12주간의 태극권이 폐경 후 여성의 골밀도 및 골 대사 지표에 미치는 효과 (Effects of a 12-Week Tai Chi on the Bone Mineral Density and Bone Metabolic Markers in Postmenopausal Women)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a 12-week Tai Chi on the bone mineral density and bone metabolic markers in postmenopausal women Methods: Data were collected from March to July, 2009. Fifty postmenopausal women were recruited for the study. Twenty two women were allocated to experimental group, and 28 to control group. The experimental group underwent Tai Chi exercise twice a week for twelve weeks. The control group was only notified with results of bone mineral density and bone metabolic markers. Bone mineral density was measured by using of DTX-200 (Osteometer MediTech, Hawthorne, CA, USA) at distal radius site and bone metabolic markers were measured by radioimmunoassay method. Collected data were analyzed by t-test, $X^2$-test, and Mann-Whitney test. Results: After 12 weeks of treatment, the Tai Chi group showed a significant difference in bone mineral density compared to control group but no significant effect on osteocalcin and deoxypyridinoline level. Conclusion: Our results suggest that 12 weeks of Tai chi may delay bone loss in postmenopausal women.

소양인(少陽人) 주요(主要) 처방(處方) 간의 성격(性格) 및 소증(素證) 차이(差異)에 관한 연구(硏究) (A Study on Personality and Ordinary Symptoms according to Soyangin's Major Constitutional Medicine)

  • Objectives The purpose of this study was to survey the Personality and Ordinary Symptoms of Soyangin and to compare the tendency of their personality and symptoms according to Soyangin's major prescription. Methods 331 Soyangin's personality and ordinary symptoms data registered to SCIB(Sasang Constitutional Information Bank) were used. All data were analyzed with Chi square test. Some data were ranked and analyzed with Kruskal-Wallis test and Mann-Whitney test(with Bonferroni correction). Chi square and Kruskal-Wallis test's significant P value was 0.05. Mann-Whitney test's significant P value was 0.005. Results & Conclusions In Chi square test, there is difference in personality and symptoms in Soyangin's major prescription as followed, the degree of masculinity and femininity, the degree of patience, the condition of stool, the degree of appetite, good or bad in digesting, amount of meal, the speed of eating, amount of drinking water, the temperature of drinking water, coldness and hotness in abdomen or not. In Kruskal-Wallis test and Mann-Whitney test, Yanggyuksanhwa-tang is more masculine than Dokhwaljihwang-tang, Hyeongbangsabaek-san, Hyeongbangjihwangtang. Dokhwaljihwang-tang is less appetite than Yanggyuksanhwa-tang and Hyeongbangsabaek-san. Yanggyuksanhwa- tang is more fast in eating than Hyeongbangjihwang-tang.

조현병 입원환자의 대사증후군 관련요인에 대한 융복합연구 (A convergence Study on Associated Factors on Metabolic Syndrome among Inpatients with Schizophrenia)

  • 본 연구는 조현병 입원환자를 대상으로 대사증후군 위험성 정도를 파악하고 관련요인을 파악하기 위한 서술적 상관 관계연구이다. 연구대상자는 G 광역시에 위치한 G 정신병원 조현병 입원환자 127명이다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 22.0을 이용하여 기술통계, ${\chi}^2-test$, t-test, 로지스틱회귀분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구결과 대사증후군 유병율은 46.5%로 높게 나타났다. 대상자의 대사증후군은 신체질환 유무(${\chi}^2=11.51$, p<.001), 체질량 지수(${\chi}^2=13.59$, p<.001), 비만 인식(${\chi}^2=8.38$, p<.001), 올란자핀 복용(${\chi}^2=6.31$, p<.05)에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다. 회귀분석 결과, 대사증후군 발생 위험도는 신체질환이 있는 경우 3.65배(95% CI=1.68~7.92), 체질량지수가 23이상인 경우 3.76배(95% CI=1.39~10.14), 올란자핀을 복용하는 경우 3.05배(95% CI=1.02~9.10) 더 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 이 모형의 설명력은 총 29.1%로 나타났다. 따라서 본 연구에서 확인된 조현병 입원환자의 대사증후군 관련요인을 토대로 체계적인 대사증후군 관리와 예방을 위한 간호중재의 개발 및 제공이 요구된다.

지역사회중심재활운동이 여성 슬관절염 환자의 신체기능에 미치는 효과 (The Efficacy of Community-Based Rehabilitation Exercise to Improve Physical Function in Old Women with Knee Arthritis)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of Tai-Chi exercise (TCE) and resistance exercise (RE) when used as part of a community-based exercise program on improvement of physical function in elderly women with knee arthritis. Methods: Forty-seven women with knee arthritis participated in this study. They were assigned to one of two groups: the TCE group (n=22) or the RE group (n=25). Tai-Chi exercise and resistance exercise sessions were held for 1 hour per session, twice per week, for 8 consecutive weeks. At pre-treatment and post-treatment, subjects were tested using the following measurements: one-legged stand test (sec), a functional reach test (cm), a test of the strength of the knee extensor and flexor muscles, determination of the pathway of center of foot pressure and vertical ground reaction force for stance phase at pre and post treatment time points. An independent t-test and a ${\chi}^2$ were used to determine the significance of differences between group means using SPSS 12.0. Results: After 8 weeks of participation in the exercise programs, there were significant improvements for both groups in joint pain, difficulty of performing activity, muscle strength of knee extensor and flexor. Also, vertical ground reaction force increased at the loading response phase for both groups. The RE group was significantly different from TC group on the eyes-closed one-legged stand test (sec). Conclusion: Tai-Chi exercise and resistance exercise programs improve physical functioning and reduce pain and locomotion difficulties.

잠재적 위험요인의 탐색에 관한 단일표본분석과 복합표본분석의 비교 (Comparative Analysis of Unweighted Sample Design and Complex Sample Design Related to the Exploration of Potential Risk Factors of Dysphonia)

  • 본 연구는 잠재적 위험요인을 탐색하는 방법으로 단순임의추출분석(unweighted sample design), 빈도 가중치를 적용한 단일표본분석(frequency weighted sample design), 가중치를 층화하여 적용한 복합표본분석(complex sample design)을 비교하고, 도출된 결과에 통계적인 차이가 있는지를 파악하고자 수행되었다. 자료원은 2009 국민건강영양조사의 이비인후과 검진 자료를 이용하였다. 분석 방법은 피어슨의 교차검정(Pearson chi-square test)과 라오-스콧교차검정(Rao-scott chi-square test)을 이용하였다. 분석 결과, 빈도 가중치만을 적용한 단일표본분석의 경우에는 모든 변수가 유의한 위험요인으로 과대 예측 되었고, 가중치를 적용하지 않은 단순임의추출 분석과 복합표본분석은 유의수준 및 결과에 차이가 있었다. 국가통계자료를 이용할 때, 연구의 결과가 전체 인구집단을 대표할 수 있도록 의미를 부여하기 위해서는 층화변수와 집락변수를 사용하여 가중치를 적용하는 복합표본분석이 필요하다. 나아가, 빈도 가중치만을 적용하는 경우에는 연구 결과에 대한 과잉해석의 가능성이 높기 때문에 각별한 주의가 요구된다.

여성노인에 대한 타이치 운동의 효과 (The Effect of Tai Chi Exercise in Elderly Women)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of Tai Chi exercise program on pain, fatigue, depression, self-efficacy, and quality of life in elderly women. Method: A quasi-experimental design, a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest was the method of this study. Elderly women who agreed to participate in the study were conveniently placed into an experimental group (n=33) or an control group (n=34). The experimental group participated in Tai Chi exercise program, which was held for 60 minutes per session and 3 times a week for 8 weeks. Tai Chi exercise program consisted of a 10 minute warm-up, a 45 minute main session, and a 5 minute cooling down. In order to evaluate the effects of Tai Chi exercise program, pain, fatigue, depression, self-efficacy, and quality of life were measured with a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using Chi-square test, Fisher's exact test, t- test, and ANCOVA by SPSS WIN 13.0 program. Results: Compared with the control group, the experimental group reported higher level of quality of life (F=7.67, p=.007) and self-efficacy (F=20.9, p=.000) and lower level of pain (F=10.93, p= .002), fatigue (F=6.28, p=.015), and depression (F=10.02, p=.002). Conclusions: This study suggests that Tai Chi exercise program may be one of the effective nursing interventions for elderly women.

수중 Ai-Chi 운동프로그램이 신체 활동량에 따른 대상자의 엉덩관절 가동성과 자세 및 균형에 미치는 영향 (Effect of the Underwater Ai-Chi Exercise Program on Hip Joint Mobility, Body Balance and Posture Change Based on Amount of the Physical Activity of College Students )

  • PURPOSE: To investigate the effects of the underwater Ai-Chi exercise on the joint range of motion, balance and posture. METHODS: Thirty-six college students (30 men, 6 women) were divided into a 'low physical activity' groups (Group I). and an 'appropriate physical activity' groups (Group II). The Ai-Chi underwater exercise was conducted three times a week for two weeks for both groups. A goniometer was used to measure the range of motion of the hip joint, and Y-Balance and the posture screen mobile were used to measure the stability of the lower extremities. RESULTS: An evaluation of the range of motion of the hip joint before and after the Ai-Chi exercise showed significant results in the low physical activity group. However, the flexural range showed a significant increase after exercise, but not significant result. In the comparison of the mean increase between groups, only the right hip joint showed a significant difference in both groups. Also, in the comparison of the Y balance test and posture screen test before and after exercise, both groups showed significant. CONCLUSION: The Ai-Chi underwater exercise helped improve the range of motion of the hip joint and the ability to balance. Also It helped improve posture alignment. In addition, although the increase in all physical activity groups lower than the appropriate physical activity groups was greater in all figures, the increase in the number of samples, the extension of the experimental period, and various variables could be obtained.

슬골관절염 노인환자의 타이치운동 효과 (Effects of Tai Chi Exercise in Elderly with Knee Osteoarthritis)

  • Purpose: This study was to determine whether the Sun-style 24 forms of Tai Chi exercise improve pain, stiffness, disability, knee joint motion, mobility, balance or falling. Method: Forty-six community-dwelling elderly subjects (mean age, $75.46{\pm}6.28$) voluntarily participated in an intervention group of either 24 forms of Sun-style T ai Chi for 60 min, 2 times per week for 12 weeks or a control group. A non-equivalent pretest-posttest design was used. Independent t-test and ANCOVA were used to examine group differences by using SPSS12.0. Result: The experimental group had significantly less pain (F=7.60, p=.008) and stiffness (t=-3.19, p=.003) than the control group. Also there were significant improvements in knee joint motion on the right knee (t=2.44, p=.019), left knee (t=2.30, p=.026), rising time (F=8.03, p=.07), balance on the left single leg test (t=2.20, p=.033), and fear of falling (t=-2.33, p=.024) in the Tai Chi exercise group. No significant group differences were found in disability and falls efficacy. Conclusion: The Sun-style 24 forms Tai Chi exercise is effective in decreasing pain, stiffness, fear of falling and it improves balance, rising time, and knee joint motion. We suggest a continuing long term intervention to decrease disability and increase efficacy concerning falls.

만성관절염 환자의 타이치 운동의 효과연구 (The Effects of Tai-Chi for Patients with Chronic Arthritis)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of Tai-Chi for patients with chronic arthritis. This study was performed from 15th Sep. to 7th Nov. 2003, 57 arthritis patients were participated in the Tai-Chi program. Outcome measures were pain, fatigue, flexibility and balance. Data were analysed by $X^{2}-test$ and t-test. There were statistically significant in fatigue, and knee flexibility, but no significant differences were found in pain and balance. In conclusion, Tai-Chi program was proved to be an effective nursing intervention to increase the fatigue and flexibility. And the 12 forms of Tai-Chi program has been found safely applicable to the patients with chronic arthritis for 8 weeks.

타이치 운동이 간호대학생의 피로, 불안 및 수면양상에 미치는 효과 (Effect of Tai Chi Exercise on Fatigue, Anxiety, and Sleep Patterns in Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Tai Chi exercise program (Sun style 31 forms) on fatigue, anxiety, and sleep patterns in nursing students. Methods: A quasi-experimental study with a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used. Nursing students who participated in this study were assigned to an experimental group (n=24), and a control group (n=26). The experimental group participated in Tai Chi exercise program for 60 minutes per session, and 3 times a week for 7 weeks. The Tai Chi exercise program consisted of 10 minutes for warm-up, 45 minutes for main session, and 5 minutes for cooling down exercises. The data were collected prior and after the intervention using self-administered questionnaires. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, $x^2$-test, Fisher's exact probability, t -test, and the general linear model. Results: After the application of the program, the experimental group showed a significant difference in fatigue (F=20.62, p<.001), anxiety (F=16.96, p<.001), and sleep pattern (F=15.70, p<.001) scores. Conclusion: These findings show that the Tai Chi exercise program can be an effective nursing intervention to improve sleep pattern and to reduce fatigue and anxiety in nursing students.
