Objectives: The purpose of this study was to analysis the health behaviors differences of adolescents depending on whether parenting behavior perceived by adolescents. Methods: The data which is used in this study was extracted from the 2011 second korean adolescents' penal data collected by the National Youth Policy Institute. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed in order to find how degree parents relationship factors are associated with adolescents' health behavior after adjusting sex, smoking(alcohol drinking) friends, and other significant variables. The data was processed by SAS 9.1. Results: Respondent's general characteristics such as smoking(alcohol drinking)friends, parents' job were positively relative to smoking and alcohol drinking experience. Also Parents's affection and experience of being abused from parents were significantly associated with smoking(alcohol drinking) experience. This study aimed to discuss mental health services for children and adolescents that are being implemented as initiatives of the Korean government and to review the functions and roles of these projects during the COVID-19 pandemic. Three government departments are in charge of providing mental health services for children and adolescents: Ministry of Education, Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, and Ministry of Health and Welfare. The Ministry of Education has implemented several policies to facilitate the early detection of mental health issues among school students (from preventive interventions to selective interventions for high-risk students). The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family additionally serves out-of-school children and adolescents by facilitating early identification of adolescents in crises and providing temporary protection or emergency assistance (as required) through the Community Youth Safety-Net Project. Furthermore, the Ministry of Health and Welfare operates relevant mental health agencies for individuals of all ages including children and adolescents. Any high-risk students who have been screened through the projects of the Ministry of Education are supported through referrals to the following institutions for appropriate treatment of their symptoms: specialized hospitals, the Youth Counseling and Welfare Center operated by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, the National Youth Healing Center, the Mental Health Welfare Center operated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Suicide Prevention Center, and the Child Welfare Center. To assist students who are facing any psychological difficulties because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Education has established a psychiatric support group for providing emergency mental health care; furthermore, schools are promoting psychological surveillance (e.g., provision of non-face-to-face counseling services that are centered around the Wee Center). The Ministry of Education, Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, and Ministry of Health and Welfare have provided varied mental health support services in order to address the challenges faced by children and adolescents during the pandemic. Nevertheless, the mental health services operated by each ministry do show some limitations because their service provision system is insufficiently collaborative. The present study discussed the positive effects of each initiative as well as its limitations; furthermore, it suggested improvements for facilitating the healthy development of children and adolescents' mental health.

Objectives: Literature has shown the relationship between the use of harmful media and sexual behaviors among adolescents. Laws and regulations of violent and sexual mass media are getting stricter, but young children reported that they were still accessible to these harmful materials. It might be due to the development of new techniques in media delivery and new trends of game addict among Korean adolescents. Since there were very few studies on recent harmful media available to young children, the authors explore the usability of harmful media and identify related factors that can predict adolescent sexual attitudes and activities. Methods: This study was conducted secondary analysis using the internal data that were drawn from National Youth Committee's survey of adolescent harmful environment in 2007. The self-reported questionnaires were administered to 13,721 adolescents who were randomly selected based on strata of geography, school, and gender. Results: Adolescents accessed mostly to NC-19(No Children under 19) TV programs(35.8%) and AO(Adult Only) games(35.5%). Most of them reported that they did not have difficulty in the contact of these harmful media. The factors that can predict adolescent sexual intercourse are male adolescents, attending high school, not being satisfied with family life and school, contact with phone-advertising of sex, AO games and other online games, viewing adult videos, or reading adult books. Conclusions: When sex education is designed, an instructor considers not only students' demographic characteristics but also the strategies to deter the use of harmful media especially for game materials.
The purpose of this study is to develop and validate a maternal happiness scale which can be used for mothers who take care of young children, school-aged children, and adolescents. First, the maternal happiness scale was developed based on literature review and the consent of experts. Finally it was consisted of 56 items from 18 elements of happiness through checking the contents validity with professionals. Second, final respondents for the survey were 1300 mothers who had children with and without disabilities in Seoul, Busan, Gyeonggi, and Kyungnam. Third, the 8 factors including the 53 items were extracted through the mothers' appraisal of the items and the review of the adequacy for the factor analysis. The 8 factors were consisted with 'Family relations with family', 'Laid-back life and self-esteem', 'Physical and mental health', 'Independency and development', 'Spirituality', 'Interpersonal relations', 'Appearance', 'Sociocultual environment'. Fourth, the maternal happiness scale demonstrated appropriate levels of construct validity, item internal consistency, distribution of item response, and item discrimination. The results of this study enhance our understanding of the core factors of maternal happiness. In addition, the findings have implications for supporting mothers who take care of young children, school-aged children, and adolescents.

Objectives: The objective of this study is to evaluate the correlates of depression and perception gap of adolescents' Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQOL) between Parents and Children. Methods: Research targets are all students and their parents who are enrolled in from 1st~3rd grade of middle school to $1^{st}$ grade of high school which was selected intentionally. The survey was conducted from May $16^{th}$ to June $9^{th}$ in 2014 by research staffs equipped with structured questionnaire. $PedsQL^{TM}4.0$ Generic Core Scales and Korean form of the Kovacs' Children's Depression Inventory were the main tool for measuring the HRQOL and depression. Data of 985 respondents, both of parents and children, was used for analysis of this study. Results: In terms of gender difference of depression, 5.8% of adolescents, 3.2% of male and 8.5% of female (p<0.001), are shown depression symptom. Depression rate of the low level students of academic achievement was 11.0% which is the lowest rate to compare to 4.3% of middle level and 2.6% of high level students (p<0.001). The case that parents overestimated their children's overall HRQOL is 3.699 times more likely to have depression symptom than the case which is in concurrence between parents and children. Especially the overestimation in social, emotional, and academic area of HRQOL promote depression 3.918 times, 3.371 times, and 2.258 times more than the agreement occurred of each areas. In contrast underestimation in physical area of HRQOL reduce depression 0.266 times less than the agreement occurred of the area. Conclusion: The perception gap of adolescents' HRQOL between parents and children is the most influential factor to adolescents' depression among all variables which was evaluated in this study.

Purpose : This study was conducted to determine the effects of a brain spinning program on cognitive function, body composition, health related fitness and physical self-efficacy of children and adolescents. Methods : This study, 34 children and adolescents were selected and divided into two groups : the exercise group (n=16), which received a brain spinning program and the control group (n=16), which did not receive any exercise program. The program was conducted for 30 minutes three times a week for 4 weeks, and the cognitive function, body composition, health related fitness and physical self-efficacy were measured both before and after the program. Results : The exercise group, which received a brain spinning program showed a significant increase in short-term memory (p<.05) and working memory (p<.01), and muscle mass increased significantly only in the exercise group (p<.05). In addition, left grip strength increased in the exercise group (p<.01), and the maximum oxygen intake decreased significantly only in the control group (p<.05), and Sit-forward bend increased significantly only in the exercise group (p<.01). Physical self-efficacy significantly increased only in the exercise group (p<.05). Conclusion : In summary, short-term memory, cognitive efficiency, working memory, muscle mass, left grip strength, maximum oxygen intake, and left forward bending in children and adolescents significantly increased after the 4-week brain spinning program. However, the control group that was not provided with the 4-week brain spinning program showed a significant increase in body weight and a significant decrease in maximum oxygen intake. In conclusion, the 4-week brain spinning program has positive effects on short-term memory, cognitive function, muscle mass, muscle strength, cardiorespiratory endurance, flexibility, and physical self-efficacy.

The goal of this study was to find out whether early maladaptive schemas (EMS) can be differentiated between the gifted adolescents and delinquent adolescents. Two groups of adolescents were recruited as participants to be surveyed. 144 gifted adolescents were taken from a gifted science and math education center, and 115 delinquent adolescents who had committed crime were taken from 4 police stations in the area of Gyungnam province in Korea. The Korean version of the Schema Inventory for Children was used to measure the level of the early maladaptive schemas (EMS). Stepwise discriminant function analysis yielded a function containing 5 maladaptive schemas (failure, unrelenting standards, vulnerability to harm and illness, loneness/mistrust/abuse, and subjugation), classifying 75.29 accurately into either gifted adolescents or delinquent adolescents. These results suggested that the types of adolescents (gifted adolescents, and delinquent adolescents) can be predicted based on early maladaptive schemas. The findings are discussed from the perspective of Schema Therapy and school counseling.

Recently, as the number of multicultural families and foreigners living in korea increase, the proportion of various types of families and middle-admitted youths is increasing. These youths are less educated than their domestic counterparts, and their conversation time with their family members is relatively weak. Therefore, there is a need for a specialized education system for education and socialization. Immigration background among middle-admitted adolescents, children arrived in korea regardless of their will, with socialization already in the country where they were born, it is a reality that various difficulties are experienced in the socialization of korea society about language, education, emotion and employment. For this reason, some of the migrant background youths are pointed out as a big problem of the multicultural society, which is 18% of the NEET(Not in Education, Employment or Training) classes, which are not educated and are not willing to find jobs or employment. Therefore, in this study, we identified the problems of middle-admitted children of multicultural families as the number of middle-admitted adolescents increased, and suggested the necessary ways for them to achieve rapid socialization and settlement in korea society. For this purpose, we analyzed the problem of education of middle-admitted children as a discriminative approach which is different from general support method for middle-admitted children presented in previous reaearch, since then, we have presented an alternative to carry out realistic, systematic and successful education considering the characteristics of the region centered on the middle-admitted youths of Gwangju city.
