Observations from past strong earthquakes revealed that near-fault ground motions could lead to the failure, or even collapse of electricity transmission towers which are vital components of an overhead electric power delivery system. For assessing the performance and robustness, a high-fidelity three-dimension finite element model of a long span transmission tower-line system is established with the consideration of geometric nonlinearity and material nonlinearity. In the numerical model, the Tian-Ma-Qu material model is utilized to capture the nonlinear behaviours of structural members, and the cumulative damage D is defined as an index to identify the failure of members. Consequently, incremental dynamic analyses (IDAs) are conducted to study the collapse fragility, damage positions, collapse margin ratio (CMR) and dynamic robustness of the transmission towers by using twenty near-fault ground motions selected from PEER. Based on the bending and shear deformation of structures, the collapse mechanism of electricity transmission towers subjected to Chi-Chi earthquake is investigated. This research can serve as a reference for the performance of large span transmission tower line system subjected to near-fault ground motions.

For the first time, a single specimen (68.47 mm in total length) of Lumpenopsis pavlenkoi Soldatov, 1916 belonging to the family Stichaeidae was collected from the northernmost area of the eastern coast of Korea (Gosung, Gangwon Province) in April, 2020, using square net (1.0 m width, 0.3 m height, 2.0 mm mesh size). This species is characterized by elongated and compressed body, absence of lateral line and cirri on head, presence of scales on cheek, dorsal fin with only 50 spines, anal fin with 2 spines and 30 soft rays, and separated operculum and isthmus. The body is yellowish with 7 saddles. The new Korean name "Kko-ma-be-do-ra-chi-sog" is proposed for the genus Lumpenopsis, and "Deung-jeom-kko-ma-be-do-ra-chi" is proposed for the species L. pavlenkoi.

A single specimen (39.4 mm standard length) of Brachaluteres ulvarum, belonging to the family Monacanthidae has been recorded for the first time from Supseom, Jeju-do Island of southern Korea on 6 March 2021. This species was characterized by the presence of a small second dorsal spine present, the posterior end of pelvic without encasing scales, and numerous thin dark longitudinal lines on body. It was morphologically similar to the B. taylori, but distinguished by the ratio of the caudal peduncle to the head length (B. ulvarum, 2.5 to 3.7 times; B. taylori, 3.5 to 5.2 times). In addition, the former is well distinguished from the latter through mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) sequences by genetic distances of range from 0.088 to 0.090. The new Korean name "Kko-ma-jwi-chi- sog" is proposed for the genus Brachaluteres, and "Kko-ma-jwi-chi" for the species B. ulvarum.

A microcystin-degrading bacterium was isolated from Daechung reservoir, Korea. The isolated bacterium was identified as Microbacterium sp. by 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis, and designated as Microbacterium sp. MA21. This strain degraded cyanobacterial hepatotoxin, microcystin-LR, over 80% when incubated at $30^{\circ}C$ for 12 hr in R2A medium. Two unknown metabolites of microcystin were also identified during the degradation process. Although only Sphinogomonas and Actinobacteria have been known to degrade microcystin previously, this is the first report that Microbacterium sp. MA21 could degrade microcystin.

Whole rock and mineral ages for the Jecheon Granite distributed in the Ogcheon Fold Belt were dated by three radiometric methods, and its thermal history was elucidated as follows, on the basis of isotopic age data. Rb and Sr isotopic compositions of three whole rock and seven mineral concentrates made an isochron of 202.7${\pm}$ 1.9 Ma with a strontium initial ratio of 0.7140. Different age data of twelve mineral concentrates agree closely with the retention temperature of each mineral in K-Ar and Fission Track methods. The Jecheon granitic magma was generated by partial melting of crustal materials (S-type), or by mixins between mantle and crustal materials, intruded into the katazone or mesozone (7∼9 km) of the Ogcheon Fold Belt, at least in the Early Jurassic (about 203 Ma), and then crystallized and cooled down rapidly from about 600$^{\circ}C$ to 300$^{\circ}C$ (more than 20$^{\circ}C$/Ma), owing to thermal differences between the magma and the wall-rock. During the Middle to Late Jurassic (190∼140 Ma), the cooling of the granite was likely to stop and keep thermal equilibrium with the wall-rock. The severe tectonism associated with igneous activities and active weathering on the surface in Early to Late Cretaceous time (140∼70 Ma) might have accelerated the granite pluton to uplift rapidly (40∼60 m/Ma in average) up to 3∼4 km and cooled down from 300$^{\circ}C$ to 200$^{\circ}C$ (1.4 $^{\circ}C$/Ma). The granite pluton was likely to keep different uplifting and cooling rate of about 120 m/Ma and 5$^{\circ}C$/Ma in average from the Late Cretaceous to Early Tertiary (70∼50 Ma), and about 60 m/Ma and 2$^{\circ}C$/Ma in average from about 50 Ma up to the present, respectively.

Chinese medicine is a precious treasure inherited from ancient ancestors. It is accredited for the prosperous growth of the Chinese nations. However, the descriptions of the herbs in the ancient herbal are not in detail and the great numbers of herbs used which grows in wide geographic areas together with various local folk names, new substitutes and new folk medicines had increased, many Chinese herbs are composed of herbs that are labeled with identical names but actually are of different origins and different grades. Similar situation had occurred in China, japan and Korea In Taiwan, misused Chinese crude drugs are also very common in the past. This phenomenon had caused a lot of confusion and had great influence the clinical efficacy of the treatment. In the past, Professor Hong Yen Hsu, Na Chi, Woei Song Kan and Kung Yin Yen had studied the origins of Chinese crude drugs in Taiwan based on the morphological identification and found that the origins of Ma-Tou-Ling, Pu-Kung-Yin, Tu-Chung, Wang-Pu-Liu-Hsing, Pan-lan-Ken, Niu-Chi, Fang-Chi, Huang-Chi, PienHsiu and Sha Wan-Tzi are different from that of the species used in mainland China. In order to assure the quality and clinical efficacy of the crude drugs, besides the traditional morphological methods, we bad recently combined modem chemical and pharma-cological methods to assess drug quality. Drugs that have been evaluated without effects should be abandoned. The species of those commonly misued crude drugs used in compound formula preparations are also identified Based on the pharmacological results, a suitable species is recommended so as to improve the clinical efficacy of those preparations. In this paper, we like to report our recent studies on Niu Chi(Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix, Cyathulae Radix and Strobilanthis Radix). Fang-Chi(Arstolochiae Fangchi Radix, Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix and Cocculus Radix) and Huang-Chi(Astragali Radix and Hedysari Radix) using comparative pharmacognosy methods.

The 13 genre paintings by Junkeun Kim in the book "Korean Games(by Stewart Culin 1858~1929)" were used to study the late $19^{th}$ century's basic costumes and Games style in Korea. The people who appear in the paintings are 26 adult males, 2 minor males, 2 adult females and 3 kisaengs. Typical men wore 'Jeogori' which had various colors and white linings with a reached hip line, and knotted with a 'go-rum' on the right side. They also wore, white colored 'Baji' with colorful sash that were knot below knee or ankle together with 'Hang-jun' or 'Daenim'. They wore 'Beoseon'. Some men wore 'Po' whose colors were blue, green, indigo, white. The general women wore 'Jeogori' in deep green and light pink, indigo, green, red, and they matched with colors for 'Kit' and, 'Go-rum', 'Kut-dong' and its 'Go-rum' was short and narrow. It was so fit and short with narrow sleeve. It had 'Dunggun-kit'(round head collar) with white 'Dong-jung' and so it fit at neck. They wore 'Chi-ma' whose color was red, light green, or light indigo. It contrasted with 'Jeogori'. The width of 'Chi-ma' was big enough. Then white inner slacks came out under the skirt. Traditional Korean games can be classified according to age and gender. Then the games can be further classified into three categories : men's games, women's games, and games for all. The games for adult are an archery practice, hunting, shovel work with a karae, making a bow, drawing Jongkung-chart, Korean chess, playing paduk, and the Korean card game. A swing is a game for women. Games for both men and women are dice play, and domino game. Games for both adult and minor males are sledge, and tightrope walking. Through genre paintings in the $19^{th}$ century, I reached a conclusion that basic costumes are similar to 'Hanbok' at the present time and the method of wearing them has not changed much. It appears that the originality of traditional costumes has been maintained.

Questa tesi tratta di due aspetti. Primo, i giullari erano coloro che hanno fatto la satira sulle contraddizioni della societa medievale quasisempre da soli. Gli oggetti della satira erano in gran parte la classe dominate e gli ecclesiastici. Particolarmente chi governa, opprime e sfrutta il popolo come i padroni, i ricchi, gli aristocratici, i mercanti, i re, i sindaci, i militari, e chi rappresenta i sovrani come il papa, i vescovi, e i cardinali. Anche la satira del Fo moderno si rivolge contro gli stessi. Perché anche se il tempo passa, la situazione non è quasi cambiata. Quei soggetti fanno azioni ipocrite in un ambito schematico e dogmatico, e non fanno conoscere al popolo la loro situazione d'inuguaglianza. Perciò Fo ritiene che la situazione disperata del popolo è la stessa, sia nel medievo sia oggi. Secondo, voglio fare vedere che i giullari fanno la satira pungente della classe dominante, e degli ecclesiastici ma non rinnegano la cristianità. E anche gli estremisti che talvolta erano i monaci diventati giullari, dicono che se vogliamo dare dignità alla Chiesa di Cristo dobbiamo distruggere la Chiesa. E per distruggere la Chiesa dobbiamo distruggere chi la governa, il papa, i vescovi, e i cardinali. Ma anche loro, in quel caso, non rinnegano la cristianità in sè stessa. Poiché Dio (il Padreterno) rappresenta i padroni e i sovrani è odiato, mentre e' sempre amato Gesù Cristo da tutti i giullari, gli estremisti e anche il popolo, ché egli è Dio che viene sulla terra a cercar di ridare la primavera agli uomini e si sacrifica come Dioniso. E soprattutto è considerato come il simbolo della resistenza contro la inugualglianza, e dell'amore e della dignità fondamentale degli uomini. Nei nove testi di Mistero Buffo, i giullari e Fo considerano sempre molto importante la dignità degli uomini. E Cristo è il simbolo di questa dignità. Così i testi in Mistero Buffo hanno sempre una forte connotazione, non sono soltanto una satira sulla classe dominante e gli ecclesiastici ma contengono anche in definitiva la volontà di ricercare la restaurazione della dignità degli uomini e dello spirito di Cristo.
