^3$ below. Also, the compressive strength of concrete using the bottom ash was similar to that of plain concrete(BA 0) after 28days of curing and the carbonation depth of concrete increased as the replacement ratio increased. However, the carbonation depth of concrete using the fly ash decreased as the replacement ratio of fly ash increased.

시멘트 경화체내 염화물의 고정화 성상 ($C_3A$ 함유량을 중심으로) (Behavior of Chloride Binding in Hardened Cement Pastes (Forcused on $C_3A$ content))

  • The main objective of this study is to determine the critical chloride ion concentrations in the pore solutions causing depassivation of steel reinforcement in concrete made with cements of different $C_3A$ contents. Cement pastes with water-ratio of 0.5 were prepared using four cements with $C_3A$ contents of 0.46, 5.97, 9.14, and 9.65 percent. The pastes were allowed to hydrate in sealed containers for 28days and then objected to pore solution expression. The expressed pore fluids were analyzed for chloride and hydroxyl ion concentrations. It was found that the free cholride concentration in the pore solution decreases significantly with an increase in the $C_3A$ content of the cement. With increasing level of chloride addition, although the alsolute amount of bound chloride increase, the ratio of bound to total chlorides decreases.
