저소득가정 영유아 어머니를 위한 '시소와 그네' 교육중재 프로그램의 효과 (The Effects of the Seesaw & Swing Early Intervention Program on Mothers with Young Children from Low-Income Families)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of the Seesaw & Swing early intervention program on the positive changes of mothers with young children who come from low-income families. It measures their child-rearing efficacy and their child-rearing behaviors. The Seesaw & Swing early intervention program was developed by the Community Chest of Korea [13]. The subjects for this study consisted of 96 mothers (49 in the service group, 47 in the control group) from low-income families. The instruments used were the child-rearing efficacy scale [4] and the child-rearing behavior scale [29]. The results of this study indicated that the Seesaw & Swing early intervention program produced positive effects in child-rearing efficacy as well as in child-rearing behaviors: namely, healthy-rearing abilities, guidance abilities, and discipline abilities in child-rearing efficacy; and affection, rational guidance, authoritative control, encouragement and concern in child-rearing behaviors. In conclusion, for mothers with young children coming from low-income families, the Seesaw & Swing early intervention program can be said to be an effective parent education program, which goes some way towards ending the intergenerational transition of poverty in Korea.

보육시설과 가정의 연계를 통한 감각활동이 영아의 신체발달과 영아-부모 상호작용에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of the Child Care Center-Family Linked Sensory Activity on Infant's Physical Development and Infant-Parent Interaction)

  • 본 연구는 보육시설에서 이루어지는 영아 감각활동을 가정과 연계하여 실시함으로써 영아의 신체발달과 영아-부모 상호작용에 미치는 효과를 알아보고 이를 통해 영아의 발달과 부모의 자녀양육에 도움을 주고자 하였다. 본 연구의 연구대상은 K시의 S어린이집과 D어린이집에 재원중인 만 1 2세 영아 56명과 영아의 어머니 또는 아버지 56명이다. 연구도구는 교사용 1 2세 영아발달평가도구(이영자, 이종숙, 신은수, 곽향림, 이정욱, 2002)중 일부와 Assessment Profile for Early Childhood Program(APECP)(Abbott-Shim & Sibely, 1987)를 수정하여 사용한 선행연구(강숙현, 2002)를 참고하여 영아-부모 상호작용 설문지를 작성하여 사용하였다. 보육시설-가정연계 감각활동은 표준보육과정에 근거하여 육아정책개발센터(2007)에서 개발한 프로그램과 삼성복지재단(2003)의 영아프로그램을 바탕으로 선정된 감각활동을 보육시설의 월간 계획안에 반영하여 1주일에 3회씩 총 8주에 걸쳐 24회 실시하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 보육시설-가정연계 감각활동을 적용한 집단은 통제집단보다 영아의 신체발달에서 부분적으로 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 보육시설-가정연계 감각활동을 적용한 집단은 통제집단에 비해 전체적으로 영아-부모 상호작용 증진에 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

유아의 체질량지수에 영향을 미치는 어머니의 식생활태도 및 영양상태 관련 인자: 2010-2011년 국민건강영양조사 자료 이용 (Factors Related to Eating Habits and Nutrition Status of Mother Affecting on Body Mass Index of Children aged 1-5years: Data from the Fifth Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, 2010-2011)

  • Objectives: The intention of this study was to find out the impact of mother's body mass index, eating habits, nutrition status and sociodemographic factors on the body mass index of the children. Methods: The study used original data of Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2010-2011) and had 957 children in the ages of 1-5 years and 957 mothers of these children, a total 1,914 as subjects. The weights (body mass indexes) of the children, subjects under 5th percentile were classified into a underweight group, 5~84th percentile into a normal weight group, 85-94th percentile into an overweight group and more than 95th percentile into an obesity group based on the 2007 Korean children and adolescents growth chart. Results: We observed that when the body mass index of a mother increased by 1, the possibility that her child would belong to the overweight group increased by 6.5% (95% confidence interval: 1.01~1.13), and the possibility that the child would belong to the obesity group increased by 95% (confidence interval: 1.01~1.18). With regard to the number of deficient nutrients which were ingested according to estimated average requirements (EAR) amid nutrients ingested by the mother increased by 1, the possibility that the child would belong to the obesity group increased by 16.6% (95% confidence interval: 1.01~1.35). In case the birth weight of child increased by 1kg, the odds ratio that the child would belong to the obesity group was 2.022 (95% confidence interval: 1.08~3.77). Conclusions: We conclude that the body mass index, eating habits and nutrition status of the mother had significant effects on the body mass index of the child. Therefore, it is critical to recognize the importance of this observation and provide practical training for eating habits and nutrient intakes in order to achieve healthy growth and prevention of obesity among children.

중학생들에서의 체 질량 지수와 삶의 질의 관계 (RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN QUALITY OF LIFE AND BODY MASS INDEX IN MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS)

  • 비만이 청소년에 미칠 수 있는 사회 심리적 영향을 평가하기 위하여 471명의 중학생에서의 체 질량 지수와 삶의 질의 관계를 알아보았다. 연구 참여 학생 중 우울 위해 CDI검사를 성향을 보이는 학생들을 배제하기 실시하였고 삶의 질을 평가하기 위한 도구로 $PedsQL^{TM}$ 4.0을 사용하였다. 체 질량 지수를 기준으로 저 체중 군, 정상 체중 군, 비만위험 군으로 나누어 삶의 질을 비교하였다. 중학생에서의 체 질량 지수는 삶의 질과 관계가 있으며 비만 중학생들의 경우 정상 체중 중학생들에 비해 자신의 삶의 질을 낮게 평가한다.

역할놀이가 아동의 친사회적 행동에 미치는영향(I) (The Effect of Role-playing on Childeren's Pro-social Behavior(I))

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of unstructured and spontaeous role-playing in pro-social behavior of a child. The experimental group in this study is 7 children who go to after-school class in J. social welfare facility and the controlled group is 7 children in composition class., While the experimental group did role-playing with each other the control group did not have any treatment, In order to find out effects of an experiment pre-test first post-test and second post-test were done. The results can be concluded as following. First in pre-test the degree of behavior resulted the same in experimental group and in controlled group. However in the first post-test the pro-social behavior of the experimental group with role-playing showed an improve than that of the controlled group. Therefore it can be emphasized once more that the role-playing improves pro-social behavior of a child. Second in the second post-test done 2 moth after the role-playing it was found that the pro-social behavior of experimental group keep the improved points as in the first post-test Therefore it can be concluded that the effect of role-playing on pro-social behavior of a child is continuous.

모유팩 모유수유아 어머니와 인공수유아 어머니간의 모아애착과 모성역할자신감 비교 - NICU의 저출생체중아를 중심으로 - (Comparison of Maternal Attachment and Maternal Role Confidence between Breast Milk in Sanitary Pack Feeding Infant's Mothers and Bottle Feeding Infant's Mothers of Low Birth Weight Infants in NICU)

  • Purpose: This study was performed to compare the difference of maternal attachment and the maternal role confidence between mother who feeds the child with mother's milk in sanitary pack by a nurse instead of her and mother who feeds the child with artificial milk. Methods: The subjects of this study consisted of mothers of premature baby who was in NICU and can not be fed with mother's milk directly. In the sample, 21 mothers were the breast feeding group and 20 were the bottle feeding group. Data were collected from April 3, 2004 to November 2, 2005, and were analyzed using SPSS WIN 10.0. Results: The degree of maternal attachment and maternal role confidence of the breast milk feeding group was higher than that of the bottle feeding group. In accordance with general characteristics, the difference was found in maternal attachment and maternal role confidence both breast feeding group and bottle feeding group. Conclusion: More systematic nursing mediation is required for the lactation of mother's milk in sanitary pack is planned to do positive interaction between mother and the child, which has an influence on the formation of maternal attachment and the of maternal role confidence after hospitalization.

Household food insecurity, diet quality, and weight status among indigenous women (Mah Meri) in Peninsular Malaysia

  • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: This cross-sectional study assessed household food security status and determined its association with diet quality and weight status among indigenous women from the Mah Meri tribe in Peninsular Malaysia. SUBJECTS/METHODS: The Radimer/Cornell Hunger and Food Insecurity Instrument and the Malaysian Healthy Eating Index (HEI) were used to assess household food security status and diet quality, respectively. Information on socio-demographic characteristics and 24-hour dietary recall data were collected through face-to-face interview, and anthropometric measurements including weight, height, and body mass index (BMI) were obtained from 222 women. RESULTS: Majority of households (82.9%) experienced different levels of food insecurity: 29.3% household food insecurity, 23.4% individual food insecurity, and 30.2% fell into the child hunger group. The food-secure group had significantly fewer children and smaller household sizes than the food-insecure groups (P < 0.05). The mean household income, income per capita, and food expenditure significantly decreased as food insecurity worsened (P < 0.001). The food-secure group had significantly higher Malaysian HEI scores for grains and cereals (P < 0.01), as well as for meat, poultry, and eggs (P < 0.001), than the food-insecure groups. The child-hunger group had significantly higher fat (P < 0.05) and sodium (P < 0.001) scores than the food-secure and household food-insecure groups. Compared to the individual food-insecure and child-hunger groups, multivariate analysis of covariance showed that the food-secure group was significantly associated with a higher Malaysian HEI score while the household food-insecure group was significantly associated with a higher BMI after controlling for age (P < 0.025). CONCLUSIONS: The majority of indigenous households faced food insecurity. Food insecurity at the individual and child levels was associated with lower quality of diet, while food insecurity at the household level was associated with higher body weight. Therefore, a substantial effort by all stakeholders is warranted to improve food insecurity among poorer households. The results suggest a pressing need for nutritional interventions to improve dietary intake among low income households.

  • The film "The World of Us (2016)" shows the acquisition and loss of friendship that occur in the process of interpersonal shifts in latency school girls. Connection to the peer group helps compensate for the latency child's loss of parent-child intimacy and the ensuing feelings of loneliness. The protagonists realize that the relationship is not for retaliation or for victory, but for playing together. However the reality that lies in front of them will not be so easy. Watching this film reminds one of childhood.

유아주도 요리활동이 유아의 자기효능감 및 학습흥미도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Child-Initiated Cooking Activity on Young Children's Self-Efficacy and Learning Interest)

  • 본 연구는 유아주도 요리활동이 유아의 자기효능감 및 학습흥미도에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 충남에 소재한 민간어린이집 만 4~5세에 재원 중인 34명씩의 두 학급 총 68명을 대상으로 2013년 9월 9일부터 12월 31일까지 실험집단에게는 유아주도 요리활동을, 비교집단에게는 교사주도 요리활동을 실시하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 전체 자기효능감에 있어 비교집단은 약한 증가효과가 있었으나 실험집단은 높은 증가효과를 나타내어 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 또한 각 하위요인별 인지적 영역, 사회 정서적 영역, 신체적 영역 향상에 있어서도 유아주도 요리활동이 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 전체 학습흥미도에 있어 비교집단은 약한 증가효과가 있었으나 실험집단은 높은 증가효과를 나타내어 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 또한 각 하위요인별 주의집중, 흥미도, 자신감, 성실성, 활동에 대한 관심 향상에 있어서도 유아주도 요리활동이 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 유아주도 요리활동이 유아의 자기효능감과 학습흥미도에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 교육활동임을 나타내주었다.

초등학생 학교부적응 증상의 일상생활 경험적 특성 (Daily Manifestations of School Maladjustment Among Elementary School Students)

  • This study investigated the differences in time use patterns and psychological states across daily activity contexts and interpersonal contexts, depending on the levels of school maladjustment among elementary school students. Using the Experience Sampling Method (ESM), 107 elementary school 6th grade students' daily time use patterns and psychological states across daily contexts were measured six times a day over a period of 4 days. Using the school maladjustment scale, an internal problem based school maladjusted group and an external problem based school maladjusted group were identified and selected. The daily time use patterns and psychological states of both school maladjusted groups were compared to those of the adjusted groups. The principle findings are as follows: first, the school maladjusted group students' daily time use patterns across daily activity contexts or interpersonal contexts did not differ from those of the students from the school adjusted group. Second, the school maladjusted group students experienced more negative emotions, lower concentration levels, and lower motivation levels across daily contexts than the school adjusted group students. These differences in motivation between the external problem school maladjusted group and adjusted group, however, were greater in the schoolwork context compared to the other daily activity contexts. The findings were discussed in the contexts of the daily experiences of child school maladjustment.
