Caring Services in Specialized Facilities for Handicapped Children in Gyeongbuk Province : Users' Needs and Satisfaction (장애아동 전담보육시설 이용자의 보육서비스에 대한 요구와 만족도 - 경상북도를 중심으로 -)

  • A structured questionnaire was distributed to families using some of the ten specialized caring facilities throughout Gyeongbuk Province. Of the 294 responses, 242 were usable. Results showed that (1) facilities were most used by families of children with autism (31.3%) and by families with severely handicapped children (96.3%). (2) Suggestions for improving facilities, included physical-, performance-, and language-therapies (60%) and teachers with expertise in special education (47.8%).(3) More than half of the respondents were satisfied with the degree of care. (4) Satisfaction with degree of caring services varied with academic background of mothers, mothers' job status, degree of child's disability, length of usage, average expenditure for hospital visits, and burden to the family.

The Study on Conflict Management Methods and Job Satisfaction of Conflict Level in Team Teaching Nursery Teachers (영아반 복수담임의 갈등수준에 따른 갈등관리방법과 직무만족도)

  • The objective of this study was to understand the degree of conflict in team teaching nursery teachers and also differences in conflict management methods and job satisfaction in accordance with conflict level. For this, a survey was conducted targeting 241 team teaching nursery teachers. In the results of the study, conflict management methods in accordance with conflict level of team teaching nursery teachers showed significant differences in the type of 'integration' and 'avoidance' between groups. Second, job satisfaction in accordance with the conflict level of team teaching nursery teachers showed significant differences in the whole like 'director's operation method & attitude', 'social perception & treatment', 'childcare environment and welfare', 'childcare work', 'relation with colleagues', and 'relation with parents' between groups. In other words, the group with low conflict showed higher job satisfaction than groups with middle or high conflict levels. Based on the results of the study, the efficient operation of team teaching nursery teachers was also discussed.

Influence of Job Satisfaction and Efficacy on the Fire Safety Consciousness of Early Childhood Teachers: Focus on Public Children's Houses in Daejeon and Chungcheongnam-do (영유아 교사의 직무만족도와 효능감이 소방안전의식에 미치는 영향 : 대전·충남지역 국·공립어린이집을 중심으로)

  • The aim of this study was to reduce the number of negligent accidents by improving the fire safety consciousness of infant and child teachers working in a day care center. For this purpose, 242 early childhood teachers working in the national nursery school in Daejeon and Chungcheongnam-do were surveyed. For the survey, the questionnaire consisted of job satisfaction, teacher's efficacy, and fire safety consciousness. The survey data were analyzed using the SPSS 20.0 win program. The factor of job satisfaction and teacher's efficacy had a significant positive influence on the fire safety consciousness of the early childhood teachers (<.05). The teacher's efficacy was found to mediate the relationship between the job satisfaction and fire safety consciousness. In conclusion, this study suggests that teacher's fire safety consciousness is high when the teacher's job satisfaction and efficacy are high. This study is expected to contribute to basic research to increase the teachers' consciousness of fire safety.

The Effect of Childcare Center President's Transformative Leadership on Childcare Teacher's Satisfaction: Focusing on the Effect of Organization Culture and Organization Committment (어린이집 원장의 변혁적 리더십이 보육교사의 직무만족도에 미치는 영향 : 조직문화와 조직몰입의 매개효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between childcare center president's transformative leadership, organization culture, organization commitmen, organization culture, organization commitmen of the mediating effect in the effect of the childcare center president's transformative leadership and job satisfaction of childcare teachters. Three hundred twenty three childcare teachers located in S City in Jeollanam-do were selected as subjects of this study and subsequently surveyed. The results of this study were as follows: First, a positive correlation was observed between childcare center president's transformative leadership and organization culture, job satisfaction and organization commitment of childcare teachers. Second, childcare center president's transformative leadership had an influence on job satisfaction through the medium of organization culture and organization commitment. This study examined the effect that childcare center president's transformative leadership would have on job satisfaction of childcare teachers through the medium of organization culture and organization commitment. The results of this study may provide basic data for efficient operations of childcare centers, and such results are remarkable elements in job satisfaction of childcare teachers, implying the importance of childcare center president's transformative leadership, organization culture and organization commitment.

Relationships among Servant leadership perceived by early childhood teacher, Teacher Development Stage and Organizational Effectiveness (유아 교사가 지각하는 서번트 리더십과 교사발달단계와 조직효과성과의 관계)

  • The purpose of this research was to investigate the effects of servant leadership, teacher development stage and organizational effectiveness. Subjects in this study were 259 teachers working at kindergartens and child care centers in Seoul and the Capital area of Korea. Servant Leadership Questionnaire(Kim, 2004), Teacher Development Stage Questionnaire(Lee, 2007), Organizational Commitment Questionnaire(Kim, 1998), Job Satisfaction Questionnaire(Kim, 2007), Teacher Job Satisfaction Questionnaire(Noh, 2001), and Job Performance Questionnaire(Kim, 1983) were used. Descriptive statistics, T-tests, Pearson's correlation, and hierarchical regression analysis were performed. Results showed that servant leadership, teacher development stage and organizational effectiveness were highly correlated with one another. Variables of servant leadership and teacher development were significant predictors of organizational effectiveness. Conclusions suggest that organizational effectiveness was multiply determined.

A Meta-analysis of the Factors Related to Psychological Burn-out of Early Childhood Teachers (유아교사의 심리적소진과 관련된 요인에 대한 메타분석)

  • This study examined the effect sizes of psychological burnout-related factors on the psychological burnout of early childhood teachers by applying meta - analysis focusing on master 's theses, doctoral dissertations and journals that have been published in Korea for the past 20 years. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, the total effect size, the factor group, the sub-factor, and the positive and negative effect factors of the inducing and inhibiting factors showed a significant effect size. Second, in terms of inducing factors, the task problem group showed a larger effect size than the negative relationship group. Third, among the lower factor of the negative relationship group, all the sub factors excluding the negative relationship with the director, effect size showed a medium effect size. Fourth, task stress showed the greatest effect size among the sub factors of the task factor group, followed by role conflict, task overload, and role ambiguity. Fifth, resilience showed the greatest effect size among the inhibition factors, followed by organizational support factor, teacher efficacy factor, social support factor, and emotional factor. Sixth, all sub factors of the emotional labor factor group, organizational support factor of the organizational support factor group, general teacher efficacy factor of the teacher efficacy factor group, and all sub factors of social support factor Medium effect size. In addition, the lower factor of all the other factors showed a large effect size. Seventh, of the effect factors, job satisfaction factor, depression factor, and turnover intention factor all showed a large effect size.
